Oh, hey everyone and welcome to my channel today we have a super requested video from people on Instagram. If you follow me on Instagram today, I'm going to be talking you through my routine, on how i refresh my curls in the morning. I have two ways that I that's four. I have two ways that I typically like to refresh my curls in the morning I wake up and my curls are still looking pretty well-defined. I'Ve got a nice volume. The shape is still there, but I do have a little bit of fuzz and fruits around the tops of my hair and I just want to tame the fuzz. I have a really really easy way of refreshing, my curls in the morning and I'll leave it here in this video for you guys, so you can go check that out, but this video is about when you wake up in the morning your curls are flattened out. There'S no definition, it's extremely fuzzy and you literally cannot wear your hair out because it looks like crap. Basically, I'm gon na take you through step by step of what I like to do in the mornings to refresh my curls when I wake up and they look really really bad, hey guys make sure you continue watching. Thank you for being here right before you continue make sure you give this video a big thumbs up and subscribe to my channel. I also forgot to tell you who I am I'm Jamie Jo, so I just want to tell you the reason that my hair looks like this. If you are a frequent watcher of my channel, you would know that I'm in a professional musical here in Australia called Billy Elliot. It'S touring around the country and we've opened with shows in Sydney which is super exciting so every day, basically well not every day, but mostly every day. I have to have my hair in my show. Hairstyle and basically I weigh like a mid curly bun. That'S pulled back, but the thing is, if I decide to wash my hair the morning of a performance and I have to pull my hair back and like brush the front part, it just gets really soft and fuzzy and all the curls get really undefined. Because I don't have a day to allow my head to kind of settle after a wash and go instead, I'm pulling it back straight away, which kind of gets rid of the curls. I had personally as a three beaker legal doesn't really last very well. Unless I keep my hair out on the first full day of a wash and go, and also yesterday when I did wash my hair, I knew that I had to put it straight into a bun, so I didn't focus too much on the way I stabbed my Again the products I put in, I just really quickly dried it so that I could efficiently get it into a bun on time. Basically, what I'm saying is my hair looks like an absolute mess. There are hardly any curls in it. It'S just a fuzz ball because of the hair I wear in my shows, but today I'm going to be showing you how to root. For a rest, your hair, if you find that you have the same issue, you wear your hair for the first day and it looks really well, but then, when you sleep and wake up, all the curls are gone. Your hair is fuzzy. It'S really soft and there's no definition at all. This video is going to be perfect for you, it's going to tell you exactly how you can refresh your hair to make it last for the next few days. This is what we've got and we're going to transform and refresh our curls, and I've got a few simple steps, basically, that you can follow to do the same thing. The first thing you want to do is section of your hair. I like to section of my hair just so I can really focus on each individual part of my hair. Otherwise, I feel, like I miss sections, or some sections have more products than other sections. Some people like to part it. This is a new section. These sections this way I personally like to just give it a rough part down the center, and I start with just one side at a time - basically hey guys after you've sectioned your hair. The next thing you want to do is to get a spray bottle. This is actually essential. I do not know what I did before. I had a spray bottle. Spray bottles are amazing for curly hair, just get one they're like two dollars from the dollar store or Kmart, or wherever fill it up with water. Just from the tap you don't need to add any product in it. You can, if you want to, but I personally like to just have normal water, and then you just want to start to damp in your hair. Don'T once it completely soak your hair, but you do want to make sure your whole, like every strand of your hair, gets deafened. Okay. Now, I'm just kind of like make sure they. What up it's soaking into my hand when it got a towel. Cuz, I'm soaking wet, and the next step you want to do is to brush out your hair. You just want to get rid of any knots because you don't want to start on top of nuts. This is gon na make your hair extremely matter, and you won't have much definition, so I'm just using the Denman brush. I don't normally like to detangle with the Denman brush, but my hair shouldn't be too naughty, as I just washed it yesterday. So basically that is step number three. Okay, so once your hair, it's fully the tangled and you can really like to run your brush, so it smoothly. That is the end of step three and we're going to move straight on to the next step. Step number four: applying product amount, the products that you apply to your hair is going to depend on how much product is already in your hair. Yesterday I only used the curling smoothie from Shea Moisture. I used this product only because I knew that I would have to slick my hair back into a bun, so it didn't really matter if I didn't have much hold this product. For me, it gives me moisture and definition, but the thing that gives me hold is a gel and I have a few gels, but I really like the ultra defining gel from Diva ko when I use these two together, I get moisture definition and I get hold So that's why I like to use a smoothie and a gel, so I don't really have much product in my hair today at all. That'S why I'm going to be using a decent amount of product to start my hair. But if you, the day before you refresh the curls, have quite a lot of product in your hair, you'll be able to tell by when you wet it and if you feel through your hair. If you feel that cast over your curls, then you should only be applying a really little amount of product. I can hardly feel anything left in my hair, so I'm going to be applying a decent amount of product, just keep in mind that if you have thin fine, freebee, curls or 3a curls. Like me, this Shea Moisture smoothie is quite thick and heavy and a lot a little goes along the way so don't apply too much. I'M gon na start with this, so it's actually quite a lot of product and I'm going to get it all over. My hair, especially from underneath getting those ends, I can feel them and moisturize okay, so we've added our first product in and now we're going to start to style it with the Devon brush. So I have a full video of how I style my hair with the dimmer and brush, but I'm gon na be doing it a little bit different. Today I have been watching a lot of mains by Mel and I love the way that she uses the Denman brush the styler here. So I'm going to be doing that today pulling away from the head and back so now. At this point, you want to go in with your gel I like to use my gel last and I like to apply it by scrunching it after I've styled it with the brush. So basically, I want to scrunch my hair and get the gel over all the curls in this scrunching motion to really give them a nice hold and definition, and you want to see visually that you know. You'Ve got really nice shiny, defined curls and there's not files on the top of your hair. Okay. So now I'm happy with this side of my hair I'm going to let it start to air dry. Whilst I move on to the other side here, we've got my hair wet now. If you do have the time, if you're lucky enough to have the time to completely let your hair air-dry go ahead and do that, but but I like to use the diffuser for my next step, surprised, I got a new diffuse up. Finally, I have had these shitty stuff use up for the longest time and everyone always asked me about it, and I was like it's not even on the market anymore, so I had no clue what to tell you guys, but finally, but a new diffuser that you Can buy this is a JHD comes with what comes with a great diffuser attachment like I like, when my diffuser has the little thingies poking outwards, rather than it being like a bulb. So this one is amazing: it's got a cool setting, it's got two speeds and it's got three temperatures as well as the cool setting. So I like to start by diffusing and by not directly touching my curls but kind of blowing the wind on them a little bit so that I'm not ruining it's a natural pattern. So this is the next step for refreshing. Your cups also, I like to do this on the medium speed, so I'm not blowing my hair around too much to Beryl when the curl pattern we're about halfway dry, I wanted to show you a little progress step, so my hair is looking really good and I Get a bit closer to my hair being dry for added volume. I kind of like to do this and shake my hair, whilst I'm diffusing this kind of loosens up the curls, but it creates a more volume. I know it seems like a little bit of a lengthy process, but this restyle is going to last me through the entire week, and I won't have to really reach it after this at all. So it's really worth it, especially if you wake up in your hair, looks like absolute poop, but you don't want to put it up in a bun or put it in the hairstyle, so guys, I'm really happy with how this went. I love these two products together. So guys there we have it. That is how I remove fresh, my curls in the morning. You liked this video make sure you go check out all of my other videos. I have a whole playlist on the curly hair, so make sure you check that out. If your curly go and you're needing some help and some advice on your curls and thank you so much for watching, if you like this video, give it a big thumbs up subscribe to my channel for more as your videos every single week, but almost at 100k. That is crazy, so yeah can't wait to get there with you guys. Thank you so much and bye

yassqueen777: 1. Section hair into two parts 2. Dampen one section with spray bottle 3. Brush out hair to remove tangles (Denman brush recommended) 4. Apply a hair smoothie, the amount depending on how much product is already in your hair 5. Using the Denman, pull small sections of your hair away from your scalp and twist it at the ends to create curls 6. Scrunch hair using a hair gel of choice (Though she uses DevaCurl i don’t advise anyone to use this brand!!) 6. Repeat on other side of head 7. Air dry or diffuse Voilà!

Olive: My goal in life is to have my curls look this good

Grazzia Dise-Carranza: How do you style your hair for sleep because my curls get completely ruined when I wake up

keepscrollin: Her day 2 curls are better than my freshly washed, finger coiled, covered with expensive products day one curls

Elise Mo: Just bought my brush and a spray bottle! I'm learning to finally accept and love my curls after so many years of trying to hide them.

deppresto: just starting on my curly boi journey. and i’ve always been so hesitant about brushing my hair even when it’s wet. even in the shower. i don’t know why it’s very irrational. but seeing you go in so comfortably makes me so happy. i’m brushing my hair when it’s wet and it’s really making some difference. thanks b

Kassandra Guzman: I thank you for your videos. I have straight ( no wave whatsoever) hair and my daughter has curly hair just like yours. You’ve made my life so much easier lol I had no clue how easy it was to style curly hair. You’re beautiful btw God bless you!

Denise Sahulata: Feel sooo happy to be a curly girl right now! thanks for the tips Jayme :)

Hema Singh: Guys when you’re detangling please work your way upwards from the ends of the hair. If you start from the roots and work your way down the tangles get much worse and you risk losing a lot of hair since you’ll be tugging on the roots. ☺️

Hiral: How are you not losing any hair! My brush would be full of hair if used one

Lindsey Mae: I use all of these products to style my hair. Love them so much. Gives me the best results

Mel: Wow, I was spraying my hair with water and putting product in, but I would’ve NEVER thought to brush the curls out and basically start over with the curling process! I’ve been doing it ALL wrong for decades! No wonder I hate my day 2 curls and lately I give up and basically wear it up. I have so much frizz on day 2. Your hair is BEAUTIFUL - I’m so happy I found your channel because I also have thin, 3 a/b curls and I can really use the tips! Thank you!

horohorosrin: I have 2b hair, I think? And this is the only video I've found that actually explains to me how I should be refreshing my hair in a way that makes sense and is workable to me. No wonder my hair looked like shit before lmao

Tess: This is how I refresh my hair! Glad I'm doing it right!

ee: what i suggest : 1. after washing it make sure it’s soaking wet 2. section it 2. apply a cream/smoothie then detangle using a wide tooth-comb 3. overlay it with a denman brush for definition 4. add a curly hair gel 5. diffuse it (optional) When going to bed make sure you have a silk or satin pillowcase and if you can afford it get silk or satin scrunchies

iBlueberry12: I have so much trouble keeping my curls defined I grew up with buzz cuts every month so I had no idea my hair was 3c until i personally decided to grow it out

Julkotte: Yes! This is something I can do for my 10 yo to eliminate that frizz!

Cristina Gandra: So when you took your hair out of the pony tail, I stopped everything and grabbed supplies to follow along because that is literally ME. Except my hair is copper wire, so I get that each time I put it up... I was just so convinced yours would not be in the same witch of the woods condition. Anyway, I did it. And it worked! No refresh has ever worked for me. Thank you! (and it was certainly MUCH faster than a full wash and diffuse) <3

MC: Finally, a refresh routine that works for me. Gosh

Danielle fernandes: I love my curly hair now thanks to you!

Concerned Geek: hey, since this is for your second day curls what would you do to refresh your third day curls? After you've done this the day before you start to have product build up; do you do a cowash with conditioner and rub in some tea tree oil onto your scalp like I do? My hair feels a little to oily when I do that. I've tried to do a conditioning cowash and then an apple cider vinegar rinse, but that also feel too oily. How do you make it through three or four days without washing?

Deanarys Dione: Omg thanks you saved my life , my curls , and my mom having to yell at me daily to take care of them . Thank you so much now I don't have to worry on how to hide them , but show them.

Account Account: Very important tip: when your brushing your hair start from the ends up to the top it makes the process verrry easier

Intan1998: Ily girl I always think my hair just isn’t that curly bc it’s gone the next day. In reality my hair is really thick and heavy and needs proper care. Glad I found you my curls are amazing right now

I hate Reiner: Since I started my curly hair journey I had this question in mind. Is it okay to refresh my hair everyday(my hair is 3a/2c)

Sofi 56: Thanks, for the tip. I was soo annoyed when my curls weren't curly after every morning. send love <3

I always have a little problem with my curls: I have 3 b curls and I always get them well styled, but unfortunately they are much less curly at the nape of the neck. therefore they do not look so nice and full in the internal area. especially the next morning! Do you have a hint for me?

Martina Minguella: Hiii. When I was little I had really short curly hair, and as it grew and I got older, I used to straighten it. I started asking for straight hair when I was 3. Now I'm kinda getting my curls back. I've done a big chop (cut out 45cm) and now I'm working on my curls. I have really big curls, like big diameter. The problem is, my whole family has straight hair and I don't know what to do with my hair. Can someone recommend me products or something? I'm really lost hahaha Thx

Assia EB: So I have 2a/3b curls and my hair is quite thick. My problem is that at the end of my hair I got a lot of curlsss but on the roots the curls are wavy and saggy. Does anyone know what I can do to create more volume and curls on top of my hair? I would REALLY appreciate it <3

Aalema Saiyed: Thank you I’m gonna try this method!!!!

Lindsey Giesen: "They are like two dollars from the dollar store" ICONIC!!!

Camille M.G: Have you removed any of the combs from your denman brush. And does it make a difference on your curls? I just bought my brush today.

Gracie Roberts: Do you have any tips on how to get a good curly cut? I feel like your stylist really knows your hair so well and can cut it in a way that gives you even more volume!

asbestos.: Anyone know how to make it voluminous again without having to pull it? Because I’m a guy with chin length curly hair but in the mornings it’s just all flat on the top of my head.

Sky Cook: I love your eyes and btw thanks this totally helped!

camila: Thank you so much this is so helpful

It'sAngie /: Can your “aunt” do a video with you how she cuts curly hair ? Honestly I’ve changed a lot of hairdressers and all they did with my hair is like with straight, I cannot get this volume as you do. Now I am asking her to do that videoo. Pleaseee ❤️

lara: How long does it take to diffuse??

Curl & Curly: Wow! I love this video so much

yikesaus: does anyone have some really good tips/methods for growing out curly hair as quickly as possible? i have about the same curl pattern as jayme and it's about shoulder length. i impulsively decided to revamp my layers myself for more volume a couple of weeks ago and of course it turned out awful i'm hoping to grow out the shorter layers and grow my whole hair out in general. i'm currently applying castor oil and massaging my scalp a bit about 30 minutes or more before washing my hair, but i'd like to gather some more primary source information and see what's worked best for other curly heads. responses are much appreciated!

Suga Yama: Can I wet, brush and mousse my curly hair every morning?

noemijamila: Finally a video where the girls hair doesn’t look perfect when refreshing.. all these other girls at like: “looks so baaad”.. I’m like: ….. Girl, you are way more relatable!!

Bavita Sharma: I have a question that might be silly but... why refresh with a spray bottle rather than just doing a conditioner wash in the shower or whatever? Is this just to preserve the natural oils of the hair or is it a convenience thing or? Just wondering haha

Ja D: you need to brush with the denman hold vertically!! that`s a game changer! it detangles better than any other brush that way!

earthling: That bun before you detangled looked cuuute

Rockie Smart: I love love love your curls they look great when did you start going natural Have You ever had any chemicals in your hair ??? What products do you recommend for getting those great curls

Shawdi R: Yo... brushing through your curls was insane. Like it slipped right through. Our hair is too different but your hair is gorgeous! I just have really course thick 3ab hair

ooo: Your hair even before refreshing looks good :( I look like a troll doll when I wake up even tho I have type 3 hair naturally. Theres way too much work with natural hair and I'm afraid to cut my hair short as I have SOOO much hair and it's so tiring and expensive to keep my hair up all the time...is there anyway I can keep my defined curls for atleast 2 days and not everyday?

luisa editing: THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED

Name Name: I love your hair color! It compliments your eyes! ❤

Butterfly Moon: Badly needed! Thanks!

leche: do you use heat protection before you diffuser your hair?

Kaitlin: Straya! Love your content. You are stunning!

Ayanna Holguin: Can you do a video on how you style your hair for your show hairstyle? I too need to put my hair in a bun pretty much every day and want to know how do you do it without flyaways or hairs frizzing and curling out and also how to prevent breakage of the hair from putting it back so much. Thanks
