Curly Bun Updo Tutorial

Hi guys, it's me, Laura pasta, mr. Harris stylist, today's video, I'm going to show you how to do Jessica, Alba's hair, like she did it at some movie award in 2006. I know it's a long time ago, but it's a really nice hairstyle. So I wanted to show you her teammates cuz. I still do it even though it's five years old, so first off what you want to do is have your whole hair curl. Today, I did mine with my big barrel, curling iron, but you can do with your flat iron as well. If you don't know how go on to my video on how to flatter and curl your hair, okay, so that's the first step unless it's going to give us a base when we pull it back and give us up nice little messy look. But as you noticed, I've sectioned out the top half what we're gon na do with that is make like a mini little Roller set going back to give a SUP nice height and volume that she has. I already did a the first one here in the front. Just because I have a little baby bang and I knew it was gon na be tough, so I didn't want to waste any time with that. So we'll start up with the next one. So what you want to do is just section out a piece of your hair like this gon na hairspray. It give it a little tease and then you're gon na roll it back. This is gon na make you look like an old lady, but it's gon na look very good when it's done so it's okay, okay and see how I have that little curl. What you want to do is just roll that up a little ball. Take a deep and put it in next section and that's gon na cool like that, is you know from my other videos when your hair cools it takes the shape that it's in so this is gon na make a curl just like the rest of your hair, But you're going to get the volume because it's being left it cool going up and back next one you can feel it getting really hot through your curling iron. Here, that's when you know it's done. Okay, I even left a little ball. Tighten that up and cut. I'M just gon na do I'm not even gon na. Do this one, I'm just gon na curl it you don't have to go too far back so you hear me, go gon na get spray. You leave this to cool down now we're gon na. Do the sides now you want a little bit of volume. You want to be kind of big, just give it all a little tease! It'S okay! If your curls look like a mess because they're going into a bun, so you just pull it back and we're gon na make a ponytail up. First, I'm gon na do two steps smooth at the bottom. Here I know ever well, so you might not see, but the bottom shouldn't look messy, take your ear inside and give yourself a nice ponytail. I don't have my curls are gone. It'S okay, look great great, okay, okay! Next his face! You want this to go really! Nice and big, your hair shouldn't be cleaned to do this. I was just going to be really slippery and it won't work. Okay, you want Messier, take your next one and make a little button, so maybe you leave it through and then catch some of your hair on your next way through. Everyone knows that you guys all know how big buns - okay, it's like this and just pull some of those ends out. Okay and we'll pin them in beautiful. No doesn't look right yet, but it well. Okay now take her to the top, and this is where you need to start thinking about the shape of your face and what you want it to look like. For me, my face is long and skinny, so I don't really like to have my hair too tall girls. I feel like I start getting like a horse face. That'S not good, but if you have a like a really round white face, you want something to be paid here right so that you don't look bigger mean. I won't big here, because if I'm too tight look, my face is even tighter. So I go like this. It'S really nice and you can see a hairstyle start just coming into shape, even when they look messy to start okay now, the reason why you wanted to waste cuz now you have all this extra hair here, so you can just kind of pin that in place, But grab your hair back here and just stick. It okay grab with your fingers and then just take pins and pin it exactly where your fingers are, because you know how those hairstyles always look the best. So don't move your hand until you're done with pins. You guys all know what I'm talking about meet one more here, make sure it feels tight in your head if it feels loose, keep adding more pins. That'S what they're there for - and you don't want this to look too perfect, either remover, it's a nice toss.
