Don't Forget To Live Your Extra Life.

Hello beautiful did you know that your hairstyle could possibly be aging. You ew getting older is scary. Luckily, there's so many different ways. You can change up your hairstyle, so you age backwards instead of forwards. You know what i mean and i'm definitely definitely gon na offend some people in today's video, but you don't have to look younger if you don't want to so only proceed past this point. If you want the brutally honest truth of what hairstyles are aging you and how to reverse that clock with some easy changes, let's play game, this game is called hot or not it's where you guess. If the hairstyle is hot or not aka, if it's gon na aid you or if it's not, we have 10 rounds. Okay, so you have 10 chances to get the answers correct and the more answers you get right, the better you could possibly win the game and win absolutely nothing. So, let's play okay. We have up first, a curly moment. Here is a side by side which curly hair wouldn't age you and which would age you. Is it this one or this one? Five, four, three, two one: if you chose this one, you would be correct. This is the hot one. The other one is the not hot one: okay and we'll go over the reasons why, after the game, but right now, you're just trying to get as many correct in a row as you possibly can. Okay, this one. Oh, this one's spicy, okay, which one of these volumist out of this world blowout, looks what age you. If you picked this one as not hot, you would be correct. Yeah, it's not hot. Let'S just leave it at that. Okay, ooh! We have a bob. Now the bob can go right. Oh the bob can go wrong. Okay, here's our first bob, oh ooh, here's our second bob, oh ah, which one's gon na age you and which one won't. If you picked this one as not hot, you would be correct. This one is not hot okay, oh it's getting harder and harder in here this one, this one's a tough one, so we have bangs, okay, a fringe. If you will, we have this fringe, miss taylor, swift or we have this fringe, which one is hot and which one is not. You have five seconds on the clock. Five, four: three, two one: if you chose this one as being hot, you would be correct. This one is hot that fringe. It'S perfect, okay, now face framing layers. Should we style them like this or style it them like this? Oh, what do you think both pretty but which one would make you look younger tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock, tick, tock, tick! Tock! You must put your answer right now. If you chose this one as being not hot you'd be correct. This one's, not hot. Okay, we'll go over it later, but it's not oh the wavy hair, the tousled lived-in. Look, it can go right or it could go wrong, it could be dated or it could be updated, which one is it gon na be for you this one as being dated, or is it going to be this one? As dated that's a tough one, i will say who came up with this game. This is tough, oh wait. I did. Okay, your answers are locked in. If you chose this one as being hot, you would be correct. You should be getting most of these right by the way. So, if you're not well, concerning say the least, we are back at the bob or in the bob styling region. Now, should you style your bob like this or like this, both pretty but which one would make you look younger. Oh this one's tough! If you said that this one is not hot you'd be correct, that one is hot but not to make you look younger ooh. The updo specifically the bun, this one can age you if it's not done right, miss jennifer lopez, and then we have this random girl, which one is hot, which one is not i'm not speaking who's, the hotter one. Okay, we're talking about hair here, oh i mean yeah they're, both pretty cute. You know, i don't know, do you know which one is which do you know which one is high which one's? Not if you chose miss jenny from the block as being hot? Absolutely you are correct. I mean hell yeah, that updo is fire. Okay, the ponytail here are our two options, which one could be either or it could be one that's hot and one. That'S not all right answers in. If you chose this one, you would be correct in thinking this one is not hot, it's not it's just not. Why is it so droopy? And lastly, let's talk about parts which one would be optimal for making you look the youngest this part on miss lauren conrad, or this part on this random girl. This one's kind of easy, i think for most people, which one is it gon na be. If you chose miss lauren, comrade as being the not hot one, you'd be correct, that is our last and final round. Guys add up your numbers. Let me know what you got scream it out loud. If you got below six right, i am concerned. We have some work to do now. I'M gon na explain to you why the one that is hot is hot and why the one that isn't isn't and why, if you choose the hot one, it's gon na aid you back instead of forward, let's review the exam. Now let me preface everything i'm about to say by saying that you can do whatever you want with your own hair, okay you're, watching this video, though to get pointers on how to look younger. So i'm going to give you that today, however, even these not hot, looks have a place, they can be great, they can be cool, but in general these looks are things that can make you look older. So if you want to drop the ears off your age, then listen up and don't shoot the messenger. Okay, the curl there's a way to do the curl right and there's a way to do the curl wrong. You see these two images, the one that's hot is giving me cute. It'S also wavy, it's not exactly curly, but honestly, i would just stay away from tight curls in general, unless your hair is naturally curly, i'm not talking about natural curls. Okay, i'm talking about things that you do to your hair to style it that make you look older all right so before all the curly girls come after me, i'm not talking about your natural damn curls these curls that look like they were done with a one Inch curling iron and they haven't been raked out with your fingers or brush like they don't look great. They often tend to age you, because this was something we were doing way back in the day. It'S come out of style for the past like 10 years. So, let's stop using so much hairspray and definitely make sure we rake out those curls and run your hands through it and loosen things up and that will literally make you look so much younger and so much more refreshed and refined. Try using the same curling iron. But wrap the hair around instead of doing it like this, these give you older, looking curls and very rigid looking curls, whereas when you wrap it around, it gives you more of a wavy curl. I, like it better, it makes you look younger or you can even stick with doing it, the old-fashioned way, the old type of curl and then raking your fingers through. At the end, this one may seem obvious a lot of older women like to tease the under their hair and hair spray, that out of it, which is great, i love a good tease. I love a good hairspray. I love good volume, but there's a way of doing it. That makes you look fun and refreshed, and it's this at least it's giving something. We don't want to make your hair look like a helmet and look hard and look rigid. We want movement, we want teasing. We want messiness that will make you look like you're trying less hard, and it's going to make. You appear younger. Okay, we don't want this. Super duper polished, like perfect, stiff rock hair. Also, just like i said before, if you're gon na do a curl, please break it out with your fingers or a brush smooth things out. You want softness this blonde. Look. It can still aid you a bit honestly. The whole extreme volume type of hair definitely puts a few years on, but i think this is a much more modern, updated fun way of doing it with all these flips going in all different directions. The hair is a little messier, it's teased, but it's still sexy and fun and overall feels a little more youthful. This one is like the one of all the ones today, because the a-line bob, which is this moment where it comes like really short in the back and longer in the front - i'm not even gon na, say this one is good in general. I don't like this. One i don't i this one is just it gives me nightmares, it does ever since hair school. I think i gave one person in my life an a-line bob and i'm so sorry to that person. I will never forgive myself for doing that to you, but you can do it in an updated way. Okay, this bob is not exactly a-line. It has a little bit of that a-line quality, but it is modernized. You saw that a-line in the back that little tiny bit of stacking, but it's not overly layered, and it's not literally going off your forehead and defying gravity. It looks like this person has a growth coming out of the back of their head and honestly. This look was so popular back in the day and it's just completely faded out of style, and i don't see it coming back anytime soon. It'S not flattering for your head shape or your age, so stop it. We'Ve made it to the fringe. So this super rounded boxy, looking fringe that is literally perfect, is not going to cut it these days. Okay, it used to be cool, it used to be the thing, but now we want razor. We want like that shredded sexy, lived-in fringe. It'S all about the lived-in. Look the whole lived-in but refined. Look will decrease your age by a lot all right, it'll take the years off. You also always want to make sure your fringe lays at the perfect point on your face. Okay, you want it just below the eyebrow and you want to style it with the hair going on all different directions, not just down and in okay down and in ages you wispy and away in all different directions. Doesn'T you don't want a block on your head? You want spaces in between the fringe as well face framing layers. We'Ve been hearing all about layers these days, all right. It'S all the rage. Everybody wants layers, everybody wants that intense face frame, which i dig it so much. It'S super cute. It'S a pretty timeless look, but you can definitely sell it wrong alright, so this hair is an example of it styled wrong. You can tell if they just use like this four inch round brush and everything is just inwards towards her face. It'S not ugly, but it's not optimal for looking more youthful. What is optimal, for that is doing a more wavy lived-in sort of look. Do you see the overarching idea here lived in, but sexy and refined at the same time? That is the overarching idea. I'M trying to get at today, so you can do that blow out the same way. You always do it, but then use a giant, curling iron and just loosely put in a few waves just to mess up that blowout a little bit and give it some irregularity. That will help. Give you that younger vibe all around so definitely keep your layers, but definitely style them differently. Okay, we're talking about it! We'Re talking about the wave. The wave can go wrong and so right. At the same time, the wave is just like the go-to look. If you want to look young, it's always trendy, it's always going to be trendy and it's always cute. So the tighter the wave, the older you're going to look the more refined the wave, the older you're gon na. Look the looser and the less defined the wave is, the younger. You will look, it's pretty easy, this one honestly so use a bigger barrel, curling iron, if your hair is long and can handle it and use it at a lower temperature. That way, you just get a very loose little crimp on your hair instead of super tight waves, they're all like uniform and ugly okay styling, your bob. We talked earlier about what bob is best, but now we're going to talk about the real styling of a bob, because that is also important. We want to avoid bobs that go in like this. If you want to look the youngest we're not going to do this whole thing, okay, the little it's trendy, it's fun, it's very cute on some people, but it can definitely aid. You instead opt for using a curling iron on top of your blowout and just turning some of those ends in and out. Also, if you're good with a blow dryer and a round brush use a small round brush and twist the brush as you blow dry and you'll get some of that movement on the top of your hair, to not make it look so uniform and so blown inwards. Let'S avoid the blown inwards hair if we want to decrease in age in the blink of an eye, all right, the updo, the bun. If you want to look younger and you want to look snatched and you're going out somewhere fancy or you're just honestly going to work out, this is such an easy way of getting rid of wrinkles, like literally giving yourself a face, lift it is so good. Oh, my god, can i tell you if i had long hair, i would be snatching that shop every time i have something to do the tighter you pull back your hair, the more your face is going to lift and the more snatch and younger you're gon na Look make sure if you don't have a great hairline fill in your hair with some makeup. You don't want your hairline to look like it's back here. You know bring that forward, but also pull it back at the same time. You know what i mean. Choosing a look that is much higher on your head: will kind of suction, lift everything up and back so opt for something that is higher and slicked back. Rather than doing something like this, where the fringe is kind of down in front of the face, it can be pretty, but the whole slick back moment is going to make you look a bit more young, also adding a lot of height and volume up here to An updo don't do it. Unless you want to look older, it is not cute anymore, i don't love it and it only works in very few occasions. It also tends to just lengthen people's faces and if you have any kind of sagging skin down here, you don't want to lengthen it even more the ponytail. There is a way to do it and there's a way to not do it to make. You look younger, believe it or not. Now this one that is sort of drooping, it's bringing her whole vibe down, it's bringing the face down the droopier, the pony, the droopier the face. We have that kind of like wispy pieces in the front that don't need to be there instead opt for, like we said before, something that is super snatched and super high. This will bring the eyes up and all the skin up and the face up it'll make you look so much younger, it's much more youthful and also make sure that ponytail is not drooping. Please put another elastic, do whatever you need to do, use a hair bungee. Anything look up some tutorials also a good pointer is putting your head back. While you put the ponytail in and then bringing it forward once it's done. That will make sure your hair is the tightest back here. It can possibly be when you install the pony haha. I saved the most controversial one for last and that is the part the side part versus the middle part. Now we found earlier in our game that the middle part is more optimal to look younger and it's true guys. No, i don't have any problem with a side part. I actually tend to style people with side parts all the time, but if you want to look the youngest possible, you should stay with the trends and the trend is to part your hair in the middle. I do think it looks great on mostly everybody pretty much and it's a beautiful way of just changing up your look, really quick and making you look younger if you have a part that goes from like here to here decrease it. I don't need you just part in the middle, but at least decrease it. Okay start going more towards the middle. We don't want it over here. That will aid you and make you look like you're stuck in the past. Don'T do that. Those are all the ways you can easily change up your style and look much younger. I hope that if you want to look younger, you take a few of these things and try them out, and i hope, if you're not interested at all, you do you do what makes you happiest and makes you feel the most confident, and that is the way You will win if you would like to check me out anywhere else. Everything that i make and we have fabulously comfy merch - that's all for today guys thank you so much for watching, don't forget to leave your extra light and i'll see you next time. Bye, guys you

elizaaajane: I agreed with all of then except for the bun. A messy bun is definitely a younger hairstyle than a slick and tight bun, in my opinion, which is purely based on my preference and nothing else lol

Anna K: Our obsession with women's youth is really uncomfortable. Men are allowed to age while women have to constantly worry how to look the youngest as we possibly can. And the beauty industry is THRIVING because of it. Teen girls are buying anti-wrinkle creams and 20-year-olds are getting botox. It's freaky and so harmful for women.

Jayne H: From an "older" woman's POV (I'm 50). As a lot of people have commented, this is just what's trendy as opposed to aging. I've had the tight curls, the A-line Bob, the thick fringe, the thin wispy fringe, the tight pony, the looser pony, the side part, the middle part, the face framing layers, the scruffy layers, pretty much all of these hairstyles I've had at one time or another. And it's always been whatever happens to be in trend and suits my face shape. The ones considered aging will be back in trend soon enough, you'll see.

Kira: Let's stop making aging a bad thing.

Lulu lu: I think we should normalise women looking old and still be beautiful. I know this Video doesn't had the Intention to bring of this message, but its still giving me the "women shouldn't look old"

Sara D: The problem is once you reach a certain age, following the youthful trends can actually age you because it looks like you're trying to look like a teenager when you're clearly older. I think the best way to age gracefully is to adopt a more classic/timeless look. And there is nothing wrong with looking older and like a mature woman. Besides many of the "hot" looks just looked sloppy and unkempt to me. The pulled back ponytails always look harsh to me, so I would never wear a pony like that. I prefer a softer more feminine look. Honestly, I can't stand current trends, so I just do my own thing.

Cake Boss: As a hairstylist of 20 Years, growing out the shag/wolf cut mullet situation is GONNA BE A NIGHTMARE growing out all them damn layers. Good luck and may tha force be with ya!

Yasmine Galenorn: Okay, Brad, you're great but you DO realize you have a large older woman demographic and not all of us are afraid of being our age. I'm headed toward 61. I'm successful and happy, and I'll dye my hair whatever color I want and wear it how I am most comfortable with because...I didn't get to this age just to fear the social stare. I'm also heavily inked...people need to be happy in their skin and their styles, whatever they may be.

Tabby: This is probably one of the first videos of Brad's that I'm just not here for. Hair is an expression of oneself that the wearer can do what they please with. These are just trends. I'm imagining someone with self-doubt or image issues, watching this and judging their "hotness" based on a certain style. I'm someone with one of the "not" haircuts but I'm also one of those people who doesn't give a fudge brownie, but it makes me worried about others. Love you guys

Linwarai Linoodlin: this only applies to white people honestly, some of the “not hot” ones are pretty popular in asia and they look gorgeous! definitely doesn’t make people look older

Not Your Average GLOW Up: This video isn’t about “aging” this is about trends. Some of these “hot looks” look terrible on certain faceshapes. There is a difference between a style aging you and a style being dated. A hairstyle that ages you (like the title implies) has a cut or style that dosnt suit your faceshape or color washes you out. Yes these cuts are what’s in and trending but if you truly want to look younger (not just trendy) you need to make sure the cut and color actually suit your faceshape and skin tone. These shag cuts though super cute and trendy can make you look dramatic older if not suited to your face. All that layering can draw attention to facial features and cast shadowing where you don’t want it. Just a thought

Kelley Woods: Brad, dear.... I'm 55 and I can tell you, by the time you get to middle age you don't give a fiddler's fart about what others think regarding hairstyles and clothes etc. That's the best part about getting older, so liberating

Sunni Yun: “Aging” isnt scary, stop perpetuating the idea that women who ‘show’ their age are undesirable and “not hot” lmao

RICHEL- Go To My ChanneI! L!VE NOW: I agree with everyone in the comments. The “hot” hairstyles are just the trends right now. There’s nothing wrong with the other looks they’re just not super trendy right now so they’re considered “old

fellowoffreedom: Brad has clearly never spent the whole day with a snatched bun/pony. Doing that just for an 8 hour work day makes my scalp feel bruised Also, I'm noticing that "lived in" just equals "messy", which I honestly don't mind because I'm lazy and love a second day loose curl.

Alex S.: For years everyone said: „A middle part makes you look older“ Now it‘s the other way around. Just shows how fast fashion changes.

chiatt26: This video really missed the mark for me. I love brad’s videos, but I’m not sure what was worse, viewing aging as such a huge negative, using only women as the example, or the one size fits all approach to “hot or not” with no regard for face shape and hair texture. Still a big fan, nothing but love, but I wish he would’ve focused on trendy hairstyles for a variety of hair types and faces without the emphasis on youth

Oonagh72: Fun fact: a hairstyle that looks good on you is hot. Period. I wish people would stop listening to this mindless drivel. A look in which you are confident and comfortable is all you need.

Panikpony: Usually I enjoy Brad's videos, but come on, this is just a bunch of trends and in a year or two this video will be horribly outdated. Let people style their hair how it works and looks best for them! Blindly following trends makes you look like a 12-year-old, and not in a good way. Women are allowed to look older if it suits them better! I'm calling bs on this video.

Charli Webb: Love Brad and I love watching his videos usually he's my fave for cheering myself up but I had to stop watching this, I don't like the vibe of this video. Why is aging a bad thing? Are we not past this now? Surely this video should be more based on current trends? Life doesn't end at 30 people

Mimi NewBean: I agree with everyone in the comments. The “hot” hairstyles are just the trends right now. There’s nothing wrong with the other looks they’re just not super trendy right now so they’re considered “old”

Jaime S: I love you and your channel Brad! One wish of mine is that people learn to embrace and love aging and find beauty and Grace in age and not try to stop it at all costs.

Heather M: This video made me laugh. When I was in high school (15 years ago) the middle part was deemed "too old" and the side part was the trend to look young. Now it's the opposite. Just wear your hair how you want, you're all beautiful no matter what. ❤️

Juliette Ferrars: Why is aging seen as a tragedy instead of a blessing? All women are beautiful. The experience and wisdom that comes from aging is something to revere, not fear. ❤️

R W: Brad and everyone else. Please stop thinking that aging is SCARY! If you look up the history of why women's aging especially is frowned upon, you'll see that it's based is really misogynistic traditions. Edit: my mom rocked a middle part in the 70s, I did in the 90s, and if I had children they would be too

dk: We need to stop thinking that aging is scary.

Ci chan: The curls voted as “NOT HOT” don’t look fake, it looks like a lot of people’ completely natural hair….

Serena: Get real. This is all about how to get that clichè look in what is currently trending, NOT 'how to look younger'. Just because it looks hot on a celebrity does not mean they all will look hot on everyone. To look young is different for everyone depending on texture, facial features & ethnicities. Half the women on here are literally still young or look young because of plastic surgery & botox. But shit I suppose all middle age women should just slap on a current taylor swift or Selena Gomez style to look young again, how easy.

Catherine Smitko: brad, i love you and truly appreciate your expertise…this type of content would be waaaaay more relevant if these style were shown on women with some actual age…none of these look really aging when we are looking at them on 26 year olds….and thank you for all of your guidance over the years xoxoxo

Lisa Fuqua: One thing I would love to see you tackle is how some of us have our hair type changes as we age. I have always had hair that was about as close to 1-A as it gets and now I have 2B at 40 and it's pretty shocking.

Rebecca Jones: Being older doesn't have to be scary. I don't want to look younger. I'm gonna watch anyway though because I want to hear it.

Dulce Lara: Why does aging is scaring? It's part of life! We should accept it and embrace it! Love yourself and be thankful for the time you're still enjoying this world.

Marlena k8: I would like to point out that even though Brad is suggesting that we all pull our hair back in a Jojo Siwa tight as hell up do, it can also cause alopecia. Just look at Jojo Siwa's hairline today after wearing those high, tight ponytails for years and you'll know what I'm talking about. Nothing wrong with doing it occasionally but please do not do this on the regular or you will start losing your hair.

Dmitri Ray Lake Fackrell: Personally I feel like the most "aging" style is one that doesn't flatter your features, bone structure, skin color etc. Trying too hard for a style that doesn't suit you. As long as it's tailored to your hair type and your face, it'll look hot

Emily Jane: Totally disagree about the buns. The tighter buns are definitely giving older vibes. The messy bun is giving the younger vibs & looks better.

Madison M: I definitely feel like colour & health of hair influences how these ‘age’ a person as well. Also I typically look younger than I am & it’s annoying because people treat me like I’m inexperienced at my job (I’ve been there 7+ years) so I’m constantly trying new styles to actually make me look my age (28). I know I’ll be grateful for that when I am much older but it can be annoying now.

Caitlyn Dagnall: why is it assumed that we want to look younger? aging isnt a bad thing.

Devyn Smith: I need a “how to pull off short hair for people who don’t think they can pull off short hair” video thanks

Jane 1709: This whole "young = hot, aging = become less hot" equation thing ist so toxic...

Linette Sanchez: The key to this game is that every messy hairstyle is the young one. Without fail.

constancewsca: So, honest question... Just what the hell are we naturally curly girls supposed to do? Especially those of us who are staunchly anti-straightening? For real, I'd love to know how you deal with curls. You never show curly hair except to straighten it. Do you hate us?

Miip: I remember when I started wearing a side part, everyone thought I was so strange. But honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. (It’s like, between an off-center part and a true side part.) Not only am I more comfortable with a side part, but my perfectionist self no longer has to spend 40+ minutes before the mirror trying to get the perfect middle part lol

ButtercupUp: I think it’s interesting how many people are surprised that the “hot” ones are just what’s trendy because if you wear a hairstyle that was quite trendy or iconic at one time people are automatically going to think of that time and incidentally how long ago that was making you seem older. Plus all the “hot” looks (apart from the bun and ponytail) are part of that “effortless beauty” trend that has been around for quite a while. And if for some reason you are upset, he is not telling you to get any of those hairstyles he’s just telling you what looks cool and hip (trendy) right now and will therefore make you look younger by default.

Mara Jones: As a 23 year old teacher that repeatedly gets mistaken for a student (by students too!) I guess I need the hairstyels that age me cuz my goodness, the struggle is real! Doesn't help they are taller than me sometimes

Kimberly Alger: A lot of these have nothing to do with actually making you look younger. They’re just trends that are in right now. If anything the desperation to follow trends rather than finding your own style will age you just as much as anything else

Melissa Heil: When I was a kid my Mom gave me bangs and always styled my hair with a middle part which was very popular in the 90's. As a goth girl I don't really follow trends so I kept both because they are flattering to my face and match my aesthetic. It's funny to see that both of those are becoming popular again because let me tell you I was considered a freak in high school for it

Davis Family: When I was in elementary school, my grandma would tell me that I looked like an old lady with my hair in a low ponytail, which I wore a lot. Now I still wear my hair in a low ponytail for convince but I look like a hot grandma at the bare minimum. Wear your hair how you want

Ksu Kim: Nothing wrong with aging. And why is this focused on current styles? Also not all styles fit all face frames. Love ya Brad but let us just age gracefully. From a 45 year old young woman.

MMG Ogre: Guessed all of Brad’s “Hot” choices EXCEPT the bun. Surprise Twist: The Not Hot Bun, I’d never wear… the others I’d tend to choose the “Not Hot” option for myself. ‍♀️ I’ve always marched to the beat of my own drum…

sbet gro: Trendy versus dated hair is different than looking younger versus old. You have to take into account where wrinkles are and face shape to look younger versus older which is more than picking a trendy hairstyle.

Jassie K: I disagree with the JLo one because it does make her look older and it's not good for your hairline to have your hair slick back like that. Messy buns always for the win.

ThePeep 420: I would like to see the “hot” hair styles photo shopped onto the faces of the “not” people to show how the face shape really affects the aging properties of any hairstyle. A better example of how the A line bob ages you would be any picture of a child with that style, it’s painfully obvious on children that it’s one of the most aging hair styles regardless of face shape or age. Also, he even says that it’s up to you and reiterates through the whole video that part of looking younger is staying on trend, so yes some of it is obviously just outdated styles, but that is stated in the video and a true statement

Jasmine O: The snatched face lift bun would give you a receding hairline/tension alopecia - which you have spoken about! Just thinking about being "snatched" gives me a bun headache!! I would rather never look snatched and have hair than be snatched for a little while and then have bald areas at my hairline! I love the messy bun personally! But even that, I try to keep my hair down as much as possible.

The Adventures of Maru Chan (& Friends): Sorry Brad … love your videos but you kind of missed the bus on this. This video is the epitome of why I hated my natural curly hair growing up and straight permed the shit out of it for a decade. Every ‘hot’ one is a person with thin and straight hair with curls added from a curling iron. I mean, you’re not wrong, that’s the aesthetic that’s been pushed forever, that the only hair that’s beautiful is straight … but like the hair you’re picking out as ‘not,’ this attitude is also a ‘not.’

Monstera Nichole: Let’s normalize women aging & how it’s a beautiful thing.

Ally T: I usually like Brad's hair videos but this one felt like a lot more unsolicited advice than usual. Why so much hate for hairstyles that aren't necessarily trendy at the moment? I also find it very sad how he is only targeting women here -where is the video for men? The title says "These Hairstyles Are Aging You", not "Hairstyles That Age Women"food for thought.

Dragonix Heli: For me personally, I think curly hair (nr 1) makes you younger looking. Maybe it's just me personally that I somehow connect curls and young but that's how I felt.

X: I love your outfit here. The jacket, and especially the wolf tshirt (I love it), and the pearls add a nice and unique touch. The shirt and jacket go so well together!! (also nice on their own)

Rose🦋: honestly this is the first Brad video i’ve ever not liked :( nothing against Brad and no hate, but just the premise of the video and the underlying views that are hard to ignore. aging is not bad, aging is beautiful and a blessing so many people aren’t afforded. I also notice that this is very clearly only directed towards women (all the examples are women and all of the hairstyles are traditionally femme hairstyles)~ women are taught that aging is the absolute worst and most shameful thing, yet what about men? why aren’t men’s hairstyles that “might age them” a concern? why isn’t aging in general a concern for men? because men are not taught that their appearance = their value. men also aren’t taught that their youth or even ADOLESCENCE is the prime of their life. hollywood, the media, and mainstream culture (all dictated by and catered to patriarchy and the male gaze) are EXTREMELY p*dophelic. think it’s a coincidence that everything that’s “trendy and hot” and everything that’s considered “feminine” is all based around literal childlike features? nope. definitely no coincidence. we’re taught to want perfect, clear, “baby soft” (seriously, does it get more obvious or creepy?) skin, tiny waists that aren’t proportionate to a healthy adult body, long fake eyelashes mimicking that of literal babies, huge eyes and tiny almost nonexistent noses (like CHILDRENS because they’re still growing and their faces aren’t even fully formed and their features are proportioned differently than adults)…. I could go on about this until i’m old and wrinkly and absolutely grateful to be so ~ just some things to ponder. there’s a lot of context to media like this, and I feel it’s important it be recognized so it can begin to be dismantled. again no hate to brad, still watched 100% of the video and will be back next week like clockwork. just some thoughts

Catie LaLonde: I needed this! I'm looking to change my hair while still being me. I have the long blonde hair with face framing layers and a slight side part. Ready for a little more shag. Thanks!

UniCat: Arielle is not a random girl, gurl! And she's been rocking that look for a long time, she just has a good style in general. Looks good with a side part too. This are like trends, not what looks good on everyone. Me with a middle part is just atrocious

Hanna Teden: I'm not going to lie, this really bummed me out. I know Brad said in the beginning that this doesn't apply to curly haired people, but all the comments he made about wearing waves loosely and less defined really took me back to the time in my life where I couldn't stand my curls because of the impression I thought I made. My hair is curly (mostly 3a) with very defined, tight and healthy curls that look awful if loosened or brushed. I know these types of curls are never in style, but it still stung a little to be reminded. I wish I were self confident enough to not be bothered, but I just turned 26 and I find myself in a chapter of life where I am not quite ready yet for the rest of my life. This just threw me back. Love you otherwise Brad, just wanted to share my thoughts with other curlies

Not Wednesday: Being a hair dresser doesn't make your personal preferences and opinions more valid than anybody elses... And you aren't "the messenger" when you're sitting there telling people what's hot or not according to your own feelings.

C B: The 'Not Hot' looks won't make you look older, they'll make you look less trendy. Not the same thing IMO

heart.: The premise of this seems somewhat ridiculous to me. Comparing hairstyles on different people with different face shapes and hair colours as though "hot" and "makes you seem younger" are both the same and universally true.

Jess Chrz: The whole middle part vs side part thing I feel like is wholly dependant on your face shape and the natural way your hair lays. I cannot middle part my hair as it naturally falls into a side part. Also my face is quite round and asymmetrical and it would only highlight that in a bad way.

soshiangel90: very quickly I realized this is less about how a style fits a face and more about just what's the current trend and I don't know that I agree that a current trend will make everyone look younger. I think it's about the face and the way it fits it. So like for #1 - the tight curls add a lot of volume to the face hiding the neck and shape of the face - all factors generally done by those who are aging and have more to hide. The long, soft waves work with cheekbones and move freely, exposing the neck and ears. I was hoping you would focus more on that rather than essentially just saying "this is an old style therefore it makes you look old." ESPECIALLY with the parting

The Divine Ms A: Getting older isn't scary. I'm 51 and totally in love with my life. Hair half way down my back and rocking the silver.

Msfitness3: I agree with ya'll. Brad, this is more of a trend video, vs aging one.

MizSammii: I would have loved to see short and medium naturally curly hair examples. I always have a hard time trying to find a hairstyle :(

Jennifer Mulherin: I can definitely tell my age after watching this one!! I was about 50%! Of course, I am 50, so..... I definitely agree with those who stated that the 'hot' seems to be more about trends, which Brad has down to a t.

Sarah C: Wonderful! Would love to see more ways to style bobs. I have very thick shoulder length hair and it's hard to get it to do anything but just hang down.

Erin C: You can’t disparage tight curls and not have naturally curly girls come after you. Our hair is what it is. Leave it be. I definitely disagree with a lot of these.

Emma: Hi Brad! I love your video's and vibe ♥️ I would like to ask you, maybe someday you'd like to analyse Haylely Williams or Rihanna's hairtyles though the years (they both look so beautiful in such a different hairstyles)? Or do a video about top hairstyles for 2022? Sending hugs

Alyssa Zappe: 9/10 I missed the bun because i love a messy bun ❤️ but I get that face lift factor for sure... The Ariana pony is killer, nice and high and long! Great vid, as always beautiful

Anime Chan: i got 9 / 10 :) i agree with the styles, but on the bun one for me it depends on the persons actual age, and i do prefer a messy bun over a slick one. Other then that i fully agree with every fairstyle in this video.

Sarah: can you do another one including other races or hair textures? love it!!

Chloe Jayde: For most of these, the real answer is "it depends" because we all have different natural hair textures, different style preferences and different face shapes. It's not one size fits all. I especially disagree with the thumbnail.... A sharp bob looks amazing on Taylor, probably her most iconic look. It goes so well with her facial features.

Kristen Long: I've had a middle part all my life. I remember when the side part was all the rage when I was a teenager. Even now, every time I go to get my hair cut (maybe once a year or so) I tell the stylist not to part my hair on the side. It feels weird, and I don't like it. And every time they do it anyway. "Oh I was hoping that I could sneak it in there and show you how good it looks on you!" Pisses me off every time.

Agata Wiatrowicz: I used to part my hair in the middle all throughout highschool. I've tried the middle part for a while now but my hair has a natural part on the side. Can't fight genetics, it's going to part where it wants to. I also have more hair on one side of my head because of the part so if I part it in the middle it doesn't look right no matter how much I want it to ‍♀️

frostyrxses: I have a side part and I’ve always had one, side parts look good on me tho and I look weird with middle parts also the fact that you turned down a messy bun is heartbreaking, messy buns are the best. Also I’m dying my hair purple soon and I’m so excited, I’m going for a not too dark but not too light purple color, and also not bright AT ALL

Monique Damphousse: I got 8 out of 10. I'm 71 years old, so I wear my hair short, with a little length at the top, and a wispy fringe in front. I part slightly to the side because my hair is thinning and I used to always part it in the middle. Decades of doing that is leaving it very thin at the middle part area. The joys of aging ;) I have a modified pixie cut in general, but occasionally get a hairdresser who will change it up a bit and that's always fun too.

Kristen Collins: As a hairdresser myself, come on Brad. All you are doing is picking the Instagram picture. How is a hairstyle aging? Red carpet hair is very different than everyday hair, and you know this. A beautiful updo with a gown will always be amazing. Messy waves are boring. And what’s wrong with looking your age? Face shape has nothing to do with what is flattering on you. Hair is an expression of one’s self.

Miip: I think both buns look great! But they do have their disadvantages. What I do agree on is that it should be pretty tight and snatched to make the face look nice, same with the ponytail

Last Chance: LMAO I'm not watching for tips! I just love your personality! My hair goes in a ponytail and then looped so it doesn't touch my neck. Define "older" because at 57 I think I qualify and none of these are appealing

mic nik: The looser messier curl and waves have been popular for so long that it honestly gives me older vibes than the tighter curls and waves. The looser curls and waves looked like the trend from 2010-2015.

Elli Markouzi: I only want to say one thing... THANK YOU. You are making meo life so much easier!!

chishionotenshi: So, here's the thing: all of these "not hot" styles are just not in fashion anymore. But 10-15 years ago, they would all have been considered "hot." Although none of us can escape the "Karen" cut's stigma, I am willing to bet that soon enough, these "not hot" styles will be hot again.

Linda G: Can I just say that I TOTALLY disagree with this thumbnail? I LOVE how Taylor looks with the bangs and the short bob! It doesn't age her at all in my opinion

Selah Damerville: I want to see a walkthrough of Brad’s hair care essentials bag!!

Freaky Lizard: I got 9 of 10 (missed the couture bun vs the messy bun). I would only point out that side part vs. middle part for some of us is less about looking younger or older, and more about (round) face shape.

Ali Hostetter: I would really love a how to type video for wigs. Like styling them, putting them on securely, caring for them, etc. I've been having hair loss problems and am starting to try wigs but I have no idea how to wear or use them so they look natural.

Melanie Gibson: I love how these girls are looking like it is not bothering them to have the s*** pulled out their hair while it is as tight as it can be. That is definitely a younger thing - to be more concerned about how you look and not how you feel. I've noticed that as I age I give less of a crap about my external appearance and more on what is happening inside of me. I do like it that the trend is now to look sort of messy or lived-in, so if you do more in life than scurry from a car into a building and expose yourself to some weather, you don't fret that your hairdo is coming down.

Sarah Lopez: I love a messy bun, I also like a high tight bun for a “cleaner” look.

MEKiMCHiiE: Omg Brad is coming for our messy buns! I think women as a whole will continue to embrace the messy bun. It's just gonna b like a classic white t and never go out of style. Don't come for our buns Brad. Don't do it. Don't do it.

Mullet Mayhem: I donated my hair to charity towards the end of my junior year of high school. Didn’t know I had to take Senior pictures for the next year. I had that Selena bob for my photos. Super shiny and healthy just like hers, but MAN did it age me, and I didn’t even look like myself at all.

LaciAlysia: Getting all these right lol plus I know how you are I have a side party but it’s not a deep side part and I do like to do a middle part when I curl it. But my hair has been parted this way so long it’s hard to get it to lay the other way ‍♀️

c joanna: I think a lot of good tips were made here for looking nice and trendy. Couple of them looked so similar and both good imo. Maybe would have been nice if the “don’t look old” thing wasn’t only targeted at feminine hairstyles. Give us masculine tips too and/or trendy non-binary. (I’m sure his fan base is mostly those interested in feminine style but like don’t we have enough “don’t do this, ladies” videos.) I do appreciate more than once he said you do you and he’s been very vocal about that in a lot of videos.

Ancient Rose Water: Thanks Mondo! I enjoyed the video and pointers as always! Ladies chill out with the extraness on if these looks are just trendy, if your have a certain head shape, or if a cut/color won't look good, also the age anxiety in women....geeze lol it's just a fun guidance video after all. Seems like we can guess who's Aging NON gracefully *cough *cough ✨

zazaincalifornia: The editing is fireeee. Feels like mortal combat of haircut. I'm on a Brad Mondo videos binge but this one is killing it by far!
