I am the owner of (Irene's Braids) located in Suwanee, GA. I'm always accepting new clients. I work out of my own private Salon Suite.

Hey guys, it's irene sprays and i am back with another video all right, you guys, so let's just go ahead and get right into it. Today, i'll be doing a tutorial on traditional box braids, it will be small, traditional box braids mid back length, so we are using color, hair 1b. Of course we're using expressions. Braiding hair. I didn't show the products, but today i'll be using some shining jam and i'll be using some evens pomade gel and, of course, my irene spray, braids, precision, parting comb and, of course, we have um approximately six bundles of braiding hair. So what i did was is i went ahead and parted out my clients, hair in the back. I did take more of her hair for the for the first row. It because she's, a little thinner back there um due to wearing a lot of wigs and the combs, have been rubbing up against the back of her hair. So what i did was i made sure that i had enough of her natural hair. So that way, the braid within itself be able to hold nicely and it wouldn't be too much weight. So when i braid in my braid, i like to go ahead and do a crossover method and i make three legs and when i make those three legs i like to then take my index and thumb finger to hold on to the middle braid or the middle Hair strand and then i take my index finger from my left hand and push through, and i continue to swap my index fingers and keep pushing through and swap again and push through. So until the braid is secure and i have a nicely done braid. So, as you see here, i continued on with underhanding my braid, and i will continue to do that until i complete the braid all the way down to the tip i braid all of my box braids down. As far as i can to the tip leaving a nice smooth strand of hair left at the bottom, so that's very important guys to braid your break completely through that way. Your braids are not unraveling. So, as you see, the braids are not too tight back here. They'Re done nice nicely um, you know this is how they should look again. I know her. Hair is a little thinner back here. So i made sure i took enough of her and natural hair to have the braid lay on it versus um. Taking you know her hair and thinner in smaller sections. I didn't want to do that, so i just you know, use more of her hair again, as i explained, i've already sectioned the hair to three legs and i will be swapping my index fingers back and forth through the braid until i complete my next braid. So this is braid number three and pretty much the process is going by. Well, i kept asking her in the video um behind the scenes. How was, how does the braids feel it was anything too tight and, of course she she didn't feel. Like anything, was too tight, she actually said she couldn't feel them at all, which is great. You know, so i will continue to keep parting on her hair. I think i want to say about four to five rows. I will be just partnering straight across in the back of her head and i will be using my shiny jam to clean up those parts to make sure those parts are nice and crispy, because that always makes the braids look good and then um. I will come back at the row number five um that we have parted out in the back and i will be back to show you how i do the rest all right, you guys so pretty much as you see after approximately about four rows here um. I think we did a total of five. I don't really count my rows, you guys, and i don't count how many braids are in a row and the reason why i don't do that is because everyone's head size is different. So if you ask me how many braids per row, i really feel like sometimes that's a silly question when um, sometimes my clients, not clients, but um. Subscribers. Ask me that only because everybody's head size is different, so i don't feel like you should ever want to count. How many braids should be in a row is because it's never going to be the same. You want to just make the foundation, and then you want to just get a formula of how it should be done and then go off of that, because it's going to always be a difference in each client's: um, not head, but uh style of how it turns Out, okay, so keep that in mind all right. So, as you see here, i'm doing u-shaped party now i am completely done with braiding with parting. My part straight across. I have continued on with doing u-shaped parting. So once you reach above the ear, you want to go ahead and start u-shaped parting off your parts like, like you see that i did here again, i'm going back to the strand the three leg, strand method that i showed you and i'm going to keep swapping My index fingers back and forth until i complete my braid and that just helps me keep the knots, nice and small. I don't like to see thick knots. I don't like to see the braid looking too bulky. This just gives it a nice look and it doesn't look bulky at all and that's kind of what you want to see here and, of course, i'm going to continue to underhand my braids and then add in extra hair, if needed, to fill the braid in more And then, of course, complete the length that we're looking for okay, so, yes, her braids are coming out nicely she's um enjoying them. I had her. I stopped a lot throughout the process of the me doing her hair. Just let her see it. She drove from mississippi to georgia, so i wanted to give her confirmation that you know it was worth the drive and that you know the birds are coming out nicely being that this is her first time here at irene's braids salon. So she was very, very um. Happy about that um. You know with me showing her the process, and i took a lot of video clips and i let her see the video clips and she was extremely satisfied with how her service was looking so far. So that, of course, made me happy that she was happy all right. You guys so yeah, i'm gon na continue parting out my roles. I will be doing approximately about four rows. Um part it out in a u-shaped part and then i'll be back to show you how i complete the entire look. So with that being said, let's continue watching so so i've completed the four rows where i did all my u-shaped parting. So now i'm bringing my rows straight across. I did approximately six rows at the top straight back and what i'm doing here is i'm making sure that my lines that i did on the opposite side for her middle part are equivalent to what i'm doing on the right side of her head. So that way that when she wears her hair down the middle part, her rows are even inconsistent. So, as you see here, i lined up um with my irene spray parades, precision party comb. I lined it up with whatever i did on the opposite side. So that way it can be even and it can look sharp and everything looks consistent, and so that's what i did here so her braids, you know, look great they're fabulous and if i didn't mention this is color one in her head um, her natural hair is A 1b, but she wanted to go for color, one, which is totally fine um. I have a lot of clients whose hair color is a little bit lighter or darker, and they either want to go for a lighter color, because it's springtime or if it's fall, you can always go for a darker color. Even if your hair color is lighter. It doesn't matter we can always try to make things. Work, however, do not forget to click the links in the description box.
