Hey babes, as you guys can see from the title, today's video is in collaboration with toyotres for their toysiana curly lock, so we're gon na get right into this. You guys, i'm not even gon na lie. My hair was definitely about a week old. I had been wearing it pretty much in a ponytail and now the afro is in full effect, so jumping right into this, i'm going to be showing you how to do a really quick, crochet ponytail in case you are literally needing something done to your hair within 30 to 40 minutes you need to get out of the door and look presentable. You guys this is super beginner friendly. So if you guys don't know how to braid, that is. Okay, if you guys don't know how to do good ponytails, that is okay. Okay! So what i'm gon na go ahead and do is you guys can already see i've sectioned out about an inch across my hairline? I'M also gon na go ahead and pre-set my baby hairs just because you guys should know by now. That'S the most annoying part. For me, when i do my actual hair, so i like to pre-set them that way. I already have the hair pretty much taken out. I don't really like to smooth them down at the end, just because i just don't like to do it, so i'm going to go ahead and start boxing, my hair into the connector boxes right. So if you guys have seen my passion twist video, then you guys would know already my crochet experience is a little bit different. You literally put your hair into boxes. You don't have to worry about the tugging pulling. Some of you guys are worried about tension when it comes to the rubber bands, but keep in mind you are the one doing this to your own head. So if you decide to twist and twist and twist and twist and twist until your freaking brain falls out, then yes, you will have a lot of tension, so be mindful of that. If you guys don't feel comfortable using the really good rubber bands, and then, of course, you guys can actually use or put your hair in place and go ahead and connect them, you guys will see what it is that i'm doing the reason that i did not Part my hair strategically, is because i wanted to show you i literally set a timer. I probably should have shown you guys this in the video just for the special effects, but i set a timer to see if i can get this done in 40 minutes. You guys i got it done in about 42, but nonetheless um. We were able to go ahead and complete this, so i'm literally just boxing my hair. All the way around you guys can see it. Not every box is perfect. Not every box is the same size. You guys can see how i'm literally just twisting my hair down towards the end, if you guys are not that great at parting, that's okay! The whole goal here is to create an illusion, a pretty much updo ponytail right as if you actually got box braids faux locs, you name it you'd, be able to just literally put them up in a ponytail and go now. You guys can see how thick my hair is so already. I know y'all are like: where is this tutorial even going right, so anywho? Nevertheless, for the second row i was kind of up. You know not really sure if i wanted to um go ahead and do the second row, but i only did it just because my hair was super thick and yeah. There was literally a clear difference that i did not have any braids behind the first line, so i did go ahead and do a second row. You could totally do this all throughout your hair and literally leave the smallest ponytail in the middle by connecting everything and then go ahead and crochet it in and you'd actually get a smoother base. But again i was timing myself, so i wanted to make sure that i could get this done as quickly as freaking possible and get you guys out of the door. So this is what the hair looks like. Of course, there will be a link down in my description box, make sure that you use that link, because you will get a chance to get 50 off. Of course, you guys know, i'm always trying to get you guys, some type of discount code. So once i get that description box loaded definitely be sure to check it out so that you guys do not miss any sales of special promotions from toyotas, because um yeah like who doesn't want to pay less for hair okay. Now, i'm already saving you guys, literally about a minimum of 150 to 200 dollars. So the least that you can do is go ahead and like this video comment and subscribe just so that i know that you are part of the family, if you guys have already been here, then what's up sunflower gang, i know i didn't do my normal intro, But look we have to get straight into this one, so the hair color is a little bit different. You guys can see. It is more of a lighter brown. My hair is in the kind of ashy blackish brown stage at this point, super dirty, which is why, with my edge control, i ended up having to go back through with a little water to remove some of the product. Y'All super ghetto right, but when i tell you i committed to this tutorial, i definitely committed, and so i'm going ahead and pretty much just putting all of the locks in you guys have seen me. Do this a million times if you're not familiar with how to use the crochet needle go ahead and watch this video back a couple times, i did not speed it up very much at all when i say it very much at all. I mean literally, it's like at 100 would be normal speed and it's at 120. So that's a little bit faster just to help everything move along and you guys can already see how full the hair is, how soft the hair was. Now, i'm not usually a fan of faux locs just because i feel like sometimes they're too perfect. These came already kind of pre-distressed. They were wrapped, really really nicely really tight. They were not heavy at all. I know that a lot of times you get the full locks and that weight can really just kind of tear. I don't want to say, tear your hair down, but y'all know what i mean it. Just it's a lot right in this case. I didn't have to deal with that all at all, because it is crochet hair and of course my hair is already kind of tacked down. So i don't have that additional pulling at the base of my hair at all. Um - and you guys can see this is their curly texture, so you're noticing that it already has that kind of preset pattern and y'all. The funny thing is, i was actually considering locking my hair when i turned 30.. I'M not gon na do that anymore. Simply because, if i want to wear some locks now, we have the ability to put them in, take it out and just be super versatile, but you guys can see already how we're forming that ponytail. So i'm literally just going around my head doing the base, like i said if you want to do more rows, feel free. I know that sometimes, when i show my tutorials, you guys feel as though oh i need to know how many boxes you had. No. This is just to show you the base, you guys add on take away from it. What you feel this does not have to be like the end, all be all keep in mind. This is stuff that i'm just being creative with and making up as i go. I did actually see a similar tutorial um, where this one lady, if i can find the video i'll, definitely link her, because i want to give credit um, and so she did the entire perimeter, and i just went ahead and added um just the second row. Just because i was like yeah, we'll probably be a little bit better if there was a second row, so i wanted to show you guys that, just because hey is youtube right and most people come here to learn. So, there's that you guys can see where i am pretty much filling this in going every single spot around my ponytail, i'm even going to crochet hair in my actual bun, and the reason for that is because, of course, once i gather the hair up in the Ponytail my bun is so thick and just in the way had i not done that, you guys would clearly be able to see my ponytail peeking through so definitely make sure. If you're going to be trying this out to get a little crochet through your bun, you could totally braid your hair down. If your hair is not as thick as mine, you should have no problem with blending at all and i'm already able to see just how full it is right, and so i added everything in sporadically that way i was able to see. Okay, do i need more hair? Do i need less hair and honestly, i was able to get away with this. So, even if this hair was black, it would have blended even better, which, in my opinion, it looks really nice as is, but it definitely we could have taken it up a notch had it been black hair or my hair was a little bit closer to this. So let me know what you guys think about it. You know i don't mind good bad comments, it's all accepted. It'S all. Love definitely make sure that you are following me on instagram um, so that you guys can just kind of see what it is that i'm into on a day-to-day basis. Thank you so much toyotas for sending me this and of course i will pretty much see you guys in my next video now i know some of you guys are wondering how this looks down now. Obviously we created this into a ponytail right, so it's cute from the front. You don't want to see it from that. Okay, love, y'all, bye,
