Hey guys!

I hope you like this video….

Sometimes we over think a service and create more work than what’s needed.

Here’s a fast and simple way to create a partial balayage. Literally took me just 10 minutes for the application…..

Lightened with Schwarzkopf BlondeMe & 20 vol

Toned with Schwarzkopf igora vibrance

half and half 5-65 / 7-77 with 6 vol 15/20 minutes

Hey guys, i've been asked before how i go about doing a balayage on a bob style, haircut and you'll be shocked to know that i only used six foils strategically placed to create this balayage effect. Color. You guys can follow me over on instagram at christy. At the cottage, okay, guys, here's my clients before you can see she has about six inches of girl from the last service. We'Ve done. So that tells me that she's very low maintenance, so we don't want to do anything. That'S going to make her feel like she needs to come in anytime soon. I asked her where she parts her hair and she always parts her hair, just kind of straight down the center. So that's actually going to make this really ideal for our foil placement. So we're going to start off by doing a little bit of a money piece and because she wants that a little bit more lower maintenance, we're going to weave it back comb. It and kind of do like a little bit of a zigzag parting. And i do that because i feel like it helps it break the color up a little bit more and give it even more of a blend, so we're just going to lightly feather that up into her roots and probably stay within an inch of her roots. So this is going to be our first foil placement, give her a little bit of brightness around the face, but nothing too heavy for this foil. We'Re going to do the same thing just directly behind that we're going to not really take a subsection, but that weaved out section is going to break up her hair and help it blend and you'll notice that i'm dropping it down just a little bit further. And that's kind of the whole point of this foil pattern is to stagger your foil sections, so the first one was up a little bit higher up to the scalp. The second one you can see is drop down. Maybe an inch inch and a half further, and this very next one is going to be the same. Exact thing zigzag parting, weave back comb, and this is going to drop down even further than those first two, and so that's going to help kind of create this natural soft blend, where it goes a little bit higher around the face and then kind of softly fades Down through the ends - and i really like doing this for bob's - because i feel like right now - the trend is not to have a lot of layers. I feel like it's more of like a choppy one length. Bob maybe break the ends up a little bit, but i feel like haircuts right now, generally, don't have a lot of layers in it and i feel like this is perfect for doing a color like this. If somebody wants like a balayage, but they have shorter hair, because the hair is all going to fall through the whole length of the haircut, so it's not like if they have a lot of layers their this top section is gon na like stop right above the Ear level or jaw length or whatever, like this hair, that we're doing right now is going to go all the way through the ends of the hair. So i feel like that's why this is perfect, because it's kind of gon na overlay, on top of the interior part of the haircut and it's gon na, look perfectly like everything was colored evenly, but we're just doing like minimal work. And this is perfect for somebody that wants low maintenance they kind of want to be in and out. They don't want to spend a lot of time in the salon, and you can just get this done really really quickly. So this next one right here that we're doing those first three were dropped down higher medium and the lower, and then this one that's kind of falling right in the middle of her head, where she parts her hair that one's going to go up again. A little bit closer up to the roots and that's going to create kind of that dimension. Where you have some highs and lows, and then this one right here we're going to drop back down a little bit, and this is going to be the foil. That kind of drapes over the back section of the head so um, that's it like this is literally the easiest foil placement that you could do. Sometimes i do this on people that have longer hair, but they kind of want like a partial balayage, but you know, maybe their budget is a little bit less, so you don't have all this time to spend doing their hair. I feel like this is perfect, because sometimes when you do a balayage, you have to really pay attention to okay on this side. I did this on that side. I did that where this just will fall evenly on both sides of the head, since we're doing it right at the top, so um yeah. I feel like this works perfectly for a bob, but you also have to keep in mind that i'm not doing any like framing around the temples. I'M not doing anything underneath. So if they want a lot of brightness, if they want a lot of color and movement and all of that stuff, then this might not be the foil placement for that client. So this is it just these foils that are kind of higher and lower than some of the other ones you can do like every other, high and low or whatever, like you, can create, whatever, whatever pattern that you want by doing this, depending on what the client Wants if they want like a high contrast where they want like just a little bit of highs, then this would be perfect. If they want like a little bit more streakiness, then you could do every other foil, higher and lower higher and lower, and so on. That will give you a little bit more like higher points in the hair than what i did for this client so um. You can really create a lot of different looks with this type of foil. Okay, so my client is done processing we just washed her out and because she said that she likes really like red colors um, but she wants something: that's not going to fade and red does fade, but also ash fades. So it's kind of hard. It'S kind of pointless to try to cool down or neutralize the warm thinner hair. So i figure it's better to just work with it. So what we're going to be doing is 565, which is a light chocolate gold and then i'm going to be adding some 777, which is a blonde copper and that's going to kind of give it a little bit extra like bright, not lightness but brightness, because we're Kind of toning it down, but i want it to have a little bit more, like reflection in the hair um, adding some copper in there will kind of give it a little bit more like it will help it feel brighter. Even though it's not necessarily light. So i'm just gon na do like half and half. This is what i mix in just half and half, and i'm letting this sit for probably like 15-20 minutes now we're going to go through and give her her quick little haircut and she said that she wants it pretty short, so we're cutting off a good couple Of inches, so this will be perfect for this color that we did it's just going to highlight this haircut really nicely. So i just wanted to insert this because i know i don't do a lot of haircuts on my videos, so sometimes i like to incorporate them when i can. I want to say for the color that i didn't get to is, if you're doing someone's hair - and you want to do this foil placement, but they part their hair more on the side. Just make sure that you're doing the foil off to the side where they part they're here. The only thing is that you might have to go back through and kind of do a few foils directly underneath on either side just to make sure you're making up. For that depth that you're going to be adding because you're doing less foil, less hair is going to fall on that side with the color on it. So you might want to just do like a foil or two directly underneath where the opposite side of where their hair parts? Okay, now that we have her baseline done, we're going to go through, and i'm just going to take my texturizing shears and point cut into the ends, and this is just going to give her a little bit of movement because she wants to break up her ends. A little bit, but she doesn't necessarily want a lot of layering, so this is kind of what i tend to do when somebody just wants, like a blunt cut, but you know you don't want it to look too choppy. You want to soften it up a little bit, and this is perfect for doing that without creating a whole bunch of layers me, so you can see here that those foils blend really nicely into her roots and everything just blends really really softly. I know sometimes it can be really scary going in and doing a foil this way, but you have to remember that you're weaving back combing really heavily. So if you do all those things, then you're going to soften it up at the root where it's going to kind of blend a little bit from the root to be brighter through the ends just make sure you're not taking too thick of sections. If you want to do like a higher contrast, higher dimension, then you could do like two packets back to back at the same like level where they might be closer up to the root, but because you're, weaving and back combing. It'S still going to be really soft. Through the root area, so you can see here that it really just blends nicely throughout her whole head. You can see it goes a little bit brighter towards the face. She'S got some of those higher pieces through the middle of her hair and then it kind of blends really softly through the back. So i think this is perfect. It kind of takes the guesswork out of how to do a balayage on shorter hair. So here's her before again - and here is her after you can see everything just looks really pretty it blends kind of fades from the front down through the mid. Then we have that higher point and then through the ends and everything. So i hope you guys like this. I hope you try this out. I hope you like it just it literally is the easiest thing. This was six foils. I would probably put price this service at like 150 dollars with the haircut so um. It'S just a really quick in and out service. However, if you end up foiling more and doing more highlights around the face and through the interior of the hair, then i would maybe bump it up to like 175 or something so thanks again, you guys for watching this. I hope you like this video and don't forget to like and subscribe. You
