Hey it's Bethany tux, hair design and today I'm going to show you how to do the pullthru, Mohawk braid, so Kareem. My models got quite fine, hair, very long, but quite fine, but this style works brilliant on really thick hair and shorter hair. So, to start the braid and just pop your head back a tiny bit coin, you want to just take the very front section of hair, and then you want to take a little elastic and you want to tie that top section for the next section of hair. I want you to think about it's a mohawk, so don't take it across you're trying to take it up. Take a section of hair, came it through and you're taking it up and then just do the same on the other side. So just take a section of hair and take it up so when you've got your second section, just take another elastic and tie the hair. So now you've got two sections of hair, so you're going to divide the top sections and then you're going to lift the bottom section and pin it out of the way. Now let this hair hang down here and now you're going to take another section from each side, so you've taken two more sections of hair from either side and you've added in this top layer of hair and you're, going to combine all those together and do another Elastic so now you take your grip out and you repeat the same process: now it's not a faster braid than a normal Dutch braid or French braid, but the effect afterwards looks really really good too. It is worth giving it again so split the top one in two again, the bottom one comes up again: fasten that out your way. Let these two strands hang down and take two more sections now at this point, I don't want you to take the hair off again, because if you keep doing that all the way down the head, it's going to look really strange at the end. So at this point I want you to start to try and take the hair more horizontally, so maybe from about here and go across so the guys take another elastic and tie that one you you so when you get to the base of the neck you're left With two ponytails, it's a little bit different now because you're not adding in hair, so all you're going to do is get the top. Ponytail adds in an elastic pull it down. Just a little bit get two fingers through and then just pull through the bottom ponytail and then just repeat this process all the way. So when you get to the bottom, you're left with two pieces like that. So to finish, the braid off just divide that into two and then I'll just take it around the back and then I just do one last elastic like that. So you could just leave the braid flat like that, but as it's a mohawk brave, this is what I do. I just take the very edges if the hair and just pull upwards a little bit now you pull in from the elastic you're not pulling from the roots. So you shouldn't hear it at all to do this and then take the first section and just do the same. Just talk on the ends like that, so you're standing the hair up so you're getting that Mohawk effect. So that's the Mohawk great finished! If you liked this video, please take a look at my youtube channel, sweet arts, hair design and i'm also on instagram at sweet arts hair design. Thank you. Bye.

Alison Bur: I tried this on my 5 year old...she loved it & we got so many compliments when we went out! We used small coloured hair bobbles instead of elastics as she has thick wiry hair, they looked really pretty with the colours popping through. Thanks for the clear demo...we have subscribed!!!
