Hey guys welcome back to my channel, my name is Kelly and in today's video I'm gon na show you guys what I do to get my hair to look a little bit thicker and a little bit fuller than it naturally is. I already made a video called my secret weapons for volume and in that video I kind of showed you the products that I use to get my hair to look bigger and more voluminous. So if you haven't seen that make sure you go watch that video I'm gon na leave the little info link above because I feel like that video goes hand-in-hand with what I'm gon na talk about in this video, so yeah. My hair is naturally fine and texture. Um fine to medium, so I guess average it's not thin at all, but it's definitely not thick. The funny thing is I've. Had a lot of people tell me: oh my gosh, you have so much hair and of course that's what my hair is big and curly, and I actually tell them no, not really. I don't have a lot of hair. I just know how to manage it to make it look a little bit more full and I've had a lot of comments from people who have similar hair textures to mine, or even people who have thinner hair, and they ask me how do I get volume so, Hopefully, these tips can help you guys so yeah. If you want to see what I do to get my hair to look a little bit, thicker then just keep watching. Ok, so I'm starting off on freshly washed hair, it's still wet, as you can see, and what I'm going to use first is my Aveda thickening tonic. Now I use this product in my volume, video that I just mentioned. So I didn't really show you how I use it. I just talked about it, so I want to show you the products that I use and how I use it to get my hair to look fuller. So this thickening tonic is a legit. It works it's expensive. I will say that, but, as you can see well, maybe you can't see, but I am on the very bottom, which makes me so sad, but that tells you how much I love this stuff and how much I use it. So what I'm gon na do is just spray it all over my hair. Okay, now I'm using my handy dandy, Denman brush, and this is to help distribute everything that I just sprayed. I want to make sure that I get all of my hair covered with a thickening tonic, so the brush helps to do that. Okay, so for the next step. I don't always do this, but I usually do it when I want my hair to look significantly fuller or bigger. So what I'm gon na do is part my hair, starting from my ears and then going up, and what I'm gon na do with this section is bring it forward. So I'm going to, as you can see, you can use a comb as well. I don't have a rat tail comb, so I kind of just either use this or my fingers, so you want to get the hair even behind your ears and I'm gon na use my Denman brush to help bring it forward. The reason that I bring this part of my hair forward is because it directs my roots to kind of go in the opposite direction that they're normally going so I'm gon na style, my hair with my hair brought forward, but once it's fully dry, I'm gon na Put it back, it's gon na be lifted and it's gon na be much more voluminous, because you know my roots aren't drying downward, they're drying upward, and this helps especially if you have bangs, I have bangs, so I'm gon na have some nice fringe around my face. If you don't have bangs, that's totally okay, you can still do this, but once your hair is dry, you're, just gon na have to you know, part it on the side or part it in the middle or whatever, but it's still gon na be very big. Okay, so now I have my hair directed to the front. For the most part, the line doesn't have to be perfect by the way it could look messy, it's okay, the back section, is fine. It'S just doing its thing going backwards. Okay! So now I'm just gon na clip up this front section here. The next product I'm gon na use on my hair, is diva, curls believe in miracle curl plumper. If you watch my videos, you already know I love this thing. I talk about it in a lot of my videos, and this is also in my volume, video and I use this especially on days where I want my hair to look fuller, because it really does what it says it does it's for added, texture and volume. It really does plump up my curls and makes them look big and fluffy kind of full, and I put it before any other styling products, because, even though this is a gel consistency, it's not me to hold your hair on its own cuz. I'Ve tried it before in the very beginning and it has no type of hold, but it's not meant for that. It'S not meant to have, you know, hold it's meant to make your hair big and voluminous, and that's exactly what it does. So I will start putting that on my hair, so I take a nice little blob of it and I'm just gon na distribute that to I'll put this down. So all parts of my hair, this style looks crazy. Okay, now that I have that done, I'm gon na move on to the next product and I'm gon na use a very little bit of up-north Naturals curl ease styling lotion, and I really like this I'm styling lotion, because it's so light. It'S like the lightest cream. I own I like to use a little bit of cream when styling my hair, because I feel like it adds more moisture than when I just used gels alone. So I like this because, like I said, super super lightweight and it has natural ingredients. Like rose water, aloe and grapeseed oil, and I feel like that, helps to soften my hair as well. When I'm going for this fuller look, I don't want to put too much creams in it or even heavier creams, thicker creams, because that could weigh my hair down. So I'm gon na use a little bit of this. I just did three pumps and you can see how light it is like you can't even see it on my hands, so I'm gon na add this in especially on my ends. Now that that's in the next item I'm gon na use on my hair is diva curls ultra defining gel you guys should already know by now. This is one of my favorite gels like ever. This is top ten for me, like. I trust this gel because I feel like it never gives me a bad hair day. So if I want a specific look, I kind of go to this gel now, don't get me wrong! You don't have to use this gel. You don't have to use the exact products I'm using, except this. If your hair is fine, I would say to definitely use this, but ask for the gel and the cream. You don't have to use these specific on products. They just help me, but the technique and the regimen is something that I would suggest. So you can try it with different products and see what works best for you anyways. So now I'm going to use some of the gel, but here's what I'm gon na do for the front section. I'M going to rub the gel together in my hands. Put it in my hair while directing it forward, and what I want to do with the gel is to finger coil some of the top section of my hair, because if I don't, then my hair would kind of dry up too flat up here. So I want to do some finger coils to help define the curls and I'll. Just to this. You know around the front section: okay, now that I added the diva curl, defining gel all over my hair. Now I'm going to scrunch and at this point, if you're noticing your hair is getting a little dry as your styling make sure to add water, because you want your hair to be very wet when styling, so I'm gon na add a little bit of water. To my hair, because I feel like see this section is already starting to dry now, once I'm done scrunching, I'm going to use my microfiber towel to scrunch a little bit more and kind of just help absorb the excess of water and now it's time to diffuse Hope so I'm gon na diffuse, my hair until it's dry and of course, when you're diffusing make sure you're flipping your hair upside down from side to side. You don't want your roots to stay one straightway, because that's how it's gon na look flat. So you kind of want it to go back and forth like that, so it could stay on elevated and voluminous okay. My hair is finally dry took long enough. Now I'm gon na separate the big thick curls that clump together during the styling process by separating your curls, it helps them look a lot fuller. So my hair is looking good. It'S pretty much a dry, but we're not finished yet. If you have bangs, you want to bring them forward. I just got mine trimmed. Actually, that's why they are a little bit short. So now, I'm gon na take my pick turn my hair upside down and fluff it out. Now I'm gon na fluff out the bottom part of my hair, so I learned this trick from Sara angular Angie's. I don't know how to say her name but she's like super popular on Instagram and YouTube. She does really cute hairstyles and her curl pattern is actually pretty similar to mine, so I saw her do this. I went to her videos and I was like wow. I'Ve never even thought to try this, but I've done it a few times and I like the way it looks so what she does is takes the pic and puts it to the bottom part of her hair. So I'll just take a little section like this. She puts it through and then lifts up and then kind of just keeps doing that, and it really does make the hair look more. Full and thicker. So I'll show you and if you can't tell already definitely not going for the super defined look. I always prefer volume over definition. If I had to choose okay, so you see the difference. Look at this side versus this side, so this is definitely a trick that I do that. I think works for sure if you have fine, hair or medium textured hair, and you want your hair to look thicker. It'S pretty much just teasing your hair going upward. So there's that side and now I'm gon na, do this side and you don't want to be too rough cuz. You don't want to like ruin your curls or anything like that, but just a little bit of fluffing. Okay, then I shake it out a little bit with my fingers. Now, I'm almost finished not yet so. Finally, the last thing that I'm putting in my hair is AG hair cares, dry, lift and dry. Lift. This is a texture and volume paste. I also talked about this. I talked about pretty much almost everything that I use today in my volume video, but you know this. Video is talking about specifically the technique and how I use them so anyway, I'm gon na take a little bit of this paste. So what I do is rub it between my fingers and now I'm going to add this to my crown area, where I want volume to be so because I already picked out my hair. It is lifted, so the paste is just gon na help, keep it there and keep it that way. So I'm just massaging it into my roots, okay guys, so this is pretty much it. This is what I do to my hair when I want it to look bigger and fuller and thicker than it normally does, and if you have fine, hair or even thin hair. These techniques can definitely help you and the products too. And, of course, if you have layers that would definitely help in making your hair look more full. If you don't, then it'll kind of just be all one length. Unless your hair is naturally thick, then you don't even need these tips, but if it's not, then you definitely want to get some layers like in your crown area, because that helps you know, lift it. So yeah don't forget to subscribe to my channel for more videos. If you have any other suggestions on videos that I should make, let me know in the comments below thank you guys so much for watching. Don'T forget to give this video a big thumbs up if you liked it feel free to leave a comment below if you've tried these products before or if you plan on trying them and plan on trying this technique. Brittanie Stow: I’ve got a gorgeous curl pattern!! Thank you for this video! I’ll definitely try your product and technique(s). I couldn’t make it without rusk blofoam. It’s an amazing rootlifter!! I also got a missing spray bottle to re-wet my hair and it’s perfect! Check blofoam and a misting bottle out, you won’t regret it.

Crystal Cobert: I just recently found your channel and I love watching all your videos!!! My hair is very long and I’m really struggling with my curl pattern and of course volume. I’m in this phase of trying to get it curly as possible, accepting my hair and sticking with it since I’ve always kinda straightened it. I really had no idea what to do with it and how to maintain but watching your videos has helped me so much. I just purchased some devacurl products and I been testing it out, seeing what works best for me. You’re so incredibly gorgeous and give me such Beyoncé vibes lol. Again love your videos and can’t want to see the next one ☺️❤️

Maree: I’ve never seen someone with the same hair curl pattern as me And omg you make me wanna start leaving my hair natural again !

Meggie Crane: I just want to thank you for this tutorial. I have naturally curly hair which is very fine and sparse around my face. As a result I straighten my hair but have become concerned about the lasting damage that it’s causing. I used your method this morning and am so happy with the results, it’s so great to wear my hair curly and being pleased with the results! Thank you

Vanilla and Zag: Thank you SO much for this. I was so skeptical to put so many products in my hair, because stylists always say not to. But I tried it since I already had almost everything you used and followed your directions religiousu. My curl pattern is different than yours (looser, more boticelli curls), but yowza, this really works and adds a ton of volume! Plus. my hair feels soft and not crunchy. Thank you again. one121only: After watching this video yesterday, I got the Aveda thickening tonic and used it today. I also ended up buying Aveda curly hair enhancer. I can’t say my hair look thicker but my curls are so defined. I am still in need of volume and to keep my roof from looking flat. So I think I’ll need to cut more layers.

StarsInAJar: This is lovely! I have the same hair texture and I never know what to do to my wreck of a lion’s mane. Super helpful! ❤️

amc: So many helpful tips - can’t wait to try. Thank you !!

katherynne: That Aveda tonic has been my lifesaver situation for YEARS! It is so expensive but so worth it, especially for people with really fine and thin hair, which I have. I can't use nearly that much of the B'Leave in, though -- it makes the hair greasy for me! I am totally gonna try some of these techniques. My curl pattern is looser than yours so we'll see if it will hold up to that much manipulation :D

kaydiekay: I know this is a few years old, but we have the same hair and now I’m so excited to try all of this out and look amazing ❤️

Joli Pixy: I have fine/thin hair too and it's so difficult for me to get volume I love your videos! I was wondering, what diffuser/dryer do you use and recommend? I have a bunch of blow dryers but no diffuser and I'm not sure which one to get.

Kristin Paulse: Omg this helped SO much! Just tried this. My hair looks so good! Thank you!!!!

Ana T: We have the same exact hair! I totally get you on the wanting more volume. I’m so glad you mentioned that the Diva Curl B’Leave-in is not a product that has hold because I bought it and was so disappointed that it didn’t work on its own. Now I know how to use it. Thanks!

aaliyah: thank you so much for this! we have the same curl pattern but my hair got thinner overtime I’ve figured out that I used too much product and it weighed my hair down a lot because of this video!!! thank you so much for the technique’s! definitely buying the spray and the pick when I get paid next month, and using this technique at my next wash day I’ll keep you updated:) you’ve earned a new subscriber!!

Shanoiya Love: girlll this is magic, thanks for the tips!❤️

Aisha Maryla Rodriguez: OMG!!! Your hair is so beautiful!!! My hair looks so similar to yours wet, but NEVER dries like that! Definitely going to try these techniques and products! Is there anything you do to avoid frizz? My hair gets really frizzy after diffusing, where I can't even pick my hair.

Monica Cuellar: Love this! Great tips can't wait to try it out!!

Chitra Varghese: Hey Kelly. Such an informative video. I have thin hair too and was curious about the thickening tonic. Do you use it only after a wash?

Nicole Barrett: I have the exact same hair texture and suffer from flat hair, will 100% be getting the thickening tonic and using your techniques! thank you!

Amy Jo: Your hair is to die for!!! Absolutely stunning!

Emma Hedderly: My curls are just annoying. I've never damaged my hair, I only straighten it maybe twice a year and I've never changed hair colors or anything. But when I was little my hair was straight and fine and flat. Then suddenly it just got curly. Now my curls are like ringlets on the ends but shaped like an s at the root and I have zero volume. My hair gets weighed down so easily so these tips are really helpful. Thanks!!

America: Hi Joy , ththanks for keeping it real and to the point .

Kat VonKitty: i FINALLY found someone like my hair type!! I also have fine 3a hair and these tips are all super helpful!

Wendy: Hi. I just found your channel. I was searching for curly hair products. I learned so much from this video. I really like the idea of splitting your hair to the front. I also have fine hair and don't have a lot of hair. I'm going to try your tips. Thanks

Kelly DeHaan: Love your video! I have very thin and fine 2C-3A curly hair. I try not to touch my hair to much because it tends to frizz and or lose some of the curl. Yah, my curls have a mind of their own. It’s their way or the highway LOL. When dry, the middle bottom of hair looks good, but on top it practically sticks to my scalp. Absolutely no volume on top. I'm anxious to try your technique. If you had to pick only one of the products you've recommended, what would you suggest? Thank You!

Carolyne Elias: I just got into your videos and I absolutely love them ❤️ I have a question, because my natural hair type is almost identical to yours!! However, I've damaged it A LOT due to heat and coloring/bleaching. Any tips to restore hair like YOURS after all that damage ?

Sarah Zazueta: Hi Kelly! I'm naturally curly, but have a tomboy mom, never learned how to do my hair. So I've been straightening my hair for 20yrs and I'm ready for change. You have helped me through so many questions and I had to comment to say THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I'm on my first wk of the Curly Girl Method and so far my curls are responding great! I can't wait to have it down to a science like you, fingers crossed that I'll look remotely close to your amazing hair!! Keep up the great work, I'll be watching ❤️

Cynas: I have fine very thin curly hair and DevaCurl B'leave In and the Defining Gel were total game changers for me. They don't weigh my hair down and it really do make it look fuller.

Jen Gonzales: So beautiful! and your length and bangs are perfect... I’m gonna have to screenshot to see if I can find a stylist to cut my hair like that! thank you for the tips!

Curlygirl582: Great Techniques...fine hair is definitely a struggle when it comes 2 Volume...Thanks 4 da tips...u look Beautiful n ur curls are ..... Definitely will try some of the products..

Jaclin Martinez: omg i have fine/medium 3a/b hair so will definitely be trying these out! your hair is absolute goals

patty juarez: Love it. I will show this to my daughter

Robin Taylor: Wow!! Your hair looks amazing! Mine won't ever do that because its way too fine and I've lost a lot of hair on top due to illness and meds.

Debora Rujel Arangoitia: have you ever tried any other styling lotions or creams for your curling routine? and what products do you use to refresh your second or third day curls?

Julia Maregedze: Thank you for this video! Great tips! I love your hair! It does not look fine or thin to me. I just wanted to mention that I have fine and thin hair and although it is a tip that may work for other people, layers do not work for me unfortunately. It makes my hair look thinner towards the ends.

Caroline EsQuinca: Definitely loving how your hair turned out. I have real fine hair and even after curling my hair ...the next day it’s all flat again and the curls aren’t as pretty as the first day styling it. Have you changed your hair routine since making this video??

Yosani Brewer: after watching this video so many times, I finally bought the AG dry lift. There's a sale at Ulta right now. So my question is, do you find it a bit drying on your hair, any frizz? i have a feeling it's the conditioner I used but just wanted to get your thoughts.

Isa Salinas: It’s always great when you find someone with the same texture hair! Thanks for the tip w from Siliconvalley

sospiria: Amazing hair!! I am gonna try the devacurl gel, seems very good ❤

Noor Jdid: I have type 2-3a hair so I must try your routine!! Question: how often do you wash your hair? Thanks for making these videos!

Abby: I have the same hair type as you so helpful I’m about to get all of these products

Kayla Clark: oh god that's natural ?those curls are SO PERFECT

msgio: Your curls are absolutely beautiful!

Fatima: Your hair is absolutely gorgeous! I have fine curly hair too. Curly hair products don't tend to work well with my hair unless it's pretty wet (dripping here and there).

CECE: ive watched this so many times and it seems like we have the same hair type, but no way my hair could look this good :(

Fernanda Lima: You're so pretty thank you so much for the tips, I really want to use my natural hair but it's so frizzy and thin :(

Kathia Matos: Finally.i found this video for my exact hair!!! Thank you.you are a life saver!!!

Monica Buurmeester: Lovely video. I have a wavy type and also not a lot of hair. The denman gives me great clumps but also means there are just 5 and I'm out of hair

Ashleigh Patten: Her hair is AMAZING... and such a gorgeous color too

Yusra: Cant wait to go home and try every tutorial

rzb.: Girl you should have so much more subs! Ily and your tutorials their so nice and detailed❤

Linda Bindaa: Omg I HAVE to try this routine your hair is goals!! I would get layers but the underneath section of my hair is a bit looser than my top curls

Iridescent Aurora: Another thing that works is setting your roots with styling clips while its still wet, and then diffusing. I like that method because my curls are very delicate, and would completely unfurl if I used a denman brush.

Idalii Hernandesss: What a difference!! Loved it!

Clarissa Menini: Gorgeous! Loved it.

Corina Weber: gorgeous curls!!! Goals!

Інна Єнічева: Amazing! Thanks for all this tricks

Caitlin: I'm so mad! WHY CAN'T MY HAIR LOOK THIS GOOD!!

Ashley Atwell: So glad I found this! Thank you

Athena GM: Super adorable! At first I was cringing a bit because I have seen and personally do not comb the curls super flat since I've always heard it creates frizz. But you look stunning and also (I'm sure u hear it a lot-lol) but you look like Shakira. Thanks for the tips and techniques!

Anastasia Yu: thank you, a few tips and tricks totally new to me! and you have such beautiful hair ❤️

Linda V: Is your hair cut in layers? And what is your length when it's wet? Not sure how to ask when I go get my hair cut:( my hair at the moment is all one length on the back. I love your hair!

Priscila Nosoma: I'm trying this tomorrow, along with the finger coiling. My hair falls flat 5 minutes after drying.

Diana Reynolds: Whoever designs DevaCurls I owe them my definition and volume their productd absoluetly work for me It doesnt weigh my hair down which a lot of products do bc i have 2b/c type ❤

Chloé G: Thanks for this video ! Is there a real difference either you diffuse your hair or let it dry naturally? Thanks for the answer

breezycurlz: Help!!! I love your videos and I did a huge pixie chop. Now I’m trying to grow it back out. I heard of the curly girl challenge where you don’t use any heat. But Air drying takes forever and gives no volume. Should I just use the diffuser on cold ? What do you think about the curly girl method or recommend ? I also just found out about deep conditioning and I’ve had curly hair my whole life. Just no one to teach me !

Belinda: Lovely. Diffusing my hair has never worked for me, my 2b hair always ends up a frizzy mess :/ That shit is an enigma.

CanDoesIt: Thank you so much. Gonna try this ASAP!!!

It's Tianna: Beautiful i hope my curls look this bomb
