Diy Braided Hair Headband Or Hairpiece

A natural true to hair color way to make a braided hair headband or hairpiece

The hair I used is: Urban Beauty 100% Kanekalon in a number 2

Bulk braiding hair can be bought from your local "black" or "ebony" beauty supply store, Sally's(online or in-store), or many other online sites. I suggest going to a store in person if it's your first time so you can find out your hair color number(s). Many stores will have a wide variety of natural hair colors and unnatural hair colors. Bring a friend to help you and/or ask a sales associate to help you decide what color you need. Avoid picking out hair that is too shiny looking. If it's 100% kanekalon or a human hair synthetic hair mix then it should look pretty natural. If your hair has multiple colors you can try buying more than one color to mix together for super awesome blending hair matching.

Hey guys, so i always wanted a braided headband, but all the ones that i saw were very plasticky looking or didn't match my hair colors. So i didn't have a braided headband, but then i thought why don't i just make one and i'm gon na show you how i made a braided headband, slash kind of a braided hair piece all right. So here we go all right for this project. You'Re gon na use some bulk braiding hair. I'M gon na use it in my hair color, which is the number two for more information on where to buy and how to pick out a color look in the description box, some scissors, some kind of hair pins. You can use the open ones or the clothes ones doesn't really matter something to make fire like some matches or a lighter or you could use a glue gun and some glue sticks. I suggest a low tip glue gun, some mini rubber band and, lastly, and optionally you're going to need some kind of string, i'm just using some navy blue yarn. There'S it comes like this. You can take this off here and the hair will come looped over like this you're. Just gon na cut that in half you don't have to cut it in half, but it's going to be easier to work with. If it's not as long as this to store the extra hair, i like to tie it in just one big kind of knot like this just to keep it from getting tangled, and then i put it back in the plastic bag. If you want a really big braid, you can use this whole piece of hair or even both pieces, but i'm not going to make a braid that big. So i'm just going to take about this much and store the rest. I'M going to take one end and tie a rubber band to it, looks like you're doing a little ponytail. Now you have this you're going to cut the tip and then use the matches to kind of melt this down. So it all kind of just stays together and doesn't get pulled out, so let it cool off for a second and then i like to just roll it in between my fingers like this. If you're afraid to do this, i suggest just putting some gloves on so now: here's where the optional string comes in you're, going to just tie it around here and then kind of make a loop like this anyway. You know oh loop, that's just about this big! That can fit around something, and this string is just so you can braid it. You can hook it to the bottom of a chair leg or to a doorknob just to have it hooked onto something while you're braiding it. The other option, of course, is just to have someone hold this end. I'M gon na use my green tape to hold this. I don't suggest using a mug, but i'm gon na use it for this video and then you're just going to take it and braid it. Like so kind of working loose the ends as you go, another option is doing a two strand twist at the end, you're going to just put a rubber band over the end just to secure it in place, melt this down, like the other end or you can Use a glue gun so you're gon na put some hot glue on the end, give it a few moments to cool down a little bit and just like using the matches you're gon na roll the ends, you might need to add a little bit more glue to Kind of get those straight pieces and then let it cool and roll again. I'M gon na cut off that little nub right there and now you can take the string off as well as the rubber bands. But if you got rubber bands that are similar to your hair color, you probably just leave those on for extra security. Here are the two tips. I prefer um melting it because it's much more discreet, but just be careful when you melt it if you're using a lighter color, you don't want it to be on there too hot to get burnt to put it on you're, just going to take a bobby pin And stick it in and pin it to your hair. Another option would be to get a small piece of elastic and glue it to each end to make a headband or you can glue a piece of ribbon to each end. So you can tie it into a headband like that or you can get an actual headband and just glue it on so for gluing onto a headband. I would kind of wrap it around to see how much braid i would need take a rubber band and kind of pinch off where i want it to end and loop, the rubber band on right. There, then, you know, do the same thing like you did to the other end and cut right here and then melt or glue the tip and then just hot glue with the headband i like to use a low temp glue gun just because it avoids crazy burning Skin accidents
