I Did The Criss Cross Rubber Band Braids On Myself | Eva Williams

Hey you guys welcome back to my channel, as you guys can tell by today's title and all that stuff, i'm gon na be trying these cute crisscross braids. Now i ran across this tick tock, i'm gon na put it up on the screen. She had some crisscross braids, they was like crisscrossing the front and it was braids going down, but she had a heart on the side. Now me, i cannot braid that good. I can braid, but i can't break scalp wash like i can't braid to the scalp. So when i see y'all do like the we're, not y'all, but when i've seen people start doing the criss cross and like crisscrossing them that's way easier because it's not braiding and in the back it's just like box, braids style. You know what i'm saying so this is my first attempt on this. So hopefully it looks good now um, i'm gon na. Take my glasses off. I think they're glaring on the camera, don't know, but um me personally. I want to be a little different, so i'm going to be using rubber bands with color. These bands are pink, as you guys can see. If you're wondering what is in the rubber bands, it is hair growth, oil. Now this is optional. I will say this: i've realized when it comes to color bands and i've used these before they break easily. These are not um. These are not in rubber bands for hair. These are bands for, like i'm gon na, show you all the brand and then i'm gon na use them on my hair and if they pop, then don't buy this. I bought this a long time ago, though this is got a lot of amazon. It just looks like this, and it comes with a whole bunch of color rubber bands in there. So many colors it's for bracelets, though, because like if you look on the back they're making bracelets with these hold on it's going to focus, it's not going to focus, but these are for like bracelets and all that stuff. But i was on tick tock and i heard if you soaked rubber bands in oil that they would not break so we're going to do this style. We'Re going to use this method because i want colorful bases in my hair. I don't want the black ones, because i was not going to stand out. Do y'all hear the grass cut into oh. It got dark outside it's like it's not dark outside, but it's like it's early. Actually, it's only 11 08, but it must be for the rain. Today, but that's none of my business. So what i'm going to go ahead and do is go ahead and prep my hair, i'm going to go off camera blow dry, it get a section off and all that stuff like half of half down style, because the rest is going to be braided. I'M going to try to not let's braid, i'm going to try i'm doing nothing good, but i'm going to try so yeah i'm going to go off and blow dry this out and get it ready. I finally got my hair party um. I used a mirror right here. You might want to have some help if you're not like a professional professional you're going to either need your mirror you're going to have some help, because my part is not giving away supposed to get it's not that straight. Y'All see it's not that straight, but it's not that crooked either, but um i've been sitting here for a long time trying to part my hair and i realized with parting. It takes longer the hair's gon na take longer and i'm actually not even mad, because i only have like i only have two packs of this type of hair that i'm using this expression i'll trade here in the color too. So i'm just going to stick these back over here, i'm going to cut them in half, but i don't want them a little long. I think i might be able to get away with it, because this is not a lot of hair back here. It'S not! I don't want my boxes really small either. I want to be like medium sized, but not like jumbo so yeah, but um now that we have it parted in half and all that stuff, i'm just going to go ahead and part. This top part up here in sections, because this is, i will say this. This is not a tutorial, because this is my first time trying this, but one thing i will say is that i definitely know how to um. Do the the ribbon part that parts easy? I'M not good at knotless braiding. I will try, but that's that i will definitely try to do the knotless braids, but i'm not a professional. So if i'm not mistaken, i think they have like four rows but me personally, i don't want it to be like too much like there's like i want to switch it up a little bit, but i'm just fixing to go through and just part this. So i think i might voice over some of this stuff. I'M probably gon na do a voiceover because it'll make more sense. So i'm just finishing to just do my hair, so yeah i'm going to voice over the rest of this video. So you guys can understand a little better because i know like when i'm talking in videos - sometimes i talk way too fast, but um i'm going to go in with my style factor and one thing, even though i said this was this tutorial. I guess it can be a tutorial. You can follow these steps if you want to, but i will say this hairstyle. It depends on your head shape because i've seen a lot of people or i'mma say i mean it kind of does, because i've seen a lot of people do the hairstyle and they have way smaller boxes because their head is bigger. My head really isn't big. I have a small head, as you guys can see like you, don't take as much hair to do my head or anything like that. So i did four. You can do what you want. I'Ve seen people with like. I don't know how many they had at the front. I know they had a lot, i'm thinking they had about like i don't even know how many they had, but i know i'm going to be doing four because i don't want to stay here all day. Now, a tip that i use is um. Do the sides first, like part the size out first, because you do not want your sides to be way too small or way too big or not like that, so you want them to be. Even so, you want to part them out first, as you guys see what i'm doing and i'm just going in with the style factor and just putting that on my scalp to make the parting a little bit easier and make sure none of my flyaways get stuck In any of the hair, that's a tip you could use. If you wanted to, you know, do this hairstyle and i'm just braiding the hair and getting it separated. One thing i will say about this: hairstyle parts play a big like they play a big role in this hairstyle. I also zoomed it in a little closer, so you guys could see a little better because i was like. Are you even gon na be able to see this? You know now we're getting on into like the middle part, and all that stuff, like i said, parting, plays a big role in this, because all you see is parts if you're not good at partying have somebody else part it for you. I have so much dandruff in my hair, y'all y'all seen that but yeah have someone else, part it for you and you can just um go on and rub it. You know, and then i was i didn't, have my glasses on so parting. Doing anything without glasses is kind of hard. For me me personally so yeah but they're in results like the hairstyle. The end result was really good. Y'All see i had to use my little mirror to part in the back, so i can make sure it was straight because parting plays a big role once again. So once i have it, you know party how i like it, i'm going to braid it off to the side like get them separated. What i'm i don't know if you wanted to. You could start in the back and then work your way to the top. Like i started to think that i should have did the back first and then like the box braids, but then again it really doesn't matter to me. It all got done so i wasn't really tripping or nothing like that. So i'm going to start on this side and i'm just going to unravel the hair detangling and getting ready to you know be um. What'S the word, i'm looking for getting it ready to be rubber band and all that also another tip, i want to say, don't put the ribbons on too tight, because if you do it's going to hurt, so my rubber bands were really loose and the hairstyle did Not hurt at all the hairstyle was very like smead sleek looking, but it wasn't tight, so yeah, i'm part this in half. You want to part this section in half, move the edges out the way that you want to keep out um and all of that now i will say i did use the um pink rubber bands, but let y'all know in advance them things did not work like Right now i forgot to speed this part up y'all, but i guess y'all can see like up close and all that and then normal speed, because it's going to speed back up. That'S my fault with the editing, but you know at least i got to see something in real time: speed but um. The pink rubber bands do not work good, like they didn't work out, so i had to go back in and use the black ones. Even i didn't want to because the pink was looking so so cute y'all, like the pink was so cute, see it popped the first time - and i was just like you know what - let's just that's just the first one: let's try it again and as i was Trying it again it held on for like three seconds and then it popped. So you see the pink looks so cute. Imagine my hair with just pink ribbons all throughout the hair. I'M gon na have to find somewhere bins that are pink, that don't pop because it was so so cute like. Oh my god, i really wanted the pink ribbons, but the black ones make more sense. It goes with everything, so i only left the hairstyle. In that day, though, i took the hairstyle out the same day, but, as you guys can see, i'm going in with the black rubber bands and all of that, because the pink ones were not working for me. They were not working at all, i don't know smells gon na be like dang. She took the hairstyle out the same day. Now i just have a phobia with my hair. Like i don't know it's just like. I can't leave my hair in styles for two, not that just sounds crazy, but, like i can't leave my hair styled in like parted spaces. I don't know how to explain it. It'S just it's just me. It'S just me like i don't get box braids like that. I don't braid, i don't get braided braids in my hair and if i do it's for under my wig and those wouldn't be there that long so yeah, that's just my choice like i don't like leaving hairstyles in for some it, i'm not gon na say. For so long, but it's the certain hairstyles like i don't like stuff, that's a little too tight, i'm not gon na say it was loose loose loose, but it did have some tightness to it a little bit and i'm uh. I cannot sleep good. If i can't. I would take a whole wig off the same day if it's not comfortable in my head, and i cannot sleep okay, but yeah. The hairstyle was cute for that day. I might do it again might not, but i think i want i'm thinking about trying some fox locks y'all, like i really think about that. I know you're probably like this girl is just talking and talking, okay back to the hairstyle, because i don't want it off topic. So um, you guys see me all you want to do is cross them. This is the easy part you just crossed them. I went in and loosened it up as you guys could see, so you see how i just cross it. This is the easy part. This is this, this part of the hairstyle. Well, i'm not gon na say it's easy part, because the parting is kind of like uh and then oh, my god, the parting in the back y'all. When i was doing the back of my hair. That part was kind of hard because i don't have nobody there and toto is a dog, and he cannot tell me what the back of my hand looked like. So moving on to this section, i'm going to speed this section up really really fast. So you know they won't be too too long, but you guys understand what i'm doing so. The same thing i did to the other section: i'm gon na do to this section, as you guys can see, see it's in normal speed and i don't know how it got in normal speed but yeah. So i'm just gon na speed this section up really fast, because it's the same thing in the same steps i used in the other one foreign, so um. This is what it looks like. I have one side done. To be honest, i think it's gon na turn out really cute. Now what i was thinking i was going to like try to fit in meth did like try to feed this stuff into my hair because um, i would say right now: it's not tight. The rubber bands are not tight; it's not tight, make sure when you do it, you don't tie them like super super tight and another method you could do, which is what i didn't do you know how i cross them. You could leave it a space open and then prevent over that. If that makes sense, i hope that makes sense, but um yeah. So i finished this side now i'm going to go. Do this off camera and i'm gon na come back so we can get into the back, but the back i'm already probably already had. I cannot talk. I'Ma probably already have the back part, so we can just get into it, but so far i think it's gon na be a success. I think it looks really cute, so i can't wait to see this when my makeup is on and all of that this is really cute. Okay, okay, let me go so. I finally finished the whole top of my head. Now we can go ahead and start. You know doing the back. I thought i was going to do not least, but i'm really not going to do knowledge, i'm just going to braid it in regular, because i don't know how to do nautilus and i feel like for this video. I don't want to be here all day, it's already 12 56 and we started this around 1108, but i'm gon na i'm gon na turn around and show out the back of my head. Don'T laugh! It was really hard. Like i said, the this hairstyle is actually easy. The only part that's hard, i'm just wiping all this stuff off me. The only part that's hard is the braiding part. I mean not the breaking part girl. What the only part that is hard is the um parting part. Okay, i'm gon na turn around for now show y'all. So this is the first row and then the size i don't know. I just did my own little thing and then i have four right here. So in all i have hold on, you see one two, three, four, five, six, seven eight. I have eight twisty thingies. Oh this one's coming apart. I have eight twisty thingies back here. So that is that, but i think i want to do them big, like i want to add, like how can i put i want to. I have um, basically, six packs of hair, which should definitely be enough for this, because then weaves is long. They'Re long and i do want to be long a little bit, i don't want to be too sure i was going to um cut them. Should i curl the ends of these? I think i might curl the ends of these a little bit. I don't i don't know what i'm going to do yet we'll get to that when we get to it, but i'm going to just go ahead and start braiding i'll show y'all the hair i have. I hope this might not be enough, because i only have two pegs. I had more than two packs, but i started using them on another hairstyle this. This hairstyle that i'm doing right now is really like last minute and i wanted to go ahead and use this hair. So i hope this is enough, because i want to be long and i'm not mistaken. I don't have another pack of hair this lint over there and the hairstyle i got this hair from is not on my side of town and i do not want to go to the hair store. So with that being said, let me see i might have to cut them in half. I might have to cut them and have y'all so yeah, i'm just going to go ahead and start on the back, so um my camera is fixing to be full. I had to delete some stuff real, quick but um. So far i have three braids. I'M gon na come back once i'm doing the braids at the top, because i feel, like that's gon na be kind of interesting to do because you know yeah, but these are just regular box braids in the back, so i'm gon na come back once this is Done and then i can do my little foam and after my makeup and i can just feel cute again fur so i finished the back of my hair. These are my eight little braids. I'M trying to think that. Maybe i should do them smaller, but i really don't want them small, so i don't want to be here that long but um. I think this is good enough. Eight is good enough. It'S not too much it's not too less, but now we can finally get started on the top up here. I'M only gon na have four braids, as you guys can see. Actually, i might split these up into like these big ones up into their own braids since they're so thick. That'S what i'm gon na! Do i'm gon na split the big ones up like these two minerals up into their own braids, and then these on the side can just be one braid, because they're really skinnier. I look crazy, but i think this is gon na turn out really cute. I really think so because, like i it's just like, i don't know what it was it's just like. I seen the hairstyle. I seen it on a couple people then next thing you know everywhere i looked, i saw it on everybody and i was just like hold on. I thought this was a new type of hairstyle like what what if it is a new type of hairstyle people? Don'T waste no time people jump on them? Oh and also um. This is just one pack um. I only use one pack for my hair. I have a whole big old pack. Well, not big ol pack. I still have that same pack. Basically, so you don't really need that much, but what i am going to do is twist this a little bit. So when i go through and braid it it'll be easier, so i'm just going to hush. So i can braid this and i got ta move fast because um storage, wise y'all after some hours, because it's 2 30 right now we started at 1108. This is how it's looking now my pieces are looking a little crazy. They looking a little standish up fishy, but when i dip them, that's the zone, i'm just ready to do this part, because i've seen so many people who do hair do the phone. I ain't got enough. Oh, i ain't got enough phone, but it's okay, because actually this is enough, i'm just oh, my god. This feels so good. I i'm starting to see why people do this. This feels so good when i dip i'm hoping when i dip the hair that they um. What'S the word they um lay flatter because with them not being dipped right now, they're kind of like standoffish, and that's not what i want. That'S not what that's not what i want. So i want them to lay flat. So i'm going to spray my spray, but i'm going to put some foam on these to hopefully they'll lay flat like i want them to lay like this. If that makes sense, but i don't know how that's going to work but um, i guess the rest of this just dissolves on its own. I don't know, i really don't know but um. If i had to get this hair styling through 10. For somebody i would give it a 10. Why? Because for somebody who, don't if you don't know how to braid scalp wise, do the verbati? It'S still going to give the illusion what rubber bands i realize you can do styles like you wanted to go. If you wanted your parts to be like slanted, you could've done slanted, but me personally. I don't want to be here all day because i'm not going to leave these in long at all. Like i give these things, two days tops and they coming out. I'M not even lying because um i don't like having my hair like put up. I guess i'm not necessarily put up, because i wear my wigs and they're up, but i don't like tightness, even though they're not that tight. To be honest, not that tight, but me personally, i just don't like having my styles in for too long like i like switching up a little bit but um, i'm just gon na go dip my hair and do my makeup and then we can put this look Together once i come back and all of that so stay tuned for the end result how it's gon na look when i bring everything back to life in my face, basically because i'm looking dead, okay guys. So this is the finished final rule. So i personally really really love this. I feel like. I did a really good job on this, so this is being my first ever sound or something like this, but um yeah, here's a up close on the neatness. I love how this hairstyle is so deep. Now i will say this: hairstyle parts play a big role in this hairstyle. If your parts are creaky, it's not going to look as neat but um. This is just how it looks. I like y'all, like how i put the nose cuff with the hairstyle. I feel like this nose cup goes perfectly because it has the braids and all that stuff so yeah. I really like this um. This is how long the braids are. I'M stepping on packages y'all i'm trying not to mind that yeah they're, not that long, but they're pretty long. So one thing i will say i do not like about this hairstyle to me - is that, like these things don't lay flat, but i have to remember that i didn't. What'S the word i um, i didn't not, let's braid them, i just braided them regular, because i don't know how not let's braid it, i'm not going to be here till then tomorrow trying to not lose braid so yeah.
