DISCLAIMER: A portion of today's video was made in partnership with Tangle Teezer. As always, all opinions are always honest and my own. The description may also contain affiliate links. This helps support the channel and allows us to continue to make videos like this. Thank you for your support!

If you are going back to school work, getting ready to twerk keep watching this video, because it's the most wonderful time not quite stem commercials. What'S good everybody, it's your main girl, mel back at it again with some hairstyles that are going to be perfect for when you are short on time, because maybe you slept through your alarm because i've been there too and i'm needing a little refresh. So i feel super cute, so without further ado, let's get styling. Let'S first go over some things you will need now. You will not need these necessarily in your book bag, but do keep them in your bathroom, especially if you're into styling, because some of these are going to make your styling so much easier in the morning afternoon, good night number one, i keep a teasing comb. This is the tangle, teaser ultimate teaser, where i can use it to create nice defined parts which we will be doing. There was a hair as well as volume, but do not let this scare you teasing on curly hair can be done. The right way and i'll show you how i'm also keeping the ultimate finisher around this is going to be really good for smoothing and defining some hairstyles, maybe brushing through looks, i won't be brushing through my curls today, we're not in the 80s. The 90s 2000s wait for it. I prefer my curls to be nice and defined. I actually styled using my tangle, teaser ultimate detangler, which is my usual routine. So this is now day three - and this is the perfect year to work with to renew and make cute, because the last thing that i'm gon na do is wake up early to give myself shampoo wash condition. I do not have the time, but what i will keep by is some dry conditioner, some serum, absolutely uh. A spray bottle will be helpful. A pomade for slicking. All of these things are going to set us on the right track for morning styling. So damn it. Let'S start it shall we the way i have this hanging on my finger. Look at that cause. This thing is heavy. This spray bottle holds the most amount of water i have experienced in a spray bottle. Is the tangle, teezer, continuous, fine mist spray bottle? It'S so oily refreshing. Now i'm awake now you can choose to wake up your curls with some water, but personally i don't like to wet down my curls when i'm refreshing, because i don't want to re-wet them and restyle them and then have to wait for them to dry. I like to use a dry conditioner to refresh and wake up the curls. This is going to help to add conditioning softness, also some good smell. It'S like dry shampoo, but it's dry, conditioner and, as we know when our hair is conditioned, it's not as frizzy honestly. I describe the feeling like it's like fabric softener, on your hair, like it just makes it feel a million times better. If you check out the side by side, this feels way less dry and not heavier greasy either. Now the way i approach restyling, my hair into a hairstyle, is by looking for solutions, so i look at where my trouble areas are. If i'm noticing, i have a lot of frizzies around my face as flat as it usually gets, i will put my hair in my go-to hairstyle. I'M gon na need one of these, the bigger the better when it comes to your scrunchie. Now i did this in high school all the time minus the scrunchie. Actually there was a point in time where they were no longer cool but they're fully back now i used to always do my half up half down and i called it my jordan sparks ponytail. If you don't know who jordan sparks is there's no there's no air in this room, so anyways yeah? If you don't know who jordan sparks, is she's too young for you bro. If you don't know who jordan sparks is well, it's understandable because there's a good chance that, if you're watching this video, you are probably too young or weren't even born to remember the late 90s and early 2000s, also known as y2k now. This is both unfortunate, but also fortunate for you, because some of the trends back then were a little bit questionable, but a lot of those trends have come back, the good ones, at least, and that's what i'm here to show you now, i'm just using the ultimate Teaser, hair brush to get a little bit of volume, especially as most of our layers, are on the top of our head. If you feel like under here, gets a little bit flat, i would take a teasing brush now. This one's got extra long, teeth, extra long teeth within little short little teeth in there, but how i like to use this, is you want to be strategic in grabbing your sections? I like to go from underneath and just gentle strokes from starting from like a couple inches down from the from the roots, gentle strokes up, and it's really going to fluff out that root and give you a ton of volume without disturbing the curls. On the end and the star of the show here is my curtain bangs, which are timeless. They are extra curly this morning. Sometimes i just wake up like that. I usually just let them work themselves out, but i can also set them in place using some like prong clips. If i really wanted them to stay in a place, i pinned them down. While i continued to get ready and bada bing, you have got level zero, hard hairstyles, while solving the issue of you know flat sides around your face and back here this is a classic hairstyle super cute that we can also elevate by changing up the bangs. So back in the day we used to do the the bump it it was a bump. It was the volume here and oh my did. I wear this all the time volume up here is very much coming back, because it helps to kind of lift the face. It'S also going to keep your bangs out of the way so that you're not focusing and playing on them, they're, not disturbing you, while we're learning, so i will just grab the section between my temples and kind of poof. It like this. If you're not feeling like you have enough volume, just by placing it poofed, then don't be afraid to tease it a little bit. I like to give it a tiny twist, because that's going to help to secure the hair and make sure that it's going to be easier to bobby, pin in place crisscrossing your bobby pins will make sure that they don't go anywhere now to really finish this style. I'M going to use the ultimate finisher hair brush and we are going to slick the sides, i'm also going to apply a little bit of a hair pomade. This is like a wax, but it's a little bit more shiny. It'S going to give a little bit more of a sleek finish, so i just take some pomade and i melt it between my hands and i slick. The sides that are currently being held up by my hair tie kept the sections clean. I'M going to take my brush, i use the tangle teaser ultimate finisher, to make sure that i can catch every single hair. This brush has so many teeth and it gets a really good grip on the hair. For smoothing, because at the base of the teeth you can see that they actually widen, this makes sure that it grips every single hair. While you are brushing and smoothing and setting your hair into place to ultimately finish it just going to take a little bit more pomade to kind of smooth down any of the frizzies that are around my hairline and this style would be perfect. If i didn't have this massive bump right here, using the tail of your teaser comb, just stick it right into where you have that bulge and lift up. This is difficult to do without a mirror good as new bulge wear no bumps here now. While this looks fab from the front, i just want to give you a tip for the back. If you are looking a little bit frizzy or maybe a little bit flat, i would take my teaser brush as well and just make sure that i get right in here. The crown area just needs a little bit and i would take some serum to add some finishing shine and tame some frizz and that's it. So cute literally takes less than five minutes and i can show you one more variation since we are trying to emulate the y2k era. While we're here watch how i am taking this hair tie out, i'm going the opposite way that i put it in. Instead of trying to yank it out of my head very very gently unraveling, it no hairs were harmed so back then, and now it was very popular to rock a side parting. We were all about the swoop, but i don't want bangs that hang we're going to sleek them to the side, i'm going to use a little bit of water for this style just to re-dampen, just where we are going to be restyling. So i don't need to wet the whole head. Don'T need to wet everything just right in my bangs, and this is where this is going to come super handy. This is the best tool to create clean partings. We don't want messy parts that look like this. We want sleek sharp, where you can either do straight, but to be really 90s, they used to do a little zigzag. The diagonal parting would make sure that you keep volume on both sides, so you didn't have like a comb over effect, while still getting the side. Bang to lay well so this is one way to do it, but i'm going to do my own little twist on it and using the tail i'm going to draw a half circle, really pressing right against my scalp and then separating the hair on both sides of The comb just like that. I love the curve i feel like it goes well, because i've got curls. Now i'm going to take my ultimate finisher and smooth that hair. It really grips the hair to really smooth it down and i can be super nostalgic and set it in place with some of these clips. But i will make sure to secure it behind my ear, with a bobby pin or 12. back with that crisscross to really hold it in place. I'Ll repeat this: on the other side, boom boom, bang bang look at the bangs. Look at the she's not going anywhere make sure you do a shake test before you go and if you get a little frizzy up here, as i tend to just continue using a little bit of pomade pomade is so great because it's not going to leave your Hair super crunchy, but it does help to sleek and mold the hair. How you want it to be shaped - and this is the classic side - bang that you can also wear so many different ways. This looks super cute in a ponytail, a high bun, perhaps or maybe two like what in the curly lizzie mcguire. Is this it's really really cute, but look if you don't like how your curls look here, you can always just continue twisting them and tucking them around. Like that now i love these hairstyles, because you can really camouflage a bad hair day and make it something new, make it something cute with truly minimal effort that will last you all day, keep your hair out of your face. So you are ready for learning and a little extra beauty sleep. Am i right if you like today's video and the hairstyles that i shared do give this video a thumbs up, because then i will share more hairstyle ideas, tips and tricks with you. Excuse me, i'm getting ready i'll put some mascara on top of my eyes a little bit your girl's, tired, she's, tired of let's go back to school back to school back to school. If you're late like i do, you might be running for the bus or you might have to stand in the hallway in the middle of the anthem, because you were on your way to class, but you didn't quite make it back to school. Okay. Why did it look like? I have like a little widow's peak here. The way these curls are curling, i am between you and me. This is day three i have been outdoors and my hair still smells chef's, i'm hungry

Manes by Mell: Hi everybody ❤️ we missed you so much, more than you know. It’s been a sad and quiet few weeks but we’re excited to kick off the weekend with you and a brand new video ❤️ happy Friday and as always, thanks for watching and being here with us xoxo, Mell

snowflakes215: You crack me up Mell! While I am sure some of your followers are young please don't forget us older ladies! Can you please make a video for more professional hair styles? I do love these styles and they are so cute I just don't know if I can rock them in a professional setting...I don't want people laughing at me more than they probably do ;) Thanks!

Amy Estrada: I’m an 80’s girl and my curls are finally back in style. It only took 40 years!!

Sophia Aloeristok: You seesters amaze me. You didnt need to put out a video this week but you still did for us. We love you so much and support you always ❤️❤️

Cheryl Arthur: Would love to see styles for women in their 40’s and 50’s We follow you too!!! ❤️

chickensrulex10: Though I rarely leave Youtube comments, I wanted to remind you of what incredible work you do, Mel! I only mention how I don't comment much on Youtube to emphasize the epiphany-like quality of my recent recognition of just how deeply inspiring your presence on Youtube has been to me through the years. I have followed you since 2017, and throughout this time your videos have not only helped me enhance my hair routines, but have also encouraged me to embrace my natural beauty. Your confidence and humor radiates, implicitly encouraging viewers to embrace all hair days with an approach of joy, acceptance, laughter and love. This is an important message for someone who grew up wishing her curly hair was straight due to a lack of exposure for an informed curl care regimen, as well as pressures from a mainstream cultural standard that rejected natural curls. As you know, my personal experience is unfortunately quite common in our curly-haired community. I recall it to highlight just how transformative and empowering the approach you model in the content you create has been for myself and countless others. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Queen Mama Mel! <3 xo

Mlala: I think I love hairstyle videos the most. After years of looking up "curly hairstyles" and only facing heatcurled heads... Finally I have caveats to experiment from!! Hairstyles can really switch the vibe of an entire look up. Thank you

MinuteMaid92: I loved this video! I too am a 90s kid and always love reminiscing about the 90s, especially the fashion. The half up half down has always been my go to hairstyle for a refresh. Thank you for taking the time to post this video despite your current grief and struggles. You and your sister are amazing. Lean on each other through this. Lots of love and prayers for you guys and your family.

Jorge Luis: The way you make this all look so effortless is AMAZING! Jeez I wish I could have my curly hair looking this great and able to style this easy

Elizabeth Montoya: I love your videos!! Recently got the hairs cut and I'm trying to figure out how to get them to their full potential. I tired the pineapple today and I'm not too confident in it but I'm rocking it anyways! Keep doin your thang girl love it

A.M.J: Lovely video. Personally I can't pull most of these off, mostly because my hair is super long + scalp is so sensitive these days. I can't handle tying it up or clipping anything into it, especially at my front section/bangs! But I think my short haired curly friend would like some of these. Take care seesters <3

yea yea: You shine so brightly, I love your enthusiasm!!!

Tammy Leigh: Mell!! Your so freaking pretty!! Absolutely love ALL of those hair styles couldn't chose a favourite! But that little sleek situation with the mini side buns and clips!... GORGEOUS!! Ps hope you and Amanda are feeling better, sorry for the situation, life is rough sometimes, sending you guys loads of love ❤

Bethn921: These are great! Thanks so much, my daughter has curly hair and her satin bonnet will not stay on her head at night. We are left trying to camouflage the matting at the back of her head some days. This gave us some ideas besides a ponytail! :)

Deanna: So lovely to see your face!! You seesters amaze me!!! You didn't need to put out a video but you did for us so thank you!! such a true inspiration!! Much love and happiness xoxo

Yoshi: so happy you're back! I would also like more professional hair styles that will really hold. I'm a flight attendant so the struggle is real especially because of all the different climates I face on the daily

Collymotion: This is great! Would love to see some styles for curly guys from a professional like you as well! Especially for day 3+ or the gym.

Sarah P: I'm so happy to see how you use the teezer comb, I recently received it and was confused how to use it on my wavy/curly hair!

Jazz: sending you and your family so much love❤️

Addie Nieto: Love these styles & the Tangle Teezer is my fave detangling brush! Don’t leave home without it Again, I’m sorry for your loss❤️ hugs to you & your family❤️❤️

Christina: We appreciate you so much! Love the hairstyles! Definitely missed you, but hope you take all the time you need. ❤️

Hilda Figueroa: Thank you again Mel for your curl style tips. God bless you always ❤

therickylover106: Hello Mell. So happy to see you back! I missed you. Excited to see this 'one product' reveal. To add to your growing list of suggestions, would you please do a video comparison on regular hairdryers? For those of us who only dream about the Dyson.

Jenn Leah: The 1st continuous spray bottle I had was from Sally's and that biotch held 16 ounces of water! At 1st I was like "this is cool! Seems bigger than others I've seen on YouTube!" But after a few months I was more like "this shit is heavy and I'm only filling it about 15% full" Then I bought a smaller one that's still nicely sized, I think it holds 6 oz

Lynzi Collins: Happy Friday!! I hope you are all ok. You are both amazing, working so hard as always! Love you both so much ❤️❤️❤️

Larissa Nunes: Now my question is: how do you fix your hair the next day after you style it like the last ones? Lol. As a wavy, my hair would be full of marks lol

Mika Campos: Could y’all do a video on how to style curly hair that has both waves and really curly hair that’s mixed like mine has some waves then other parts are super super curly! Can never find the right technique that’s has two types of curls mixed! ❤️

shaylarz: Sending much love to you and Amanda. You're so very appreciated here on the YouTubes. Take care of yourselves ❤️

Vanessa Wecker: Mell, I love you, your seester and your videos so so much!! Thanks to you I learned so much about my curly hair!! Greetings from Germany! ♥️

Kristina Drewnowski: Missed you Ma'am as well! You Seesters really are a ray of light on hard times and I'm glad we could be for you as well! ❤

Rachel Rudi: Wondering if anyone has advice! My hair's a lot like Mell's, but when I do the half up/half down, that middle layer she mentions at 4:23 and 5:30 stick out like a Christmas tree. I've tried making those layers shorter and longer, but can't get rid of that shape. How can I cut it to best avoid it without using styling tools? Help?!

Faith_9: I'd like to see some styles for mature women, please.

Tina Adams: I really enjoyed this video! More of this please.

Emily: You have me feeling some things about my teen years & they’re not bad. What about some of the stretch tooth headbands? You can do a bunch of looks with them. They look scary but are a quick way to get volume. I used them all the time. If you really want the authentic 90s pouff/bump, grab one of those barettes that has the clip that springs open on one side. It’s perfect. After you clip it in, slide it forward while holding the side pieces in place. It makes a natural bump while being super secure. I can still do those in my sleep. One of my besties is still the queen of those. Thank you for not bringing back The Rachel. So many hours with a round brush.

Nives Corazza: What an absolutely wonderful surprise ❤️❤️

Maria Kadas: Glad to see you back, we missed you! Hope you and your family are well!

Nydia M: When you said Jordan Sparks I started singing no air!! What in the curly Lizzie McGuire had me cracking up! Thanks Mell! Even though I don’t go to school anymore

Minna Uyeda: Your hair has grown so long, so quickly. Love all the looks, and that magic tip of using the tip of the comb for the bumps....genius. I have to get that new brush. Thanks for the great styles. Can you give tips on the best color for richer fall color without dry damage?

Louise Fry: You are so funny Mel! Absolutely love watching your videos

Veronica Nevado: Wow we had the same sort of hair styles in high school thanks for this good flash back❤️

Mayela: Welcomw back! Hope you and your family are doing well Can't wait to watch!

Bree White: Yes Ma’am such cuteness overload Hope you all are well.

Chana Kreuter: I just cut over 8 inches to donate and my hair curled up even shorter than I expected (definitely the shortest it's ever been) - I'd love you to do a video for shorter curly hair looks, especially if it could address people with softer curls (like 3a).

sccorde: So lovely to see your face, and a smile on it nonetheless love you seesters. You are a true inspiration

Serina Balderrama: It’s so good to see you back Jordan sparks used to go to my grandmas church! Her grandma was friends with my grandma :)

Evelyn Renee: I did these hairstyles in the early 2000s through middle and high school. It's interesting to see these become popular again

Ciara Rozet: We’re all here for you guys! We love you so much!

elizabethdalloway: Loved these! I would like to see more hairstyles ideas to get my hair off my neck, cause it makes me super hot!

aya rebwar: I started my curly journey this summer cause of summer I only put my hair down And damp style it But it have been a week school started and didn't know what to do with my hair this is amazing

Stacy Harvey: You and your seester are so beautiful, do you ever *really* have a bad hair day? As a wavy, I can only dream that my day 3 hair could be as cute as yours!

Stephanie: So glad y’all are back! Missed ya ladies

Ambar González: Love the hairstyles! I hope you guys are doing better!!

Brenda B: How do you sleep at might to keep your curls in tact? My daughter has tight coils curls and refuses to wrap her head. Puts it into a pony tail on top of her head and seems to flatten her hair by morning.

Terri Brooks: So glad to see you again. Thoughts are with you seesters and you are both well wishes. Xx thank you for another great video.

Terri Brooks: So glad to see you again. Thoughts are with you seesters and you are both well wishes. Xx thank you for another great video.

Aliaa Rafat: Hi Mell thanks so much for your effort and very helpfull content... I just have a question that it is buthering me alot ....is oils effects the color of the bleached hair?? I heard this from my hair stylists but my hair loves oils such as olive and castor oil I feel that I cannot live without them and also I love to bleach my hair .... I would appreciate your kind help.. Thank you so much inadvance

Caitlyn Martin: Hey Mell!!! I have a quick question…. I have 3cish/4aish hair that is almost bra strap length when straight. And I realllllly want curtain bangs for when my hair is straight. Like, I want the longer ones rather than the shorter ones so that my hair doesn’t look odd when it is curly. Is there a way I could have longish curtain bangs when my hair is straight, but have just regular looking curly bangs when it is natural? Do you have any tips? I’m so sorry if that was confusing

Yarielis Roca: You have saved me so much time when I am doing my hair

Dee Silver: Loving the 90s vibes

Linda Koberna: I used that metal clip that you used to lift my roots and it left a crease in my hair. Any suggestions?

Donna Seymour Stapleton: I cant imagine having all that stuff. I just nought a few things including a coconut hair oil or whatever to help make it shiny sleek etc buuut idt id ever have the time\energy\patience to put in using all the diff products. Jackie Carmody: That side part is the reason why some of my hair doesn’t grow on one side of my head

jamba jackson: Girl you are really pretty do you like wearing your hair in a ponytail or a bun I like both of those styles with a spongy and sometimes half up half down with a clip my favorite is down with the hair tucked perfectly behind both ears do you like any of those hairstyles

Angie CT: "What in the curly Lizzie McGuire" my 18 yr old's head popped out and looked at the video questioning.
