Hey everyone welcome back to my channel or welcome if you're new, so today i'm going to be doing a watch me work, video and you guys are going to be watching me work on my friend, deidra she's, getting large traditional box braids today and, as you can See she has her signature split dye, hair, half magenta, half green, but it faded a lot. So i bought this hair for her hair because that's the color that it was when i originally dyed it, but it faded a lot. So we decided to mix it with a teal color that i bought off amazon. It was supposed to be teal, but as you can see, it's this ice blue color. So i was really scared when i came in, but luckily she liked it. So we decided to just do a blend with it, so it's mostly the emerald green color, which is expressions by the way, and then we use the ice blue as a highlight color. So then, for her pink side. Sorry, i'm having a lot of trouble holding both of these packs with one hand, but i mostly use this fuchsia here from the twisted up brand and then this hot pink color, which is also from the expressions out tray brand. And we decided to add that light. Pink in so that it also has a highlight color to match the green side and this blend you guys, i love this blend of color. I love pink and it's just i don't know it's just so pretty, but the camera doesn't do it justice, but i really really like how that blend came out so yeah. So both sides of her head were custom blended by yours, truly and then finally, we're adding in this hair tinsel, which is why i'm making this whole video in the first place. This is my first time ever using hair tinsel and braids. I'Ve been wanting to do it for so long and i'm really glad that she asked for it. So now i can post it, and hopefully i get more clients asking it. I got this tinsel off at amazon, which i showed you guys in a previous haul and yeah. That'S what we're doing today. So these braids took me a long time to do. I'M trying to remember what time i actually started. I can't remember - because i did these probably a month ago, if you guys have been following me recently, you would know that i always edit my videos at least a month after i make them, i'm just so bad at finding the time to edit videos. So anyway, i don't remember exactly what time i started. I just know it was really late because she had done my nails and my mom's nails earlier that day. So if you guys catch my beautiful nails, that was her work so after our nose were done that i had to wash and blow out her hair. So i don't think i started braiding until 7, 30 or 8 that night and we finished around three in the morning, so seven hours is a long time to be doing braids. That are this size, but it took me a long time because of all the tucking. I was doing so. I was trying to make sure that the tinsel stayed on the front side of the braid and, at the same time i was trying to make sure that her hair was inside the braiding hair. If that makes sense. So, for those of you who don't know tucking is when you hide the natural hair inside the braiding hair, so it doesn't look like it's blended, so you never really see the natural hair on the pink side. It wasn't really that important that i did that, but, as you can see, the green side did not match it here at all. So since we had already blended two different greens, i didn't want to also throw in her natural hair color, because i didn't want to look like too much going on on that side. You know what i mean, so i was very, very cautious of hiding her natural hair and then, like. I said i want to make sure that the tinsel was showing as well and not only that but also her hair. Obviously the color split down the center, but i don't want her brace to have a split down the center because i just don't like how the braids would lay i prefer to brick lay them. So that means that every other row of braids had a center braid. So i would just pick whatever color the center was going to be for that row, so obviously i needed to really make sure i was hiding her natural hair in that middle braid. So yeah, i was focused on a lot while doing these braids and also it was late. So i was a little bit slow because i have been up all day already so yeah. That is why it took me so long to do these braids, but it was totally worth it. I love how they came out. It was so pretty, as you guys will see in the end and she loved them as well, which is always the most important thing. So yeah, that's pretty much all that i have to say so you guys can feel free to just watch me work also. I know i didn't show this in the video, but in case you guys are wondering how i had the tinsel prepared. I had it set up on my braiding rack, the same way that i was set at my hair if i were doing knotless braids, so i had like two or three pieces of tinsel on each peg and i would feed it into the braids the same way. Outfit and not let's braid, so i would start braiding and then i'll add a little bit and then i'll plot it down a little and then i'll add a few more pieces. So i think i added in three pegs worth of tinsel to each braid. Does that make any sense, so each braid had about six to nine pieces of tinsel. It feels like it's a lot of tinsel for one braid, but i wanted to really make sure that it stood out because the braids were pretty large, so i didn't want them to get lost and also the hair is colored. So i knew it wouldn't stand out as much as it would if it were black or brown hair. You know what i mean, so i wanted to really make sure i was standing out so i did add a lot of pieces and i know you can't really see it as i'm working in this video, but towards the end, it's going to show up more when I show you guys to finish results so anyway. That'S all the talking that i have to do for now so feel, free to just sit back, relax and enjoy watching me work and i'll talk to you guys more as we get to the end of this video. So so all right guys so as you can see, i'm on the final braid and then i'm gon na do all my finishing touches and i'm so sorry guys. I didn't realize that the top of her head was out of the frame, but i'm just doing my usuals, where i trim the braids. I add the mousse. I add some hairspray to keep down the flyaways. I put some oil on her scalp and then i'm gon na dip it. So she just wanted her ants to stay straight, no curls or anything. So i just dipped it in half at a time i was trying to do half at a time just in case of the chance that one of the halves would bleed and it got into the other half. So i checked the water before i dipped the second half just in case, even though honestly, i don't know if that could actually happen, but i just had a fair of that tonight, so yeah. That was that, but neither of the sides bled so everything was fine and i really really wish that it wasn't three in the morning and it was earlier so i could have gone out and showed you guys her hair in the sunlight. So you guys can really see how bright these colors look together, but it was late. So that didn't happen. So here's the finished product we added a lot of jewelry because deidre loves decorating her braids when she gets them done. It is very well decorated. We have the jewelry in there. We have the tinsel, of course, and i think it looks fabulous, i'm so excited to post these and hopefully more clients ask for them, i'm so excited. I love how these braids came out. Aren'T they pretty ugh? I love them so anyway. That is it for this video hope you guys enjoyed. Thank you guys so much for watching and i'll talk to you guys next time bye, you
