Hey also, today, I'm going to show you how I do my messy bun for short hair. My hair is a mess right now. That is because we are on day 4. Yes, so this hairstyle is perfect for dirty day old, three day old, 4 day old hair. However long you want to go, it's perfect for short hair um. I used to have hair down to here, and I've chopped it all off and I've regretted it ever since, because I can't put it up, I used to do these messy buns all the time. My hair just now got to the length where I figured out a way to do it and I'm going to share it with you guys. All you will need is a hair donut. You can get these a hair. Sorry umm! You can get these in a drugstore Walmart Target, it's just a kind of like a mesh donut and you can get these in any color. You know to match your hair color, so I have like a dark Ogburn ish, color um. You can also use a sock. You know cut the toe off of it and roll it. I have done my messy buns with both I do like using these better because they're more lightweight, you know they don't kind of tug at your head as much and when you use bobby pins. You know the bobby pins can go in this type of material, whereas a sock, you know you can't really get it in there. You also need two hair ties, some bobby pins. If your hair is a bit longer and you need to pin some hair back, you'll also need some dry shampoo. If your hair is dirty like mud, I'm just some boost it. I use L'Oreal just like a texturizing texturizing, a volumizing spray and some hairspray, so brace yourself here we go huh okay, so this is what we start with dirty hair. Just going to give my dry shampoo a shake. This is just going to soak up any excess oils. Give us some texture - and I really spray the underneath well, because your hair is going to be up, and you don't want that oiliness showing so then we're just going to work this in then we're going to give this and you can see how much volume that Immediately gave just the dry shampoo, but just to give it a little bit more texture, I'm going to use this boost that spray. Now what I like to do it this is I like to lift it up, give it a squirt and then just kind of drop. My hair in the back, ok, now we're going to pull our hair into a ponytail. You do kind of want a high ponytail but kind of at the crown of your head as well. So what I like to do is I like to flip my head over sorry. If you can't see me, I'm just going to flip my head over and just messily grab all my hair like that now I will take a brush and brush up the back of my hair just to smooth that out and to pull up any loose hairs. Some people, you know if you want loose hairs in the back, that's fine. I have worn it that way, but today I kind of want it all pulled up so brush up the back. Take your hair tie and just put it in a ponytail okay. Now this is where I'll go in and just kind of fluff up the top here, just grabbing pieces pulling them forward. I do like some volume you know through here, and it can be as messy or a sleek back as you want. Okay, now take your donut and pull your hair through okay, then you're just going to spread your ponytail kind of lean down, see if you can see what I'm doing you're just going to spread the hair evenly across the donut. So you should have something like that. Take another hair tie and put it over the hair like that. Okay, now, to give it some volume you're going to go in and just start kind of pulling the top. So it's not so you know tight down on that hair donut and just spreading the hair around making sure the donut is covered and that's why you want to get one closest to your hair color. So if it's not um yeah, if you don't have it covered all the way, that's fine, okay and that guy's and just play with it. I like these pieces of hair kind of sticking out. That'S what makes it kind of messy and different. This is where the bobby pins come in. If you don't like that, you know you can just kind of fold this back and bobby, pin the hair down when my hair is a bit longer. I will take these pieces and kind of wrap it around the top and start Bobby pinning it in, but, like I said, I kind of like that. Look so I'm going to leave it then just get it where you want it as big as you want it and then just pull some pieces down in the front here. I kind of like to come up the back one more time and spray spray a lot, especially if you don't want the back coming up. Alright guys there you have it a quick and easy messy bun for short hair thumbs up. Elaine Howard: Hi Sara, OMGoodness, I have tried to do this style so many times and it never looked anywhere near as nice as yours dose, but NOW I know why, it's the second hair tie, I've never seen it done using the second hair tie to keep the hair around the donut, I've always wrapped it round and used bobby pins and it looks tight and there's always bits of the donut showing.
