Why does your hair flip out on the ends? That is a topic of today's video, and this is going to be a pretty straightforward, video and i'll try to simplify this as best as i possibly can and coming from a hair stylist point of view. This is a extremely easy fix, but i get so many questions about this topic. So there's a few things and i found a mannequin right here - that literally happens to have these little flips right through here. So, as you can see right there, it's got some flip action going on right in through here now. If you are not a fan of that and you're like i hate this, what do i do? There'S a couple of things or reasons why one it could be. The haircut itself now, if your hair is improperly layered, it's going to cause the hair to shift and take form in a bunch of unnatural patterns. So if it's kind of really choppy or botched up, what's going to happen, is the hair is not going to lay and blend into itself properly. So it's going to create all sorts of weird movements and i've seen it a million times just from bad haircuts and bad layering. If it's over layered and then there's no layering between, say, as you can see, this side is laying down perfectly flat. So if this is all blended in down to the very very bottom, it's going to lay nice and smooth right and you're going to have that flow. No matter what you do, the hair is going to just fall into place now this is cut the same way on this side. It just so happens that this mannequin was, i don't even know, laying around and had like 10 heads on it. So this this is like what happens when you get bed head, and this is the only example i could find with this type of scenario going on. So if the hair is say really really kind of short in through here and then this is really long on the bottom. But the in between right in here the in between pieces are not blended. It'S going to cause a problem, as you can see in the close-up is say: the hair is pulled out to here and then all this, let's just hide that hair is cut right. Now we got this cut and then it goes into this length. So, as you can see, there's a pretty severe disconnection right there if your hair is cut this way and the hair just lays on top of that, it's going to cause all sorts of weird movement going on and it's not going to lay right. So it's going to look like it's very spacey. It'S going to look like it's really really a disaster, so there are a few really really simple ways that you can actually fix this situation, one i would suggest wetting down or spraying this area with a spray bottle and then go back in and re-blow dry it With the blow dryer using either a vent brush like this, this is my anti-static vent brush, which i do sell on my website. It'S an ideal brush for just brushing through longer hair types, and it's really amazing right and then you can kind of just rework the entire section. I don't want to turn blow dryer on just because of noise purposes, but you want to really wrap the hair around right. So let's mock mock it. So what we're doing is we're wrapping around like this with the blow dryer and we're starting to move the hair into a different type of shape. So if the hair is going one way, you want to actually blow dry it to go the opposite way and, as you can see already what's happening, is the hair is starting to have a much nicer flow as compared to before right, whereas before it was just A complete mess now it's starting to have look a little bit better and then you brush it back and then what's going to happen, is the hair, hopefully will fall much better now. The thing is is that the hair is flipping on the ends. So what we need to focus on is exactly that is turning these ends under and that's where the technique of the blow drying comes in, where we take the hair, lock it into the brush, use the blow dryer and work it down this way, so that we're Straightening this all right, you really honestly need to use water just because that's going to really reset the hair, and then you could also use this is the tick tocker hair brush the two inch thermal ceramic hair brush, which has you know, heat protection on it? It'S an amazing amazing brush. That'S in my tic-tocker hairstyle kit! This is going to be really really ideal. If you lock the brush in and then go down this way, because that heat from the barrel is going to really help smooth that out and then when you blow dry it under, it's really really really going to help all right. So the reason this isn't working as well as it should is because the hair is dry and that's the big difference. I want you to see sometimes it's just as difficult, because the hair dry, especially if you have bed head or something it's like taking an iron and putting a wrinkle onto a shirt, it's just gon na stay there, no matter what you got ta, you know really Work hard at getting that wrinkle out or re-wet it right or spray down the shirt. That'S why there's water a sprayer in the iron, so you can kind of reset and start all over again. So you know it's really comes down to having the right haircut and then using the right blow-dry technique to fix it. That is pretty much it. So let me know if you found this video helpful if you try these techniques and they work wonders for you, i would love to know so. Thank you all so much for watching. Don'T forget to like comment and subscribe and i'll see you next time for more videos with a salon.

The Brick Lord: I like when it does it because it makes me feel like I actually have wavy hair lol even tho my hair is like twice the length of that manikin

Squigga: I actually like it when it flips. But I don’t like it when the other half doesn’t flip, only my right side does it Edit: update a year later, my left side now is the only side that flips and my right side doesn’t do it anymore

Toast: I’m a man and I’m trying to get long hair. It goes down to my back when it’s wet. I hate when it curls at the back ends. This helps a little. Thank you for your help!!

Robin B: My hair flips towards my face on one side. This helped so much. I brushed all of my hair over to one side, and styled it with my flat iron as usual. So, when I brushed the hair back to the other side as normal, it did not flip toward my face. Thanks!(Wetting my hair was not an option since I'm at work)

Kowshik: I requested this video a few months back. Thanks a lot for uploading. Now I'll get rid of the ugly flip outs of my back hair.

Perf Tae: 2:45 Thank me later guys

JDamian Rodrgz: Thank you sir, now that I am out of the marines I am not used to my hair being long it's a learning experience for me.

LS: I had longer side bangs I guess flip out due to a really bad bob haircut I tried. It was near my chin and bent out at almost a 90 degree angle. I hope trying these methods work!

Jake: Iv had longish hair for about 14 years. In the past it was always fine, it naturally fell exactly how I wanted. And if I ever did straighten it, it would stay that way until I washed it. For some reason, after a haircut in January 2020, my hair has always flipped out on one side. Iv had my hair cut 6 or 7 times since, and its always the same. If I can get it to dry the way I want, it'll be flipped out again in the morning, and if I straighten it, it'll normally be flipped out again within an hour. Even more so if there's and wind, rain, or humidity. My hair just seemed to randomly change, and I have no idea how to fix it.

Jennifer: I feel like the stupidest person ever!! My bang hair kept flipping out on one side at the end and I just rewet it and blow dried it again. Came out perfect. Thank you so so much for this easy trick. It’s my fault cutting my own hair all the time now since COVID, I think I’m a stylist now

quack: my hair goes down to my lower eyes. what I do is that I just move it to one side, straighten it down a little, and then it’s done! so so so glad I can fix it now!

yabokuro: I literally got the exact same haircut and the flipping is annoying as hell, so thanks

aladding: “It is gonna be a STRAIGHT FORWARD video”, I know it probably wasn’t intentional but I love it

Ramzi Khoury: Thanks very much.. This is why I am against layering for myself as I like it to fall straight with healthy looking ends.. Happy new year good man

: My hair doesn't flip out nicely like that. I could wash and moisturize my hair and it curves/ flips out all weirdly :/ it doesn't just lay nicely with a good shape

MaxSoutham: I have that exact curl on one side of my hair, if it was on both sides I wouldn't really care, but it just looks really uneven, so I'll get a haircut to see if that fixes it

ak..lxei,..,💤: THIS IS WHAT I NEED TvT My left hair is perfect and strait but my right side normally laying on the other side so when I bring it to the other side it just flips and triggers me

Leo: the problem that i have is that one side is wavy ad the other one is straight and i want them both to be wavy

Welcome to the Man Family: Thank you for this i just recently got my hair cut by the top style director (i chose him for fear of my hair getting messed up) i got a sit on the shoulders layered bob cut and the left side blow dries under beautifully but the other side flicks out no matter what I do to it - beyond annoyony considering its no less than £100 for a cut alone with him

L Ga: I needed to find a video like it because I had to ask the stylist who last cut my hair this month why my last haircut by another place made my bangs way more flippy I'm unsure I used the word flyaway correctly. The haircut in January is when I think any of my flipping on both sides of bangs, and oh at that time I still had my hair part on left and the person cut my bangs way shorter than I wanted; most of the past few years I'd get long layers, hair still with most of its natural part on my left side, and I've tried to have side bangs for numerous years. I need to kind of know why some of the ends of my bangs even after my newer haircut do more flips. it seems often it does it more if I wear any glasses after a shower though I'm unsure it's forcing it. I need to try some of the techniques though I have a round brush (I don't have a vent brush). I want to know what to put in hair especially those bangs ends if they sometimes flip in more than one direction. Tonight, after very little time wrapped in a towel, like maybe under 5 minutes, and a lot of air drying because I did other things, and I put nothing in hair for styling yet (I only put regrowth spray), they did crazy stuff. I work odd hours overnight, and I do a bunch of physical work, so I sweat a bit, and Vegas heat going up past 80's so can be hotter in warehouse. I end shift before noon. I might not always get to be home due to a few errands, so best to shower before bedtime to feel better, though unsure when (and sometimes how) to style the bangs (I was a bit too emotional during the most recent haircut because I didn't use semi-permanent hair dye correctly earlier that week, and there were unexpected visitors in town. I just wanted to look way better because not always knowing how to style the hair, well bangs, especially after hair got thinner again and needed regrowth spray tried, and my brain was so preoccupied with wondering how the style will look because for months I didn't want to be in photos or on live video of other people. Anyways, sorry, I'll try to see if I can use a round brush that way though my bangs are about 1-2" shorter than your model's. I don't know if mousse is a bad idea if my bangs can get a bit puffy with the air dry. I don't have the same heat protectant spray my last stylist used, only because I still had another one a tried from Ulta which also is for anti-frizz, and maybe frizz is an issue for me too.

cami ༺: thank u imma try this tmr. my bangs keep flipping out on the left side! its so annoying and looks awful on me

wafflepawn: i needed this so bad

Eric: Any hairstyles for facial asymmetry for round faces?

Sahil Raut: Video starts at 2:52

Googlemarie: Thank you I will try that!

Hilih Hilih: thankyou so much sir, it helped me a lot for my hair problem, mine is getting better after i do it

mar k: What if your hair is puffy when it dries?

Lemon Grab: Bruh this is the exact problem i have. I have the flips but it's only on the right side. I try to flip it but it's impossible.

TheCheeserax: Maaaan I want this guy to be my barber

Sunny head: Since high school I chop the front of my hair, yknow just to trim my bangs and it’s been a few months since the left part of my bangs lift. Every time I shower it’ll be normal but when I dry it, naturally or with a hairdryer it ends up being like that ;-;

Kay Rene'e: omg this happens to the left back side of my head. i use my hairdryer rolling brush

Elysia: what if my hair flips out that way at the end of my hair at the back of my head. instead of curling inwards it just flips out how do I stop that

Lucas Gumby: But what if I wanted it to be more flipped? How do I get it more flipped?

Jennifer: I also should of never cut my hair to have bangs it took so long to grow out the length of my hair and now I want them back. How do I do this now exactly? Oh boy oh boy

aSantos 11: im growing my hair but it never stays like that :(

YT imndrrw: can you make a video on how to stop your undercut from bouncing while running or working out

Fluffy: is it me or does it look better flipped out

saki is the prettiest: Just got a new haircut (short hair) and the other one is flipping out and the other one doesn't

Praneeta O'Connor: Very helpful

L Ga: it is harder to not see it being done on someone in real time withnneary exact same issue as mine, I guess but I tried to follow some of this late at night before my shift but after a few hours of sleep which wasn't enough, to be hinest. i only re-wet bangs with some water an the anti-frizz + heath protectant John Frieda spray I have on hand, but I think I can't smooth out all ends because a lot is bbut to go towards one way, as in swoop to cover right sise of forehead with my part still mostly on left but goes in back near middle. I will later see if any on this channel have a demo on a real person too

Catgirl680: i already do this exactly and it still flips out.

Ratchet 0401: And what about if it flips in?

Ricardo Gutiérrez: What about the opposite. How do you flip out?

Ruoye: My hair reaches around my armpit and istg it flips like 3 inches up, I've had this problem since i was a kid lol

Tom_idk: Can you make it flip out with just a haircut?

Liviu Pistol: It really helped

Teacher Mama: I brought my daughter to a hair stylist because I need to have her hair cut shorter (just past the shoulders, because her hair was on elbow level then). I was so disappointed because the “stylist” did a lousy job. My daughter’s hair is beautiful, straight and healthy (he said it himself). But after he cut it, the ends flip and fly away. Also, there are uneven cuts (long bunches if hair sticking out). The ends looked like a broom! He did the cutting so swiftly and improperly, he didn’t even check at the end if it looked good. It was a disaster! I asked him to fix it, but what he did was just to cut the whole thing straight like cutting cloth while my daughter was standing, blowdried it and that was it. He didn’t cut it layer by layer and it ended up just a tad bit better but still flips. We just decided to leave for fear that her hair will just get shorter and shorter and this “stylist” obviously didn’t know how to do the job. What he did to my daughter’s hair I could literally do by myself— and that was exactly why I opted for an expert’s help, to avoid a disaster. But Oh well...

KUKUKUKUKYUKU: Does trimming the hair fix these??

Armaan Kashani: Can you please do an updated ross lynch hairstyle? Thanks!

Cat: i recently tried cutting my side bangs and i screwed up bc my stylist ruined my curtain bangs and i tried to fix it and now it looks horrible and idk what to do :(

Joe: On the side of my head, the bottom hair flips outwards, it looks like I’m wearing a permanent Russian fur hat.

daniel: the entire left side of my hair has this lightning bolt shaped curve and my right just does whatever it wants to

JustAnotherGuy21: I had medium length hair and a mullet, then I got an undercut I believe in early August. Now my hair in the very front is long enough to go in my mouth, but the sides are just starting to go over my ears but don't cover them completely yet. The back is the shortest but the back top goes down over it. My ultimate goal is long hair, as in past my shoulders, like guys in medieval movies or like Brad Pitt had in Troy. I'm 37, but still look much younger, and I've always had a good thick head of hair. My question is, will it eventually get to the length I'm wanting if I just don't think about it and let it grow, even if it takes another 2 years? I know hair doesn't grow fast and I know how to be patient, I'm just asking if I did the right thing getting an undercut (cause I wasn't fond of the mullet)

Noah David: Can you do more videos for thinning guys?

Pipam: I got flashbacks from when i cut my hair a month ago when he said it might be because ur hair is improperly layered

Kagetsku: My hair flips forward (like goes straight forward from my face), do i hold it back if I don't have a blow-dryer?

Z Man: Always wanted mine to flip

# venus!!——🎸 …: the wig straight up looks like my hair , but mine is chin height ! i sometimes struggle with this in the mornings , ty <3 it’s a little freaky that even the colour is the same

GOSTanimator To: I got one side under cut but my other side hair where it drops it gets curly

Jack Murnane: It's strange cause I wasn't even looking for this video but I have this problem. My guy really is just reading my mind lmao

jtuno122: Why not just cut the hair properly? If my hair is cut right, I wash and wear.

ace cubing: how do you make it flip up ?

Deru: Wish that's how my hair flips like the mannequin's

Seif Nadeem: I just straighten the side that flips and sleep on it

Oliver Sørensen: Tik Tok guys will be getting mad over this lmao

cptbalao: I had doubts learning fixing hair from a bald guy but hey. It works "I guide others to a treasure i cannot posses" red skull

Haitani Ran: I WISH MY HAIR IS LIKE THAT

Reconstructing Leslie: My hair is awful! It’s so thick I can’t do anything with it but bun it… it looks like a big old pouf! I’m trying to grow it out. I cut it short for surgery so trying to grow. When I get it layered they give me a mullet ‍♀️

Xenocide - Agario: But how do we create the flips? My hair is very straight but I like the look of the flip

Joe: Love how the guy is bald telling me about hair

Lord R.: I got a haircut/barber cut last year it made my hair dry and wavy.. my hair was straight before the haircut the barber also cut my hair really short, I don’t know what happened but if anyone knows what happened please tell me I really want to get my straight hair back, I’ve been trying products to straighten my hair but none of them worked.

Ray Jones: never trust a bald guy to give hair advice

Shreya: The Maniquine: haveing a lil hair filp.... Meanwhile me : having all of my hair fliped at the end snd looking like a mushroom

rascal dreams of waifus: I kinda like the hair flipped, how do you get it flipped though?

aSantos 11: I want my hair to flip like this

Paul Mayo: I like this kind of hairstyle.

Chirpy: Can’t you just use a hair straightener ?

Bert Francis: that's my big problem

Ben Chant: I want mine to flip :(

ryan: is there any way to make my hair clean and silk? like i dont understand why my hair looks like splitting although its not when i take 1 string of it.

Ep1cMau75: Can you do the Eddie Van Halen hair style?

cedric: i wish my hair would do this

yana: i wanna know *how* to make it flip outwards

shaikh ahtesham: Thanks for the video Stephen sir

Kata: I once had my hair cut by my relative, but she cut it straight without doing layering, and it flipped up from the ends, but I still don't get why?

iisshhh: My hair got flip from down what the hate the most I live straight hair and my hair is but this flip word destroy my hair

frxsti: So how do i flip my hair

Top Dog Gaming: Can you pleas do the haircut from wayne the main character I have a similar length in my hair and wanted to see I could make mine look like his thanks

L Ga: sorry about my long previous comment which I might edit a bit another time. I might not also keep a mini flat iron. My cut of the bangs are maybe not for much straightening if I used at least one photo off pinterest which was with a girl with straight hair, bangs to same side like me. I'm unsure how my hairdresser of that day made my bangs similar to the photo, not too curving and I forget if hairspray was part of it. It was a nerve wracking afternoon before that mini reunion and having to sleep before work. I liked the curls on sides and back of hair. I can't get my bangs to not be puffy, whether air dried, or well, sometimes I use a mousse, if even okay, also with the John Frieda heat protectant/anti-frizz spray I usually try out. I'll be looking out for good replies to either comment of mine.

ManguitoSKRRT: do the Mark Mckenna hairstyle during the wayne show please:))

Lycoris Radiata: Do you have a video for this haircut?

Flukeyy: I'd kill for this hair

A_SHINNOBI 1221: Thank you

Stephen Coe: Does this guy know how to cut hair to correct or does he only know how to blow dry? Maybe a stylist needs hair to relate.

XXXOD: How do we get hair flips? I like how that looks

Amir: so how do i make it straight again? lol my hair used to be thick and straight, there’s this one time where i get a haircut then it suddenly flipped out, AROUND MY HEAD. it’s annoying. now it has become wavy, and at the end of it, it becomes curly af urgh

Twiyor: Oh so all i need is a hair blower? To make my hair look good

spirals 73: "Mannequin" is hard to spell but fortunately Google can help.

Ian Gardoña: waiting for a two block haircut

Yitlerwestlover911: thank you
