Before the basketball games, I would go into the locker room. I would set up my extensions and cut them out and start gluing on them, and my coach would be like keto. What are you doing like it's? A basketball game, I'm like no, I have to lick the part I am Meg scoop. My name is keita. My name is treasure Cooper. My name is jazz and this is my curl fashion. A traumatic experience involving my curly hair actually happened. Last month I had such a long day. It was actually a really long week and then that was the longest day of my week, and I wasn't really thinking my head was everywhere and I was with a friend. We were hanging out doing vision boards. We had some candles, we had a whole ambiance, I reached over the candle without paying attention - and all I heard was this really aggressive Sizzle. It sounded like someone was frying chicken like, but if I would, if there were 10 of me doing that sound, that's what it sounded like like there were pops too, and I looked down and I see smoke and then I see red flames, and I was like I froze I was like what the hell and I'm in my friend's house, and so I'm like. Oh my God, if I run, is his house gon na catch on fire like what's gon na happen, and so luckily he was there because he was like. Oh, my God Treasures your hair on fire and he starts patting me and I'm glad he was there, because I didn't know that you're not supposed to put water if your hair catches on fire, and that was going to be the first thing I did like in My mind I was running to the kitchen sink to put my hair and he was like I'm so glad that you didn't put water on it because that's what makes it spread in my mind, I'm like I'm glad you were here to tell me that, because I Would have been out here looking like Cynthia the doll like and if you look closely you could kind of see, I mean it's up right now, so you can't really tell, but you could kind of see which side it is because it's just a little more full Because half of it was burned off even without hair, you shouldn't be leaning over a candle, and I did it's just like be present, be aware. So a traumatic experience with my hair was when I was young playing basketball. I used to want to have like little straight strands and since I didn't have it because my hair was really curly and short before the basketball games, I would go into the locker room. I would set up my extensions and cut them out and start gluing on them, and my coach would be like keto. What are you doing like it's a basketball game, I'm like no. I have to look the part crazy because it's like you could easily just anyone. Could just wrap them out and I was just like so confident like. I need these straight strands. Nothing ever happened. Luckily, the fact that I would like glue in little tiny extensions just to like fit in a certain way. It'S just crazy to me. I got the extensions for my mom. She was beautician growing up. She had a whole hair shop, so we would always do our hair different type of styles. Braids weaves, you name it all over. The extensions were straight, so we always wore straight hair growing up. Never really had my curly hair out was not confident to even have the curlies out yeah there's. Definitely some cringy moments back in high school, okay. So this one time I went to the salon and I wanted them to do kind of like I wanted some kind of style with my curly hair, but I grew up in Kentucky and I didn't know it's. Like my first experience, I went to like Great Clips. Okay, because I was like Hey Great Clips - is here: they do hair, don't they I have hair, they do hair. This should be easy. I just thought the lady was just gon na. Do some cute little Style? No, she bust out the curling iron to straighten my hair. First of all, I didn't ask for straight hair. Secondly, curling irons, don't straighten your hair like that's not what this is, so I ended up leaving there looking a hot mess. My hair was like it looked like she just brushed my curls out and was like good. I had spent all this money for my hair to look terrible. I was like I don't understand what I'm supposed to do. Who knows how to do curly hair because growing up nobody? Really, there wasn't salons dedicated there, weren't products dedicated to curly hair, you just kind of had to figure it out, and even now there's some stylists who don't know how to do curly hair. So that was traumatic, but that also started the journey for me to find out what worked on my own, which was great because now, instead of relying on somebody else to tell me how my hair should look, I was able to tell them no use that use That use that - and that is great because that built the confidence for me to you, know be more vocal when it came to to doing my hair at a salon. I would suggest you avoid any place that does not know your hair specifically. Now there could be some bomb woman who knows curly, hair Great Clips, I'm not talking about juices you're great keep doing what you're doing, but if the person doesn't know how to do your hair, then you really just yeah yeah. You got ta just keep it moving, because you know the beauty of your hair shouldn't go away because somebody doesn't know how to do it. This goes back to my teenager years. When I wanted to highlight my hair, I always wanted to have like colored hair, and you know my mom wouldn't take me to the salon to do it, because I was still young. So there was this product which I think a lot of people know about, is called Sonnen. Do you hear right leg channel's the softness, the super flare, a new natural lemon puts down in your hair a little Spritz a lot of bad ingredients, peroxide lemon, whatever you just to highlight, and your hair from the Sun. So you spray it on and it highlights your hair, but the bad side about that. Is you get a lot of friends, so I could not wear my hair out naturally, because it would be so frizzy so that product caused a lot of damage it lightened. My hair and it liked it, it looked nice, but still not a good choice. I stopped using sun in when I noticed that my hair was just getting super brittle dried and it just wasn't. Curling, the same so when I saw that I was like I'm over this and I stopped using it, but now professionally I get my hair highlighted. My name is treasure Cooper. My name is jazz. I'M Kita, I am Meg scoop and this is my curl fashion. Follow curly culture follow curly culture. I could say this: why am I that is the time? Why is a tongue twister? Hey you guys?
