Hey Clem fam Linwood and my beautiful daughter, Alexandria here and today we are going to be doing a back-to-school hairstyle. That is really really simple and I think you guys are going to like it. I know a lot of times. I do really complicated stuff on this channel. I don't want you guys to feel like everything is overly complex. She does wear a lot of really simple styles, too, and to me, it's nice to be able to incorporate that in so I'm gon na go ahead and get her started. She'S already been shampooed and conditioned with Shea moistures high porosity line, which works really well for helping to detangle his hair because it's naturally very prone to tinkling and nodding and dryness. And then I'm going to put a bit of jojoba oil in there and we'll get her taken care of okay, glam fam. So you can see here I'm putting the oil in her hair. The lovely thing about it is: it helps to detangle hair and especially if you're dealing with tender-headed babies, the hobo oil really helps now, of course, I do that's all throughout her hair and then I couple it with a leap in and usually, if I'm doing, a Braided style, I can kind of be a bit more heavy-handed with it, but if you're gon na be pressing out or something like that, I'll tell you less is more so from there I'm gon na put in some ashame moisture, coconut oil leave-in, and then we are Just going to go ahead and begin brushing the hair out, which look, no pain, no tears, okay, glam fam, so I have a top portion of her hair sectioned off, and I have two small sections in here: I'll show you from the top, so you can see That a bit all of the rest of the hair I've got pinned back, except for this small section around the ear here and I have a little something special plan there. But Sam bring your head up for me. Please! So, just you guys some cars tape on the top. Just so you guys can kind of see from the top. We'Ve got a tilt back just a little bit. My baby we've got like a cat eye type shape coming around that parietal Ridge, same thing on the opposite side, and then we had just a very thin section. This parted out right around that coming from that very front hairline, so right in here. Coming from that front, hairline on back so what I'm gon na do is cornrow this piece here and then we're going to do a large Dutch braid, someone's gon na shave me for that. But yes, I did say Dutch braid. I have a video tutorial in case. You guys want to know the difference between the two for all this. We just got upset and then we're going to do another cornrow right along here on the side, friends and then I'll show you guys what I'm gon na do with the rest of this. So I'm gon na go ahead and get you started and I'll just let you guys look in there. Alright, you guys so here I am beginning to cornrow her hair and I will say, I've had quite a few people lately that have been asking me for parting tutorials, so here's the favor I have for you if you're one of those people that wants me to Do a parting tutorial. Please leave me a comment down in the comment box, letting me know what exactly about parting. You have difficulties with, so I know exactly what to address in that video and that be more than happy to do so. So I am of course cornrowing her hair, which you guys will notice my hand. Positioning is slightly different, that's mainly because her hair is wet and I don't have adequate Clips, so I am holding hair out of the way with the backs of my hands. While I braid this is not a technique that I recommend for everybody, especially if you're not more skilled with braiding, so I will say having small duckbill clips along where you're braiding really helps out with keeping the extra loose hair out of the way. So you can have a nice tight braid. That was a lot okay, so from here we're just gon na go ahead and continue to braid this hair to the back and we're just gon na go all the way back, I'm not going to braid all the way down this section of hair, just because gon Na put this up later anyway, so really doesn't make any sense to do so now. Of course, everything now is being done in regular speed, so you guys can see here. That'S the braid all the way through and then we're gon na braid this section down here. So I have to get on my knees and all of that, because you know sometimes doing little, people's hair involves you doing a bit of acrobatics, which I will say zan has heard Kendall now so she's working on that which, if you ever work on children's hair And you have a Kindle Fire or something like that trust me. It makes her life so much easier. Just take my word of this one, but hers will die in here. So I'm gon na use this as a tutorial to kind of show you guys as well that you have to sometimes act like you're boxing when it comes down to doing kids here, you got ta, be willing to move with the punches and swing along and all That type of stuff, so if they move you move just like that, and that way I mean we're doing some Jack, be nimble. Jack, be quick type of stuff on this video at the end, when her candle dies, so I'm just gon na go ahead and braid. This section down just like this, and I will put some seashells on there later, if you have a little person that you can't trust with stuff like that, you can omit this braid altogether, all right, so we're just gon na do the same thing on this side And because it's the exact same thing, I sped it up, but I know some people like to see both sides, so I went ahead and did just that and you guys couldn't see. Zan is forever giving compliments, as you guys heard in that last little clip. I absolutely adore her. She is the sweetest child. Ever she really is sometimes to a fault, at any rate, we're just going ahead and continuing this process now notice. Her edges look a little like. Oh dang, that's busted! Don'T worry I'll jot those down later and she will look slate because that's how we roll in our family cuz. This is glam fam, okay, so once we have that done, we have our middle section, which I'm going to take a loose just like so, and then I'm going to place a little bit of gel around the outer borders of this section and just kind of lightly. Detangle this hair, so I'm gon na, be using the extreme wet line professional gel, which I absolutely love. It'S not extremely pricey, so it's extremely affordable and it does an excellent job without flaking no shade to some other gels whose names I won't mention. But let's just say this gel is better than those and it's worst day it's better than you so from here. We'Re just gon na go ahead and pull this product through the hair and then, of course they asked me millions of questions so she's extremely expressive. Okay, all right, you guys, so I'm starting off this section of her Dutch braid and now notice the precision that I do with the Dutch braid. So I always like to start off with a triangle section off in three sections. Now, of course, this is an underhand braid, very similar to cornrowing, but you'll notice, the positioning of my hands, a technique that I use and the time that I take on this braid is significantly different, especially with naturally curly hair. It does require you to use a bit more tension to get it smooth and neat and make it look like you love your child. So I will tell you that if you're trying to do it like a cornrow it'll get the job done, but it's not kind of amazing. So I'm gon na speed this up a little bit because I don't have all day to watch me slowly go through this, but I will tell you guys I can cornrow significantly faster than I can Dutch braid. So for all those who feel like a Dutch braid and a cornrow are the same. Please be advised that they are in fact different. The technique is different. They are both, however underhand braids. I tell you this out of love and care, so please don't get salty, because no one needs high blood pressure or anything like that, and we don't want any blood pressure medication in the mix back to the hair tutorial. So you guys can kind of see here where that gel is showing and it's white on there. You don't have to worry about that. It does actually dry clear. So no major worries there and I am just kind of gradually working through here and you guys can see that jojoba oil is doing its job of keeping that hair detangled. So we don't have to worry about the hair knotting up and every time the Zen moves. Her head because her kendall is now dead um. I noticed I either adjust her head for her or I move along with her. So this is the part where I said we're gon na do some Jack be nimble, Jack, be quick. I will tell you, it helps. Have very flexible shoulders when you're working on children's hair and if you don't have flexible shoulders and you should probably have a bit more of a stern personality. In my case, I have both. Don'T I'm being crazy when I got to, but I'm as gentle as I need to be that'll preach, alright, so I'm gon na, let you guys finish watching this section and I'll show you what I do with the remainder of the hair all-right glam fam. So you guys can see here. This is what it's looking like, and just for all those who tried to shave me notice the difference between a cornrow and the precise partings of a Dutch braid as well as the size. So this is what we're like a net here and then we've got the cornrows on the side there. What we're gon na do is I'm gon na pull all this hair up into a bun and I'm gon na saturate this hair pretty well with gel just cuz. I want a good degree of curl definition. I don't put something on there. It'S gon na look hot mess later and look dry, so I'm gon na put a bit more of the extreme gel there and then around her edges. We'Re going to lay them down with some got to be glued and we will be good to go so hopefully you guys are liking this so far. If so, let me know by telling me in the description box below or clicking the thumbs up button, and we are just going to continue with this quick tutorial. Okay, so you guys can see here. I am just applying that gel and kind of working it through her hair, some with my fingers, I'm not applying it all the way to the end, just majority of the mid shaft section, I'm really not getting much at the scalp area either now around the very Outer edges I'll get down towards the scalp, but I really try my best not to apply product directly to that scalp area, because it typically causes people's scalps to itch later so in case you're wondering that's. Why you're, seeing that so flaring around the outer edge I'll pipe where I need to come up, and I just kind of detangle the outer edges, so it lays nice and smooth. I'M gon na go back with my boar bristle brush and smooth it all out, and then we're going to tie this up with a hair elastic okay from there we're going to go ahead and take another hair. Elastic well actually have to check out this hair first. So I'm a very visual person, so I want to see what type of bun do I want to do. How do I want this to look so I'm gon na try two different things. First and there's I want it to sit up pretty high, so I'm gon na have to roll it forward. So I'm gon na take all of her hair and put it into another elastic band on the ends and then in doing so, I'm able to tuck those in safely away without having to worry about any major issues. Anything like that within that hair and then from there we can kind of get it going. So after that, I'm just gon na roll that hair underneath aren't really over and tuck it, and then I will just put two little pins in for security. Okay from there. I'M using got to be glued as Dan is showing you here and yeah. She wants you to see all that make sure you read all those directions: reading right now, um, so we're using that just around the outer edges it's a little bit thicker than the extreme drought is and it does have a longer lasting hold. I try not to use too much of it, because if you use too much it will flake on you, don't say you weren't warned all right, glam fam. So we are all finished and then what do you think of your hairstyle? I think it's beautiful! That'S lovely! You think we got your forehead a little gravy there. We go hon righty. So of course, with this hairstyle it is still wet as we're going to bed. So we're going to be tying it down with a satin scarf, make sure you're using satin or silk, because if you are not using set and our silk, is that thirsty fabric it's going to try the hair out. So you want to make sure that you're using satin or silk on this hair and now when she gets up in the morning it can be nice and gorgeous and keep those edges laid honey laid. Then do you have anything that you feel the need to add? If you are watching this video tomorrow, that means you can watch it over and over again cycling. Well, you heard from her watch it a million times over him. Take care you guys god bless and stay glamour, bang, okay. So this is the final look with the beads. Let me know what you guys think in the description box or the comment box down below. I love you guys take care, god bless and bye. You

Jenna W: I love all these back to school looks! Keep them coming!

Anapaarii Campbell: I love this look it's so cute! I'm just trying it right now on my hair mannequin and I love the cute beads. I love your hair tutorials and the way you explain things so clearly and also the way your fingers move in different hair positions. So dope!

Gemini mom: She is adorable!! I love these tutorials gives me new ideas to do on my daughters hair. Thanx for sharing

sugrajj: She started looking beautiful and gorgeous just after the first braid. What a wonderful wonderful style!

nvrnakednails1: Really cute! I've never seen a child sit so still while getting their hair done. You must braid very gently. I'm really tender headed as well as heavy handed, so it hurts when I do my own hair. Just like I have to remind myself before closing the car door to ease up, I do the same when I braid lol.

Rhoda: The parts of parting that I have difficulty with are making each one of them equal and the same size. Parting down at the nape is very difficult because the nape is smaller and not as wide as the rest of the hair and sometimes when I'm braiding I'll realize that I no longer have space to finish the last couple of braids(cornrows) because my parting was irregular.

mylaylay18: Look at the little princess! Simply adorable :-) Love the hairstyle GlamFam! Happy Thursday! :-)

Zette Johnson: Gorgeous!!! Just Gorgeous!!! Y'all are such an inspiration! I love this technique and design! Thanks

Basima I.: I truly love your channel. I'm not a braider at all, but I wanted to learn so I can do my little girl's hair. So please keep the children tutorial coming. They're a tremendous help. I'd love to see a parting tutorial. My trouble is parting straight and also keeping it looking clean. My daughter is 1 so I'm a little intimidated to use the metal parting comb. She squirms and twist so much even with her kindle lol.

Aja Warnock: i used to use cowry shells as my sort of "signature" finish, however i realized that it really should be short term because the inner shell can cut the hair on the ends.

Jerrilyn Smalls: Your daughter's are so beautiful. I love them! Thank you for the hair style. My granddaughter has the same type of hair. Her hair is going to be rich and glamorous for now on. Much love always. Be Blessed!

chocolate.cheesecake: Just found your channel and I love it! Such a beautiful family and I love the positivity. No kiddies for me yet but I think this style is so cute that I'm going to try it on myself as a weekend style :) Thanks so much for sharing with us!

Chelle Weatherspoon: I love this info especially about the jojoba for tender headed children. I like that you use natural oil blends. It is so loving. Thanks for sharing. I love the style.

Official our Trio: Im still watching this 4 years later! Your daughter is so gorgeous and you are so talented.bless you both

Johnetta Freeman: I absolutely love your videos!! I have learned a lot. You have a beautiful family and wonderful personality! Looking forward to more videos

Jellyfish: Gorgeous! I'm going to definitely try this style on my little girl

Yo Harvey: Alexzandria is soo adorable!! I love this style!! I'm definitely adding this to my "GF - Try it List" for my daughter's hair!! *smooches ;-) Oh wait! I almost forgot...so I can braid just fine. but when it comes to visualising how to make the parts to achieve the desired end results I just can't. Could you please include in the parting tutorial you mentioned, how you sort of engineer or decide where to make the parts to achieve the final look? I'm not sure if that was clear enough to get the gist across, but hopefully it was. Thanks again:-)

DeeDee Gaines: Loving this style. I have been doing my daughters' hair for 22 years now and my hair braiding skills still need some improvement, and I can never get parts straight or even. But I am looking forward to trying this style out on my 9 year old.

Latonia Bradford: Beautiful child, beautiful hair, very talented Dad.

Latisa Wooten: She is gorgeous!!! Absolutely, love her hair!!!

Dawn Little: She looks so pretty. Will have to try a similar look for my adult head!

What Tocarra: I just did this style on my daughter... It came out awesome!

mizzpoetrics: Yes hunny, this hairstyle slays!!! I've always referred to the Dutch braid as a French braid, is there a difference? Anyway, I'm thinking of doing one of my girl's hair like this, & the other one's cat eye parting will be stitch braided. Thanks for this lovely tutorial, & your daughter is beautiful!

Sevyn: You did a great job i love this hairstyle simple and sweet and your daughter is such a cutie pie
