Hi, my lovelies it's nisha, so today i wanted to show you how i style my short, fine bob, which i hate. So, as you know, i had to cut that shirt not long ago, and i am not really a fan and i think the reason is that my face shape is quite round. I'Ve got quite whitish jaw here, so this length is not really ideal. If you have a nice heart-shaped face, you know with a lovely pointy chin bob like this looks amazing. Therefore, i need a lot of volume, especially at the top. If i had more oblong or hardship face, then quite flat short bubble would look fine, that's my opinion. Anyway, also, you have to think of what you look like as a whole, not just your face, so you just seen my face my head, but if i have very flat short stuck to my head hair, i look like a pinhead because i have quite big hips. So you need to balance it. Okay, so i've washed, my hair. I don't use anything for like thickening shampoos. Anything like that. I have bleached hair, so i use shampoos that repair my hair. I use olap olaplex, usually shampoo, and then i use the olaplex number six and that's it. I don't usually use any wood boost, uh volume stuff, because i fill with the fine hair that actually weighs you weighs your hair down, especially mosses. I'M sure there are products that are nice and light, but i find that most of them weigh my hair down, but i found this so i was shopping the other day and i saw this new brand that i've never heard of kristin s, and this is instant, Lift thickening spray root to end, so it's not just like a root, lift it's just a thickening spray and i've tried it and it doesn't weigh my hair. It'S pretty weightless and it does give you a bit more thickness. So i'm going to use that. So i'm going to brush my hair, this is wet brush. I love these brushes because they don't tag on your hair, see i've got like natural parting somewhere here sort of off center, so my hair is towel. Dried is already dry on the ends because it's you know, i've got really thin hair and it's drying under there. So i'm going to spray this all over my hair, not too much, never good to spray too much of anything brush it through again and now. What i'm going to do is to dry my hair, almost like 80 90 dry, so how i used to do my hair when, when it was longer, i would actually wash my hair the night before dry it just with a hair. Dryer no styling go to bed. The next day, i would straighten it and do something to lift my roots. Well, i've realized that, with this short haircut, because i don't want it to be too flat - i mustn't use straightness. So straighteners give you years very nice smooth looks, but you will not get volume with straightness because you're using heat on both sides of your hair and flatten it. So the cuticles are flat. You don't get the volume when my hair is longer. I don't mind not having that much volume, but with shorter hair. What you need is proper blow dry and i know not everybody likes or is capable of using two hands. I'Ve pulled out my alt and trusty fabulous big hair brush. This is the one that rotates both sides. I am very used to using this brush because, obviously you have two directions that you rotate. So you have to remember, which is which also very important when you take a section of hair that is not wider than this brush, because when you rotate, it can get caught here and i feel like this brush is probably better for maybe to mid length hair. If you have very long hair, this is probably not as good now, if you are scared to using the self rotating brush, i've noticed this is like a you know: hair dryer and brush in one. I'Ve noticed that there is a lot of this new devices. They have big brush and a hairdryer in one, but the brush doesn't spin, so you can just do it yourself, but by using one hand, so i will find different ones and i will link it in in a description box. But first i am going to dry. My hair and when i dry my hair, love my dyson, the best hair dryer in the world. I try to lift my hair at the roots, so sort of use my hands as calm and do this so i'm lifting it at the root. So, let's start blow drying, so can you see how much volume i can get just by doing that, so you use your hand as a claw put it in grab it sort of grab your hair and lift it forward like this, and you do that all over The top - and that already gives you volume now the rest of my hair, i'm going to flip it that way and dry it that way, then i'm going to go like this, and i do the same on the other side. Also, i am going to flip my head upside down and dry, the back all that should give you more volume to start off with, so you can see by doing that. You get quite a lot of volume. So when my hair is completely dry and i went in with a straightener it would, i would lose all that volume because you're flattening your hair and the heat while you're doing it will make it flat again. So straighteners are good, for um depends what hairstyle you're after, but if you have to volume straightener is not that good. Unless you only straighten the ends to create the swab, you blow dry, your fringe, the opposite way. So then, when i flip it, i get that swoop right. So my hair is, i would say, 80 dry. I am going to change into this, but first because my hair is so short at the nape of my neck. Just here i have to do this couple of sections with that. So, first of all i am going to section my hair. I have a lots of these sectioning clips. Let me section off just the top that i don't want to touch for now in like a rectangle and then i will section each section as i go along, so i need to do the very bottom. I take my two fingers and try to go from both sides. Quite straight. Obviously, i can't see what i'm doing when i do it in my bedroom. I have a big mirror um on one of the wardrobes behind me, so i can see better. So this might not be as good as i normally do it then i'm going to take another section above that one and blow dry that with the little brush and then i can go into the big one hope that looks okay. Obviously, it doesn't have to be perfect because you won't really see that right next section, but this will give you more of a salon blow dry and also smooth your hair at the same time, just as brush and hair dryer would do so. Can you see how it smooths everything i love this brush? I'Ve had this brush for years, and sometimes i use it all the time then i forget about it um, but it makes things so much easier using your both hands. So i will section my hair to that top. I go around it with this brush and then i will come back to to the top just one more thing: um, i show you also that you don't have to keep that brush. Just in one place you can move it, you can make your hair straighter so on here i've turned the spinner wound my hair and then took my finger off the spinner and left it like that, and then gently pulled it out. On this side i turned the spinner off one, my hair, and while it was spinning i was moving my brush up and down so it's drying the whole shaft, so you can do it. Few different ways depends. You know where you want the volume how much volume you want. If you don't want big bend here, then don't keep spinning it all the time up here, pull it down while you're spinning and that will straighten the hair a bit more okay. So this is done now, look at the back, it's made it all, really small! You see and i didn't even need straighteners, but i have nice body in it. So we are going to go to do this section now we're going to go backwards here at the crown and then here i do all sorts of things. I go that way. That way, just to get the most volume i can at the front. So i will start sectioning my hair, but what i'm going to do here, i'm going to use the aveda air control hairspray on my roots very likely. This is brushable, not really stiff hairspray, but it might give me a bit of more volume and grip. I have a problem here. Can you see how my hair splits here, because here i have my head - is very flat and i have an indentation in my hair. It'S really weird. I know, but apparently when i was a baby, you know the soft spot, my it wouldn't fuse. So i have like an indentation, and that is that's why i always have to backcomb this bit, because my hair seemed to split um over there when that indentation is this hair is like almost dry now, because that's the finest head i have here at the front. Yeah and where the hairspray was, i get a bit of grip. Can you see now i'm going to split my hair? Now i'm going to get this section that is sort of in my parting. I know this is very complicated. You know i'm not a hairdresser. I just make it up as i go along. I took the both sides now and now i am going to because i want my hair to go this way, but i'm going to blow dry it this way. So i get more volume when i flip it over. I hope that makes sense. Okay, so, as you can see, i have a lot of volume in my hair now, but this will collapse a bit because my hair is so fine, especially if the weather is not very good. So i will show you what else i do to make this volume stay for longer and to even last next day. A lot of you probably would be happy already with that. I'M not because you know this is not big enough for me. So um. I will show you what i do so you know i'm a fan of using baby, crimper or volume to create sort of scaffolding and volume underneath your hair. So this is the volume it's it's a type of cream pack, i'm going to spray a bit of this hairspray underneath through the sections very tiny bit and let it dry because again that will give me some hold once i've used the heat, so i'm leaving the Top layer free of any crimping, i take this second one and i just clamp clamp clamp. Can you see so it gives you this crinkling here, which is almost like what i call like in a wig permatease, but make sure you leave it to cool down properly. So you don't take it out, oh and when you're doing it have your hair up and do it like that near the scalp, because that will give you will give you the volume here. Maybe just one look at that: can you see how much volume that gives i'm going to do some on this side? Don'T make the sections too thick? So, okay, let's just gently very gently back on the top, i use the bed head masterpiece. I have to backcomb this back because, as i've told you, i've got that hold it sort of splits in half, so i have to take care of that. So i'm basically going round my crown and any oh, how i'd like to walk like this? That'S my that's! My ideal hair sticking out like a scarecrow. That'S how much i love big volume notice that i do everything in moderation, very gentle, back on very gentle spray of hairspray, not too much of anything i'm going to let it dry. Now. Okay, now i'm going to gently brush through that flatten it a bit spray a bit of pressure here on the top i'm going to go to the mirror to search out my bag, because i'm sure it looks like a nest now i will tuck this side behind My ear, you could pin it with something i don't know have i got something here. You could pin it with something, and this side is nice and big. This one is tucked in so this scaffolding. That is underneath you can see. If i just go like this, it will get bigger and bigger and providing that there is no rain outside and no moisture. You know it's not damp that all this is going to fall out tomorrow morning. When i get up - and i use my hair, the volume will be still there. So that's why i like these type of crimping tools for giving volume, and that's done. I know i've heard already. Some of you saying that my hair looks like helmet is far too big, but that's how i like it. I still don't like my hair. That short, but i'm quite happy with this look. I think if i was going to have my hair short, i would have had inverted bob, because once you cut it up here, it looks much better. So, but i'm growing my hair back so maybe one day i will have inverted bob again: okay, my lovelies. I hope you enjoyed this video and you found it helpful. Thank you so much for watching and stay fabulous, bye,

Sheepie Mezz: Wow that’s a lot of work! My hair is thin and fine too but you must have more hair than me as mine would be bone dry after the first stage! Thanks for the detailed demo, I’ll maybe have a try one day when I have strength in my arms! .. btw that rotating dryer looks fabulous! I wish I’d gotten that before I bought my Dyson styling kit.

Gina Monty: The BEST trick is to dry your hair upside down! I still do it that way as well. Great teaching video once again Nisha! Have a wonderful day!

Laura Clemons: Absolutely gorgeous! I just can’t get myself to spend more than 10 minutes total on my hair routine.

gym princess: Great video and on point! I, too have a full jawline and formerly wore an A-Line bob. Volume is a must to pull off a bob cut. Your hair looks great! ❤

Ryanavery Ash: I'm so excited to see you've posted this. I was surprised it didn't get more votes as brows and shaving but I quite enjoy it! Not very many women post hair styling for my age group and I'm afraid I'm in a bit of a a rut.

Marilyn Hodgkinson: Hi Nisha the finished look is beautiful. I love the fuller look it's very flattering. I bought one of those brushes and l love it. Loved watching this as it gave me a lot of ideas. Thanks Nisha

Amelia Clark: We are hair twins. My fine hair splits at the back as well it drives me crazy! Thanks for the tips. I will look for one of those dryers.

Sandra G. McAlister: Good morning, Nisha. I love your hair, especially in the front. I'm going to check out the big roller brush, that would save me a lot of time. Great video, have a great day, be safe! Hugs

Donna Fabulous: Love your hair and thank You for posting this video. You make styling hair with just a round brush and hair dryer so easy. I now know what I have been doing wrong. Thank You so much!!!

Sandra Taylor: I really appreciated your video Nisha. The time and effort you put into the blow drying and styling created a beautiful result. My hair is even thinner and finer than yours and I quite honestly don’t have the patience to do all that you do. Great instructional video.

Albufeira Jones: You are better than many hairdressers, it looks brill well-done ❣️

Helene Cooksey: I love your hair! Your hair is very similar to mine, fine, blonde bob and I like my hair BIG! One ounce of moisture in the air and I look like a curly drowned rat! I also use the heat styler with the spinner (on one of your earlier recommendations) but the smaller version for short hair and it's fab, saves so much time. I have a horrible "kink" in my hair so have to use straighteners on the front and side sections. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has to spend valuable time on my hair just to get it to play ball :-). Thanks for the vid xx

Tammy Ludwigs: LOVE the video! Great Tips and exactly what I needed to see! Can't wait to give it a try!

Deborah Rosen: Wow! Those crimpers really work for volume! Thank you for the demonstration Nisha! I do something very similar. Minus the crimpers….however my hair is much longer so I don’t have to worry as much about volume at the roots. I just do a little gentle back combing along with hair spray . Xoxo

Lee Stern: I have NEVER seen a rotating hair dryer brush….you find the most awesome things! Thank you Nisha! ♥️♥️♥️ Love to Louie too

Kel H.: Love love love your hair! I’d give almost anything to have as much as you. Love your videos

E Colson: It looks really nice! Great job styling!

Cathy Casiello: Thank you for this my hair is thin your hair always looks so good! Have a great day love watching you!

Teena Covert: My hair is exactly like yours! I’m ordering your tools today! I can’t wear my hair flat!

Cheryl Werrbach: I have used the baby crimper since you posted that technique. My hair is similar to yours, but thinner on top due to chemo therapy. I have a lot of hair in the back. I wish it was in too!!! Volume is so important! Thank you for this. I know you hate the shorter bob, but I love your hair like this. Thank you for the beautiful tips!!!

Linda A: Nisha , you make me laugh and just smile when you get to that big hair look and you said this is how I would wear it :D I too , also like that big hair look and I too would love to walk around at that stage of big hair you talk about :D:D I love this video for all the tips you are giving and I will definitely try all those tips you give, thank you so much for all your video's Xx

Chrissy Nes: Hi Nisha! I love the Kristin Ess products. It smells great also. I usually dry my hair upside down. I am an 80’s girl and will never give up my poof.

Glenda Mccurdy: Nisha, you're such a lovely person. You're very real and own your own style - which I think is so chic. You're such an attractive lady and you make me giggle as you've a great sense of humour. Your tutorials are excellent. I'm so glad I came across your videos ❤️❤️

Busflower1: When you first had your hair over the opposite way, you looked just like Debbie Harry from Blondie! Great video, thank you

Elaine Lang: I have this roller styling brush it's fantastic i couldn't live without it, thanks Nisha great video as usual xx

Lisa Lee-Lee: You really are the BEST at explaining step by step, Nisha. It turned out Gorgeous!!! I love Big hair too! I keep telling my friends that I'm just stubborn, that the 80's hair WILL be back, so I'll be right in line.

J E N : I get it. It's what you are comfortable with. I'm the same but your new style takes years off your face. You look fresh and perky....you look refreshingly beautiful.....especially before you pumped it up with backcombing....back in the day I was the backcomb queen ....the higher the better....

Kandy Hoffman: Love this! Most stylists don't know how to give you big hair.My hair is thinner than yours and I do this method and it works great I love big hair!

S F: Thank you for a great video Nisha. I cut my hair short in Jan and am regretting it. It’s finally looking a bit more decent but not where I’d like it yet. The joys of hair!!

Millie Benitez: Thank you Nisha! We all have what we like or how we like to wear our hair to feel good. I think you are beautiful and your hairstyle looks fabulous! Keep being you!!!

Marie Molloy: My hair is very similar to yours, including the way it likes to split in back at the top of the crown. I think your hair is gorgeous and it does not look like a helmet! Thanks for the tips!

Pam Traynor: You are amazing! You just know how to figure things out. I always say I don’t like my hair straightened because it looks flat and I could never really pin point why or explain it. I like it straight but not straightened, you have just nailed it for me! Thank you! xx

Wanda Taylor: I love your hair! Video was SO helpful. My hair is so thick that it falls, won’t get any volume. I’ll try your ideas and see how it goes. Here in Texas, the bigger the hair the closer to God!

AS: Nisha, good afternoon! It's very nice to see you on the air again on YouTube, as always, your cute image makes you feel touched by everything you do behind the other side of the screen. I also have a flat head on top of my head and I have to make efforts to lift my hair. I love a large amount of hair, just like you. I think it's bold and beautiful. I will definitely use your methods, but in half an hour everything falls down the street anyway. But it's interesting: to try, experiment your hairstyles and new styling methods to give airiness and lightness to the whole image as a whole. Beautiful makeup. We will make up, dress up and do stunning hairstyles. You are gorgeous and I like this corner for your work in the dining room, and you have a beautiful boudoir in the bedroom where you do your reviews. Stay safe. God bless you!

Amy Rutherford-Close: Looking beautiful- I started watching years ago when your hair was a very short bob.

Judy Wolff: I absolutely love your hairstyle. I just had my hair cut very much like yours I have a lot of hair but it thin. I am ordering a rotating brush today. Thanks and have a good day.

Handsome by Natasja: Love to see your whole routine!❤️

Beverly Nelson: Wow Nisha! You did a great job on your hair! You say, I am not a hair stylist, but you dry your hair like a stylist. When I had shorter hair, I also liked a lot of volume. I think it looks good on you! Thank you for showing us this method of drying & styling your hair. It is helpful. Also, your eye makeup is gorgeous today! Please show us a tutorial of this look. Have a good week!

Joan Taylor: I have the same hair as you and love to get it full. Thanks so much for showing this technique

BarbB inTennessee: You go girl! I have the same hair as you and I love big hair as well.

adelep46: I love your hair style and I do very similar steps to keep the volume ramped up on my head.

Admin2020: I am so envious of your lovely smooth hair. My hair just doesn't lie flat and I have so many hairs that just stick out spoiling the look.

Anna Peacock: I LOVE your hair! That’s exactly how I like mine.

Stephanie Snider: My hair is exactly the same and I love big hair (elegant volume) like yours. Thank you for sharing!

Danièle Gagnon: Hi Nisha! Very good tutorial for those with very fine hair! I have long and very thick hair and they make waves! just by taking the hair dryer I do not fit in the door frame...lol! I like to dry it without hairdryer! Sometimes I would prefer to have it thinner because in the summer I have to tie it up because I get too hot! Have a good weekend! xxx

Donna S: I have the very same flat spot on the back of my head! I have to work with it to hide it. Yours look great, I like big hair too!

Sheryl Wickenheiser: I have that same split in my hair too. Drives me crazy. I use a rotating brush also. Just had my hair cut a little bit longer than yours. I like your hair videos because I have fine hair that is thinning.

Jo Simpson: Nisha I think your hair really suits you shorter. Drying it with head upside down and then applying hair spray once you’ve styled it - again with head upside down, really does give and hold the volume. My hair is just like yours (only shorter) and very temperamental to styling products so I think I’ll give your recommendation a whirl. And that curled dryer looks amazing.

April 32: To each his own!... I think your hair looks great!

Jennifer Asigno: Your hair looks beautiful and I really like the length .

Cooking_with_Jules: Thank you for such a good and clear video. Like you I have very fine hair and a week ago had a haircut (from long hair) similar to yours. It looked ok coming out of the salon but a bit of a mop when I tried a couple of days later . Your video has given me a great inspiration

Prayon Kreutz: Your hair might be fine, but you have a lot of it! I wonder if I had stayed on HRT if my hair wouldn't have started falling out I had a "Swing Bob" in the 90s! I loved it!

Joyfully Justine: I love big hair also! It looks great! ❤

Vicki Cobb: You have beautiful hair! I have alopecia and lost my hair. I regret never being satisfied with my hair in general. You look beautiful!

Glad Burgio: Love it! I think you were too young in the 80's when big hair was all the rage. That is my favourite decade music wise. Big hair will come back in style at some point. I can't wait!

Sue Pittman: I really enjoyed this video Nisha I think your hair looks lovely I also like lots of volume x

Tina White: I love love love your hair! Gorgeous color and I love the voluminous look! It suits you very well

sharon hughes: Exellent tutorial as always x

Mysta Chambers: Hello Nisha, Another great video. Thank you so much for sharing your tips and tricks on adding volume to your hair. XXOO ❤

Janice Alleyne: Hi Nisha, hair looks great. Wish the brush came in a smaller size for shorter hair. Am getting my hair done today and am going with a similar style to one of your shorter wigs seen last year if my memory is good.

Trish Bliss: This cut looks fabulous on you and your styling makes the most of the cut in my opinion. Fine hair gal here who also loves volume. I am on the fence about whether the Dyson dryer is truly worth the spendy price tag....your opinion?? You may not be a licensed professional hair stylist but you certainly are qualitied.

Paula LaPrade: I love your bob.it looks very pretty.

Donna Stevens: Morning Nisha Always wanted to do just this, however never got around to doing it,looks very easy the way you are doing it You are a very creative lady with a lot of flair iam going to try it out thank you for sharing have a fab day Donna xoxo

Christine Kirsch: I'm a wig lady, but wish I had known that flat iron trick to give ones hair more lift. Very thin, fine hair I have. So I love wigs. I go with the Jet and Easton wigs. Short!!!!!

Claire Smith: So happy that I'm not the only one who likes big hair big volume..I also have fine blonde hair but a lot of it, especially at the back..your hair is always gorgeous!

Mel's Be Ageless: Great tips and tutorial ❤️

Shari Levy: Hi Nisha, you always look beautiful!!! I was looking through so many videos to find the one that you used a makeup brush that actually made the V shape at the outer corner of your eye... to make the outer corner darker.... I hope you remember what I'm referring too because I could really use it!!! Thank you

Stuart Pierce: Hair looks very pretty ! Jennifer

Sandra Snow: I have fine thin straight hair as well. I am taking St. Tropica hair growth vitamins and they are incredibly helpful. Even my hairdresser asked me what was I doing. Check them out Nisha.

Peg B: I love your hair like this it's super cute and sassy! ⭐

Janet Watson: Hi Nisha, Great video. I have such fine hair as well so I appreciate all of your tips and tricks. Thank you so much.

Lyn Robertson: Great tips Nisha thank you x

Lorraine Mortimer: Hi Nisha new subscriber here loved the fullness of your hair. I too am an 80's girl & have done every trick in the book to ensure my hair is "BIG" & remains in one place - but at the moment I am struggling ! I have gone fr having highlights to now having a full block color(high now very brittle) also I now have shoulder length hair & are trying to style my hair to a full long bob - (which is not staying ) the cut is good - so it must be me - I will take a look at yr previous videos when you had long hair for help !!! but any tips fr anyone would be great

Carolyn Hamilton: I just don't have time or energy to work on my hair that long, but your hair is adorable

Julie-Ann Henry: Also, I have a big face so love volume too Not easy to achieve with long hair though

jojo: I love that heating brush I must get one.

Eileen Cukierski: Hi Nisha, thank you for the tutorial, I love volume in my hair too. A question, I thought I remember you saying in a previous video about your hair, that the crimping tool might not be the best thing to use as you thought it might be damaging your fine hair. Do you still think that is the case?

Lori Becchi: "That's my ideal hair...sticking out like a scarecrow." You're so funny...me too!

40bdg: I will be trying the thickening spray! Would you believe I have a flat spot in the same place on the back of my head!
