In this video, I showcase 5 receding hairline tricks that will help improve receding hairline symptoms and struggles. I wish there was a receding hairline cure, but nevertheless, this is a compilation of my favourite receding hairline fix tips for men. How to fix a receding hairline and how to hide a receding hairline are commonly asked in the comments of my videos and I don't blame you guys; it's hard to know what to do.

My hairline isn't the best it's not terrible, but it's not ideal. My job involves me being in front of this camera all the time. So, as a result, I have to make it look. Half decent in this video I'll be showing those tricks with you in the hope that you might find some of them useful so that, by the end of the video you've got some idea of some other things that you can do to make your hairline look a Slight bit better, the first thing to focus on is your haircut if you're struggling with thin hair and a poor hairline, this is of critical importance in this regard. I'D say the shorter you go the better, especially on the sides. This is because it can help to disguise the lack of density on the top of your head. The top area is typically the area that you'll see the most thinning, at least at first. If you have a hairstyle, that's an even length all over you'll be able to easily see the areas that are thinner as they'll, usually be a lighter color compared to the sides of your head, where the hair is typically thicker by removing more side hair. During a haircut, it will disguise the disparity in thickness across the two areas, meaning that proportionally the thinner hair on top will start to look slightly thicker. This is why men with severe hair loss often look better if they fully shave their head once the head is fully shaven. The lack of hair is equal across all areas, leaving a proportionally neater look overall, while the way you physically get your hair cut by a barber is important. The specific hairstyle that you choose can also be impactful. There are certain ways that you can style your hair to somewhat combat a receding hairline. When people ask me for my advice, when it comes to receding, hairline hairstyles, I always recommend some form of side part, because overall, I think it can make a big difference. The advantage of a side part is: you can place it exactly on the recessed area. This acts to reduce the visual impact of the recession as you'd expect a parted area to show scalp there anyway, and, as such, the lack of density is going to matter a little bit less further to this, when shaping your hairstyle I'd recommend pushing the hair across Some sort of angle before now I've tried pushing my hair straight back or forward. Unfortunately, such methods have tended to reveal a significant amount of scalp, whereas if you push a diagonal, the hair Stern tend to overlap each other to give slightly better coverage. I'M not recommending going for the fully bald comb-over look, but if you've got small patches where the hair is thinner such as mine at the front, it can make somewhat of a difference. Tweezers can come in surprisingly useful when it comes to improving the look of your hairline. This tactical plucking technique will help to reduce the classic M shape that often worsens the appearance of your hairline. It'S gon na sound counterintuitive at first, but you're gon na remove some hairs. You'Re gon na pluck some areas of your hairline to give it a more smooth and consistent. Look more representative of a better, more full hairline. When you have hair loss, you often find your hair line gets patchy and weird, which makes it look worse. My hairline is naturally more staggered and has a thin patch at the front Center area, with the bits either side of it being more thick. As such, I plucked a couple of lines of hairs from the front section, including both the thinner and thicker areas, and I also removed some of the random outlying hairs and, as a whole, it created a slightly smoother, more normal-looking hairline, with more of an overall natural Curve, rather than the traditional M shape. Unfortunately, I didn't record any before footage for this, so I can't do a direct comparison, but I have let some of those hairs regrow a bit more, so you can see which areas I plucked specifically. This sorta gives the illusion that my hair hairline was always in that exact same place when in fact it was a little bit further forward, but look like it had recessed more before. I didn't tell any of you guys that I was doing this when I started it a few months back, but I saw quite a large influx of comments about it. People were asking what I'd done differently to change the look at my hair cuz. Something had changed with all of them, saying that it was an improvement, so I thought it was worth mentioning in this video I'll leave a link in the description to the tweezers that I've been using for this. It'S important that you can get some that are able to accurately grip the small hairs this next one is slightly left-field, but again I wanted to mention it. I found that having a hair color that closely matches your skin tone can help to somewhat conceal the effects of a receding, hairline or thinning hair as a whole. Really, this principle makes sense if the hair tone is closer to that of the skin. Your eyes will be less able to identify areas of thinning and recession in comparison to your skin, reducing their overall imp. Really, this solution isn't gon na be for everyone and may involve some sort of dyeing or hair bleaching to achieve it. Nevertheless, I doubled in this a little bit before I used to line my hair a little bit and while I didn't like the overall look, I do think that it made my hair look a little bit less recessed in some of the frontal areas. I didn't get quite the same contrast between my really dark hair and then light skin beneath. In that situation, you can easily see which areas are thinner than others towards the beginning of this video I mentioned different hair styles, while hair styles are certainly important. The product you used to create the style is arguably even more so, regardless of any of the previous tips in this video. If you're choosing the wrong hair styling product, it can make your whole head of hair look incredibly thin. I made this mistake when I was younger and I'm sure loads of you out. There are doing this too, using a greasy finish. Hair product will clump your hair strands together, meaning of your scalp is gon na be far more visible. You'Ll often get this with different types of pomades and hair gels from your hairline you'll, be able to see further into your hair, which can also make your hairline look weaker and more staggered again, making it look unnatural if you've got thinner, hair and a poor hairline There are a couple of ones: I'd recommend trying instead I'd recommend some form of matte wax or powder, unlike in the past, these are readily available. Nowadays, these will leave the hair looking slightly drier and more natural meaning. The hair will look as thick as possible, while still providing some structure and hold i'll also took links the ones i use in the video description they're likely to be a lot better than the ones you already use him. The hair powder in particular works extremely well and gives the hair a good amount of volume with the dry finish. It definitely makes the hair line look stronger in comparison to greasy hair products. Conversely, you may want to try hair fibers. These are a different type of fiber, designed to give the illusion of thicker hair. These come in a variety of colors to closely match your existing hair color and can be sprinkled directly into your hair to thicken its appearance. This definitely makes a difference under harsh lighting and can improve the consistency of your hair line, though, isn't a permanent solution I'll leave a link to my review of that stuff in the iCard above, so you can check it out next, if you enjoyed this video, consider Subscribing and I'll see in the next one

Patrick Kelly: Ben, Most of my life I had really think hair. After damaging my follicles up front and in the corners (bad scalp issues) I have been unhappy with my hair for a few years now. I used some of the products/types you suggested (Nioxin thickening and Seven Potions matte clay), added in the blow drying, made sure to cut down the shine, cleaned up some loose hairs and POW! Granted it's not perfect but I've finally learned to restyle my "new" hair instead of trying to style it like it was . I'm on the right track and I can't thank you enough. It looks 10 times better. FYI: I bought a ton if different products and types you suggest and found what works for me. Most likely I will give away what didn't work for me but it's money well spent to find out what did. I suggest others do the same.

gardini100: I'm turning 50 next year and have about the same hairline as you and had it since the late 20s, so not all have to panic, I think if you worry about it you going to lose it faster, buzz it now and then is healthy too, but never try to hide it screams out that you are insecure and it looks weak, just wear a hair cut that fits and look neat and tidy

The Impulse Tribe: Great video! I started losing my hair in late teens and got to the point last year at 29 where i needed to do the 'Brave Shave' man that most men will have to do if they are on the same path! Its good that there are options out there though. I ended up going with SMP/MSP MicroScalp Pigmentation. I have recently done a video of my before and after with some general comments. Let me know your thoughts if you can. Cheers - J

J90JAM: An actually useful video on thin hair, great job Ben.

Syazuwan Hassan: This is great and pure. Some vids on youtube says they had receding hairline while their hair is totally fine. Yours is really informative and true. Thanks!

Vanilla: Hi Ben, what do you think for applying bronzing gel or cream on the scalp instead of using topic ? Maybe it works better. Thanks.

David R: As a kid, I saw all sorts of men with balding heads. For some reason it never occurred to me that I would be one of those guys one day. It’s a cruel joke nature plays on you

RPF Creates: I’m subscribing right now. Just found you and I’ve watched three excellent videos. Straight forward, relaxed, informative. Thanks man!

Andrew Williams: I'm 28 had the same hairline since a teenager. No changes. My hair is thick and I love it, BUT, my hairline on the front is high up. No hair loss, no thin hair, just it starts from high, except the middle. I'd love it straight. I wonder if surgery is cheap given it's a little bit of added hair and not a whole head.

hereyougofirst: You look great! Thanks for the video, as a woman, I had a soft M which I’m not a big fan of and I tried this, it made wonders!

DaveGermany1989: It works similarly for beards. Shave away the thinner areas and trim the thickest areas. Then your beard style will look like a decision and not something you wish you had. This Video is very structured, on point and logically convincing like your others. I wish I could have this sort of explanations for everything instead of doing a lot of research on my own. Thank you for your good work!

dr77: Another useful trick if you rock the hair part is to comb the hair to the side that recedes more so that it covers it up, while exposing the good side. Also another good style is the Caesar cut. It allows you to lower the hairline by 1-2 inches and leaves very little scalp exposed because all the hairs are laying in the same direction.

Just Me: As a man with thinner hair, primarily the crown… Hanz de Fuko Sponge Wax has been a Godsend. I tried every clay, powder, etc.. it’s by far been the best. But buy it from the website, not Amazon. Amazon sells the knockoff version. I can’t explain what it does.. best I can describe is it leaves a “matte shine”, if that makes sense. And ur hair is still manageable throughout the day. Def gives lift & greater volume if blow dried with mousse or a prestyler first.

Jack: I’ve had a thin bit at the front for years! I think it’s just because the hairs grow in different directions, like at the crown

Vintage Enthusiast: Your videos have increased in quality so much. You deserve way more subscribers and views.

steamroller82: Very honest and helpful. Thanks for posting. Liked and subbed!

Sam: My hair is a mess right now. It’s extremely dry but if I don’t wash it every day I get weird mineral buildup from hard water. Would you recommend just conditioning on days I don’t wash?

Ari Bari: If you're planning on regrowing your hair with medication, please do not pluck it. It will be impossible, or a lot less likely to regrow hair from follicles that have been plucked.

Jack Burt: Thanks for the video. Have you added minoxidil to your regimen ( I remember you bringing up that you were on finasteride). Minoxidil and dermarolling with finasteride will help a lot. Just wait 24 to apply minox after dermarolling, which I would suggest you do once a week with 0.5 needles.

Jake S: I’ve had a mature hairline my whole life

BeepBoop Bop: Have you tried Aveda Thickening Tonic? If so, would you recommend it over the Sidekick Zero? Or is there another pre-styler that would work well for people with thin and fine hair, like me.

Brainman 2331: I have a decreasing hairline as well but gel is the only thing that works for me. I have slightly curly hair but not curly enough to actually have a curly hairstyle so I straighten it out with gel. The way I do it is right after I take a shower when my hair is still decently wet, I apply super strong gel to my hair, make my hair look properly using a brush, let it dry and then brush my hair again in order to not have that wet, shiny look to my hair. Then my hair looks like I only used water but actually I spent a lot of time in front of the mirror in the morning.

TheHesK9: I'm 24 and my hair looks like it's receded quite a bit, but it hasn't moved at all for like 7 years since I first noticed it and my hair is still really thick. Not sure what's going to happen with it

Sohail Shaikh: Is mousse a better way to use as an pre styler for thinner & less densed hair ?

Matthew Espinoza: Loving the background of the video! It really adds to professionalism!

greveeen: Well thanks for stating the obvious solutions, like everyone dealing with hairloss didn't already knew about these tips

Anfield1021: His hair doesn’t even look bad at all. Looks good. I’ve had natural m shape ever since I was a kid. Kinda sad

Nasty Hardcore: But the idea of hair fiber like toppik is that they cling to your real hair to fill in. So if you pluck then you are reducing the effectiveness of those products if you choose to use them

AddictedToNothing: What if i have a long head , high forehead and receding hairline? If i make the sides short it would look even longer doesnt it? I had always long hair but i decided to make sidecuts for a cleaner bun but it looked awful with no volume . With my long hair i had serveal jobs as a model but know im very disappointed with my looks. Any tips? :D

Mario Hawl: The only permanent solution: Step 1:Use minoxidil and dht blockers to stop your hair from falling. Step 2: get a hair Transplant to cover the areas you lost the hair. Problem solved.

58_Mehuzael Dazel: I always felt insectire about my hair line .....i finally solved it by growing long and getting a curtains undercut

James Jenkins: Ben I think you should touch upon a high hairline vs receding hairline video. If u need an example of a high hairline that isn’t receding I can send u some examples.

EMF Raridades: Mature and NW2 don't look bad, but damn a juvenile hairline makes A LOT of difference in out looks. We don't even notice because is minimal, but It does.

Samuel Evert: “When you shave your head, all parts of your head have an equal amount of not having hair” this is hard hitting stuff. Idk if the world is ready for this

Vinícius Anacleto: My hairline is just like yours but my hair on the front is very thin and because of that I can't create volume. Hair loss sucks.

Sctt: Best method I've found- Use rogaine, wash your hair every 2 to 3 days with good shampoos like Alpecin, etc, and the best part.... use toppik hair fibres with the spray nozzle. I'm just over a month into regaine mainly to try and help strengthen my temples. With the shedding phase, the toppik hair fibres really helps with coverage. Combined, your hair will look much thicker and like you have much more compared than when you step out of the shower. Until the regaine kicks in, toppik is a lifesaver but will probably continue to use it as it just generally helps. Bit of decent hairspray holds the fibres in no problem

Beats By flozzart: I actually don't have much Hair loss (24yo) but my hairline is naturally Kinda weird cuz it protrudes a Lot in the middle of my forehead. I have Long curly Hair atm but have been thinking of wearing a Crew Cut/Drake Like Hairstyle for quite some time now but Not Sure If It'll Work with my hairline

JC: Yo ben have you tried blow from by vilain? i think you will like it since you use hair powders fairly often

redwolf481: Ben, I know this is gonna be hard to believe. But you can regrow your hairline and maintain thicken it naturally. Look into microneedling and dermarolling the hairline. Not only will this be great for yourself I promise you'll want to share it with your viewer's too

PerceptiveNomad: Great video, Ben. Surprised that you don’t have a million followers already. Keep up the great work. Would be nice if you can put up an actual haircut video. Maybe collab with Beard Brand or Regal Genteman ?

gaurav passi: Big forehead + little receding hairline from front + dht patches + silky hair(doesn't stay at one place even in slowest wind) = sad life

Kxni: Great Video but can you help me what Shampoo you recommending for dry Fine hair ?

Lewis: I've got thick hair and a widows peak and I'm growing my hair our. I want long hair before I loose it. Always had this hairline so at least I'm not losing it yet.

Z Car: I remember seeing the hair in the spray can on TV. That could work too

brandon martinez: Maybe it was just a coincidence or something but getting a side part actually starting messing up my hairline. I know you're saying that it could help hide it but I feel like there's a chance it could make it worse. My hairline starting receding after I got my part.

ReaveShot: "I dont have the greatest hairline" bro, you're lucky. lol

Account User: What I hate about a receeding hairline is how it makes the head look ROUNDER!

Johnathon Castro: I got SMP done on my head and 100% love it. It looks like i have a shaved head but not like skin bald.

Nube: This is the best video for this topic. Thank you.

Bruh: I don't have a receding hairline, but somehow almost all hair on my top are going thinning and receding in term of amount.

p.p": I've had an "M" shaped hairline ever since I was a young kid. Must be genetics, but it is what it is.

Akalion: Keep your hair on top longer so you can cover one of the sides

Mykyta Polyakov: Brilliant video. Thank you

malhar jajoo: These are some good tips, I had been thinking about them myself tbh.

ofashodo: Think of it as a blessing. Honestly, fuck hair. My hair is thinning and I'm not really missing it at all. I shaved my hair short most my life just for the cooling and comfort of not having a bunch of hair making me feel warm. You have to shampoo it and then style it or do something with it. Shave it and embrace the freedom. Hair is for girls.

Benfica M: wow. seriously i would've never know that your hair is receding.. amazing stuff man.

art5t: combing too much also can increase hair loss

Ian Michael: I shaved my ass with my electric razor, I collected the hair in a small dish, coated them all with a spray on glue/adhesive. I took that ass hair and put it on my head. No one noticed. It works.

The Basketball Historian: You shouldn't pluck your hair. It's going to permanently damage the hair follicles and eventually prevent them from ever growing back. And someday, you may want to try to lower your hairline through surgery or medicine yet you plucked away many hairs to death. I think it's better to shave those hairs or use hair removal cream like Nair.

AussieSoulSurfer: My hairline is not receding however I’ve got high peaks which I hate

James Goodwin: Man if this guy is having issues with this hairline now, I can’t imagine what he’ll be thinking in 15 years. He looks he has a full head of hair.

Clément Caumont: Thank you. Before wax and after powder or vice versa ?

joshua pratama: Me combating my receding hairline by getting a perm... These curls.... They hide my receeding hairline perfectly...

Yash Mayekar: thanks for making the video ☺️

Taylor Million: Haha this is funny when you assume people’s hair is like this.... my hair is ridiculously thick on the sides and it grows straight out. You cannot comb it down or comb it at all. Also, my hair on my cowlick also grows straight out and you can’t comb it. So basically I have to get a retard haircut to cover up my fucked up hairline

Horacthy: Man i just grow my hair and beard i realize that i got that jason statham look from the movie revoler, turn out i like this because it doesn't need much work, just be what you're meant to be

Bruce Lick: Do NOT pluck ur hair lol it can permanently be gone just saying ... use a clipper / trimmer like the one barber use don’t pluck

Victoryn: I'm 18 and have the same receding as this guy, but my hair is really thick in the front and overall over my head. I've had this since i were 16, should i worry or not?

Manuel López: I couldn’t use tweezers to do that, I’ve being getting more hair in those areas for being plucking it

david029014: should do a video on hair coloring tips for men, i absolutely hate my grey/white hair.

Ivan Lagrosa: Wow, out of all advising about hair loss, this is very specific.. nice bro, I'll use ur advice see if it's effective.

DRHReigns: Idk if I’m losing or not. I have really Curley hair and after I wash it seems thin but when it dries in a day or two it’s super thick. My moms does the same thing. Also get like 5-6 hairs on my hand when I shampoo . I just can’t tell with the hairline. I kinda think my is naturally higher. Always thought it was supposed to be perfectly straight across. I’m 20 now a it looks kinda the same as it did when I was 16 -17

John Keneth: Do not pluck your hair people. It damages the roots. We who lose hair want every single stray kept

Ring Dingers Worldwide: Thanks for helping me get ready for television

blue: been subscribed for a few years now. loving the content

ethan burden: ive got the m shape hairline but ive got thick straight hair which covers everything will it last ?

Moose the goose: Great video mate!

ScottyTaco: Lmao, look at my hairline. I've had a widows peak since I was a child. It's just gotten more noticeable as my hairline started to recede.

Decruz: Im still a teen and my scalp is easily seen. But i want to keep my middle part any tips?

Daniel Jackson: Do hairline transplants last forever?

Vargas: Fantastic info

daniel jefferson: hey man are you on finasteride to maintain your hairline?

Hamza Qureshi: I also have the thin patch down the middle. It's like a reverse widow's peak. The rest of my hair is thick and so it look's really thin down the middle especially when it's styled upwards or slicked backed. Is this hairloss or just a wierd hairline. I'm 18.

vsslsmchlks: Jude Law has to be the only dude whose massively declining hairline looks badass

DeanD6794: Great video Ben. Get back to posting weekly!

Barışcan Yılmaz: Hair looked great back in 2016!

KOSTAQue: Are you still using finasteride?

Susie McCallister: Idk why he's even complaining about his hairline, it looks great.

Caleb: I’m 17 & my hairline is getting worse & worse my dad was balled bye 19 & my brother has alapicia (can’t spell it) & I’m pretty certain all the men on my dads side are balled, my hair is pretty long up front & I can usually hide it but it’s getting bad would longer hair be better for me??

Xuan Cong Nguyen: Thank you for your video. Can you give some review about By vilain revolution ? Thank you

Yoop Andersons: im 17 right now and have been noticing some things that make me feel like my hairline is receding. not the most fun thing to be thinking about tbf. lol

Amit Tirkey: I subscribed you because I am getting inspiration while watching you

MarcoGlo: Bleaching and dying my hair made my hair a lot thinner don’t do it guys

Kalle gran: Using forceps on the hairline is the worst thing you can do.

MrTyrant258: It’s too bad those hair products mentioned in the video are hard to find and are expensive.

Bijoy the wimp: Is it just for me that Ben looks like Carl Sagan with a short haircut

Muhammad Fauzan: What types of hair product, so thin hair like those can have a strong hold even if it is sweaty?

Borytaw TV: Good idea!

Luke: reckon you'll go get a buzz cut any time soon mate? I bit the bullet a couple of months ago... Pros: More spare cash, doesn't look as bad as I thought it would Cons: Now a few of your uploads are less relevant to me (but I still watch and support them)

Eric Castellanos: Do you think I should keep using monarch paste by blumaan?
