About me:

Hi, my name is Ariella. I got my last relaxer the summer of 2009. I began watching YouTube videos in search of someone with a similar curl pattern and texture. At that time, the natural hair community on YouTube was much smaller. I did't recognize anyone with hair quite like mine. And so I began to document my journey through vlogging to keep track of my progress and hopefully help anyone else out who might have felt as lost as I did. Along the way my channel has evolved to include bits of other avenues like skin care and fitness. I deal with acne and am a personal trainer, so any questions there, feel free to ask =] I hope my channel helps others to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin.

Hey welcome back to my channel guys it's gon na, be we creating this Janet Jackson, hairstyle, I absolutely loved. She had posted it on her Instagram and it was for something she did with Missy Elliott. She presented some old word. So the first thing we're gon na do is start with that braid in the back. I closed up here. I'Ve zoomed in to kind of show you, but this is not a tutorial on how to do this. Braid. If you want that tutorial. Let me know in the comments and I'll do that separately. This is really just gon na fly through it just showing you what I did not exactly how I did it - and this is literally just the cornrow, going right up the middle of the back of my head now before this. I'Ve only knew how to braid or a cornrow my hair. I did it like this once years ago. I post that picture. That'S from my Instagram put it like right here and I'll show you, but other than that I could never porn roll. My hair, you know going from the front of my head to the back, but now I can so if you really want to know how I did this, I can do a video, it's not the neatest thing in the world, but I have the technique down. So you just let me know so I clicked the braid up in the back, because I want to smooth out my hair first before I tie it up and I just used cansu curling cream. You can use any moisturizer, that's just where I put some eco styler gel comic drool brush it down, tie it up really simple! Oh and I forgot to mention that my hair was previously in like an old twist out, so my hair was already stretched out really well before doing any of this. So, depending on how long your hair is, you might be able to just use your own hair to do this pun, I think my hair is too short, so I added hair, but I started by doing what came out as a topknot button, so I took one Small section and I twisted it - and I had twisted that twist around my hair and bobby pendant, and I kept doing that with little sections until all my hair was pinned up into a bun and you'll, see that and it actually is really cute. It'S just not what this style was. I was trying to stay true to the Janet Jackson. You know Instagram picture but uh feel free to twist this up anywhere you want. Obviously then, I just grabbed a regular braiding hair that has the hombre that's closest to what I can match to my natural color and all the info on that will be in the description box. So I kept it on the rubberband. I actually took half of what was on the rubber band off to thin it out a little bit because Janet's bun is not humongous and you know like obnoxious or anything's very realistic-looking. So I started by twisting the weave up until you get to the part where the color is, and this was the hardest part I had. I had to try to figure out how to make it look like my hair was just twisted really regular to describe it. But if you look at Janet's picture, you'll see like it just looked like her hair, really casually twisted up, not all this extra nice that I had to do, because I have those this week that I'm working with so once I wrapped it around. I wrapped it around twice like backwards and then forward, and then I took the remaining hair and twisted that around each other twisted that around the bun. This is really hard to explain with words, but if you watch you can see exactly what I'm doing so, then you can choose to instead of twisting the hair at the end like I did, you can braid it. Cuz Jana actually has a braid around her hair, but with the weave that was not working for me. So I just left this a twist and then I went back and tucked in any hair that was sticking out so that it looks good and that's it for the bun. The only thing I'm not completely satisfied with is the position of the bun I'd rather be higher, but Jana's bun isn't sitting in the middle of her head. So in keeping true to the picture you know, it'll do and the finish it all off. I think the most interesting thing about this hairstyle are the accessories that her stylist used in her braid. It looks like they put eyebrow rings, like that's exactly what it looks like to me, which is really dope cuz. Look how cool that looks, but rather than going out and getting a bunch of eyebrow rings, I just used hair jewelry that I had, but you can get as creative as you want. You know. That'S that would be interesting to see what people come up with that. That'S the completed, look. You know. I really hope that you enjoyed this. If you could give me a thumbs up for learning how to do that, cornrow yeah it'd be amazing. It'S that was really proud of myself with that. Let me know what your ladies want to see in the future. Do you like these kind of tutorials? Would you rather simpler hair styles? Do you want the weave? Do you want it all natural hair? Let me know I'll see what I come up with. I love y'all I'll, see you soon plate
