Diy Box Braids Like A Pro! Low Tension Technique

Welcome back everyone! This video is a step by step tutorial on how I did my DIY Box Breads like a PRO! I am so happy with how the braids came out and hope you all find this tutorial helpful and the “nudge” you needed to see your #coinz and DIY!! Love yall!! XO

HAIR SPECS

I used 8 bags of this hair BUT you can only purchase in packs of 5. This hair did not need to be stretched in my opinion because the ends were already pretty frayed out of the package. This hair is SO FREAKIN SOFT - I love it so much! This is one of the best experiences I’ve had with braiding hair! Hardly tangled and was easy to detangle if it did.

Harry one: what's up welcome back to my channel for this DIY box, braids tutorial, this is going to be using the rubber band method to create these flawless braids I'll, also be telling you has all the details on the hair that I use as well, but first I'Ll, let you guys know exactly what you need to complete this look step. One is pretty self-explanatory. I'M just sectioning my hair with a rat tail comb, and I find that using this type of comb definitely gives me more precision with my parting and I just part as I go honestly. So it's pretty basic step. Two is a crucial step which is moisturizing and sealing my hair before I actually braid it up. So I chose this coconut oil daily moisturizer from urban hydration and jamaican black castor oil as my two ingredients to seal in my hair. Obviously, you can use whatever moisturizer and oils you like best for your hair type, but for me these works great, so lay my edges. I'M using the cream of nature, perfect edges extra hold and I like this edge control because it really does hold my hair in place. And I do not have to worry about my hair freezing out or anything like that and then to add to my hair that I'm actually braiding up I'm using this flexible snot. Yes, it's literally like the texture of snot. It'S really like a liquid edge control. In my opinion, but I'm using this throughout the rest of my hair, so that when I braid my hair, it all kind of binds together. This is also a really great product to use, especially if you have a layered hair. My hair is all kinds of layers, and this really helps keep my ends kind of tucked away in of the brave, but just be careful with this stuff. It does dry and get tacky and sticky really really fast. So you might have some residue if you use too much now we're ready to add our rubber bands, and I am only going to semi tightly twist these rubber bands onto my hair, because the bole of this style is to protect my hair and not rip out By edges and finally, it is time to rape and I'm using my hair that is in this rubber band. As my third leg of my braid, so I just naturally braid my hair with the braiding hair and I'll go ahead and add a few more clips of me doing this a couple more times, so you guys can really see how to do it, but yeah. It'S pretty basic, pretty easy when it comes to this part and I'll. Let the trial go on and play until the very end. So now that all the braiding is done, it is time to seal in those ends. A lot of people like to use seem to seal their ends. I find that I can never make that work. I have tried it with so many different types of braiding hair and it just never works for me, but I found a different way that takes a little bit longer, but is just as good as if you are steaming your ends and honestly, a lot less messy And wet so I'm going to be using this flat iron to just seal it, so I'm just gently pressing each braid at the end, until I feel like it is secured and to take it a step further, you can always add some jewels or some bling to Your hair and so I'll show you guys here how I added some beautiful accents to my braids I'll, go ahead and put the direct links to where I got the jewels and the barbed wire down below. So you guys can go and get the exact ones that I have and then that's it. That is how you can do your own DIY box braids. I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial. Let me know if you want to see any other braided hairstyles and I would love to do those until next time. I will see you guys in the next video bye

MotherKitten24: These came out great. I've never heard of steam being used for the ends. Dip them in boiling water dry them off then dip again. I use the flat iron technique too. Ppl just need to be very careful and not burn the braid off it has to be on low. So if you can its better to just boil them when you have this many.

Little Shaman Productions: Amazing!! So beautiful!!

Kayla Humphrey: You are seriously so so SO gorgeous . I really enjoy your videos! For sure my fave Youtuber ! Keep doing your thing girl !

Baby Cali: PRO TIP: You need to stretch the hair more. Thinning out the ends of the hair makes look neater & the braids won't unravel.

Ladii_Star1011: I remember braiding my hair like this as a kid (not knowing they were box braids) and I loved it. Unfortunately when I went to school with the braids, I got made fun of and went to the bathroom and took them out and I've never worn my hair like that ever since. Now at 28 I still won't do this look on myself, although being hispanic I do feel like it would be cultural appropriation if I did it. Bullying is horrible...

Tyela McGee: I just discover you and I already like you, I loved this method and I can't wait to try this with my own hair

Jasmine Smith: Really nice technique!

DassahMariee: I love it!

Cindy Denu: Thank you thank you so simple I can do it myself... Subscribed

Anastasia Yiannakou: I saw thousands of videos for box braids and this video is the only one that shows exactly how to make them

nvrnakednails1: They came out very nice! Really cool technique with the rubber bands that way you can control the tension. Are they heavy?

Black and Blessed: I use got2be glued I may need to try the snot to see how it works also so far I'm loving the got2b glued on binding my hair in these twist

_블랙스완: So pretty! I would try that but scared it might break my hair

fe. Raquel: I loved it so much I want to do a day.

Sharon Baker: Beautiful!!!

Jessica F: Love your method!

Cheri: SUPER PRETTYY IT SUITS YOU VERY WELL!
