This hairstyle is all about texture. It'S all about movement with a matte finish, and in this one i'm going to show you how i did it hello hi. How are you so? I had my hair cut four weeks ago, no longer six weeks ago, it's the shortest. It'S been for ages and i've been styling it differently. I'Ve been posting pictures on instagram, i've been doing reels and tick, tock things. If you're not following me, come and say, hi and actually a lot of people have asked how i've done it. So today's the day, i'm going to show you how i've been styling it and so the cut the cup was done by ben at murdoch. Um i'll link everything in the description, but this is a four back and sides which is super short for me and then a scissor cut on the top, but this is all about texture, so this is all about movement in the hair. It'S all about this definition and the products that i've chosen are to really make the most of this. Now, if you're new around here and you're, wondering who is this guy, then hi, i'm robin this is man from self. If you like videos like this one, also fragrance reviews street styles and what else already restyled uh hair product reviews all of that good stuff, then press subscribe right now: okay, my hair has been washed and it's been towel. Dried, i'm gon na first start by comboing. Two products i'm going to take a thickening product bumble and bumble: go fig. Thor fig, go big thickening, tonic thickening treatment and sasha 1 ocean mist thickening for my fine hair lots of it. But this is going to boost the hair and then the ocean must just give it a bit more texture if you've already got fairly thick hair, then maybe just use a sea salt spray. Some of my favorite sort sprays i have put on my website man from stuff.com again everything linked, but i just love a little boost. Okay, the hair has now been dampened. I'M not going to grab a hair dryer at this hair dryer i have been using and i put a review up. This is the zuvi halo. Oh it's too short the zoopy halo. This uses light to dry the hair i'll, give you a link to the review. It'S not cheap, but i do like it. Okay, i'm gon na blast, the hair medium heat fast speed. I am being quite rough with the drying, i'm really using the flat of my hand to kind of work it in. This is also going to give it more of that movement. More of that texture. More of that definition, and really activate that salt spray that i've put into the hair. Okay, choppy definition finish on a cold blast of air. Always if you have been here for a while, then you know it's going to seal the outer cuticle of the hair, which is going to make the hair stronger. It'S also going to increase the shine so just push in the back button. Okay, there we go loads and loads of texture, but we want more, we've got more texture and we want more holds so i'm going to go over the top with a little styling powder. Styling powders are great they're, really going to give you that sort of matte, texture and definition there's a few ways you can use them. I did a whole sort of product series if you are new to hair products and you're wondering which products right for me. What should i be doing, then, the product series all over the links today the product series up there, it's going to help you clays paste, potties waxes pomades. What are they? What do they do? There'S also powder in there. So i'm just going to go. I mean a bit theatrical there, like that i like to do into my hands, because i find you get more, you get more control and i'm just going to do this sort of pooling at the hair. Now powder is always going to have that dry finish. If you've got super short hair and you just want something with a little movement but something's still quite natural powders are great for that. I really like it when guys have sort of a super short crop, then they've got the small fringe. These sort of powders are fantastic for that, and also powders like there's not much in them like the cheapest ones. The most expensive are generally the same, this one's kevin murphy. So it's not exactly cheap, but i think it's, my third one and i do love it. Okay: next, i'm gon na use a little bit of clay, i'm using moroccan oil texture clay. This is a great hold, but it's still got that matte finish. So there's absolutely no shine and it just really works with this highly textured hairstyle so start with that always into the hands and warm it up. This hairstyle is also on manfromself.com with loads of hairstyles. If you're looking for a new hairstyle, you can filter down by your hair type your face shape. You can look at celebrity inspiration, but it's going to tell you what to ask your barber and it's also going to tell you how to style it yourself at home, and i put my own hair cell up there, so that should be helpful. Um i'm going to just brush forward with the hair, so this is going to be the underside of the hair, just coating it and you can start to shake it in god. That'S a look, isn't it i'm going to take just a touch more and then i'm going to work the underside so scoop tugging lightly at the hair and then shaking the sides in this is when the cut really comes into its own. This is really around the cut. You'Ve got to have that sort of point cut into the top of the scissors are pointed down, and all that texture is put in you also just need to have the shape already there. You can't just kind of do this with any old haircut and actually the rougher, the messier, the better go on forever. I'Ve always been such a perfectionist so actually having the messier hair has made me just relax. I say slightly more and i'm gon na go with that messy messy textured loads of definition really pulling at the top, and that is it there. What do you think? Quite a departure from my old sort of sleek, very uniform kind of polished hairstyles, but i'm enjoying this and actually it's kind of perfect for summer here so a little bit more relaxed more of that sort of beachy movement and i think great with this shirt. So there you go. Thank you very much for watching really hope you've enjoyed this one. I will put the links to everything below in the description below there's also a link to the hairstyle page on mamfromself.com and if you're still new to this you've still not pressed subscribe, then hey come on seriously. Press subscribe right now. The button is there. So some more video suggestions than there um the playlist, with some of the cards up there and all linked. But until my next new video, bye-bye

Robin James: What do you think? I'm doing some shorter videos on TikTok. Come say hello, please: @ManForHimself

REDEMPIRECM: I think this is the best haircut you've had so far. It's timeless yet playful, versatile and not boring due to the more messy texture. Wouldn't call this a matte finish though.

Jear Bear: I feel like you needed a hairstyle change and this was definitely it. Short hair looks so good on you!

TheRealGreenPlatypusRoblox: I absolutely love your hairstyle and it's perfect for summer!

Toby L'Estrange: Hi Robin i think this looks amazing! Certainly my favourite of your hairstyles so far. just looks so good

Account’s Equity: Looks awesome! This will def be my haircut for the summer.

schwarzblatt: This hairstyle looks fantastic on you. Makes your eye color pop!

Faraz Rahman: I switched it up to a similar style last summer! I think that I was very used to pushing it back/up rather than forward at first but the style comes off better with a more aggressive tilt.

Brodi: This looks so good! Thanks for sharing this!

Çağan Yılmaz: I just got the same haircut, wonderful tutorial to explore it! Thank you very much ‍♂️

Gina Kearney: You're looking great, Robin! Happy to see you thriving and continuing to grow your brand.

Swiftyy: Do the pre-stylers you've used (the thickening spray and ocean mist salt spray) have heat protection in them? Or should you also use a separate heat protection spray?

Lumixkong: Really suits you. I'm gonna have to try and get a similar cut myself. Love it.

APTC APTC: Thanks for a textured volume video! I know a lot of us have asked how you combine a thinking tonic and sea salt spray!

Shane: This looks spot on, really big improvement I think.

Sunny Goodman: Looks fantastic!

Avinash Bhunjun: Short suits you! Looks nice and refreshed

linegrinder: I also use the Morrocan texture clay and have thin hair but I find it pulls the hair A LOT when applying. Even if I apply very little and in stages and layer it ontop of each other. How can I avoid the pull and tug? I usually apply to dry hair.

Jonathon Freelove: Really good cut , currently toying on getting my own cut and having shorter fringe

asapnapster: Amazing videos with incredible information. Could please review victory crown pomade, and black bean grocery pomade?

P Mishra: Damn dude! This hairstyle looks soo cool. This is what I want to achieve. Only problem, sea salt sprays aren't available in India dang it!

DamnFineCupOfCoffee: Looks fantastic

RetroRyan83: Ill be honest, your past cut is my preference, but it does work on you and always fun to have a change.

Sarthak Dutt: Hey Robin your Finally after so many years of following you , your hairstyle looks like mine .

avijit jha: Hi Robin, how are you. Completely off topic but since you don't respond to old videos I had to ask here. Since you have highly recommended aveda thickening tonic and KM anti gravity in the past, I'd like to know do they serve the same purpose. If so then which is better. Also can they be used togetherness. Thankyou.

Kawsar: Dope hairstyle! I wish I had a good hairline..

Keith: Loveee it dear! Happy Pride!

moghaddam2002: You should try Bumble and Bumble Surf spray. I think I prefer it over Sachajuan ocean mist.

Garrett Johnson: More hair style videos!

João Vale: Robin, i’m confused, can you help? Bumble and Bumble sells two different thickening sprays, the one you show on your video and the “Go Big Plumping Treatment” which one do you really recommend? Because you show the “Thickening Spray” but you say “Go Big Plumping Treatment” which is a different one.

Kristofer Šuba: I claim the energy of this video for this summer.

Oran Maguire: I love your videos is there any chance you can do a video on how to achieve footballer Declan rice’s haircut

Fernando A: Hey Robin. Just wondering, what makes a good barber/stylist?

OriginalXzo: love the channel!
