Hey everyone, I'm Bianca, Rene and watching biank Rene today and today, I'm gon na show you how I wash these braids on my little after shower routine. Now I have no braids expert. This is the second time that I've had braids and every time I do it. I kind of learned a thing or two and I try new products so today. First of all, I do have these very long blonde braids. This is a mixture of two colors make sure you watch my previous video to see my whole braiding process and how to prep your hair before getting braids. But this time I did decide to add some synthetic curly hair to the bottom, my braids, just to give it a different look. You know have some curls on the end, because it's kind of my thing and this hair is literally like plastic. You don't really have to take care of it. The whole point of getting braids that is gon na be a very low maintenance experience. You don't have to do anything, so I know as US, curly people we're just so used to using like 100 products to make our hair look good, but with braids. You don't have to think like that anymore. This is a very simplified way of life tomorrow. Teen is very simple, very low-maintenance, but without further ado, let me show you exactly how I wash these braids now before I show you how I wash the brace. Let me show you how I put them up and away on the dates that I don't need to wash them now. This is a jumbo scrunchie by goody and I'm gon na grab all of my hair towards the front kinda like how we do for a pineapple and just wrap it around and bring the scrunchie down to the base or your actual head. Then you look like this. Now some of you asked me to do a tutorial on that little beehive picture that I posted on Instagram. All I did was wrap it around one time and then tuck in the extra long curly pieces and the back. That'S literally it and tada cute little braided beehive. Then I grabbed a giant jumbo shower cap. This is by the main choice. It really will fit over just about anyone's head, and it just covers all of my hair perfectly. But if you don't have a jumbo one, you could just get two regular sized one just put one on the front and then use the other one to cover at the back of your head. And then you know just as safe everything is nice and covered. Now, on wash days, which could be once a week or even less, depending on how your scalp feels I'm going to really want to focus on getting rid of this build up, this might be from my edge control. There'S some flakiness could be. Dandruff could be dryness who knows, but regardless it needs to go so. First, I'm gon na rinse off my scalp how to get rid of as much as possible and warning once your braids get soaked. It'S so heavy you're gon na feel your head just be pulled back. You'Re gon na have the strongest neck in the game and then I'm going to be grabbing my diva curl buildup buster. This is always my go-to, whether I'm braided or curly, just to really get rid of any product buildup that might be on my scalp. I like it because it does have a nozzle, so I could just easily place the product right between my braids right along any openings of my scalp. That is visible. Then you're going to gently rub the shampoo on any open spaces of your scalp in between the braids and just really rub away any type of product. Buildup I'll, be completely honest. I probably could have been more gentle when rubbing this in, but I knew I had to take out my braids in the next two days, so I kind of was over it and just was trying to get the job done. But if you want your braids to last longer and look neater, obviously be as gentle as possible once your scalp toasts, nice and clean, then just rinse it all out and here's how my hair looks clean and showered and soaking wet. As you could see, the curls are soaked, but they're still curly. The water is not going to really affect them in any way. You don't really have to do anything else, but if you are worried about your hair being dry, while on the braids, you could deep conditioned so its grab a deep conditioner and really moisturize it on the top of the braids, where your actual natural hair is. I ended up grabbing my favorite, see not your mother's matcha green-tea, wild apple blossoms, deep conditioner, but I honestly wouldn't recommend you using any of your favorites for this. Your hair is fine in these braids. So don't use your good stuff just use something else that you like, don't really care about and let that sit for 20 minutes if you want and then rinse it out, and that is how I wash my braids alright. So after I get out the shower, usually my braids are like ripping wet, so I'm going to grab a washcloth wrap them all up in the washcloth like. So then you get your Jumbo scrunchie and just wrap it around like. So it's not while you're doing your makeup or getting dressed all the water is just gon na soak into this towel, instead of all over your clothes, so I've been letting this hit for a while. This towel is soaked in my braids are now nice and dry. So, let's get back to the scalp at this point you could use essential oils on your scalp, like jojoba oil, jamaican black, castor oil. You could even make like a mixture and add some like citrus or peppermint. Oil is really good for your scalp. So now, for my scalp, I'm gon na try something new. This is the new texture by Cantu oil and vitamin scalp saver. So going to the back of this, it has a couple: benefits: has shea butters? What'S the hydrate and nourish rosemary oil, moisturizes dry scalp burdock root oil, which is supposed to soothe itchiness. That'S gon na be great for braids vitamin A fights free radicals, vitamin D helps hair growth, vitamin E and shine, and vitamin K promotes strength. Oh wow that smells very natural like here. We go. Oh yeah all right rub this in there especially try to get it anywhere. You might be itchy. I can't say I'm really a fan of the smell of this. I personally prefer like floral or fruity scents. This is definitely giving you like a very plant type of smell, but it has a lot of benefits, so I'm just gon na power through so now my scalp does feel nice and moisturize. I recommend doing this anytime. Your scalp feels dry or maybe leave at nighttime. So get soaked in while you sleep and now for our actual hair, there really isn't much that you have to do per se. Your hair is being protected in these braids. But if you are worried about your hair drying out, you can get a spray leave-in conditioners. This is another one I haven't tried. You haven't get very experimental today. This is the not your mother's natural oil and honey, hum kala, Hari, Kalahari, Kalahari, Desert, melon repair and protect leave-in conditioner helps amplify softness and maximize smoothness. Alright, that's not much there. So I'm just gon na spray threats upon my braids and you really have to focus on where your hair would be. None of this down here is my actual hair. This is just all plastic. This is like your hair used to be. It would used to use silicone if you don't have a spray leave-in conditioner. You could just get any type of like water bottle and add some of your own conditioner in there and make your own little spray. And there you go. That'S all there really is to it. The whole point of braids is for you to have a hair cell. That'S very low-maintenance, you could just take a shower and get out and you don't really have to do anything. But if you are concerned about dryness, don't leave in conditioner, you could add a deep conditioner if you want. I just personally recommend wasting any of your good, deep conditioner on all this, just like fake braiding hair, but maybe really focusing on where here actually is in the braid. And, of course, if you are experiencing any itching or dryness on your scalp, then just add some oils to soothe everything. The only other thing I do well, I have great, is laying these baby hairs, so I am gon na get my curls blueberry bliss control paste and I finally invested when not really. This came in a wig box, but I finally got a real edge control brush. Instead of a tooth brush, so let me just get some on here shut up, that's all! I literally do. I purposely added this synthetic curly hair to the end, because I didn't want to have to actually worry about taking care of any curls or having to worry about frizz or definition. So these curls are just gon na stay curly or the wash them or not. Myrna J: Yessss I love your technique. I washed my box braids last summer and Honey it took me a week for it to dry.

BeautyWearsBoots: I've finally reached the point where I don't have excessive halo frizz! I've been sulfate free (except for clarifying washes) for several years now, silicone free (except for mistakes) for 5 months, I reduced my heat styling 5 months ago, and finally quit heat (except low heat diffusing) 2 months ago. I saw pictures of my straight hair the other day and I didn't even miss it! I think the secret to my success has been the shea moisture protein mask India batson recommended

Kinley Bowman: I finally big chopped into a pixie cut thanks for inspiring me to do that. Also love the braids.

GraceMarieHere: Love these braids!! Never done them but would really love to. You look amazing!!!

A. K. H.: Part your braids in the middle and swing them towards the front, while shampooing. It helps balance out the extreme heaviness from the water!

Alexis Perez: Going to be getting my hair braid for my upcoming trip. I didn't know I could wash them thanks for sharing!!!

Denise Oates: Great video with a lot of information. I have not done the braid thing. I lost quite a bit of hair several months ago and the pharmacist said it could be one of my meds. Sigh. I was so excited about the stretch out length. so I washed it and while I was putting on my leave in conditioner, the hair was coming all out in my hand. I went from down past my bra band stretch to the collar bone and lot of that probably need cutting. I am 57 and hair don't grow that easy nor thick for some of us. I have been looking at braided styles, but worry about age appropriateness of the style. I do need a don't touch style, where I can swim and wear hats. Thanks for sharing and blessing to you in the days to come.

kapparhotau181: Never washed my hair while in braids. I would just spray with aloe and water. Let my hair dry a little for a few mins and while still damp put black castor oil avocado oil, peppermint oil, lemon oil, & water spray mix on my scalp

Chloe Edmonds: You can use a hand held shower head to shampoo your roots without getting all your braids wet and heavy. Dries quicker also!

Spoonyonthemoon: So low maintenance, now I wish I could get braids too! It looks so good on you btw

Rochelle Naturally: So glad you made this video. I've been thinking about getting twists but so very concerned about how the added (nvr had any hair extensions before) hair would affect my real hair ie, dryness, breakage and so on. I have fine hair and it is fairly easy to break - thin strands (although I have been DC'g more than ever, thanks to you)! But i guess no need to worry ... Just Do it!!! Thank you!

NaturallyJelisa: You're always uploading one amazing video after the other. ❤️❤️

Misty Nicholson: Thanks for making this video very helpful and clear

Rosely Sisa: I finally got box braids for the first time yesterday!!! And your videos helped so much Thanks Bianca. Just one question - is it suppose to be kinda difficult and a little painful at the scalp when you tie the braids into an updo the first few days? My braids don’t feel tight when they’re down but I feel more of a pull at my roots when I put each braid up. Should I just give it a few days for it to loosen up to do an updo? I don’t want to yank my hair out too soon lol

Rachel Nicole: This is perfect I literally just got box braids for the first time yesterday I’m so excited to post a video with them

Moriah Russell: Omg I do the same thing with a towel and scrunchie I thought I was the only one

Felicia Dunn: I love braids it gives me an opportunity to let my hair rest. I shed a lot of hair and I’m medium density and medium length. I will follow these techniques. Oh most silicones are water soluble and will rinse out with sulfate shampoo.

Just Shanie101: I don't wash my hair at all while it's in braids. I just oil my scalp every few days or so.

Adrienne Jones: How did you keep the ends of your real hair in the braids? When I had box braids, after the first wash the ends of my real hair was sticking out everywhere and it looked terrible.

Cåt ll: Hi, I'm thinking about getting box braids and keep them for a couple of months (or more). What do you recommend, synthetic or human hair? I'll be (of course) washing and drying my braids (with a hair dryer twice a week) I don't want to ruin my own hair...what would be the best option, human, synthetic? or it doesn't matter? Thanks!

Ayanna Jones: Honey when u wanna keep your box braids in for a while but don’t wNna take them out I need to watch this video

Healy Means: Great video! Tfs.
