"I Love Haircut - I Love Hairstylist"

Hello, everyone well what I'm going to be doing today, I'm actually in my new space at the salon and I'm going to be showing you how to texturize a long um, fine, haired lob, and I thought that Chelsea's hair was really interesting because it um it doesn't Have as much structure around the front, and so I'm not going to be texturing that and it has a lot of density in the back area. So this is what I've done. This is Chelsea you guys, and we took her hair from about what about right. There. Chelsea it was, we cut a good 10 inches off of it, and this spot just hit really beautifully on her shoulder line. So we wanted to keep as much structure and volume to the shape as possible at the bottom. So I wanted to keep the structure of her one length line, but I want it to move hi Ben. How are you doing um? I'M surprised that you're hopping on here? What uh, what time is it in England anyway, it's night time, isn't it you're done with work for the day? Okay, so what I've done is I've gone in and I've sectioned out the underneath. So I wanted to keep as much structure to this bottom line as possible. So I left that really strong and I did a just a very simple one length with a small point cut, so I had a kind of a serrated edge to my line and then I'm working through this middle area. But I want to clip this out of the way, so this is my area that has all of this structure to it that I want to keep. So let me clip this and then I've already done the back cutting and I thought I should have shown that um. So I'm just going to show you what I did and then how I'm going to blend it into the top. So right here this is the area that I want to do my back cutting on, because I want her hair to still look one length, but I wanted to have texture and movement, and so this area right here I've gone in and I've done some back cutting Already I'll do just a little bit more, so you can see it, but you can see how much texture this actually has. Look at that. So what I'm doing is I'm placing an interior texture inside of a one length cut so put your comb down and I'm going to go through and just lift the hair up and place some back cutting in here and I've already done a little bit. But I want to show you guys what I did so just barely opening and closing my scissor just a little bit pushing the hair out of the way and yes I'll, be saving this live, so that you can view it later, because I know a lot of People won't be able to be on um for the whole thing, so it's not going to be very long so just coming in. I did all this back cutting through here, but remember. I'Ve got the underneath clipped out of the way and the top clipped out of the way. So what this is going to do is it's going to give us texture and movement. You can see what's going to happen in the interior of her hair when I let the rest of this down so I'll. Take the bottom out and go ahead and let that down and look at that look at all that movement and then I'm going to drop this top. So this is the crown area. So I kept this out of the way so that we're going to maintain more of a smooth surface across the top of the hair. I wanted to make sure that I was going to have most of my texture in the interior and I'm not going to texturize these front edges at all, because the density isn't very strong there. So I don't want to remove the density and the strong feeling that we have in through the front so to combine those two edges. What I'm going to do is I'm going to come in pick this up and I can see my texture underneath and I'm just going to do. Maybe two passes at it with that cutting you don't want to break through that top Edge. So, just picking this up, I can see my texture fall out. It'S going a little bit here and there because she wants to be able to wear this smooth as well as curly, but still have that one length feeling to it. So this gives you an interior texture that will help the hair to actually move. You can see how much that's giving inside of her hair a couple of pieces here and there and what's funny, is that Chelsea was actually from Texas and she flew up here to Spokane with her friend April who's. Getting her hair cut next they've made an outing of it and um. She knows what this technique is. She goes oh you're back cutting now, so she was. She was watching that happen and what I always do this dry. Yes, I would always do back cutting dry if you do this, when it's wet you'll take out a lot more hair. So it's not that you can't do back cutting dry or wet, but I just prefer it dry. Okay, so we still have. You can see that smooth surface across the top, but there's all of this texture and movement, because we have that in the interior so just coming around. She has a lot more hair on the left, so I'm going to do just a touch of back cutting as I move around here, maybe two little swipes at it. It doesn't take much to make a difference, and I'm really I'm pretty happy with that. Right now and I'm going to spray in a new spray from canvas, it's their dry texture spray, and this is just a little travel size which I love, and this gives a light. Airy texture to the hair and I sprayed an interior and with this she could wear it curly or she could wear it straight and smooth, but I mean I just I love the amount of texture that this gives. This is a complete makeover for her as it doesn't. It doesn't have to be something crazy for it to be new and fresh and for her she normally she came in with her hair curled and long, and now we have it kind of smooth, but oh pretty with so much texture. So there we have that we texturized inside of our long fine haired lob, and I did mostly the crown underneath the crown area. So it was just in the back and maintained that one length surface across the top by sectioning it out of the way and then maintain the structure of the bottom line. By taking that out and making sure I had enough at the bottom, then I just textured that inside piece, so there we have it a little bit of texture with that cutting for the lob. So I will say this to my Instagram, so you guys can view it later. Thanks for joining me,
