Hey it's Shaunell from Pretty Hair is Fun, and this week's hairstyle tutorial is going to be a redo of an old video. We did a long time ago when this one was three., So we reviewed it and thought we could probably update it a little bit and make it a little more complete.. She was getting a little restless when we shot the video, so we thought we'd finish it off and show you again how to do a basic French Braid.. I get a lot of requests for it, so I thought I'd shoot another video and hopefully it will be a good help for you that are learning how to do braids for the first time and for Dads and whoever is learning how to master this basic braid.. We hope you like it To begin your French Braid comb. All the hair back from the face. Then grab hair from the front by the temples and bring it back.. I like to begin with the braid starting farther back on the head to avoid any poofiness at the front., I'm adding in a little more hair to give it a softer look., Don't pull it too tight.. She has some flyaways, so I'm spraying it with water. A little. Beginning right is the best way to make a hairstyle look good.. If you get this all taken care of, then you are ready to go.. So now we are ready to begin Split the hair in three sections evenly as possible and begin by crossing the right side over and then the left side like a regular braid., Then bring the right side over hold it and then pull hair from the right side. Add it to your first section, then: do your left side. Bring it over part off hair? Add it to it smooth out the hair and continue on down the head.. You want to make your hair sections, the same. Add in the hair, switch hands., Bring it over., Get hair. Add it in. Pick up the hair. Add it to it. Switch hands.. You can see how I have my middle finger holding the piece. I am adding hair to and then I'm using my thumb on top to hold the one underneath tight. Getting your fingers placed is half the battle.. I reach, through with my three bottom fingers and use my two pinchers up here, to hold the hair and then switch to use my middle finger to hold the section brought over.. This is how I do it not how you have to. ). Do whatever feels the best., I'm hoping that some of you that have been emailing me and requesting lessons on how to do a french braid that this will help you more. I've done a french braid already, but this video will hopefully be more clear., I'm to the Last bit of hair, so I'll add it in. One tip when you are doing a french braid., Don't add in the hair, far down on her neck, as that hair tends to get loose and doesn't stay in as well. Now I've added in all my hair and Then I will finish: braiding the rest. If your hair gets a lot of tangles. While you are doing this comb it out before you braid it in it will eliminate a lot of bubbles and will make it look. Neat.. Her hair is straight today, so we aren't having too much of that. When you are to the end put in your elastic, And that is a French Braid.
