Criss Cross Braid Hair Tutorial (French Fishtail Cheat) Easy Hairstyles

This hair tutorial will show you how to create two versions of a criss-cross braid hairstyle. It is very similar to a french fishtail braid but it's slightly different because it omits the step of incorporating the new strand to the main strand before crossing over to the opposite side. Does that make sense? It's a little bit confusing. Perhaps I'll show you how to do a french fishtail braid in another video. :)
By the way, this hairstyle will work on medium to long hair. It can be worn casually or you can dress it up for formals, proms, weddings, etc.

Hey guys in this video, I'm going to show you how to do this easy crisscross spray that you can wear as a half updo or a ponytail. So without further ado, let's begin your Mane has to be pretty tamed for this hairstyle, so brush your hair and make sure it's smooth and tangle free to start the braid to pick up a section of hair on each side of your head and cross them over. Each other like so since these two strands are going to stay in the exact same position throughout the whole braid we're going to label them as left strand and right strands, keep the two strands separated then pick up a section of hair on the left side cross. It over and add it to the right strand now pick up a section of hair on the right side cross it over and add it to the left strand. And then you just keep on going so pick up a section of hair on the left side cross. It over and add it to the right now pick up a section on the right cross it over and add it to the left and every now and then you just want to pull on the two stones to make sure that everything is nice and tight. Since the first look at the half up, half down hairstyle, I'm only going to create this braid halfway down to end the braid. You want to keep these two strands separated so I'll pick up a section of hair. Add it to the left strand and tie them together with an elastic band. This will keep the braid up and secured, and for the other side you want to do the exact same thing. But if you don't want to use elastic bands, you can always use bobby pins, which I'm going to show you how to do here. Use your stronger, bobby, pin to secure the right strand in place then push it up and underneath the braid to hide it. When the bobby pin and the elastic bands are hidden, your hairstyle is complete to turn this into a formal look, just add: hair accessories and curl your hair for the ponytail version of this hairstyle start your braid, as you did before, still take two strands of hair And cross them over each other pick up a strand on the left side cross it over and add it to the right, then pick up a section of hair on the right side cross it over and add it to the left. So this time you want to work the braid all the way down until you reach the nape of your neck. You can pick up larger chunks of hair to make it faster, but I prefer picking up small sections of hair to give it that intricate look for those of you who know how to do a French fishtail braid you'll find that this brain is very similar. But it's a lot easier to do, because you're only doing one step after you incorporate all your hair into the braid, combine the two strands and tie them together, pick up a strand of hair from your ponytail and wrap it around the elastic band to conceal it. To hold it in place, use a bobby, pin or another elastic band. Here I opted for another elastic band, tie in your ponytail to hide the second elastic band and you're done.
