How To Cut Katie Perry'S Bob For Thick Hair

Katie Perry's Bob for super thick hair

So this haircut really is inspired by Katy Perry's Bob and it's made for people who have super thick, coarse hair. So let's go ahead and a look at the haircut itself. We'Re gon na start with a side parting separating the front from the back we're gon na start in the back where'd you use the unguarded straight razor, be careful when using the straight razor, the only problem. The only thing that you we need to worry about is to just not cut ourselves unless you're, that kind of person they're taking all of the money and with long stupid, strokes, gon na work right through that hair. I'M gon na do like one finger graduation. I don't want to line. I just wanted to be kind of soft at the bottom. We'Re gon na cut it square, so you'll notice, I'm gon na come almost back like a a drawer. So I could head is the center of the drawer that I'm pulling it back to the walls and you'll, see that I'm gon na do the same thing on the opposite side. And yes, if you do notice, I did cut myself while cutting this. That just reminds me that I have to be careful of what I'm doing in to respect the razor. The razor will never cut cut you if you're, respecting it. Okay. So now we're gon na split that roof off we're gon na start on the bottom, and this is how we're gon na deconstruct that Bob or make it a very skinny bob for somebody, a thick hair. You can take a diagonal back parting, I'm gon na slow. It down just a little bit, so you can see what I'm doing. What I'm gon na do is I'm going to lay the flat part of the blade on the hair itself. I'M just gon na peel those layers back just thinning the hair out and what's gon na happen is because she has such thick hair that hair's gon na want to take off, but we're gon na disconnect the next floor and that's gon na lay over the top Of it and collapse all the hair, let's slow it down one more time, so here I am and using just the nose and the flat part of the blade I'm just kind of dancing on it, never cutting all the way through, and you can see that I Can see right through the hair? Now I'm almost recoloring it with my with my razor coming in through and one more time just tapping it's almost like fen phen, four for the hair. Just you know kind of you know it's a diet pill just making everything skinny and everything heavy he's gon na lay. On top of that again, we are beneath the roof for the parietal Ridge of the hair. There'S a good picture of the line right there gon na take another diagonal back party, take a diagonal back party, so it's a little heavier in the back and a little lighter wanted to move away from her face, and it's all about the tap tap a tapper Tappa, like lisa simpson, learning how to tap dance, and you can see right there on my thumb. I did cut myself. That'S because I was an idiot not paying attention to what I was doing. Don'T do that it didn't hurt that bad. I didn't have to amputate the whole thumb coming in all clean and working to the next parting, speeding it up a little bit just so you can see what it looks like in real time checking for balance and droppin that roof. Now, let's move on to the sides, what I'm gon na do is I'm gon na use the nose of my razor, and I push that hair forward. We even do kind of a triangular type Bob, I'm gon na push that hair forward and everything that doesn't get taken off from the first swoop. I'M just gon na pinch off so you'll see me pinch off right there, splitting that roof off again and I'm just gon na just the same fen phen diet, the same diet pill just you know making all that hair, nice and skinny right in front of her Face that hair's gon na want to take off, but then we're gon na drop that roof over the top of it and collapse. Everything just move to the next side again that same triangular type, Bob working all the way through making sure everything is going in the right direction. Now, I'm separating the hair on a side parting and then straight back in the back. I'M gon na elevate the hair straight up and then over to the back section. So the front left section is gon na come over to the back right section and I'm going to remove from the shortest piece to the longest piece wait a minute. What was I doing there? Let'S comb, that down and slow it down again real quick, so gon na be on the front right section now up over the head and by stretching it across the head. We'Re actually gon na create like a like a round layer or a concave layer moving it all the way back to the back right or left section, maintaining heaviness in the front I'll turn that just a little bit. So you can see it her head like to dance a little bit. You'Re gon na see the shortest piece there. The longest piece is just in the crotch of my fingers right there, then I'm just going to connect the dots lalalala so connect the dots with the razor. What I'm doing is I'm I'm hollowing out that that layer again and it's going to create like kind of a like a concave type layer, but I'm also texturizing at the same time. So I don't have to texturize as much when we're done closing up my razor. So I don't cut myself again and only one hairdresser was harmed here and harmed here, the making of this haircut. So this work in the back of the head now. So here we are in the back in that roof section, I'm going to take everything that comes up into my hands. If it doesn't come up into my hands, I'm not going to cut it not about what we cut off it's about what we leave on! Let'S go from the back left-hand corner to the front right-hand corner all the way up and over and I'm going to connect those two dots again here we go, you can see on the right-hand side on the left-hand side, I'm just gon na connect that long stupid, Strokes, if you don't use a razor, I definitely recommend using a razor. Razors are legal in your city. I promise I've done all the research. Razors are just another tool: a hairdressers can't use razors on the face or the skin, but we can't use them in the hair shoot. We can use a broken piece of glass if we wanted to so up over the top and every hair cut you can do with the scissor. You can do with the razor. You can do more things with a razor than you can with a scissor this one. Here is a feather plie. I got it from harebrained Emmy and it's a one of a kind, not a one of a kind of a a I'm special there. It is all wet, but mine is a wooden handle, but most of them come black plastic. It'S still a great there. She is now it's Gordon blow dryer. I bet you wish you to blow dry as fast as I can. This is real time for me. That'S how I keep such a you know my nice. You know FID statue and that how I died, you know, look so fit and whatever is is all of the the fast moving as I do there. We are, and now I'm going to just tax your eyes, I'm using the nose of my razor, the nose of the razor I'm just gon na take off what doesn't look like the end result. So I'm just texturizing like you would if you were to hold the hair straight up, but this time they're just holding it where it wants to live, and this is gon na give me a little bit more texture than you would. If you were to elevate it. You know into like say a layered, you know or a graduation. This would just give me a little bit of graduation, but it's really close to where it wants to live, so I'm giving really extreme texture using that. Let'S do them in a little bit closer and see if we can get a better view of that here we are slowed down by keeping it so low. It'S giving me a very extreme texture and that thing that the clients gon na freak out about but they'll definitely be able to see it I'm liking. What'S going on, I don't hate it here. We are again just texturizing holding very firm, with my left hand, very light with my right hand, it's all about the wrist okay, just checking to see if I didn't, if I'm liking him now, let's working that front, what I'm gon na do is I'm gon na Pleat that that front fringe a little bit, I'm gon na over-direct up into that hairline over-direct into the hairline there. It is I'm just going to really remove a lot of that weight. So I'm gon na come with the heel of my razor because I want to push it away from her parting. Just do that again, there's a little bit better view and that's just gon na push it away from her face. I either moved really fast or really slow all the time. Now, let's try to push it away from her face a little bit more. So what I'm going to do is I'm going to leave the hair really close to where it wants to live, and I'm just going to kind of push that hair with my razor just to kind of get it away from her face and so that sure pushes Long away from her face, so she doesn't have to always battle it, just tucking it a little bit. If she had ears, it would look a little bit easier. I'M liking the texture, not bad, for a mannequin with lots and lots and lots of hair. It looks input on purpose there you have it.
