Welcome back to my channel, it's sonora aka, the southern belle of the south bronx. If you're new here welcome now, if you saw my diy braid headband video, you would see if you follow me on tick tock, it got a lot of traction, went viral on tick. Tock and one of the questions someone asked me underneath one of the videos, because i posted a whole bunch of videos with the braid headband was: can you wash it i'll put the question up here: shameless plug. Follow me on tick, tock, instagram, twitter, all places same name is fedora, so i just made a quick little video on how i wash the kanekalon hair synthetic hair. So, let's get into it we're going to start with warm water, not too hot. We'Re going to add some dr bronner's baby, castile soap, you can use any castile soap or any shampoo we're just looking for a soap agent here and we're going to add some vinegar. You can use white distilled or you can use some apple cider, vinegar. The vinegar will help remove the alkaline lye that the kanekalon hair tends to be coated in. This is what makes the hair heat resistant, but also that's what causes the itchiness and the bumps and we're just going to soak the hair in here before we agitate it and yes, always soak your hair in vinegar. You should, i should have done it before applying it to my hair and using it, but you know i did it now, so we're going to let that soak agitated and we're going to rinse this a couple times with some cool water and then we're going to Add a little bit of conditioner just to soften up the hair a little bit. This is not really necessary, but i just like the feeling and the smell of the conditioner and again we're going to rinse this. So we're going to rinse out the conditioner. We want to make sure that we get everything out, especially on the headband part, and also make sure that you agitate this part with the soap as well to remove any sled or oil that's been collected. And then you just want to ring this out pretty. Well. Even though i'm going to put this tub over my radiator so that the hair can hang over it and we're going to add a i'm just showing here that it's clean, i'm going to open this back up and then i'm going to use a hanger with clips On it just to clip the hair - and i want to make sure that i'm gripping both the headband and the hair, but i've washed this already twice and none of the braids have fell off - that hot glue gun that three dollar hot glue gun from michaels really Did its thing, like i said, we're gon na put this over my radiator it dried in about 20 minutes. It was pretty warm inside of my apartment that day and then i just reapply so i'm reapplying my headband. I use a mesh wig cap, my headband and then my choice of headwear, i'm using a scarf today. So you see washing this diy. Braid headband was pretty easy. I love it. Um, i'm gon na wear it in the winter. I'M aware until my hair is long enough for me to actually braid it or even even after it's long enough to braid, i'm still gon na wear. You know why who the hell wants to sit on a chair for three four five six hours i mean i'm still gon na. Do it, but still it's a cute style. I like it anyway. Thank you so much for watching, don't forget to comment like and subscribe. Y'All be blessed bye,
