Good evening laughs welcome to star billing address, and this is what it's all really happening tonight. Apologies for the slight delay. Now we may have some technical problems, because suddenly we did order a new rooftop on one day. It'S not right. So if the transmission goes down tonight, what we'll do is and if the technician, if the transmission goes down tonight, then basically, what will happen is we'll end the feed and we'll then reset it, and do it again so stay with us. Thank you very much for joining us tonight, review from all over the world and local wherever you are, it's great to see you thanks for spending the night with us here tonight. I'Ve got buddy hairdressing I'm alive as well. Many thanks also to mock hair care of Australia of a seven-part the UK division. Thank you very much for sponsorship. For this event, as with all of them, it's great to have great to see Alan Maxwell tonight, working with you and the little bit Justina as well. So great see on there watching now, let me introduce to my beautiful model tonight. The lovely mix Nicky Gower room take Nicky want to sell out a few people. I can um hi grace and I could be okay. So, basically, what wouldn't be doing not with Nicky is we're gon na be cutting again. A lot of people have basically requested to see a graduated Bob with a different variation now the first tech. What I did was I raised a graduation on and I graduated Bob, which of course are designed that technique myself, which will be going through elements of that haircut again tonight, but we'll be doing it with a pair of scissors to make it that a little bit More special and different, a man will be taking the corners off, which makes it that a little bit more interesting as well for the person to watch. So the hairdresser's that are watching tonight, hopefully you'll be able to re once but later and be able to learn. It as a learning to see the clients that watching tonight, hopefully, you will have a clear understanding of what goes on in hairdressing with the science and the way it all works and also you'll be able to see. Maybe a few tricks and tips in terms of working with our product range milk which we'll be working with tonight. I'M hoping people will get a lot from it and the idea is that we do a headquarters. We would normally do it. Naturally, thanks to my dad for filming you'll be hearing me, it's so important, they're, not saying which I people have been saying that which again it's natural, the whole things naturals no edits in going on tonight. If it goes down, then obviously, as I say - bigger diamonds - also to leave more reactants in tonight, nice to see ya, I think we're doing the Tiffany. I think that's the Tiffany we're going for tonight and well next week. So I also big shout to big may and that nice to see I'll be looking forward to seeing you next week, my friends so great to see you also ministry hair in Hinkley the men's barbershop great new friends nice to meet you brother from another mother. Thank you very much, also Katie from LOX in milk Mildenhall, and also Louise Batterson over near acquit, thanks again for your very own comments. As with all of you, what you've been sending so, let's get down to what it's all about tonight. Let'S see what haircut we're going to share with you? First of all, let's get it pro scissors, a comb and some styling problem so before we start any hair cook a lot to cook with cut emotion tonight. Obviously it's fat mock, volumizing, mousse, blowout mousse. The idea is with this: it creates volume as we start, but, as I said before, I always think that with any kind of product it's important, because the reason I say that cutting hair is always like a canvas. I always think. I always think that cutting airs off canvas the hairs, a canvas, and I always think that the idea is that you are going to start the process every haircuts, a journey, ok, so as with any journey as to start the beginning, the start, the beginning. For me, as a cutting lotion, many of you cut hair without any cutting lotion on some of you cook. Without putting lotion on it, I always thought to cook with a conditioner in a mousse, because again it conditions the hair and starts to work the fabric. I always think if hair is fabric, so I like something look at what we're doing then, so this hair cook will be cooked quite sure, into the back. You see a real tight graduation coming through then the parts that are different, the key elements will be keeping the length on the front when we come to the front I'll. Be then using a razor blade coming through the front section here to emphasize softens onto the face. Well, then, go through from the top part of the hair cut through to the back to give that a real push short block from the 1960s. So there's a lot of volume, then we'll go on the layers, giving us a nice, rounded layer which we've explored for the last few weeks, which illuminates the a-line dress, that's on the side and gives us more of a heart shape. So it hooks to face the idea, then, is we're going to bring this layer on the front back to be on the air now. The idea with that is, it creates more of a point at the front because we really want to emphasize the length us on it, but also leave weight. So the idea is with that. It creates a nice strong shape. That, then, will then bring us through to the fringe on the front here, which will complement the other part of the forward degree layout, which will then raise it through, will then put a nice 45 degree angle layer through the front which will just make that sit Beautifully in the corner, some of you, some of you when you do fringes, you tend to find that there's a lot of weight, that's six and the corner. This is an ideal way to eliminate the weight, then just make that really hook in by sometime a lot of people like launched on Fringe. Something is quick. You can comment, you can use a razor blade up. It goes pair of scissors slice. It down is something quite quick, and the idea is that you can get that result very fast and the guests can sit there and think that's really different. I really like that up. Some guests that come to me are those 45-degree angled layer into their fringe and they think it works really. Well, so again, it's sharing ideas, the idea to noise that we're going to share ticks and tips and trips with it that you're in a position where you can think well, yeah. That'S really nice a lot to trata when you leave today. You'Ve probably seen it before, but the idea is, if you haven't seen it, certainly try if you've never seen it and you don't understand it, I feel understand a bit better. That'S gone with what we're gon na do with the course. So, let's just stop look at the back, so working from the bones again from the school tonight, we'll be working from the recession: the parietal Ridge, the apex upper occipital bone occipital bone, which is where we're going to be going for the shortest point, which is the Bone in the school, a lower occipital bone, the mastoid process behind the ear and then finishing off with the nape, so the first part I'll draw out in a minute is we'll, be working from the back working below the occipital bone coming through to the mastoid process. Now the idea with this is we're using time again. So, if I said to you before, we've got the spiders feet, the idea is most people bring their graduated bobbing to the back, which I know you've seen already with a razor blade tonight. You'Ll see with the pair of scissors, promoting softness on the ends. The beautiful thing is that the way the hair lands, as I will cut it tonight, you will see demonstrated it will just fall naturally into the neck, which again will look very natural on Nicky's hair. So when she goes out like say she was in a shower or a swimming pool, they were just falling beautifully into the neck, and that is what makes it a unique haircut and people can then think this shape really works for me, because after all, the beautiful Craft of hairdressing, it's all about the shape, as we know, and it's all about making that longevity of the court last six weeks. Let'S move on with the cook and let's get into it so know you're all dying to say. I'M really really excited about doing this. I really just want to get into it, so let's just move on we're going to go from the apex through to the mastoid process. So again, the beautiful thing about using the Mach blowout mousse is that it keeps the hair, nice and clean as you're. Taking your sections, cleanliness is really important, as with body positioning, it's what it's all about. You'Ve got to think where you stand, they'll think when hands are positioned, so you're able to then see this shape as you're creating it. If the lines are wonky, it won't really do anything. So what we're looking for is cleanliness all the way through. Obviously, when the guests are sitting in the chair, they don't see this and they don't think about how we're talking so, let's play through here. You know. I commend any address soft, it does address it. I'Ve said to you before. I really find it respectful, because this is such a interesting job as well as a stressful job. A lot of people say you know you make it look so easy. It'S like a plaster off when, obviously when a plaster is putting plaster on the wall or a paint on something look easy and it's practice that makes perfect so going through now from the occipital bone that protrude in bone in the school through to the mastoid process, Which is now again, you can see that shape in there nice and clean out the way, because again, you've got to keep it really clean and tight coming through this side, and all we're gon na do now is this is the setup. This is how you set yourself up to win every haircut. When you do it, you need a design line that will make the haircut nice and clean. So then aesthetically, it's pleasing to the eye. So now we've got. The first panel worked out, as I said to you earlier, on we're gon na be working these sections. So if we just look at where they are now we're going from six o'clock, seven o'clock, eight o'clock nine o'clock now the idea is that you pivot your body round. As you do this. If I bring the hair back to this section, it will be exactly the same as any other graduated Bob. The idea is, I'm going to take the corner off now, most people keep a corner on which keeps a lot of weight. Here again, I said to you before many times about breaking rules. Tonight we're going to break a rule. This is going to make the hair flow around more natural. So when the side comes to it, the side panel, it all all just flow beautifully and that's really what's going to make it different. Looking at that spiders feet, who think, obviously, as you do it coming out again at six o'clock or start at you see my father film over my shoulder in a minute which I'll say to him: we've ran. If you can't see it. Obviously, I need you to see exactly what I'm doing so again. You can rewind this back and hope to get something from it. Let'S get into the core Sark mmm Thursday not tend to write whatever it is, and whatever country and big welcome to our international followers and others. A lot of Americans watching tonight good morning there's a lot of people in Italy that watch especially Rocco watching tonight. So, let's just bring dad round this way a bit. Thank you right. So taking the sections out now, the important thing is you don't want to cause drag okay. This is a bit classy drag. Most of you know what that is so just want to pull. It start nice and straight the angle is dependent on where you want to go with it. Okay, so the idea is, you then pull your own Glen you're gon na go to the second knuckle on to the onto the finger. So now that gives me the control. I'M now going to go deep off into the hair, just get it in a little bit more shorter. The ideas will keep the length. So this is this part on the bottom, which I've got to be aware of now. That is the first panel, which will just give me a nice drop and I was going to move round. So we need to be drawing this section again. Remember we're drawing round we're giving it that section. Most people who used to bring it back go on as your haircut. It'S going around like that, so I now need to bring this out toward my body. My body is at seven o'clock Don, says o'clock. Sixteen eight o'clock we'll be on that in a minute. Okay, so it's just really a question of where you're going with your hands and where you're going with your body position. The beautiful thing about this technique is that thinking of it as a pet Raptor as it bends round, that's what creates the shame and obviously, as it comes into what he's doing it's going now take the corner off I'm pulling towards my body. If I wasn't in the back, so the idea is, I'm just coming around and we're just getting a real strongest shape as we're doing that. So again, the corner is starting to disappear, which most people at this point would possibly panic. But the idea is just go with it, he does work is very natural and it looks what we often do. You want to get quite adventurous with your scissors. Put your fingers in there like that reverse way around. You might want to do this in front of a guest sometime or on stage, and then let you just go in like that and it caused by words. It'S just again. It'S just doing something different. I used to work for tunning guy. This was a classic toning gorman either one we used to go on stage, so you can just go backwards but other than cutting forwards. But again it's just keeping the advance their dresses that we've gotten here tonight occupied because everybody goes forwards. Okay, so some of you would have probably seen the comment earlier on from somebody about apprenticeships. As you all know, I'm an apprenticeship ambassador tonight. This is not about apprenticeships. This is about hairdressing, so this is dedicated purely just for what I do with hairdressing. In terms of teaching as a teacher on Scott Bailey cutting education, this is just elements of kooks that I've actually designed. I just want to share with you, so you can now see the shape coming through, that corners come off, we'll tear that underneath our way later and that'll sit in perfect. So when that bob comes in you see it just follows through quite nicely. So, let's bring that over to do the side and the shoulder now I'll say so now again we have to think about where the fingers are going just make sure it's on the stairs. That'S it there we go so we're going to go six five, four three! So now I'm just going to bring it round again and then just take it out. So again, the important part here is to remember that the fingers are going into the neck. Just while we're doing this part because again, it's important to be able to get that shape so again we're thinking what we're doing we'll just move the head-to-head round, so we're in this part again the product helps us to cook this shape a lot more easier, which Is good and again just remembering to keep those fingers in because if you don't, then obviously you lose the corner and it comes out a lot thicker. So the idea is, I'm now moving around and pulling this out towards my body where I'm sitting again, I've got my back strike just like when I used to dance and do ballet many years ago. The idea is, I don't want to be a hunchback, so I you got ta, think about you sitting, it's very important and then we're just bringing it in and taking these corners off. Like I said to you, the the bit that really throws people is taking that corner off. You'Ve just got to be really really confident when you take it off again, if was doing it with a razor blade, it would be slightly different. You saw that in haircut number one, but this would be the last of the graduated bobs that we follow. What we're doing this, because then we'll be moving on to other course, when we do the rest of these cuts in the series that I'm sharing with you. So we've now got a shape in the back that we're starting to see. Obviously, the neckline starts to do its own thing, but we'll take some one hour later with a pair of electronic clip is so we can now see the shapes coming. Let'S move on to the next part and we're going to go onto the upper occipital bone through to the mastoid process. Well, that does again we use in these bones as basic guidelines. The idea is with it that you are able to understand. There is like a grid reference. That'S on the hair. Every guest that comes into the salon would never know that we're thinking this, but they are all reference points, start roads start. The m69 meets the m1 around this area. So, let's bring that over to the side quickly, so ok Spock call me just for a second all right, hi there. You are right so very quickly. We just gon na replicate what we've just done. You see me again just put the shaping stronger. Hopefully then, you start to understand, while we're going with it and you'll see those corners really coming off here we go so hoping, Ickes are, are yours Ben I'll, be watching it I'll be making sure you're comfortable so anyway, moving on with the court? Here we go so making sure the drugs not too much. You can really see what we're going with this take a little bit more shorter again. It'S that second knuckle. It'S the discipline! Now we come to this at safe and thank you very much to all the people have written nice comments so far. It'S really made it encouraging for us to do this, because, obviously you know we are a small salon in a small village. So in the middle of nowhere - and it's just really nice to think that Nicky's giving a talk tonight as with all the models moo-coo father's, the exclusively sponsor those my dad's giving his Tom to film it because he's you know very young and come away from a Mum for the night and obviously I'm giving my atomic for this, but again it's nothing more. Enjoyable, then sitting in doing something that you really really love doing and sharing what we're doing with other people around the world. I get really inspired watching people cook. I'Ve been watching some other videos on Facebook, I'm seeing a lot of people now are doing live feeds, which is great, and I find that really inspiring I'll started, commenting on it as well. So it's great to start a community where people can share ideas a bit like the thing that's on TV, where they sort of advertise. What your not powder and people go on and advertise things with that and say I've got this technique, it's really good! So you know we're never stopping to learn, and the idea is that I'm still learning as well. So you know, thanks to everybody out there, that is contributing in every way. You can really see the graduation coming through. Now it's very strong and I think that angle now you can see that strong, shake coming through. Let'S go through to side two and my really young cameraman there. We can move through to that. Thank you very much. Let'S do sod, I'm getting really excited now. I need to sort of keep moving with it so again, this is the part where people tend to sort of lose it you've got to keep your fingers in tight and again it just keeps the shake now. The reason why I'm shaking the hair off, while I'm doing it, is because products in the hair it allows us to see the natural fall of what's going on and, of course, it's really important because it gives us that sort of Bob taught thing that you know We'Re all sort of looking for - and it just makes it a lot more easier to understand where we're going with the shape. If there was a piece of hair that wasn't correct, then we'd see immediately on this technique so again just going for the second, not cool. As we're going through elevations really important, you can see I'm elevating it slightly, but also bringing the fingers in. That'S all. I start multitasking quite dangerous for man, man, don't multitask! Maybe you always been more tasks tonight, so it can really start shape. Now, just building up, you can really see on a side profile where we're going with it. This is really starting to build around and then what we're doing is just clean off a little bit but again we'll come back to that later and we'll get a chance to see exactly what it's all about. But you can really start to see that shape building. So the lines in there and again it's just a question of making it look aesthetically pleasing to the eye which is good so now we're gon na move on to the top. No, it's just been black, so so the important thing to do is whilst you're working on the cup is to sort of maintain, where you're at with it and think about where you're going with your sectioning. Because again, your sections important and also if I cannot emphasize enough it's the hand, positioning and it's also the blob position - it's like a bob I'll go run away. The body positioning, because obviously this is a body that moves around. So the body becomes the artery. We bring the hair to. I want to be stunning. Australian I'd only be bending around, so it's really important to sort of keep it all. You know sensible and think of your health, which is very important. A lot hairdressers bend around and get really bad injuries at early ages. So you know just ever think about that that where you stand and how you stand, how you maneuver the hair around is called mechanics. How the arm moves. Other body moves have a little think about that when you cut hair tomorrow, I think about every day from respecting my teachers. That taught me say thank you very much. Let'S move up so I'm gon na go through the sides again, just these back panels. Again we call this a quadrant. If you go on the top with a square quadrant, one two, three four we're now just about to hit quadrant one, which is in the back corner again the back left-hand corner. Now on this part, we will really start to see that shape emerge in the back again we're looking to take the corner off. This is the bit: that's really going to sort of change it a lot now the cutting element of this our mudgin. For those of you that are putting your children to bed or having dinner or glimpse in at EastEnders Croatian Street, whatever is on you can tell, I won't watch it and it's a question of we'll be working on this. Now. The wet part of the relationship that caught for the next sort of 15 minutes then we'll come into the element of the blow-dry. Again, you can really see now, I'm just taking that corner out. Sandwich is coming off that corner. If you were doing it normally it'd be mature, Paul right, but can you be taking it out? So you can see literally how much is coming off is really starting to take it off and then starts to shape. That ruling in so that corner comes off the back of the hair, then we'll go into the blow-dry and then we'll go into the personalization part of cook, which again the personalization will be using electronic clippers, Cillian scissors razor blades. That part thing you know, so the tooling is really important change that in the element of the cut tonight, it's a really showcase and celebrate what we can do to make their cook both aesthetically pleasing to the eye and also in terms of practicality. So it can sort of keep its shape nicely for six to eight weeks, because again, guests of today are looking for added value as well as world-class customer service and the idea again we're taking this corner out. It keeps that added value running and the consistency of the cut as well, so it works nice now, if you can see where we've gone with this, if we put the Bob section which you can almost see on a doctor dot on the back to the front, It creates no gaps in the back there generally, you would get a little gap that appears so with this. The gap disappears and it all just folds in beautifully and just gives it a nice shape. So you can almost picture where we're going with that. So again, the shape just looks quite nice and natural. If you look at it from the back, we can really see that sort of Bend in there. It looks really natural. I can't see what we're going with it, which is the most important thing that I can see what we're going with it. You'Ll Nick you cannot, but I'm sure she will when she watches this on playback. So let's go to camera angle. Number two back on the stairs again and you'll, see what's going on so again, just keep it nice and clean, and this is what it's all about. I'Ll teach these technique quite a bit when I go out on the road, some of you, I've visited you Salam's. Thank you very much in the past for allowing me to share this with you. If you still remember it, if you use it as brilliant, if you have forgotten it, this idea that I came with doing this tonight is a tool for you to use an education tool which will remind you of how to do it and ice were my babies That I teach you know so I do come on this and look at it occasionally. So thank you very much. If you're watching and paying attention tonight again, keeping all deceptions clean and again it's pulling it towards my shape of where I'm standing, I'm not pulling it back. I want to keep this shape really strong, so it really makes a statement when Nicky is out on the street, so people hopefully will come over and say: hey looks really nice Nicky and you know that's what it's all about. Every guest wants that sort of thing. Where a person comes up to them in the street and I Karen would cut her hair the first time she'd been to Cambodia for a holiday. So when he came up to her while she was walking along the the mountains in Cambodia, thousands of miles away from England and said I really like your hair, I take a photograph of it. Can I say it does work. People do notice and again it makes a big difference. You'Ll see this elevation as I'm just coming through the back. Now again, it just keeps it clean. It'S our second knuckle. If you up to the second knuckle, it doesn't cut your finger, but also this is where the most amount of tension is in the core you can see. Now I wanna shake that off. You can really see that second part that could just folding in nice. Then you can still work it out. Well we're gon na go with this cut now on here. So we've taken the whole back panel out below the occipital bone to the nape, which now gives us stronger shape. We can come back inside again with thinning scissors later, but the idea is, you can wash that and leave it and you can come out of a pool and it'll still fall into place. All it is it's breaking that rule that one rule and to take the corner off which again, hopefully some of you, will and think about possibly trying that and breaking a rule and taking the corner, because it really will make a difference. Let'S now move on to the next part, which is on the top we're going to go on to the sides, so forgetting the hot cross form section, I'm going to work from the apex, which is on the top passing over the parietal Ridge coming through to the Recession, which is on the front here of Nikki's head this, now keeps the section in nice and clean again. I was very fortunate to be able to learn the systems and work for tunning guy in the past. Remy'S is more local. The vidal sassoon cutting program and also the paul mitchell program. So all those programs are quite similar now there again another cutting lotion. We use them to keep everything nice and damp we're going to be working with fat and muck volumizer, which again will be an ultra lightweight spray. But it will also thicken the hair up which again contains panthenol, which, in its own right, attaches itself to the hair and gives us a nice plump volume sort of finish.
