For your basic double-ended install, you will need clips rubber bands, a comb, probably some water, to help you control your hair and, of course, your double ended, dreads to start spritz, your hair with water and section off a part that is big enough for two dreads to Come out of it at the base because remember with doubles you're going to have two parts to every one section: take your hair divide it into two now this part is really important, because your top dread is going to be coming out right at that part. So make sure that the angle is how you would want it to be going your dread and your two sections become the three parts of your basic three-way braid you're, going to clip your dread into place. Make sure that the bend of your double ended. Dread sits right at the top of your section, then take your three parts and do a basic three-way braid down the length of one side of your dread. Once you get to the ends of the natural hair, rubberband, the ends to the dreadlock walk your rubber bands down the ends of your natural hair. That will help keep the flyaways tight to your dread. If you run out of rubber band, but you still have extra poop go ahead and use another rubber band, because that will look better than extra flyaways and pouf at the end of your natural hair. So once you do that, that is how you install your first basic. Double ended, dread go ahead and continue for the rest of the head and you'll. Have a nice double ended, read install

Denise Camarillo: Omg I love this!! Its easy and doesnt ruin hair! Ive always wanted dreads but I didnt want anything that would damage my hair or be too hard to take out and theyre the kind of dreads I like..thank you so much for this!

Doctored Locks: Yeah, check out the DED blanket stitch installation. It shortens long hair pretty well. Let me know if that looks like it will work. :)

Doctored Locks: That really depends on your mad skills. I used to do this on my own and it’s not bad if you are used to braiding your own hair. :)

AKIYIAKELLY: Thanks again. Great video. Quick and too the point. :)

Doctored Locks: The dreads were custom made out of kanekalon fiber - you could make them any length you want. :)

Doctored Locks: The braid on longer hair will just travel down the length of the dread. If your natural hair is too long, check out the blanket stitch tutorial. That will help take up the extra hair. :)

tera z: so what do you do when your hair starts to grow? do you just have to take them out?

Brigitta Pilis: do you have any advice on installing DE to long hair? my hair is ~30 cm, and the dread is 100 cm DE, so it will be 50 cms one way. is there any way to make my own hair shorter without cutting it?

Doctored Locks: Yeah, you can add a ton of hair. :) Just be careful with the weight and tension to not overdo it.

Doctored Locks: Mine are human hair extensions put in with the O-ring and thread method. :) We have videos on all of that on our channel. :)

Maria Yuhas: wow this looks super easy originally I thought it was going to be super hard but I do have a question the double ended dreads that I bought (they are the red ones) are they already locked? or do I need to do something more to keep them in place, I'm asking this because I have undid one but it pops back into place in my opinion it's a little loose so my question is do I have to do anything to the dreads?

Alenka Babič: what can you do if your hair is short and extensions too long? after your natural hair grows you have to put extensions out and back in or is any other option? thank you for the answer :)

abadcrowprims: Are your dreads real or synthetic? Yours are wonderful

Doctored Locks: Check out the tutorial for blanket stitch installations - it's the best for longer hair.

Doctored Locks: I generally use a few more - 50 would mean the dreads would be on the thicker side. :)

Doctored Locks: 70 to 90 depending on thickness.

Doctored Locks: Haha... totally. And you get to look amazing when you are done - totally worth it!

Doctored Locks: Glad to help!

Doctored Locks: Totally. I’ll get that queued for production. :)

Blondie Belzebub: Thank you beautiful girl!

boom shankar: if u leave the dread braided in will they eventually dread together permanently ?

ANAMOON: Thank you ^-^

ANAMOON: I really want to try this, but I still have many doubts. What's the difference between double ended and single ended? I mean what the visual difference? Which works better for afro hair?

Janelle Day: Where can I buy synthetic dreadlocks? My hair is your color as in this video. Where can I buy dreadlocks like yours?

Doctored Locks: Yeah, that would have been good idea. Basically, all I meant was don't keep your rubberband in one spot - spread it out a bit. So instead of it looking like a dot on the hair - which would hold about 1/8th of an inch in one spot, you spread it out so it will hold over an inch. Hopefully that helps some. :)

Doctored Locks: You are very welcome!

Doctored Locks: We have premade dreads or we also sell the supplies for you to make your own. :)

RedTearsBlackWings21: It would have been good to see it zoomed in when you 'walk' the band down the natural hair I'm not really sure what you mean by that.

J: I have really long hair, and I've only seen people with short hair do it... is installing dreads for people with short hair, or can people with long hair , like me, can get dreads too. I really want dreads! (Not permanently)

diana mango: how many double ended dreads would a person need to do a whole head?

Doctored Locks: Well the nice thing about this, is that you can try it and you aren't committed. If you hate it, you can take them right out. Visually, doubles have a larger base - they install much more quickly and they are easier to hide the braid as you have one side that remains unbraided. Singles have a smaller base, tend to lay flatter and will not conceal your attachment braid.

liz: hi did you know where i can buy some good dread online? cause i'm italian :)

King Jay: how long is this hair? ;)

moonlight0murder: Just a question do you have natural or synthetic dreads?.

Tay Sibert: what if i have natruly curly hair? does that change anything?

Jay Walker: Does this help grow your hair??? Please respond

Droomkous: what do you do if you have long hair?

Hailey C: @jayclarke01 It is a bitch to do the back of the head on your own.I find it also takes twice as long to do it myself, but I live (literally) in the middle of nowhere and don't have the luxury of someone doing it for me. Haha...good way to waste a Sunday ^_^

Doctored Locks: Both will look much better if your natural color is represented in the extensions. The natural hair texture afro, caucasian or otherwise doesn't make a difference as it will all be braided at the site of attachment.

DrunkenSailorxox: how can you do thjis on veryy long hair?

Doctored Locks: We actually have new colors available in our premade synthetic double ended dreadlocks! You can find them in a ton of fun color mixes on our website, doctoredlocks(dot)com .

Doctored Locks: Check out the braiding videos in our channel. Those will be better for what you are looking for. :)

Krista Bowman: LOL what the heck do you do with the long dread that was hanging?

Doctored Locks: You can buy our premade dreadlocks or supplies to make your own at doctoredlocks(dot)com ! :)

Girly girl Fashion boutique: some ppl make some and sell them

Sára Molnár: how did i end up here from michael jackson video?

Jay Clarke Art: this looks like a b***h to do on youself especially at the back but if it was someone doing the braiding on someone else if would be a lot easier >_<

Matilde: But like can you do it with short hair?

Rika Deangelis: Hi i just bought the double ended from your store a 3 pack.. i wasnt aware you had the single loops too would i be able to exchange if they are unused

Hippi Prince: sooo this is so you can have more thicker hair if you have like not so much hair...you know what i mean? cuz i have thing hair..either way more or lil
