Tiktok Made Me Realize My Hair Was Curly Instead Of Straight??? #Shorts

Tick Tock just made me realize I think my hair is Curly instead of straight, and my mom has really curly hair and I'm starting to realize. I do too I've just been doing it wrong. Just pulled up to Target we're gon na get some goodies. How many options I didn't, let myself get a cart to get too much, and here I am, I love Target every time I literally got chocolate. I just showered it's finally time, let's go I'm gon na be honest. I have no idea what I'm doing. It'S kind of slimy, I think, I'm supposed to use a t-shirt, I'm not really sure my hand is sore what the a hack - oh, my God,

Quillz_Editz_: For everyone saying she has wavy hair instead of straight, that is a possibility but she could technically have curly hair and just have been straightening her hair for so long. Curls can take awhile to come back in after straightening it and not wearing it natural.

Pomie: “I’ve spent my entire life with straight hair even in baby photos it was straight but tiktok made me realize I have curly hair because yeah”

Zizzy: Not curly, you just temporarily made it wavy

xoxo: I have 2b wavy hair and her hair definitely needs a break from the straightening. She would really put in more research for things like her hair porosity so she can get better results. Hope her waves develop more Edit: Nvm I checked out her channel and she cut it short and it's straight

xoxolove: you definitely don’t have really curly hair, just wavy. still cute.

Lexie: The product you used made my hair sticky when I tried it. I prefer using the “Not Your Mother's Naturals Tahitian Gardenia Flower & Mango Butter Curl Defining” line

Amanda Barry: I grew up with a pin straight hair family and wondered why my hair was always horribly frizzy and downright impossible to manage. Not to mention I'd get rude comments on how awful it is from strangers. At 22 I stopped using smoothing products, heat products, towels, and brushing it anytime but in the shower. A few months later my curl pattern started appearing. Now at 26 I have 3ft of beautiful curly hair and I get compliments from strangers like 50% of the time I go out. Those compliments go right to my heart because I spent most of my life hating my hair and now its so gorgeous. I get discounts at Sallys because the ladies there love it so much!

Kailey Spencer: My hair was curly as a baby, my dad's side has curly hair, and sometimes it acts kind of like it's trying to curl or is wavy, and it gets poofy. But generally it looks pretty straight. So I'm just going to leave it be. I know that hormones have effect on hair texture, so it could become curly or wavy in the future ‍♀️ who knows

Ashley Smith: "I literally got chocolate" WOAH slow down there psycho

S M: It’s certainly not curly, and that’s coming from someone who has brushed out my curly blonde hair as straight as I can my whole life lol, maybe a bit wavy though :) it’ll look cute

Hanan Velic: I just can't with all curly girls going ham after watching this lmao...IT IS JUST HAIR, okay? Even if her hair is not wavy or curly, even if it was the gel that made it look like that, WHY DO YOU CARE SO MUCH?? Why do yall get so nasty over hair like okay we get it you have perfect curls or waves without any extra products but do you have to show that by bringing down other women? Let her be excited it's her own hair ‍♀️ Women really enjoy bringing each other down to feel better about themselves and it never fails to make me cringe.

Alyssa Dana: Love how she used a curling gel lmao

taylor thompson: nobody: tiktokers: tiktok made me realize that i’m actually wolf and here’s why

Nix: The same thing happened to me a few years back. My mom and sister have curly hair, and I jus thought I didn’t have the gene. But, out of curiosity, my mom had me try her hair routine and sure enough, my hair sprouted up in curls, not waves, CURLS!!

lee is klee: btw, if you straighten and blowdry your hair often, your hair is “trained” to be on the straighter side. so I’m sure if she does this to her hair more often, her hair would get curlier, maybe not super curly. your hair looks awesome either way! edit: obviously she has some damage, so she should take care of her hair, everyone should, especially if you use heat on your hair often

Maddie Carlile: As someone who’s hair became curly in my early teens. My hair started off similar to your but you basically are going to have to retrain your hair. So lay off the blow dryers and straighteners. I also try to use minimal product so it doesn’t weigh my curls down. Start with shampoo and conditioner that is made for curlier hair and don’t brush it. (Scrunch dry)

Just Editz: Her- having straight hair and saying I think I have curly hair Her- buying products that makes your hair look curly Her- I knew it

Maya: My unasked for advice is definitely stay away from heat tools and unnecessary friction! You can tell by the roots and the ends that the wave pattern is damaged, I’d suggest getting a trim and also if you’re going to be out in the sun wear heat protectant in your hair!! Ppl forget that just like your skin, the sun damages your hair too

Rachel: Girls like this are why I have a constant revolving door of barely used curly creams, gels, and leave-in conditioners being gifted to me. A straight haired person I know sees some TikTok about finger coiling, thinks they can use that and a bunch of expensive products to get curls, it doesn't work, then they give the products to me. I actually love it. I haven't bought a styling product in years.

Moriah Rizzo: I love how she learned that from Tik Tok and then proceeded to do none of her own research and just went and got ONE random product Bless her heart

Sofia Vega: This is kinda what happened to my hair. Kinda. When I was really young, I had dead straight, super thin hair; while both my parents had curly, thick hair. When I got older (about 7-8), my hair started getting curly and and little by little, got thicker then both my parents’ combined. Now it’s too much and I’m thinking about shaving my hair OFF. Not completely bald but like, 11 sort of.

WXTCHZ: if it doesnt dry after you wash it to be curly, it’s not curly. plus if you use a gel or product it does not *curl* your hair, it just enhances your natural curls. so if you have to put something for it to be curly, it’s not. the result she had is wavy hair which i think fits her really good :)

Hannah Laurier: There's something called the "curly girl method" and it's pretty amazing. You should really check it out if you want to bring out the full extent of your natural culrs :D

Jonalyn Baldoza: My dad has curly hair and my aunts in his side has wavy hair while my moms whole family has thick straight hair. I was born with straight hair but when I became a teen they became curly. I was so confused. I thought only eye color changes as you grow up.

UnlimitedOne: I have naturally curly hair. If you have been straightening your hair for a while, it may take time for your natural curly pattern to come in completely. Just be patient. Also, there are a lot of curly girls on Youtube to help with advice on products. Good luck with your curly girl journey.

🪷𝓔𝓼𝓼𝓲𝓮: Aww it’s cute!! Keep encouraging your curls and they will become more defined and bouncy, it may take a few months but don’t give up!

Daniela Sanchez: I have curly hair and went to a hotel and used their shampoo, it made my hair straight. So I totally see how she never realized she had wavy/curly hair

Lunar: Tip never brush your hair from top to bottom always bottom to top also use combs instead of brushes it’s better for your hair!! I have had curly hair my whole life and was born with it trust me on this one girl!!❤️❤️❤️

itsisabel: coming from a curly haired girl, your hair might be wavy but it’s not curly. that’s also CURL gel and if you scrunch your hair up and then let it dry it’s gonna be CURLY. love your hair tho!!

ass eater: Oof. As someone who has curly hair people will never understand the struggle of finding the right hairbrush. On the other note this lady def as wavy hair and I am here for it!

Shymai Thomas: Yes!! It's giving all the vibes babe! Definitely talk to a professional with your hair evolution✨

Rose Bell: Getting your hair to a state where it's healthy in its curls is a process when you have treated your hair like straight hair for most your life. Stick with the process and continue to learn

Nila: "it's not curly it's wavy" could be but also imagine the chemical and heat damage her hair got while she was assuming it was straight? reviving curls takes time!

Mia Jean: That’s wavy hair :) It’s common to think you have straight hair. The more you wear your natural waves, the wavier they’ll get

Kristina Gaivas: I believe her hair is damaged by being bleached so that’s why it gets curly, speaking from my own and my moms experience. We are both naturally brunettes with straight hair, but after bleaching if I blow dry it without brushing or after applying some product for curls I get same waves.

Imp Again!~: Big same! I'm trying to figure out how to keep it curly when it dries. But my friend started doing the curl method, changing her pillowcase and hair towel and everything, and now her hair naturally curls like Princess Merida

a.gemini.vibing: everyone (like her) that sees other people with actually curly or wavy hair tries this i swear. like if you have straight hair it still works (in my experience)

epicwriter96: My hair is super wavy, but I’ve never done anything to encourage these soft, relaxed curls, so my hair is mostly straight. But I’ve thought about trying some products to help with that.

Kat Cunningham: didn’t realize my hair was a 2c/3a curl until i was like 24! and my mom has SUPER curly hair around a 3c, so i have no clue how nobody ever thought to tell me “hey have you ever tried taking care of your hair as though it’s curly? cuz it might be”. my mom’s whole curly headed side of the fam let me think i just had frizzy hair bc all i did was put hot tools on it and brush it even when i let it air dry and i wondered why it was so unruly lmao

Gooble Gal: I always thought my hair was straight, cause if I styled it like curly hair it would turn out oily and generally weird looking. turns out I've had wavy hair my whole life, and all I needed was hair oil and sea salt spray. years of frizz and tangly hair, and all I needed was two products smh.

Sarah Brackett: I use the same curl cream!!! Works wonders on wavy hair!

A: I just started getting waves in my hair like my mom. Happened to her when she got older too. My daughter has gorgeous ringlets I love her hair.

Ziyle: As someone with really curly hair, just know that you should avoid products with sulfate in it. I stopped using sulfate and the condition of my hair has greatly improved So around 3 months ago I stopped shampooing my hair every time I wash It and that has also really helped my dry hair. Obviously shampoo occasionally I have found that the curly Ellie products are really good ( even though they are meant for children) so definitely recommend it

Aayh Abdelgawad: I really felt it when she said “i love target ” all of us girl we are just the same

Puff Queen if Sass: Her: My hair isn't straight it's curly!!! Her hair -------------wdym------------

bluebonnet gal: This happened to me too, I always thought my hair was straight bc it was always long (my mom has curly hair and my dad had straight hair) until recently I got layered short hair and after I took a showers it dried like curly fries I was so confused

Elliot S: Recommendation from someone with curly hair, use the Aussie brand. For me it worked much better than the fruictus

😏🫰 Hayden: “I have curly hair” Me over here standing having really thick AND curly hair ‍♀️

Raging bicycle: I will never understand how people “realize” that is they have curly hair. What about your hair when it’s wet also she didn’t even do any research or anything

Melanie♥️: Just remember after doing that there’s no coming back especially if you do it more than once I had wavy not curly hair and I started doing that and my hair is really messy/curly now and I haven’t been able to get it to go back just saying

KatieLeeann: I did the exact same thing! I realized my senior year of high school that my hair was curly and I was doing it wrong!

Kate Nerone: I always thought I had straight hair, until one stylist asked me this: What does your DRY hair look like after being in a ponytail for an hour? I said it has a dent in it where the band was. Which means I have lots of natural wave/curl. Some styling product, scrunching it with my fingers while drying it on a low setting or with a diffuser, and VOILA -- lovely curls

Sofia H.: Heyy, some tips!! When you buy your products make sure they dont have sulfates parabens or silicones! When applying products to your hair make sure you rake and scrunch them in scrunching is so important!! And finally use a wide tooth comb or denman brush so you dont damage your curls, have fun!!

Cotten Candy Is Awesome: Also recommend leaving conditioner in for longer than usual because most condioners enhance curls (in my experience)

Communist propaganda: I don't know if it's just me, but as someone with curly hair, my hair is always d drastically way more curly after I wash it.

Maeliosa: She might have real curls but they got "broken" by years of straightening them with heat, I'm sure after a year she'll get her real and nice curls back

Cara Garcia: I used to wonder what people were talking about when they said humidity made their hair frizzy. My hair is completely straight so it never frizzed. I guess they either intentionally or accidentally straightened their hair.

Phillipus Audox: My hair actually miraculously changed textures when I was in the middle of high school. I’m not really sure why, but my doctor and my hairstylist said it can be a hormone thing. It was a little annoying at first not being able to style it the same, but after a while I grew to love it. Now I’m so happy to have curly hair, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

co1103 99: if you've been treating your hair as straight your whole life its going to take longer to get waves/curls back so you can't fully tell what her hair is especially with just gel

Halo_Girl_243: Curly hair doesn’t become straight because of bad styling, its a protein structure. Heat is the only thing that really gets that protein structure to change.

Hannah Marshall: The product she showed is the in one I use! It really helps define my natural curls

tardigradart: they need to just do 1 week of washes and no heat and see what texture they could have...because anyone can style their hair wavy/curly with gel and clumping but it will only last if you actually have textured hair...also these "discovering my hair is curly" girls don't have childhood pics to see what their hair was

nia pack: Girls with straight or wavy hair: guys my hair is super curly I just had to add 15 products and use a specific drying and sleeping pattern Girls with actually curly hair: really? I just needed water

ilaria_chwann: Imma go jump out the window if I see another vid where they say their straight/wavy hair is actually curly. YOU LITERARY MADE THE NATURAL HAIR WAVY WITH PRODUCTS, PRODUCTS U don't need products to have NATURAL curly hair! Edit: instead of saying "tt made me realize I have curly hair" u should say "how to make your hair wavy/curly"

Shade: The curl stuff she’s used has a lot of silicone in it. Definitely avoid that unless you want flat hair.

Sarah G. King: Girl, if you would have sprayed some hairspray in your hair after you applied the curl cream and then used a diffuser on your hair dryer, you probably would have gotten some bomb-ass curls .... I am a curly girl and the diffuser on my hair dryer is what brings my curls to their full potential

Melody :}: You could definitely have curly hair; you now just have to retrain your hair by being consistent with a curly hair routine and cutting out straightening for a while . It takes time so just be patient and consistent!

Makayla Jarden: Hi, I realize I am late but I want to help you out. So when you are in the shower you want to use a curly hair shampoo and conditioner. Then when you get out of the shower you wanna use a good curl cream, after you put that and you want to scrunch it in then you can defuse and then put in some moose and then style it however you want. Hope this helped

Kenzieeeeeeeeee: My favorite after shower like sculpting spray is the coconut curl spray it is SOOOOO good and it doesn’t leave your hair oily or frizzy or like crunchy or hard so I literally love it if you have curly hair you should try it!! If you have a favorite product for curls what is it, I love to try new products so I want to know

S M I L E M O R E C U T I E: You have hair like mine! ✨ My mom has really long curly brown hair, my dad has straight-ish black hair, and I have dirty blonde wavy hair. FYI: my mom used to have really blonde curly hair, but her color faded to brown with age (as is mine at the moment)

lamalamalex: Like everybody already said, WAVY, sis. You got WAVY hair. Rock it!

Gianna: Sooooo as someone who used to have curly hair when I was little and now it’s just curly-wavy from losing definition over time , I’ve kinda learned that if your hair is not curly when wet or able to appear straight . It’s probably just wavy . Just deceiving itself as almost curly . Even if you have like ringlets on the bottom or near your ears it’s still considered wavy most likely . (To clarify these are all just assumptions based on the majority I’ve noticed it’s not like that for everybody !) Hope this helped !! P.S. your hairs gorgeous!

A D: I used to have really bouncy big waves naturally but after years of straightening it’s soooo frizzy and the only part of my hair that gets cute lose spiral curls are my baby hairs. I style my hair with heat maybe 2 times a year since 2015 and it’s still so freaking frizzy!

Shamir Quinones: You can bleach your hair and still have it be healthy! I’ve bleached my hair a TON of times and my curls done lose their health or pattern. I have 3a/3b curls.. some 3c especially about my hair line in front and back and it CAN be done. Just takes effort.

♛Shehnai♛: Wavy is actually still a type of a curl so technically she has curly hair but she may have damaged it as she straightens it

Reece_G: girlies on tik tok be like “my hair is actually curly and this is how i know” *curls hair* “omg guys look how it holds that curl omgggg”

frownie_kittie: I've had my hair straightend and forced to be straight for a majority of my life and recently I discovered through forgetting to brush my hair that I have curly/wavy hair! It's so weird it never clicked that I just was treating my hair weirdly. I even had some super young photos of me with the springiest hair I've ever seen! Plus my mom has curly hair! Now I'm trying to improve in drawing curly hair for myself lmfao, have a good day/night

Jamie Rene: I realized that I have wavy hair, I'm gonna get some products soon and see what I can do with my hair. I'm super excited to see where this takes me.

Happy cat!: Wait for the day when you have so many knots you almost wanna go bald. Then you officially part of the curly gang

Dawn Templeton: A lot of products can weigh down your hair and reduce the amount of curl you can achieve. And there are cuts you can get for curly hair that also improves your curl.

R: If your hair is naturally curly you don’t have to use products to make it look curly. Yes define the curls but they should already be there

Potato Cheese: She definitely has wavy hair but not curly. I use to straighten my hair for years from 6th grade till I was 19 and even with heat damaged hair over 10 years, my curls and roots were still curlier. So it’s safe to say she has wavy hair. Super nice too, after a year or two of no heat and proper care she will have such thick wavy locks. Hope she keeps up the work!!

Valery Camero: I think it might be wavy hair, I say so bc mine is just like that. Still having natural waves without having to heat curl it feels pretty cool, and wavy hair is beautiful

Nikki Denson: I just now got my curls back. I haven’t seen them since 7th grade. I’m 24. I haven’t colored my hair in a while and only touch it with heat for special occasions (my wedding, nights out). I also finally got some good shampoo from my hair stylist. I cried when they finally showed back up

Death: Your hair is definitely not curly but it does have some wave to it, it just depends on what products you are using and if you are using very good quality ones you can definitely make your hair have some curl or waviness to it, it doesn’t always mean that is your real texture.

Niki Nihachu: I have extremely curly hair and that exact curl sculpt gel made my hair so crunchy and stiff..never letting it come near my hair again

Shelby Gill: You have finer hair. I would suggest applying a more water based gel and even adding water to it. I personally don’t like to use gels, however it is simply just a texture thing for me. I scrunch my hair with my fingers while it is soaking wet and when the curls have reached peak definition I use a t-shirt or microfiber towel and gently squeeze the water out a few times before adding a tiny amount of water based leave in conditioner and leaving it to air dry. My hair is fine so it drys fairly quick. My curls occasionally come out different; sometimes they’re loose and sometimes they’re tight.

Jenn y: I’m genuinely curious like how curly actually is your hair if you have to buy products/manipulate the hair to achieve the curls? Idk something about this just doesn’t sit white with me

ANNAHIROX: I need y'all to realize that wavy hair isn't curly just because 2c is a hair type. 1a is also a hair type and that is straight hair. Curl=shape. She likely has curly hair but she'd never know unless she stopped using heat and color on her hair for a significant amount of time.

Sarah Peralta: My hair used to be wavy/curly at the ends when I was little. Then I damaged it with crimping for dance and now my hair is somewhat straight

Jessie Jess: I learned recently that I have JUST enough wave to show when my hair is wet, but I think it’s too thick and heavy for me to get it to hold ever I gave up

Alecia Mcdonald: I had super long and straight hair for ages. When I cut it to slightly below my shoulders, I learned it was wavy.

northcarrot: if you have to use products to have curly hair, you don’t have naturally curly hair

Rose: Interesting...my mom has super curly hair as well as my brother. Ive always straightened my hair since I was like 12, (im 23 now.) But my hair is very swirly and gets puffy/frizzy when I wash it.... time to see if i can bring out some curls ❤

Mandybaby: Now I wanna see what her mom hair looks like and see their definition of “curly”

Caroline Coddington: Tips! Don’t put product in all the time! Mainly only once a week! Expirement with different products until you find one the supports your curls. LET YOUR HAIR AIR DRY it will look way better!good luck! Edit: also the less you straighten it and the more you wear it curly, the more your curls will become (more) defined and beautiful!!!

: As someone with natural curls i find this video embarrassing, but maybe I'm just being too judgemental

Shawnee Prieto: The curly hair community has always been so gatekeeping I swear when I was in middle school I was on musically and this girl was talking ab her hair and ALL THE CURLY HAIRED GIRLS were roasting her I was like wtf

Stuck at home: I also always thought my hair was straight turns out my hair is extremely wavy
