After 400 video tutorials, we realized we don't have the simplest ones, haha. So we decided to create this back-to-basics series where you can learn how to do the most basic braiding techniques, so that you can incorporate them into more complex hairstyles. In this tutorial, you will learn how to do the basic dutch braid.

In this tutorial, you're going to learn how to do a classic Dutch braid start by sectioning your hair at the top and split it into three equal sections. Take the right section of hair and cross it under the middle now take some hair from your left side. Combined it with the left section and cross under the middle then take some hair from your right side. Combine it with the right section and cross under the middle. That'S pretty much! It continue this technique all the way down whenever you're doing a hairstyle in the back of your head. It'S a great idea to get a mirror and just continuously keep checking the back to make sure that you're happy with the way it looks when you get to the nape of the neck. Your arms may be a little bit tired. So this is a great time to bring the rest of the hair to the side and finish off with a regular three strand braid and there you have it a beautiful classic Dutch braid. If you want, you can always pull on the braid to make it a little bit looser and fluffier. That'S it now. You know how to Dutch braid

Florida Gurl: I am not sure who Mimi is, but this is PERFECTION on a "how to" video demonstration to get this done yourself. I learned to French braid in 1988. The girl with hair down to the back of her knees showed me the exact way it is filmed here. This is the way to learn because you can see how the hands have to move. French is on the inside and Dutch is on the outside. Now that I can FINALLY do the Dutch, I probably won't ever do the French again. I am grateful for this video. I can turn this into all kinds of fun hair styles now!! :-)
