Why Our Hair Is Black Girl Magic

In this video, we are embracing our black girl magic. As Ami (Mama) takes out Ava’s braids, they start to talk about their type of hair and the importance of embracing your hair. Ami explains to the girls that in the 1900s, many black women or girls would relax and straighten their hair to be accepted in society. For black women, wearing their natural hair and embracing their afros wasn’t as common back then. Today, Ava and Alexis choose to embrace their hair and their black girl magic!

Hi everyone i'm alex wow, wait, keep that because she thinks she's, alexis hi, everyone, i'm ava and i'm alexis, and we are the club. Well today we're going to talk about our hair and thinking about my hair. How long have we had these baits for, like? I think it's like a little bit over a month, but that got us thinking about like how amazing our hair is. You can do so many different hairstyles with it. You can straighten it cut, really like really really quality watercolor, create it cornrow it, but today we're going to take our braids out we're going to show you guys how amazing our hair is called here. It'S just like black girl magic and we want other girls to have confidence in their hair like we do so. Obviously we can't well. I can't take all this hair out by myself, so my mom's going to help and me your sister. Oh no is she not? No, i will, if she doesn't, i will have a risk of my hair up on him, wow that was dry magic drama drama queen i'm looking at a wife. Keep that in the video be quiet. Please do so i'm going to help these little knuckleheads take their hair out so that i'm not you're still talking as i'm talking about like her mouth anything else. I love. Please continue, so i'm going to help them take their hair out. It'S been in for over a month and let's get these curls, let's set them loose, let them go wild and free and crazy and just be oh, the purple hair go, and this is what our hair does all the time boom didn't tackle. I know everything you spit float too fast. No one knows what you said. You guys know what i said because i'm a good speaker i need to i want, but no you don't start from the middle of your head. This! No, you have to start from the front, otherwise it'll get all mixed up, yeah, first and foremost, i'm going to cut this. Can i cut them, so you think i should cut it here, alexis uh! If you no, i mean it's the front of your head justin. Where should i cut it here? I don't know, i don't know what you're doing no okay, ava she's, so dramatic. You really think i'm going to cut your hair there like right here, but you know what the real crazy thing is. I really can't tell where your hair is, oh, my goodness, and this mom. So here's a bit of advice. No, if you cannot tell where the hair ends you're better off just cutting like the very end. Obviously so you don't cut off hair, but let's see your hair, i mean. I know your hair is long right now, but this is the very front so, like i like to put the scissors down, you cannot cut her hair. Why? No! This is the very front, so it can't be that long. So i'm going to cut about here. No, it looks about right. No, it doesn't it's not laying at all ask you how you are you just have to say that you're fine, when you're not really it'll, go faster. It will go faster if three people right here, though, don't worry alexis, you can do it backwards. She can't see you okay, my hair, it doesn't move my hair, it don't move my hair, it doesn't move, it is moving now. I know there's one right in the front: that's way too short ava. This is not too short. Where do you think your hair? Is this one's like look even like this one's shorter than that one? Oh, my god! Oh i'm, even here ava. None of that is your hair you're, so dry, alexis you're, not helping. Sorry, hey guys, she's going to help. I'M not going to stand here and do this all by myself. Kidding me i'm doing it. Listen only eight-year-olds are going to fight about taking out hair. I don't even want to do it and you, girls are fighting about doing it. I really don't know where her hair ends. Oh mama, don't cut it like you, don't know where it ends that way, don't move, don't move when somebody's holding scissors. I have an idea. No, it's okay! Her hair is not this long nope! It'S not that long! Ah, no, what's my hair, would you stop seriously your hair is not that long and there it goes ava while she's busy crying about nothing. Look. She thinks her hair is so long that i can't cut this. Your hair is not that long, especially once it's braided shorter, see. Oh look. I can see where it's coming out right here, but i'm going to cut a little bit down anyway, just to be sure just to be sure a few moments later, what's been your favorite hairstyle, i mean you guys have had a lot of hairstyles. I mean they're. Eight years old, with a lot of hair, you've had a lot of hairstyles. What'S your favorite, i like the braids the best, and i also like the straight hair, because it's good to have a new hairstyle. I really like about all the hairstyles, because it's good to have a new hairstyle once in a while. How could you possibly say you like braids the best when you complain day in and day out, when you first get them? Well: okay, okay, i like all of them it's just because i like having new hairstyles, so i just don't know i haven't i've had a lot of hairstyles and then, if i pick one then i might see another one next time and i will see like oh This is the movie video style, so ava can't choose and um. I would like you to think about what do you think your favorite hairstyles have been? I like cauli straighten and braids and pigtails you say you like all of them. Can you dad ask a question which hairstyle do you not like cause? It'S not like. You said all of them. Oh, i don't like the bald hairstyle. What have you ever had like you evolved? I don't like no, what hairstyle of yours alexa. I don't like your bad grade. Mama, remember, our hair wasn't wet at all and your baby was just oh, my goodness it was embarrassing. My braid yes, no, your one braid remember in the back, i didn't like it. I thought it would be good in the other house, but my hair wasn't like uh. No, i don't. I don't hold on to those things. So i don't. I can't say i remember so. It sounds like you, girls, like all the hairstyles yeah i like all of them, vendetta um. You should dye your beard. This is not about me. I'M not it's not about your dad's hair, okay, mama out of all the hairstyles which one you like the best. Well, as me, being the one who's done, the most hairstyles on you, i'm going to go ahead and say what i like the best is when i don't have to do your hair, so braids last for like a month right yeah, even if it's not braids like This, like sometimes i'll braid, just their hair and, like you know, a couple of braids, and i love that because then a good week ago - and i don't have to braid - do anything to your hair. So those are my favorite styles. Now i used to love experimenting with your hair. Remember i used to do so many different hairstyles on them. Yeah, i'm just going to cut that last little curl off. If we go back and look like, i used to do like fake mohawks and all types of designs, you guys probably don't even remember half the styles they've had they don't remember, i'm sure mama. I you were talking about when you you were growing up. Kids, didn't like they didn't like embrace your hair, not my hair didn't embrace their own hair. Back 10 years ago, when i was growing up, there was just a lot of like stigma. I guess people thought that not curly hair, just wasn't pretty. Everybody had to straighten their hair or everybody wore braids, and all these other things like nobody ever wanted to wear their hair in its natural way. I guess that was society telling people that you know curly hair, look unruly or messy, i'm like it's just the hair. It'S going out of your head. I don't understand, i'm glad that we have this generation like you and you to help little girls coming up now know that this look at that. Look at the pattern that this is very pretty. Actually, i love the way it comes out of braids. It'S got this pattern to it's amazing and it's not too like fluffy right. If i was a kid in the late, i think she's 1900s about 1995.. How would my hair be okay? Well, first of all, you cannot take out hair from the middle. You need to start front and go forward or back and go let your hair just be in the middle i'm talking to her yeah, because then it gets all the way. If you ain't a mama alexis ava hush, how would your hair be? You'D probably have a perm by now, by eight years, old she'd have a relaxer in her head, so her hair could be bone straight. All the time and you'd have to go every like four to six weeks to get the relaxer put on again, so that when your hair grew out, that would be straightened or you would get like a hot comb all the time. You know what a hot comb is. Yeah. Let me show you, i know what the hot coat is. Is the comb that the tightness at the same time and it brushes too and it comes. This is a hot comb. I know, but i don't remember there being electric ones. I remember you had to put this thing on the stove and let it get hot hot hot and it goes as you were like that's crazy, but you get that all the time. Like all the time, your hair would never be like this, or it would be braided up well mama. Why do you think, like people change in our hair is more acceptable? I don't. I just think that people were just speaking their minds more and saying doesn't make sense that the hair that i have is growing out of my head that i have to change it to please people. You know, there's no reason nobody should have to change. What'S coming out of their head or anything about them, unless that's what they want to do, but they shouldn't feel like they have to do it in order to be pretty or in order to please people or in order to get a job, you know get a Job yeah, no, you used to you think you could wear afros and get a job before absolutely not okay. So black girls tried to before to look like white girl's hair like they're all straight. Well, i wouldn't say they were trying to look like white girl's hair. They were trying to be accepted. Like i said you couldn't get a job with an afro before you'd, be like. Oh, your hair looks. Your hair looks like it's not done, even though it's just hair coming out of your head um, my sister just said eva. You got my hand. This is my hair. No i'm seeing like you. No! This is my hair, i'm the best of mine, no i'm still um yeah, so girls. I think what your mom is saying that a long time ago, maybe black girls didn't think it was socially acceptable just to wear their natural hair. No, it's not that they didn't think it was. Why would we not think it was? They were told it wasn't? Well, they wanted to get it, no, they were told it wasn't. They were literally told, like you, couldn't get a job. You were told your hair looks nappy, you were told your hair looks, you were told this so to get into the school they wanted to or to get the job they wanted to. They wanted to show up with what they thought would be the type of hair that would you know what they knew, what they were told you're loving some stuff too. He is, isn't he girls? I don't need to sit here and pretend, like. I know the life that your mom has lived or other black people. That'S why some of the questions i might have are asked where's. My bar alexa get your hair out of my face. Less talking more working. Let'S get this hair out. Girls, okay, no chit chat! Just work work two hours later. Finally done hair is out, look at her guys. It'S got like i got. What are these called hair clips and ponytails all over the place, because you know when you're taking it out you're just doing a whole lot yeah? What do you think alexis yeah i like it? It is big again. My legs is your face. It'S like a chipmunk hey. Would you ever have anything nice to say it is pretty close to the same face as you. It is out her hair is free. The this is, i guess you can call this a braid out. Their hair was already washed so that i didn't have to wash it after taking it out, because i really wanted to do like a braid out. So i'm going to put some oil on the ends. I'Ll tell her, i did it. Y'All are dramatic ava! You want to see what i cut off. This see dramatic, overly dramatic. You want to put it under your pillow or the hair fairy, so guys i'm going to put a little bit of oil on the ends. I don't even know what she looks like because i haven't seen the front of her since i started taking out her hair. No, it doesn't. I don't know just oil get some oil and just get it on her little end cause. I did too no. No they're really nice to each other guys they really it's amazing how well these sisters treat each other like. So i'm gon na leave my hair out my mom, my hair's gon na yeah. For now yes hush! No, no! No! After the videos you can get all of my face, have you seen yourself? No here, it's crazy. It looks crazy, it does not. This is your hair. Even what do you mean? It looks like yeah? No, it doesn't make a case if i, if i were to put no product in your hair and just have this is what this is your hair, big, hey. You should be glad you have so much hair, so much volume people wish to have as much hair as you have, because then they could do anything with it like they could cut it to like they want. Why would somebody wish to have a lot of hair? So they can cut it. It feels so good to have like my hair out and i can look at it and jiggle it around like a maniac doesn't matter if the message here, you guys is love your hair little girls love the curling curliness embrace the curls. It'S so versatile, there's so much you can do with it and i have been teaching the girls to appreciate their hair and love their hair for a very long time. So i just want to pass that along to you guys, pass it along. So everybody else. No! You can't have my hand, you can do it sure and twins wait i'm on twitter. Thank you for watching and make sure you do more videos subscribe and share like commentations. Thank you for watching

Seana: In the 90s and early 2000s, natural hair wasn’t really embraced nor celebrated. When I was their age, my hair was relaxed. I didn’t even know I had this thick beautiful 4c hair that came out of my scalp. Now, in my 20s, I love my hair and wear it most of the time. This generation shows me that there is progress with representation and great affirmations. ✨

Tarie Nosworthy: As fun as this episode was in the beginning, this is DEEEEEP. My grandma tried to get me to embrace my natural texture, but I wanted hair that "blew in the breeze". I'm grateful mostly for attending Barry U and seeing people with all different curl patterns. Still, there were "rebels" in the 90s like N'Dea Davenport or Angela Stribling. In fact, after seeing Angela natural on BET, I asked my mom to ditch the hit comb. Although I don't remember girls getting their hair relaxed at eight, I remember it being seen like a rite of passage into African-American womanhood. Thank God for our liberation and evolution.

Naomi Milgand: They're learning about self love through hair care which is an integral part identity thanks to the mom. The magic about hair is the growth happens in its natural form and gets the proper self care. Embrace and celebrate your hair and what defines your tresses

TawnyaD: I grew up in the 80's and went to a predominately white school, meaning most times I was the only black girl in a class of 31 students. I grew self conscious about my hair after the kids would tease me about having beads in my hair and always wanted to touch my corn rows. I'm so glad the girls have grown up loving their hair.

Vm Williams: I worked for a job in the early 2000s that told me my hair was too wild. Georgia humidity is no joke on human hair. Even a wig I bought swelled. I was told if I didn't change my hair, I would lose my job. I was transitioning to natural hair in ATL, when press and curls were becoming new and popular. Perms were literally taking out my hair. Thank GOD this generation doesn't have to go through that pressure and threat to conform.

GLW: I just think children are adorable when their baby teeth are missing. These twins are too cute!

Malaeah_2013 Codrington: Ava and Alexis have encouraged me to love my hair and I love it

Asia B: Alexis saying "late 1900s" made me laugh so hard. That made me feel so old.

Maggie Longo: Yes, I have confidence in my hair just like the McClure's do, I love my natural hair so much

Ashira Grace: Yes definitely 60's & 70's natural hair not only embraced, but what a time of hair design expression. Braided crown designs needed no added hair, adorned with gems. Absolutely stunning works of art. So glad I was able to experience those precious times.

sweetladii0712: I just got PTSD when Ami was talking about relaxers and the hot comb on the stove LOL Embrace your beautiful natural hair girls!

Nicole Broaddus: You are such a great mother Ami . They have beautiful hair. Much love to you and your family.

New Beginnings : Erica Latrice: I love the authenticity of this! "No they WERE TOLD that they couldn't wear their natural hair". It's so true, the fact that laws have to be passed for black men and women to wear what naturally grows out of our heads speaks volumes of the ignorance and hate that people have.

Lancette Hunter: Great lesson for them to learn. To love and appreciate their hair and to know how really versatile they can wear it. I

Chinenye Madu: I love Eva and Alexis hairstyles. I was not confident of my hair before but Ave and Alexis encouraged me.

martha warrington: I must say I am really happy that you did this video. It's so important for us to realize how beautiful and unique our hair is . It's ability to transform into any style imaginable

Nytia: I literally love how mom annunciates her words I always notice that every video.

IAmTheLawyer 1: Thanks for sharing this information. I remember when I was not hired because of my curly afroish hair and started to straighten it, grow it out or wear weaves. I am grateful for the evolution of thought, and videos like this encouraging young children and adults to be proud of their hair. ❤

amy.: this video really means a lot, considering how i have very curly hair and people suggest me to straighten it, but i like it curly because natural hair is beautiful

Alliyah editz: Thank you so much I will embrace my black girl magic so much from now on that was truly inspiring!

Myrtice Lorick: Wow time flies!!! It's unbelievable to see how the girls have grown and so beautiful!! McClure parents you guys have done an awesome job and still is doing a great job raising your children .it's a wonderful thing!!! I still love to view your videos...although I don't see them as regular as I use to..i enjoy them still!!! Ami I'm glad to see you are ok again and back to being Ami!! Blessing to you guys!!❤

Princess Favour: I really love how you take proper care of your girls, teaching them how to love themselves. I also have a question to ask Mama McClure. Did you ever cut your girls' hair a few months after they were born? Because, back here in Nigeria, people say mothers should cut their daughters' first growth to kick start growth.

Patti.J: Love this video ❤️ your daughters are amazing

thatlovelydancer Lao: I love this segment. You all kept it I will say I agree on both sides with Ami and Justin on the stigma about black hair. My Mom didn't teach me to love my hair, infact her and many others saw it beautiful when it was straight or in lose curls and braids. My curly 4b, 4c curly hair was Not accepted. And many girls I grew up with didn't like there hair and even today, a bunch of people still dislike their hair. So for the ones who embrace their hair and that now includes me, Thank God because like Ami said, it's the hair we have growing out our head. So embrace it. It's versatile, strong and truly beautiful

Brina Christina: I can relate to this video... I wanted to embrace my natural hair from high school days but I couldn't manage it so I always go back to relaxed hair until I was in my 20s Now I'm like its not that hard to manage I guess I was too young to handle it I love my natural curly hair and prefer wearing it just like that

Tehra G.: Ami is an AWESOME mom.

Donnica Duncan: I love when taking out braids it looks so beautiful her curls are popping

Andrea Campbell: Love this video! keep spreading positivity!

ALAN PARADISE: Yes Ava you look exactly like Alexis. Love watching these girls grow and having fun there amazing little girls with big personalities. And love all there antics. Girls I just love your hair and in long braids or straight down. Sending you Love & Hugs ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

KaBa Love: I’m 42, I REMEMBER THE HOT COMB. AT MY HOUSE WE CALLED IT THE PRESSING COMB. MY MOMMA WOULD PUT THE “Magic” HAIR GREASE ON OUR HAIR TO STRAIGHTEN OUT. IT WOULD STEAM AND SIZZLE SO MUCH. SOMETIMES IT ALMOST SMELLED LIKE IT WAS BURNING.

Marvelous Marva: It’s so sweet the girls can help take care of each other’s hair down! I love all the hair styles

Oma Unique: you could tell they love and adore their mom...shine on girls

Roshonda Bowens: Ava and Alexis I love all of y'all hair styles that y'all had it's be so cute on y'all, hope y'all are having a wonderful friday and stay safe out there ❤️❤️

IshaMoy Williams: It’s how they’ve grown

Carissa Burton: I would straighten my hair a lot in middle school and every time I wore it natural I would get so many compliments. I personally liked my hair straight though and looking back, it was probably because it added length. In high school up until 11th grade, I straightened my hair everryyydaaayy. I liked swimming too and never participated in gym class because I didn’t want anyone to see my hair was curly. Idk why it bothered me so much? But then one day, I decided to wear it natural and people I didn’t talk to or necessarily care for, were complimenting me and specifically saying, “Your hair looks so much better curly” “it fits you/your face” “is that your natural hair!?” And I am now almost 21 and I haven’t straightened my hair since. (My hair is between 3a-3b curls) Oh! and Ava and Lexi have gorgeous hair ❤️

Gloria: Twins are so gorgeous! Love them ❤️

toni fitz: I love a natural afro.. I imagine your hair is difficult to manage, but you all have such beautiful hair... I do love when women and men of colour embrace their natural curls/ afro the bigger the better... Such a beautiful trio.. xx

Ask Lovely: I Appreciate This Video So Much …. It Lets Our Young Queens Learn Early How Uniquely Beautiful Our Natural Hair Is & To Embrace It Not Hate It❤️❤️❤️✊✊✊

Juls Latt: Ava and Alexis, your braids and hair styles always ROCK

toni fitz: I love their natural hair, absolutely stunning xx

gab and Layla: Honestly I love their hair they’re so pretty whoever saves your hair is ugly they’re just jealous

Little Light: I love how they turn off comments for some videos and not others. let's talk about the fact that you're in the middle of teaching your daughter's etiquette for how to sit when wearing their dresses and when instructing them to keep their needs together the one girl says she cannot touch her knees to the ground. I think it's pretty obvious that these little girls are learning something else went off camera. Why when you say your knee should touch if the child thinking about dropping it low?? What does your child know about dropping it low? And why the heck is that the first thing that came into her mind when you said something about knees touching???????

Adys vlogs-edits: I love there hair it's so beautiful I wish I had hair like them and everyone should be proud of there hair

MissShaypril: Women used to gush over my hair because it had such a strong wave to it. I hated it because I didn't see other girls with my kind of hair and I wanted to look like the pretty girls on t.v., black girls included because they all had straight hair on t.v. and in magazines. I think I would have embraced it more if I was actually able to straighten it, but the wave was too thick. Now that my hair has naturally relaxed more, I can straighten it. I find that now I rarely ever straighten it or use heat. I just put it in a braid everyday.

ねいるE N D E R L E S S: I wish my mom was like you, my mom forced me and my sister to perm and relax our hair when I started 1st-2nd grade. And I stopped perming my hair completely till 7th grade, and I cut off all my damage hair. Now it's been a year since I cut my hair and I'm trying to grow it out. I have 4b-4c hair and it's really hard when my mom or sister doesn't want to help me. But I still try my best and I have alot to learn

naturalbeyouty: Thank you for putting out this black girl magic hair love! We must love, nurture and proudly wear our God given hair because it's fearfully and wonderfully made.

Vongai Sibanda: I am so with u on this one I used to hate my hair but now I watched this i can embrace my hair

Mama Karin: Seems like Daddy was learning right along with the girls!

Debra Sloan: One way to really damage your hair is perming and coloring , it will change the texture and slow down or stop the hair from growing . Even constant heat especially if the heat is too hot !

Deborah Giles: Wonderful vid! This is a great hair learning video. The girls were very funny being themselves! Positive lessons in real life situations are always the best. Mom and dad commentaries were great.

Kimberly Turner: I could listen to these two all day! The cuteness is too much!

Chill with Amelia❤: The girls are growing so beautiful

Diamond Beckett: I was born in the very late 90s and because of the limitations society had placed on the generation before me, even after some of those limitations were lifted ish, a lot of our (the children growing up) hair was relaxed/"creamed" or flat ironed because they (our parents) didn't know how to "manage"/ care for natural hair. They didn't get to spend their hair journey learning about their own hair and how to take care of it. Combined with the residual mindset of your natural hair isn't professional. Even though a lot of us sustained chemical burns, direct burns and hair damage from these styles, we still had to get our hair creamed the next time around. I am so grateful for YouTube and the increase in the sharing of knowledge of natural hair care because when I turned 18, I was now able to fully refuse creaming my hair and I had to prove that I could "manage" my natural hair. I always hated creaming my hair; it hurt so much, It burned, I had scabs and the very last time my scalp bled. My hair would never pass my shoulder because of breakage, split ends and thinning. The big chop was one of the best decisions I ever made. My hair is now healthier, longer (almost at my bottom), I have a lot less breakage and split ends and I LOVE my curls. And now with knowledge I shared, the other women in my family including my mother have grown to love and know how to better care for their natural hair

Renee Yevette Patrick: Actually, Love Yourself first and foremost, and the rest will follow. This means be the Best Person, and Being that You can Be!!!

Carol Lothian: I love the self love your teaching the girls and they have such beautiful hair ❤

It's My Life Daralynn: " Be quiet, keep that in the video." LOL I love their hair because it is versatile . Not that my opinion matters, but I love it. I remember back in the days of anchor women on the news ( Once they were accepted to be anchors) they were told they had to straighten their hair or no job. In Atlanta Monica Kaufman was one of the first anchor women of color and she was ridiculed a lot about her hair. It's nice to see women of color as anchor women now, wearing whatever style they like. This is a great video for young girls to watch the twins. I love the message you left for little girls.

Lovely Taehyung: Their both so adorable! ✨

Josette Charles: Yes, the girls are so blessed with such beautiful hair.❤

AriesGirl VirgoMoon: Wow…. Remember, you’re always setting an example for your children. Talk to them the way you want them to grow up and talk. Showing to behavior that you want to see in them is how you create that.

Duhhittz.Kímberléy💛: Ava and her hair volune looks soo beautiful!

Ramona Jenkins: You must love your hair know matter who you are where you're from you must always love your hair because it a gift from God❤❤❤❤

E O1: Really great job and awesome video. Very candid and I really liked you telling the truth about the experience of afro hair in that time period. Well done.

d.c.: That braid out was great. Im 25 still learning how to properly take care of my hair ❤

Bi: When Alexis said “in the late 1900’s “ priceless; I’m just here laughing at myself now

Hashtag Yali cool: Love you guys, you guys inspire me so much

The Culture Cousins Podcast: The girls hair are beautiful. Every style looks good on the I don't blame them for not being able to chose. Maybe some desensitization to the attachment to their hair maybe necessary cause when ava thought the hair was going to be cut she was about to have a break down, lol.

RM Lp: Love the positive message and hair love.

Renee Bruno: Beautiful hair, beautiful girlz!! Great job mom and dad!!

Sharelle Nelson: I have afro hair like Alexis and Ava, and it really is like black girl magic because you can do almost everything and anything with it; sometimes I would weave it, braid it, straighten it, curl it etc.We can do that because our hair is flexible, in other words it can be styled in many ways. However nowadays in today's society people don't really respect black girls hair or even black boys, some even get bullied for their natural afro hair. When I was in secondary school they had really strict rules like for example how you're supposed to wear your hair, I remember this one time I wore beads in my hair at school and they started complaining and asking me if the beads aren't going to fall out. I also used to wear my hair afro kinky in school and most of the children in my school would love they always ask me if they could touch it.

Chidubem Obikili: Love your curls Ava, wish I had those but too bad I'm a Nigerian just like your mom. Can't wait to see your next hairstyle

Tonya Patterson: Awesome video. It’s great to see them embracing their natural hair. They are blessed to have so much of it as well. I have been suffering with alopecia, so wigs have been my go to option. However, I absolutely love how natural hair looks and the versatility of it.

Jada Singh: I have hair like that to my knee so my mom and grandma took me to a hairdresser and cut it to my neck but I was happy to donate it to children .The hairdresser said to keep it mousterise

Life of Adamma: I love this video. Thank you!❤❤❤

Nay walker: My S/O knows I watch you guys so much he knows the last part "thank you for washing" I love their hair I myself had hair like them and hated it my mom kept it in micros braids or that dang hot comb burning myself but back then anything was better than my puffy curly hair now I embrace it it's hard when you are taught by the world to hate it.... Don't get any perms or put any heat to my hair anymore

D Ferg: You girls are so beautiful, I love all the hair styles your Mama put you in.

Fidget gizmo: It’s hard to not feel sad during this because My hair is straight and my skin is pale, and people don’t think that we don’t go through the same problems of not loving our hair. My hair is flat and boring and I always hide it. Textured hair is beautiful, dark skin is beautiful, but where is pale skin:( (not trying to insult anyone, it is just hard for me to accept my hair at this stage in my life)

TRBL MKR: bro Alexis really slayed my life with "the late 1900s" she's not even lying but it sounds like FOREVER ago hahahaha

the_anonymousgal🇸🇦: Hey guys I was also loosing my braids when i saw the notification and I watched this video b4 you knew it I was done. ✋ I also have this super black natural hair(I am Nigerian) it's not that long but it was tangled all the way. I love to keep it this way coz it kind of shows your neutrality and personality and also my mom(Nigerian) would never allow us to try use anything that will change it somehow. But I don't know any tips on keeping my hair entangled. Anyways,it's a really nice job teaching the kids to love their natural hair keep up with the job❤

Kamerin Queen: They are getting so big they are very beautiful God's beautiful Angels. They have big beautiful hair they were blessed with that hair on their head and they were born with kindness and confidence I love them so much its crazy how much they have grown its crazy I love you McClure family. Deborah Parker: Love the girls hair!! Love that black girl magic!

Vutlharhi Mbhiza: Ava is totally a diva

Eugenia Jones: When i was growing up i had long hair and i would get it braided from a friend of the family. I have think coarse hair, i even had relaxer in my hair to make it easier to comb. My mom use to do my hair with the hot comb, i didn't like it at all because i would get burned from time to time. And my hair would do it's own thing. If my mom curled my hair done it would raise up and i would sweat in my head. I have had many hairstyles and i would get my hair done by my older sister that went to cosmtogly school and she needed a model/ person to do their hair and i would get my hair done from my sister for free. And she was my hairstylist until she passed before my high school graduation. She did my hair most of the time. She did my hair for school and. I had a afro/ natural. I always had someone doing my hair in my family. The last time she did my hair she did it for my prom and she planned to do it for my graduation but she was sick with cancer and the salon owner did my hair for me, and i went to elementary school with her daughter. So i have had my share of hair styles. I still have think coarse hair but it short. It works for me and it's easier to take care of. When my hair was longer it was harder to handle and i couldn't put in a ponytail etc. I have Cerebral Palsy and it has been hard to deal with so i keep it short and i love myself and my hair.

Ranay: Girls love your beautiful curls ❤

African Girl: wow. beautiful family

Len Jon: The girl is right. My mother and aunts used to have their natural hair in a bun or twisted and it was acceptabele and looked beautiful, but then came the straightening and black people said to each other “ you have bad hair.. so the black natural hair became “bad hair” and everybody began straightening their hair as you wanted to look like all those white actresses and singers . But then the worst time began and they began to wear the wigs all day long. Africans trough centuries used to use all sort of wigs, but not to the extend that it damage their hair. But nowadays you see some people walking around with those cheap old wigs and sometimes it looks really bad . I am so glad you are teaching the girl to love their hair, although the girls have mixed hair ( the 3c pattern and I love it, as you can do a lot of hairdo with that hair.) But nowadays I see a lot of beautiful beautiful black girls with their natural hair and to me they do look like African queens. The ebony skin radiant and that amazing hair ( only Africans or African descendant have this amazing 4 c hair) .

anita lockett: Beautiful nature hair ❤️❤️

Asha toonzz: I agree that you can do a lot of hairstyles since I'm black and I have curly and puffy hair it can also be a big process getting it done

Krisi Alayna: BRUH! "My hair, it don't move." Will NEVER get old. Cracked me up!

Adeika Perrin: I love your hair Ava

TikTok trends: Love you guys ❤️
