How To: Indian Side Braid Hair Style Tutorial

This side braid hairstyle is perfect if you are looking for a change for an event like an Indian or Pakistani wedding, mehndi, walima. The side plait ponytail is created using hair extensions on medium to short hair to create length. This hair style is very much in trend these days amongst Bollywood actresses and on Asian catwalks.

Hello, everyone today we'll be showing you how to do this side, braid on medium length, hair with short layers, we'll be using hair extensions to achieve the length in this look. You want to start by taking small sections at the back and curling them in different directions. To get more volume and texture in the hair, this really doesn't have to be neat because we'll be pinning and braiding anyway.. As you can see, the curls are being alternated in direction. You have one curl point in then the next pointing out... The point is to create texture in the hair, Then grab the hair at the front and divide it into three sections. One in the middle and one on either side. Now you are going to take thin sections and backcomb, then hairspray., And continue doing this until you've run out of hair. Notice that the sections are neither too thin nor too thick. the front hair is very important in any hairstyle, so make sure you take your time On this section, We are going to leave the front out for the moment and start backcombing. The sides Then lightly comb, the top of the hair to combine the different sections into one Now. Take the front. Backcomb hairspray then push it back, Leave strands out at the sides which you can curl at the end. Now you are going to push all the hair to one side and pin it., Since my hair isn't long enough to reach the side, we'll be taking small strands and twisting to pin them up. Do this with 2 or 3 strands Now we are going to use hair extensions to give my hair the length for the braid.. If you curl the extensions, this will give a much nicer messy sort of look... It doesn't matter if the extensions haven't been put in neatly, because all the imperfections will get hidden in the braid. See. Now you can't even tell that you have extensions in.. At this point. You could even just leave your hair to one side, will curls or something Now take one strand from the front and twist it back just like before Then start braiding. The hair, like you, see, Make the necessary adjustments with the tail comb and curl the strands you left at the front. We are using beads put into hair pins to accessorise this look, but you could leave it as is or use a flower or whatever you want., And then you are done. I hope you liked this video.
