Hey y'all, sorry, it's been a while, but I'm out here working and get my life. So today I was on Access Hollywood. Talking about my book. All hair is good hair. I also had to do a little girl named Caius hair and teach the hurt. The importance of embracing her natural texture, she asked for her hair to be like Jojo C WA, so I didn't record doing her hair, but I'm gon na do the same style on my knees without the bow without the Jojo bow, okay and we're gon na start By washing her hair with detox, shampoo and conditioner, so why I use this is because, especially with children and naturals, we end up with a lot of buildup from using a lot of products. So the peppermint and the tea tree will fully take all of that. Buildup off the hair, like your hair, will be squeaky clean when you use the shampoo and conditioner. So you just want to wash the hair twice really thoroughly and rinse it out really good. And then, after that, you are going to do the detox conditioner and sit under the dryer for about 20 minutes on high heat, or you could just put a cap on one and walk around your house if you're home and you don't have a sit under dryer. That'S okay to just leave it in for 20 minutes. This shampoo and conditioner makes your hair feel so good. It'S like it's like a breeze is going through your scalp, like, like your scalp, just ate, of York's peppermint patty. Now that her hair is all clean. It'S time to blow-dry right here I was telling her. I said Bertie turn around and look how beautiful your hair is just so amazing. You have to always speak life into our youngins, because they need to know that all hair is good hair. Next, I'm taking the second shield serum and I'm using I'm using a little more than a dime this time, because her hair doesn't have to flow flow. I use less when the hair has to be a little Airy, but it doesn't matter because she's not getting a press or anything like that now going in with my wide tooth comb, I'm just gon na section, her hair out and I'm gon na. Do it very gently because you know her coils are locking, so you don't want to especially with kids with anybody, but especially with kids. You got ta take your time because they will check all the way out on you and you will not be able to finish with them in good spirits. So you definitely got to take your time with the babies for sure for sure, but, like I said, you have to take your time with everyone and y'all know that I do that in every video. I want to talk about that. So you know the hair is weakest when it's wet, so you don't want to break it. I like to keep my or hairs good hair spray bottle handy. It gives you a mist and not extreme, and it just keeps your hair moisturize. While I do each section you can even put a cap over the hair that you're not blow-drying at the moment just to keep the moisture locked in, but I keep my spray bottle handy. So it helps this dryer right here is number one. It'S my favorite! I will put a link below for you guys to be able to get one because it's very cost-efficient and it's the perfect blow dryer I hate. When I don't have it. I love it. So much see how good a beat'em coils out so good, nice and straight and ready for styling look at her she'd, be so high. Remember the last time I did a video with my niece, I'm not sure if you remember, but she was doing the same exact thing, and this was like literally like maybe three years ago. So now I'm going in and I am going to give her a break down the center of her head. So I am terrible at middle parting, but I pretty much got a hit and I am just clipping her hair off to the side and I am going to put damn in her hair and that is going to help me to get all that other hair. Out of the way - and it's going to have the rest of her hair, slicked and right in please now as much as I wish that I could have showed you me cornrow in this section, you know, kids are just she just had to put her hair back. So it's okay, you guys are missing the braids, but yeah. I don't know. I find that when you're dealing with kids you work for them, so whatever they are doing in the chair, you just have to work around it. Now that I finished the cinder cornrow, I am going to put two smaller cornrows on each side of the center Bri. I love when she flips her glasses backwards to watch TV, okay. So now that that's done, I'm put one more over there and two more on the other side. Now for the remainder of her hair, I'm gon na slick it up using jam and eco styler olive oil gel. That'S a mouthful I'm using that because it's gon na get her hair laid up in that puff and it's gon na. Have it looking good and it's gon na last long cuz, it's gon na give it like light hold. It won't be like crunchy and just hard, but it'll be a nice hold at. I hold her hair for a few days. Next, you just want to take a medium to hard, bristle, brush and slick the hair up as good as possible. Now I know I say this in every ponytail video, but you want to use a ponytail holder with no metal clasps and you definitely don't want to use a rubber band so make sure that you get ponytail holders. I love them by goodie. Tinier has great ones too, but you want to make sure that you are doing everything you can to keep you here in this best shape. Now going back in with the eco styler gel again, I'm just going to make sure that all of our edges are locked into place now using sanics paper. I'M just gon na hold her hair in place. While we worked on her ponytail here, I'm just taking my spray bottle and I'm going to wet her ponytail back down now using that Robie mousse, I'm gon na saturate, her pub now section by section I'm gon na take some more eco styler gel on my fingertips And I'm going to use it to finger coil her hair. What this is gon na do is give her natural curls definition. Next, taking these little hair rings, I found in the hair store most hair stores have them. They have them in all different sizes and shapes, and so I'm just using the little tiny rings and I'm just gon na go in and apply them to the largest braids see how much more definition her puffball has. You can see her curls near home. I love her so much she's, just so smart and beautiful and amazing mature, but not grown. It'S my boob. This is my niece Amaya and yes, I wrote my book. All hers get here about her. Thank you for watching and I'll see you next time.

kelly zavandro: Idk who's the hater that gave this thumbs down, but this little girl is adorable and her hair is gorgeous! Plus, I love how the video is step-by-step AND affirming! Thank you!

Animaky: when i broke up with my boyfriend, i spend all day watching these hair videos from you, because they have this kind and comforting vibe

queenangelfire5: It took me 52 years to discover my natural curl pattern. We were taught that our hair should be straightened with a relaxer or pressing comb. That was just the norm. As a cosmetologist I continued with that belief until what I call the “natural hair movement “ came into being. This appreciation for our natural hair did exist during the early 70’s but it was not the same as what we are experiencing today. There are so many products that truly address the needs of the various natural hair types. These products promote the health and growth of natural hair. Without the knowledge and products for my natural hair I would have never embraced it. Thank you for your book and sharing with us your passion for hair. This book is a valuable tool that will lift us all up especially my beautiful young Queens! Thank you for helping us polish our crowns and wear them with pride!

ShyGirl36: This was truly deeper than hair. My daughter has this texture hair and when I first saw it I was so disappointed as bad as that sounds. I used to say "God she has the nappiest hair!" I even relaxed it once . Then one day I said "Don't do that to her, that will destroy her". I started watching YouTube videos of women with her hair texture to learn how to better care for it and style it. Started complimenting the thickness and saying how pretty her hair is. I keep it mostly crocheted or in puffs or twists and definitely keep it moisturized and trimmed and it's growing! When I think back about how I treated her hair at first I'm so ashamed. I'm glad I changed before too much damage was done.

Baking Cutie: I love how gentle you are with her/ her hair. She’s a cutie!! The style is adorable and age appropriate!

Jade: Your family has strong genes, your niece is such a cutie, she has a beautiful smile. I love how caring you are with hair, let her know her puff is all of that

D R-K: This is the content we need during these trying times. Uplifting and empowering. Always a good time for positivity.

ThakiddChris: I remember i got a relaxer cause I told my mom I wanted “white girl” hair when I was in the 4th grade .. I regretted it so much. Appreciate your textureee

Leilani’s Love: I love this... I’m showing my niece right now because she doesn’t wanna wear her own hair out. She refuses to wear her hair without weave! Thanks for the inspiration...aaaaannnbdddd I just read your download about YouTube and started my channel! Thank you

Alex Miller: Coming from a white girl with very fine, flat hair... I lovvvvvvvveeeeeeee her hair! It’s beautiful! People with curly hair take such good care of their hair too it’s just beautiful! xx

GenuineNaturalDiva: Just wanted to let you know my baby and I enjoyed your book. I bought your book because she was teased by a little girl at her school. She wore her fro and the little girl called her hair FLUFFY. I told her that fluffy is a GREAT THING. Your book help drive home ny points. Now my five year old (her) is walking around saying IF THAT AINT GOOD HAIR I DONT KNOW WHAT IS.. Thank you love..

Laittea Biscuit: I love how she's so gentle! Not once did the girl show signs of being bothered or in pain

Equality4All: Your commentary is hilarious! “It’ll feel like your scalp had a York Peppermint Patty.” I have shampoo like that and never thought of that analogy. Now I’ll always think of York’s. I love that candy btw.

Ladysongbird: I love how gentle you are with her hair. So many people treat our hair rough because its coiled. They don't understand that our hair is delicate. Good video!

KawaiiCallie: I feel like a hug from this woman would make everything better

N G: Went to Deeper Than Hair for the first time!! Best blowout I’ve had in my life and curl now I’m comfortable wearing my natural hair how I envisioned all along in my head !!!! Thanks Veen

Tahni R.: Imagine disliking this video just because she's prettier than you. So sad.

Alex Torres: Omg her hair is so THICK. It's beautiful I need to show this video to a few parents of biracial children. Because a couple of my student's parents literally just send their kids to school with MATTED hair! It always makes me so sad because after I take the time out to style their hair, I had a little girl tell me "I wish you were my mom. You take care of me and make me feel pretty." I nearly cried.

Siley Rams: My 3 year old son watches these videos with me (attached to my hip y'all) and, Jesus as our witness, he says "that girl is so cute!!" ✨

Janet N.: Your niece is adorable! When she kept moving her head as you were brushing her hair, it reminded me of something my mom's friend/hairdresser used to tell me when she'd cut my hair, and I'd do the same thing: "Be the boss of your own chin." :)

m pp: I like what you said about working around the kid when doing their hair. Stylist be so quick to say they don’t do kids hair

justshookie: She is beyond gorgeous! I have curly hair and it's been an interesting journey with it. I get told all the time I look amazing when I straighten it. It's taken me over twenty years to embrace the curl. I ain't changing that for anybody now. I love them and can't imagine being without the curl.

Marissa Williams: I love how your niece's comfort wasn't compromised. You're doing great & I have been watching & rewatching all of your videos

Masha Chan: This child is adorable she’s so cute and patient. I remember when I was her age I gave my aunt a hard time when it’s wash day, it took a long time especially since my hair was so thick and long, even if she took me to the hairdresser I remember throwing a tantrum and running out of the place. Sorry aunt and the people who did my hair

Crazy cat: “All hair is good hair” That’s something every little girl needs to hear x

S Mcdade: You are an amazing Aunt! You are sowing seeds of positivity & self love for a generation of melenated females! My own Aunts were my other mamas. lol Blessing to you & your little niece! Also, you were rocking that dress on the show!!!

JustC: It's beautiful that you encourage your niece to love her hair! I do the same with my daughters. And it is so sweet that you based your book off of her. All hair, and if I can add "healthy hair" is good hair. Tfs!

bingslajoie: Your little niece looks like such a sweetie! Love seeing her and I love how you are spending quality time together.

CeAira Daniels: Omg I love how that puff turned out!! Now I’m going to pre-fect it on my daughters hair..

Lovely Blueeyedgirl: I love love love how understanding and appreciative you are for every hair type!! Hair goddess ✨

Danielle Allard: U are amazing u deserve everything coming your way I can feel the love and I'm not even getting my hair done I love the quotes at the beginning of each video u are truly a blessing keep pushing you are doing a great job

Monique Lynch: I'm so proud of you! You're finally getting the recognition you deserve as a hairstylist. Your ability to teach young black girls to love their hair and the beautiful skin that they're in. Its truly heartwarming. Much love from Jamaica❤

Emeth: I love how she watches every move you made. She reminded me how I was watching my mom do my 5 sister's hair, which is how I learned to do hair. I started at age 12, and once my mom saw I could do hair that became my job as the family hairdresser. I never knew it would turn out to be my career when I was that age. You might have another hairstylist in the family.

Shanette Quao: This is such a cute and efficient hair style! Your niece is adorable btw. Great work!

Girl: She's so pretty and her skin is absolutely amazing. Loved this.

Ronda Smith: Congrats on the show and the book once again!! So proud of YOU and her hair turned out so pretty

GlammaOf3: Beautifully done on a beautiful little girl! I love how you've described her and can totally relate to it.. from my own daughter and now my grands! Lol I love the shock factor coming from some people and that's all I will say about that!

Olorato Tuahuku: You know hair is attached to skin and your channel is "deeper than hair" sooo please tell your niece to drop her skin care routine coz her skin is pretty.

Jn p: This was nice to see. Love that you're embracing her hair. My mother wants to relax my sister's hair and says, itll be perfect then. I feel so bad because my sis hears her and then she thinks she had bad hair. Ive tried to tell my mother about hair positivity and speaking about it in a way where my sis will embrace and appreciate her hair...but she won't.

Anatolia: Can we just talk about all of the amazing forms our hair can be in all in 1 styling session?! Kinky, straight, coily, curly... amazing. I love us.

kooi: As someone that was never really fond of my type of hair, the fact that you tell your niece all the time that her hair is beautiful is amazing. I was only really complimented on my hairstyles with weave, so I never really loved my hair. I’m trying to learn how to love it and enjoy the type I have to avoid getting weave all the time❤️

Emma Forsythe: She's so patient and such a beautiful little girl! Lucky to have an aunt like you doing her hair!!

Petit Luna: When her curls started to get defined I was like: ! My hair is wavy so I’ve always struggled in understanding my hair’s texture, since everyone would just say to me that my hair was a weird type of straight hair... now I discovered I’m 2A and have been searching for other hair types! A lot of the women in my family have 4c hair and when I see videos like this I send it to them bc it encourages them to wear their beautiful and natural curls! ❤️

cha__ep k: Her skin is the definition of flawless

Silvia Menéndez: I’ve now watched a few of your videos and although I don’t have 4 type hair I find the technics and the styles quite fascinating so I had to subscribe! Thanks for the all the uploads (btw my hair is 3B)

Zoe: Wow your niece has a really beautiful curl pattern

Marie D: She's so cute! I love that you encourage her to love her natural hair. Beautiful

Rubi B: I love this ❤️ My niece absolutely hates getting her hair done ‍♀️ She’s been getting her hair done since she was a baby. Yet she cries every time you even remove her scrunchie

PsychoKat90: Oh my gosh she is just so adorable. And lucky to have an amazing auntie like you! I love how those gold rings take the whole style to the next level.

Dana Foster: I saw who the client was and was shocked! Baby girl is getting so big... her hair turned out lovely

PaintsandGlitter: Wow! She is so gorgeous! I wish your book was around when I was a little girl. Having light skin, and curly hair, in my culture, the tighter the coil, the more you are harassed to straighten your hair. It's awesome to see someone encouraged to be as they are. I only wish I knew how to do those gorgeous cornrows! I would have loved them when I was little!

l2ph360: Just GORGEOUS! Thank you for teaching and going step by step

Brionna Joose: I love that you wrote a book about hair, everyone should embrace their beauty. Also I love how confident she looks I could just tell that baby felt like a princess.

Monifa 360: She is so cute!! She just keeps looking at the camera. I am so going to recreate this look, I absolutely love this look

Jewel Tones: Your niece is so adorable! She favors you especially when she smiles

alahna: I can just lay in bed and binge watch all of these amazing videos!! I love how inspiring you are and how you encourage people to love their hair❤️❤️

Sego: She is SO cute and I love how you did her edges!

Nikki S: I'd pay good money for beautiful skin like hers! I know she's a child but I'm still impressed.

Heather Saltas: Her confidence in her face when you’re done! ❤️

✨Suri✨: Such a beautiful young lady ❤️ I don’t know why your channel is not over the million subscribers yet. You are such an inspiration to all women, you show us to embrace our natural beauty and I admire you for that. ❤️

Vanessa Nobrega: Por mais que eu ache os penteados simplesmente incríveis e maravilhosos, também fico triste uma criança passar por todos esses procedimentos Mas ela deve gostar e eu possa está redondamente enganada!

Diane E: What a beautiful little girl! You did a great job styling her hair!

jacy ewing: She is so beautiful! And its amazing that you give so much positive vibes. It's so important that children learn to love themselves and embrace their natural uniqueness

Paulette: Congratulations on your success. I and my friends look so much forward to your videos and we wish there were more of them. Blessings on you and your family.

Tami Potter: You do such beautiful work. I spend all my free time watching, it’s so mesmerizing seeing the transformations.

April Denice: Congratulations on ALL your success!!! And I love her hair!

Sandian BC: This is so beautiful. I will watch this with my niece. She saw me combing my hair in December when she visited and she couldn't believe how long it had grown ( mind you I am like medium length) . She had this notion that our hair doesn't grow. And she told me she wants white people's hair. That's really long. I had to shut that mind down. Like noooo baby you are beautiful, your hair is beautiful. It's what also makes us unique. I will show her this. So she can see another beautiful little girl who has beautiful hair and is not a different race.

LototheFlo: Your niece is so beautiful! Such an adorable child. I hope one day she watches this video of her and reads all the comments affirming her!

Grace and Marvellous wonders: Congratulations on your book and very nice hairdo ‍♀️! You deserve all the goodness coming your way✌

Jenaesia Jones: Ugh I love this channel ❤️ It made me see the beauty in my natural curly hair. I’ve always wore my hair straight because being that I Was surrounded by people who didn’t look like me in the transition year of 6th grade. I felt as though I had to have straight hair to fit in. I’ve learned that My hair is beautiful and that I don’t have to have straight hair to fit in, Thank you for helping me seeing deeper than hair.

Mmmmiekskuh: I used to be in awe with my primary school friend who had similar hair to your niece’s. I always wanted to pick her up early to walk to school so I could watch her mother do her hair. I’ll always remember the smell of her gel and the colour of her brush (bright pink). We lived in a rather white part of the Netherlands and she was the only girl in our class with that kind of hair but I remember her being proud of it and us white girls thinking it was absolutely gorgeous. It wasn’t until I was much older when I heard awful stories about relaxing hair and people hating it. I can imagine it takes a lot of tlc but I must say that I love that about your video’s. I love any kind of hair (don’t know why) and I love how much effort and love you put into every single hairdo. Thanks for sharing it!

Jamin McGhee: You and your niece are gorgeous!! Good job on your book btw ✌️

laurie #: She is BEAUTIFUL! Thank you for telling her so

Donna Okoniewski: OMG she is so adorable! I've been enjoying your videos for a little while now and have learned a little bit about natural hair. I had no idea of all the steps involved, but I do know that when you are done, each and every one of your customers are absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing and educating. Hugs. xo

Tylynn Flood: Can I just say I love her videos and she has a true magical touch when doing hair. I watch all of these videos and I see these gorgeous girls were the amazing her. Plus the reactions at the end are amazing. I really love your videos.

Ari Monts: the CARE that you put into each hairstyle!! i love watching you work!

Adrianna Mazzoli: this beauty is gonna grow up to love her natural hair i already know it❤️
