Side Swept French Fish Braid Hairstyle

We've had many requests for a how to video on this sideways french fishtail braid ever since we posted a photo on our "hairstyle ideas for girls" video. This is one of our favorite braids and such a unique hair style. Enjoy!

All right today we're going to do the side swept fishtail braid we've had a ton of requests for this ever since we put it on another video and it's actually pretty easy to do. I'Ve just started by making a part on the side of our head and then you're going to split that section in half and cross those two pieces. And then all there is to it you're just going to alternate grabbing sections from the top and from the bottom and crossing them over. So I grab one from the top. I'M just going to put it down into the bottom strand. Then you can grab one from the bottom and the smaller sections you take with this, the better it's going to look so I've grabbed one from the bottom and now I'm putting it up with the one on the top. So these strands never change position. It'S just the pieces that you're bringing in you cross them over and you're, always only working with two sections, I'm working with her hair. While it's wet. I found that with this braid it goes a lot smoother if you're working with wet hair. If you want more of a toss, old or messy look, dry hair would probably work better, and I've also found that, while it's wet, it doesn't look quite as good. It looks a little bumpy, but once it dries, everything seems to smooth out, and it looks really good. This braid does take a while, especially if you're taking smaller sections like I am, but I think the end result is worth it. So, as you can see, it's really not that complicated. It'S just kind of okay, I'm just bringing in the last few pieces when you get to the point where there's no more hair to bring in. I usually just do a few strands of a regular fishtail braid and that kind of just helps to hold everything together. Then, at this point you could either make a bun or you could curl the hair in the ponytail. You can do whatever you would like with it. I'M just going to tie this off with an elastic. Then I have this flower. We got it from all things ribbon calm. You could either do something like that or if you wanted to add a headband. This is also from all things ribbon. Comm get super cute, but that's another option with the style. There'S lots of things you could do with it, and it is one of our favorite braids. You
