Growing Natural Black Hair Long Fast/ 4C Natural Hair Journey W/Pictures (A Decade Of Hair Growth)

Very Detailed: DAMAGED RELAXED HAIR TO NATURAL HAIR TRANSFORMATION. Growing Natural Black Hair Long Fast fast/ 4c Natural Hair Journey with Pictures. A DECADE OF GROWTH from 2010 to 2020.

This video shows my natural hair transformation from relaxed hair to natural hair over a decade. It is my natural hair journey and healthy hair journey from damaged hair to healthy hair.

My damaged relaxed hair was discoloured, riddled with breakage and uneven. In this video, I share my story of how I transitioned to natural hair from wearing weaves to wearing my natural hair confidently and how to turn relaxed hair into natural.

Going from damaged relaxed hair to healthy natural hair has been such a rewarding journey so I encourage you all to do the same.

Things note are;

I transitioned from relaxed hair to natural hair in 2011

Big chopped my relaxed hair in 2012

Got to waist length by 2016.

Right now, I’m just enjoying my length and having fun with my natural hair.

My natural hair is currently Tailbone length which is approximately 30 inches long.

My hair type is 4c which means it is Kinky and very tightly coiled. It dries up very easily and certainly needs a lot of moisture.

And what to ever do with ours? Len chess, okay, camera can get this okay, we're gon na have to get on the bed all right. So there we go right on the blue hi. My name is Reggie. There'S welcome to my channel people calls and today you're, watching a decade of my hair journey, all right. So the first person here is from 20 2010, and I remember this her. We actually my friend and my friend and I godís I went to have this photo shoot done, and it was our first time wearing full makeup professionally done anyway, and I had this, I had fixed its weave and I had had that for on bags with the Ways - and I, like my ways between the Brazil talks over 16 inches long, so that's what I used to wear a lot and then this is also a French, ah green, with the leave as well, I know was absolutely relaxed here. I hadn't begun Megan option attorney. I didn't even know what that your hair was at the time and moving on, I loved it to have like the middle part. So in this one I had and then in this photo, I was really feeling my last energy. I thought my hair was long input at this point. Well then, yeah, we know what long hair is now. This isn't long hair and I just loved how my hair was okay, but then yeah soon off summer, having out it's a super break off, as you can see in photos, this was the same year in 2010 and you can see it began to read. We grew shorter and shortened name anyway, so I began to after this popular photo that everyone knows of me online. This was how bad my hair got. So the photo left was how bad my hair got. My hair began to change color, it was uneven and you know I just I was tired. I wanted to know what my hair would feel like. I looked like if I just stopped with the chemicals and stopped really relaxes, so I didn't actually know cuz. I was at the University of the UK at that point, so I didn't know what natural hair was. I didn't know I had curls, so you can imagine my joy when I began to transition and I was like oh my gosh, my hair. It'S curly like I never knew why I was Kylie, so these are so much my photos. Okay, before that these are clips. These are shots of the name of my hair was a mess like my hair was bad, but my name was worth thankfully, and I did I never lost my edges apart from obviously doing postpartum, but that's another that strictly that's way forward in the future. This is about having 11 and my hair was just super breaking. I had. I began to transition, so I completely stopped relaxing. Why do you know what to do my hair? So I thought okay, I think it'll be cool. If I just no, let's see what's gon na happen, so I began to have this really this tip of my hair, my transitioning hair. So I began to watch lots of YouTube videos and I learned how to twist sort of - and I just made it look okay. So, even if I wasn't to be comfortable with wearing my natural head, the lectures or two classes of seminar, I I tried to transition using like hand wraps at that time. I was self-conscious, so this was me. This is not everyone, so I was self-conscious of how my hair looks. I used to wear head wraps. I also used to rock of braids, so I would wear my hair in braids and I love to wear my hair in different colored braids. It wasn't just like black. I actually just like very my my braids in black, so I would wear like brown. I would wear white white braids. I would wear just suit different colors just to stand out. So that's my hangry well. This is another photo of my hair in braids. This is like this was wash day for me. I used to pop up my hair so much in the first few years, like oh yeah, one see ya three, that's we take something. 11. 2014. I pump at my head so so much. I took my time on wash days. I made up time to make sure that my hair had all the love, and I was after I had led what my hair love. So I knew that my hair, like the lco method, so which was the leaving conditioner cream at oil, and I knew that I needed to deep condition every time I washed. So my hair was always shiny and my clothes were always popping and they loved it. But then I at that point where my hair was short. I actually didn't know him that I could also I just pop my head before. Well, you know what I could also like, wash my hair in braids or twists. So I used to have the single strand knots and these pissed me off, because I love my curls, but I hated that my curls would call up curl my color themselves and it just was annoying, but it was fun, so I need them up photos. This is me at two years that had my full out for at that point I had just taken out some braids and my hair was popping and funny enough. This photo was the same day that I took my first volume check and I remember like I was trying to show how much volume I had, because I knew my hair was massive and I thought my head. I thought my hair was massive then, and I wanted to show it, but you know how to, and I just thought why don't you just bend down and like that people see like just bed, and that was big enough volume checks, because there was nothing like that And there was nothing like it in natural hair community and when I release it like people would what, if that real, it's not normal and I'm like yeah, it's my hair. So this was the first day and the first volume check that I had and let me see, I proceeded to keep putting my hair in protective styles just to make sure that my hair was protect at all time. Because at this point I was taking holidays or psycho wish to come back to Nigeria to see my family and I, the weather, the environment actually really does affect natural hair. So whenever I stress that in my hair growth reduce it but like yeah whatever, but they do, the what's it called. The weather like here in Nigeria is hot. Sometimes it's humid, sometimes it's dry, sometimes, and when that I always have to adjust manage, I have a teen, but then in UK is, and most teachers like it's when it's winter is go busy cold. It'S it's humid, sometimes, but in summer, is not as dry and it says here in Nigeria. So there's a lot of adjustment. I have to be done with my head with my hair. Well, that's it that's the thing when you grow with your hair, you grow to love your hair and it big that's another thing I actually cuz. So people always ask: how do you embrace your not your head? It took me. It took me a whole year to love my natural hair, so I wouldn't be one of those girls that would tell you only when a big chop or when you completely transition, you would love your hate me and II know. I did it took me a while to get used to the curls to know how to style my hair, to know how to wear my hair and to walk with my hair confidently to lectures two seminars. It literally took awhile, so I would recommend I would always say that you have to stick to meet. You have to you know, look yourself in the mirror, give yourself those affirmations, and you have to know that you're beautiful, your hair is also beautiful and you are complete, as you are, and with that you're able to you know, love your hair and love yourself to More so moving on going back to the photo. This was my first absolutely awesome. Twist out. I was feeling it so much. I had like every moment. I could I every more that I could take that could take photos. I did because I really I was so shocked that my like a lot that my hair was able to like be defying all the way. I can't remember what product I used. It'S been 40 years, but this was my first twist out that I actually wore outside. I used to twist my hair and I used to try to do to herself. Well then, this was the first that had my hair shiny. Actually I remember the product the product was by Annie to grant it is a UK company, so yeah cuz. I remember her products always leave my hair, anything I'm looking really shiny. So, yes, that was that buy yet three. I always used to keep my hair. I tried you know doing. Oh you can see. I wasn't always good at doing updos and head south. This was a struggle, so I used to love. You know experimenting with styles to do updates. You know play my through my hair in different ways and, as they say, just makes perfect. Like honestly practice makes perfect. I got way better at it and, as you can see in these photos, a yelling that, because every people loved these photos on Instagram when I began to upload them - and you think that I had gone from zero to a hundred. So you really all takes practice. You'Re, like just keep at it, don't give up it's your hair, you it's on your head, it's your real hair on your head, just like keep at it! So I this is my first washing go. This is my first question girl. I loved it and loved it, and I just and not how my curls were defined and I loved how whatever notes my hair was even with the washing go. I didn't really like the shrinkage, but I did like it it's a lot of a relationship back with me. Shrinkage is a love-hate relationship, sometimes like now. I want you guys to I want. You loves to see that my hair is big and it's long, but then he just shrinks up. So yes, if you don't know, my hair is currently eight years natural. So I started a hair journey ends up in the eleven transition to those 2012 and then I literally I caught my. I did my big chop in 2012, so I caught my hair then and then I've been natural ever since so, and I'm never going back. Quite a grace of God, so yes, I buy here three and four. I also you know. I was binge watching on YouTube videos and I tried flexi rod sets like you can see. I used to mix it up by sometimes I would do bantu on one side and duplex rolls on one side and then put everything and not do afterwards, because it was always a mess and I never could figure out figure out why my my Styles never came Up with the girls like the girls on YouTube - oh now, that's obvious because they weren't enough youtubers with 4c hair, then so in literal eaves watch people would for a for be here and three see curls and I'll. Try to manipulate my head to the way. Theirs was, but it just never worked so yeah. So now you have me now you have youtubers like me that you can watch and actually like grab the cakes and the tutorials will work so yeah. So this this is a photo of I've kind of I skipped a lot, but then this is. This is a voluminous first of my hair by year four, and when people ask me, I always say that I actually reached my desired hair length. That is about 24, 25 inches long natural hair by year 5 and ever since then, I've just made sure to like trim it to just play with it to have fun with it, because I'm act like I'm at my goal. This was what I always wanted and now that I've gotten it it's just up to me to maintain it as it is, and also to love it and enjoy it. Most importantly, right now that I've got into the length so will I cut my hand feature who knows when I keep growing out my hair, who knows but right now, I'm just at the phase where I'm enjoying it absolutely so so back to the photo of the Person that went viral the photo that had me. You know that caused some cyber bullying, that you know people loved to hate yeah. I would say people love to hate, and this was from four years ago, so yeah people were hating on the fact that I had to say robe on and I love keeping my clothes. I don't know about you, but I have clothes from a decade ago, like this prettier like the first. I think I still have the dress from the first photo that I showed you guys, and it is not a case that obviously I cannot afford it. I just feel of keeping clothes and it's not a case that I don't want to give my clothes away either, but I just still have them and I am the kind of girl. I keep things. I'M not. I don't. I don't was the word for this. I I know I was the words I don't keep clutter. I don't think I don't keep clutter, but with clothes I like to buy good quality clothes and the lasts a very long time. So I don't see the reason why I need to throw things away if, if they're still good, so yes and funny enough is what I thought that people wouldn't believe that it was me. If I wore something else and then I found my room and I put it up on him - they took a phone. So I feel, like I don't know, that's like people were literally on my case like insulting. Oh, oh, oh, that that's all a one room after five years of Aruba it just had me the bitterness was so much that I it could be a bit sad. I wouldn't say, didn't get to me. It did get to me because people were in highly reasonable point of the video, which was to see the hair transformation and also prove to them that your hair can be damaged, can be, discolored can be uneven, you can be messed up and you can still. You know take care of it properly as a black woman and grow it out and have like super curly, kinky coily, beautiful long, hair, healthy and shiny over this decade has been amazing. He'S led me to be in front of you guys I never for what, in my life, thought that I would make a youtube channel and I would grow as a blogger and now an influencer, and it's just been amazing, and I cook I hope, to keep inspiring You not just in natural hair, but with lifestyle with motherhood, content as well, and I hope you'll definitely enjoyed this video as I enjoyed making it. Ebizzill: People are SO f*kin wasteful! What they don't realize is when you buy expensive/quality clothing.. it's expensive for a reason... it's SUPPOSED to last for a LOOOOONG time. I was raised in italy, my mom would invest in quality and expensive clothes sometimes shoes, and we've been carrying them everywhere we've lived. Almost 20 years later these clothes are still in tip top condition, hell, she even passed them down to me and suprisingly never go out of style. I'm with you with the whole robe thing. If you want to keep your robe for a century, it's your right!

Krissy M: Girl you do not have to explain your clothing. I have pants older than my 13 year old daughter. We are here for your hair and not your clothes. Go tell those with the negativity to go and kick rocks.
