What'S good everybody, it's your main girl man, I'm back with another episode, looking like a maniac, so the series called cold girls, which is your curly hair winter survival kit in today's video, I'm gon na be getting nitty gritty and a little specific on the do's of The bones: the rights of the rooms, the good, the bad, the birds-and-the-bees of what to do to your hairs in the winter, certain routines techniques and products will make a huge difference on your hair. If you are using be wrong once - and I will prove and show this to you by showing you guys 1 wash date, that goes completely wrong. I have very dry, very frizzy hair that did not last beets past two three days and then one wash day that led me to these wallace moisturize stop to find beautiful style. How does she do it? You ask? Well, let me show you without further ado: let's get to it. The first don't do that is going to be style, your hair, with the same old song routine, that you've been doing and expect to get the same results out of your styles. Here'S the deal the winter sucks for our hair, the extreme temperature changes from the sauna indoors to the tundra outside creates havoc on your hair, and it is often the main cause for your hairs to dry out like this number. Two. What you don't want to do is neglect your hairs, and I am also done here. This is what you can expect shortly after wash day, if you forget to protect not just forgetting to protect, but also by not nourishing your hair when it needs it, if you're noticing it starting to get really dry, then fix that fix it then in there, because The longer you wait, the worse things are gon na get damaged will be done, and it's gon na be much more work for you to repair that damage after. If you can even repair it, then if you were fix it, then in there number three don't really ever ever do not brush your dry hair. I want to do it. Your dry hair has poor elasticity, which makes it brittle. You will cause a lot of stress to your hair. If your hair can even take it, you would probably cause a lot of breakage. You will definitely be damaging the cuticle and resulting in more split ends. So don't do that ever just don't don't ever do that. One thing that you can and should do is prepare your hair and scalp when you are going to be washing them by doing a pre-poo treatment. Yes, if you are going to shower, you probably should do before you do that, but I'm talking about a pre-poo which is a pre shampoo for your hair, doing a pre-poo means to prepare and protect, protect, but protect your strands before you go in to the washing The detangling process - and it's going to be especially good for hairs that are very dry and brittle and basically straight up, neglected, there's a lot of different treatments. You can do for your hair to pre-poo, and a lot of them are DIY as a really good basic DIY treatment, applying heavier oils in the winter, such as sweet almond, oil, jamaican black, castor oil. Maybe some red pimento, hair growth oil as well, will help to treat dandruff due to dry flaky scalp during the winter months, and it will also help to protect your strands with the smoothing barrier allowing for easy, detangling and less stress to your hairs. Now DIY is a great option. It can also be very budget-friendly, but I personally prefer to use products that are already pre-made for me and ones like this scalp treatment, which I've been using for a long time now has coconut oil. It has castor oil as well as a bunch of other nourishing ingredients, so I would simply scalp massage my head with this and when I'm using DNA like scalp treatment to go in with the herbal hair mask on my ends, they both smell, really good and they Both have all the ingredients and want on my hairs or another pre shampoo treatment that I like to do, of course, is olaplex. Olaplex is not a conditioner. It'S not going to condition your hair, but if you have any damaged strands this will help to prepare your hair and it's still going to pre, protect and strengthen before you shampoo. So, there's a lot of options, a lot of different things to do, but what you do want to make sure you do. It is leave it in your hair long enough, so covering your hair with a plastic cap and, additionally, adding heat is going to help your treatments to seep into your hair. Another option. If you want to get really fancy and do really deep penetration, you can use something like this, which is a very nice and warm thermal hair cap. This one's from hotheads - I heated up in the microwave, put it on your hair and just let that do its magic okay time to wash this out, don't wash your hair. What do you mean when I say don't shampoo, I'm referring to like a thorough wash? Don'T shampoo more than I mean everyone's different, you do what you got to do, but you probably don't want to shampoo more than twice a week maximum and you guys know I love washing my hair and I'm not a police on sulfates either. However, you are best to wash your hair less or use. Sulfate free and just more moisturizing shampoos in general. Using co washes aka conditioner washes. This is my favorite Kalash. This is the curl quenching conditioning wash from Crosman use these more often you'll get a nice gentle cleanse, while also conditioning and nourishing your ends. I love when things royal, you will still need to clarify your just not as often and when you do deep condition. This is not a joke if you live in dry, cold weather. However, if you have hair that is magically healthy and you're not living in the driest of times, then you can get away with not deep conditioning like crazy. However, for me I am deep conditioning every single time that I'm using a shampoo - and I am also leaving it in okay - so I am back, did a little face beat for you all clean up the disaster in the washroom, I'm sorry Amanda. I also used your makeup Amanda and it might not have been the right shade for me, but it's still pretty cute and it was the perfect opportunity to let the deep conditioner sit in my head, which I will now be rinsing out, but not completely. Don'T rinse out all of your conditioner. Many of you may already be doing this and I want you to take this tip with a light little grain of salt, because if your conditioner is stating to thoroughly rinse, then you should thoroughly rinse. We don't know why. But the company is telling you not to do so, so don't do it it. However, on the bright side, there are a lot of conditioners that can be left in. In fact, some will say specifically that you can use it as a leave-in or leave a little bit in, or they won't say anything, and in that case it might be okay. The idea here is to leave some slip in your hair, leaving that a little bit of moisture left in your hair is going to retain moisture later on. So a lot of talking in this video, I'm losing it. So if you're going to choose to leave in the conditioner that you have my advice to, you is to give yourself a light rinse at the roots and then let that water pour down and squish out and squeeze all the excess conditioner. This will have to leave a little bit in without it being too heavy, or if you are going to rinse out your conditioner put a leave on leave-in conditioner immediately like no way don't let your hair dry for a second, your own. No, I I've got ta. Go I'm gon na go stop by here. Now, that's what I'm gon na do right now, I'm gon na rinse this conditioner out, although it looks great like I could, leave a little bit of it in. I also want to note that I'm rinsing my hair out with warm water the best way that you're gon na walk in your moisture is not by using cold water, but it's by using products that are moisturizing that also have a nice little balance of protein. Remember these guys from the original winter routine. This is the AG fast food, moisture, leave-in and the mousse gel, just like the Eva and my C products that he used in this year's winter routine. These both have protein in them. No wonder they keep my hair stop to moisturize and they are also very low to glycerin, for it don't use products that are high in humectants. What is a humectant? I have explained this explicitly in previous videos, so a very popular humectant that you will find in most of your products is glycerin. You may also find a gobbing nectar honey. These are humectants that will attract moisture to wherever is dry and, as I've explained previously, what you need to understand is when the air is drier than your hair, because you've just extremely hydrated your hair. It'S feeling wonderful! Now it's gon na look great now, once you emerge from the home and enter the outdoors, you will be struck with dryness, so something you can do to combat. This is try to use products that are very low or have no humectants and use products that have more emollients. So I'm gon na begin styling. My hair right after rinsing, I'm gon na, apply a couple pumps of the fast food leave-in comb that, through section my hair and start defining, don't be afraid to use more product. Now you will see on the dope side that I am using a lot of product, but if you take the look at the consistency of this product, it is very runny, very watery, which is not a bad thing. However, water does evaporate, and so I can use as much as I want now and this water can leave my hair, especially because these products also have those humectants. I feel like that. Whole thing is done, hold that I think now there's some people that do that. Just to be like, I don't like to be funny when it comes to wasting product, I'm so many use it, then that will affect your longevity and if you simply skip out on product, your hair will dry out and it will become frizzier faster. So i brushed all my product through, but i'm gon na be taking things another step further, because yes, brushing your product through, can give great definition, but you need to be thorough with it. So i'm going now in sections and i'm going to be using my Denman brush. You may also want to finger coil. These methods are going to give you maximum amount of definition and the more defined your hair is the more the curl is going to last for efficiency. I Denton brushed my whole head, but for extra definition, I'm gon na finger coil, my bangs. I take this whole section here, so if you were someone that would typically use, let's say an even amount of leave-in to gel use, more leaving and creams than gel, but now you're worried about adding too much products. Your hair, that's gon na weigh it down. You can switch to using a mousse that has strong hold that will give you a lot of bounce and not weigh you down. Also, the difference between this and the Eva and my see is this: one is a stronger hold. So if you like, stronger hold, this is a really great option or use an extra strong hold gel, and because you have a lot of cream in there, it won't be as strong so you're, not gon na get crazy. Crunchy, hair regardless, but you'll still get good hold. This is the domed that I really don't want to do. I'M gon na get dressed, I'm gon na really bundle up and I'm going to air dry out. The worst is yet to come. Actually not the coldest day ever it's not that cold, so you're kind of what's going on out here, huh! Yes, as if we're not cold enough, don't let your hair get exposed to the cold if it is wet, the cold air outdoors will actually expand the hair shaft think about it. If you put water in a full container and you freeze it, the container will overflow ice expands. So if your hair begins to freeze outdoors, your hair shaft is going to expand. This is going to put stress on your hair. Cuticle lead to a lot of frizz and it can also lead to breakage now what else is gon na happen? If you swell up your cuticle, everything you tried to seal in is going to leave, including your hair color. If you color your hair, you will experience more faded and you're going to be a dry dull mess Wow, as I said before, do use emollients and seal that moisture in your hair, I'm going in with the Eva and 1c primer, like I did on my last Routine, I like to use this because it's also gon na give me some heat protection for when I diffuse, so I'm simply just spraying this around my hair, and I like that, it's in a spray form, so I don't have to disturb all the curls and definition That I just the way it don't apply oil to here - that's already dry and expected to moisturize. Hydration comes from water and oil and water repel, so don't be putting oil on your hair before you put water. Why are you dry? How did you get so dry? What what and the cycle starts over better luck next time, uh just shave, just share that now for me, when I'm defusing I'm going in high heat high speed, because we're here for efficiency. However, if you know me, if you watch my channel, if you've watched my defusing videos, you know I'm not afraid to use some heat when I'm diffusing now in case you're, the person, that's thinking what the hell Mel, I don't have a blow-dryer. If you absolutely must leave the house with wet hair, then be sure to protect your hair from the weather by concealing it, maybe tuck it underneath the scarf or a hat, and try to get back to warmth as soon as possible that day right there. Now we want to seal it all in fur boil still so the last thing you absolutely need to do is make sure that you protect it. You just put all of this work into getting it to look so fire, please sleep with your bonnet and or any other satin accessories, so that the style will last you and she still looks cute with it too. Thank you guys for watching. I hope you learned something new today and if you want to know how I'm going to be refreshing, this as the days go on then go check out the Refresh video. You can also see my update, you can see last year's winter routine and make sure you were subscribed with a little bell on keep watching all the upcoming videos. Manes by Mell: That's a wrap on the premiere! Thank you so much to everyone who joined me live, I had a ton of fun chatting with you guys. I hope I answered your questions and if I couldn't get to it this time, stay tuned for the next video<3 If you liked this, give us a thumbs up and share the video with a curlfriend suffering this winter to help them get through it too! Especially if you laughed, spread the laughter especially! Comment below what you want to see next, and we'll see you then! Much love from, The Seesters <3

kika lewak: I love this winter series. I’m learning so much about my hair and curls. Thank you for taking your time teaching us. :)

mylyfeizdance: "I don't like to be funny when it comes to wasting product...I'm still gonna use it." That's right girl we ain't about wasting money

Blush Curls: Mell: look at ma hairs, this is what winter does to the hairs Me: wow look at all that great volume

Lauren Elizabeth: I’m 10 months into my natural curly hair journey and since discovering you and your channel, my hair has transformed!! It’s not perfect by any means but following your routines and tips have made such a big difference to the way that I look after my hair and that is showing in how much curlier my hair is getting . Thank you ❤️

Yasmina Foale: I looooove that you actually went through the pain of doing it wrong on your own hair on purpose in order to help us. Great tip with no air drying out in the cold. I always did it and wondered why did it end up frizzy! But I must say that I tried both diffusing carefully and air drying in my house and I prefer the second because it always comes out more defined and less frizzy. Is there anyone out there whose hair looks nicer by air drying? I feel alone in this.

Andrea Plummer: You have taught me more about my hair than anyone ever. None of the women in my family have hair like mine. Came from the men. So, watching you has saved my hair! Thank you!

Amber Abbott-Farr: LOVING the cold durl series! So incredibly helpful for where I live! Winter came sooner than expected and she came in harsh! This series and all your other videos are always so helpful and super fun to watch! Thank you as always for your time and dedication to Texture Tuesday!

j o: Thank you, I learned so much from this video. Especially the whole avoiding humectants in the winter and not using the same routine I was doing in the summer. I had no idea! Can’t wait to try these tips!

sharkitty: I tried the Denman brush last wash day and I was impressed! I've also increased the amount of product while styling and my curls came out super hydrated. Long live AG's Fast Food Conditioner!

Havoney: Girl I don’t even have curly hair I have just some wave, but I still watch your videos because you are so funny and entertaining also I love watching curly girls do their hair

Forever Spinelli: Mel! I absolutely love you and I’m actually impressed to realize that I do most of these methods before I even found your channel... it’s all about listening to your hairs! They tell you what they need if you listen! ✨♾ #ColdCurls #ManeGirlMell

Warren Dobbins: Thank's for the videos Mell, I'm not a curly girl but I'm a curly guy trying to make my way in this curly world. Keep up the good work!

apukapak: thank you so much mell! i will be applying your advice to my next wash and go and fingers crossed it works because the moment i figured out my routine to perfection, weather changed drastically and now my hair is a dry frizzy mess and i'm so confused. your videos are always so informative and entertaining at the same time - perfect for cold cloudy winter days! thank you for your and amanda's amazing work:) all the love:)

Giada: hey mell, thank you for another amazing video! i have a question for you this time. my routine consists in a light gel and then a curl cream. i usually put the gel first because i’ve had some bad experiences with gel and i want to avoid putting it after the cream, is this the right thing to do? should i switch the order? and i’ve thought about adding a mixture of aloe vera gel and almond oil (homemade serum) but i have absolutely no idea when to add it. could you help me? you are saving my hair with your precious tips and i appreciate this so much i love you mell!!!

Cheryl Ardis: I love how you need to tell people " dont dry brush hair" in this day and age us curly girls should know this. I don't think I was even told, common sense, brushing made me look like I was electrocuted

Crochet Addict: Best video so far. I respect those that actually commit to bad hair days in order to demonstrate the results. I love this video. Great editing, great content, great humor and fabulous hair! Even though you ripped that top, may I say it looks SO good on you! With that makeup and went to well with your hair color. I might have grown a girl crush here...

Christian Ferrell: Mell, you're fantastic! You have helped make my curl journey less frustrating. You explain things so easily for inpatient chicas like me. lol I think this year I've had the best curl year ever, thanks to you.

Jes Martinez: Thank you so much for taking the time making these winter videos. Learning so much.

LM: Hi Mell! Loved this video. Thank you so much! My curls are so much better in the winter months than the summer. The humidity is NOT my friend. I tried a lot of products, routines and it frizzes all the time.

Sammie: I love this cold curls videos! Last Friday I washed my hair with innersense and it's Wednesday today and my hair is still like day one without refresh or anything!! This was my best wash ever

A. Alvarez: Thank you so much for these videos! This is my first winter taking care of my curly hair properly and I just learned I've been doing so many things wrong

Chappysmom: Entertaining AND informative! I'm definitely taking notes for winter. I've got a question for you, though--how does graying change hair texture? My curls have definitely changed since I stopped dyeing them several years ago. (I'm not completely gray, but my hair is definitely in the Taupe family these days, not so much with the dark brown anymore!) I'm still trying to figure out what works best with my curls now that so much of my hair is gray with its different texture.

stephanie santos: y'all BETTER like this video for the sheer amount of effort it probably took to film this script TWICE and spend two days showing the dos and don'ts for this video

ASHH: You are heaven sent for us curly gals!! Thanks Mel for all the tips, Keep making these informative videos. LOVE LOVE LOVE <3

Anne A: Thanks for all of the great tips! My hair is similar to Amanda's and I was wondering what's her go too for winter deep conditioning? Thanks! ☺️

Kiana Rose: Honestly the best curly hair channel I’ve found you saved my curls. I found by accident recently on IG your do’s and don’t of a wash and go I wish I can show the difference because it’s literally amazing. I’ve never got so many compliments on my curls before.

OLPTetJ5: Mell, you are stunning! I love your videos. I would love to see a make-up tutorial for the look you did in this video! :D

Marielle: I have wavy hair but you're literally such a life saver and explain everything very well. I've been wondering why my hair has been so dry and losing its definition. I'm going to try this routine next time I wash my hair and I'll try to update this comment to say how it goes!

Susan Beckius: I wish you could release your own product line that is categorized for us. Like winter line, spring line, summer line, autumn line or define it by climate. I feel like every time I try to pick the right products for the climate I miss something and wind up with the wrong type of product. Mind you this is totally user error on my part due to being too lazy to double check ingredient lists. Aside from that how freaking beautiful are you and your family!!? Y'all's skin is like porcelain. Sooooooo jealous. Thank you for all the work you guys put into these videos to help us!

DarkSilum09: I'm rather new to trying to take care of my curly hair. This is my first winter. I followed the tips in this video and I can actually run my fingers through my dry hair!! That prepoo step made my wash day go so much better. :) Thank you seesters for all the videos you post.

Tania Garrigo-Meza: I discovered your channel two weeks ago and my hair has never looked better during the winter! Thank you thank you!!!

Viole Bolomey: God, all my school years waiting for the bus at 7:30 am with my wet hair in winter! Well, at least now I learned and will take much more care of my curls. Thank you Mell for all your advice, LOVE YA❤

Shoni Doyle: Your wash day hair is honestly my goal! I'm at the very beginning of my journey to love my hair again and I'm binge watching all your videos and trying to learn. At the moment my curls are not very spiraly like they were because I've straightened the heck out of my hair for the last few years but I'm really really determined to keep those straighteners packed away and get my hair in the best condition. Loving your videos and your funny personality makes it so happy to learn and watch currently sat here with crispy curls but we will get there in the end

Onz: my hair always been good but never the same since I started seeing your videos, it became magical! still working my way through it and finding my right rhythm but still thank you! You are the only one I watched for curly hair walkthrough who actually I learned from and benefitted from.

YMac: Love the “Don’t do dat”s ! Thanks Mel, I’ve learned so much about my own hair and what to do with it ! And you’re so funny and entertaining! :)

Rasha Sharif: My first curly winter! I appreciate the do and don’t.

Raizel C: Dang! This was helpful as hell! I just moved to a cold climate and never had to do my curl routine in this. Pray that I get through with healthy hair

Cee Cee: Hi Mel. I love this video. It was extremely helpful to understand about humectants, emollients and winter styling. Mel do you still recommend the Aveda damage remedy conditioner for curly, color treated hair?

JC7 Blessed: I can confirm day 3 texture tuesday is just as good as the premerie. And seriously she could simply sit infront the camera and give these helpful tips but the commitment she puts into these vids outfit changes, sketches, demonstrations, video editing, and I could only imagine all the bts prep it really is a small production In the words of the legendary Martin, " you go girl."

Angel Herrera: Yes!!! My hair is always more dry in the winter too! I use avocado oil as a conditioning treatment before I wash my hair!✨ ‍

Khadrah hogerat: Thank you ! You really have helped me understand my hair and love and embrace it after years of hating it ! Thank you for everything you do ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Flora Coppedge: Because of you I changed my gel to glycerin free for winter. Yesss my curls look better thanks Mel.

Mermaidmom Oftwins: Hey Mell I'm new to your channel. I love your videos they are fun and informative. I have curls similar to your sisters curl pattern. I'm still in a "transition" phase in that I'm trying to figure out what works best for my hair/scalp. Which is a pain. But I'm going to follow some of your advice and see where that gets me. Thank you for your videos!

Kirsten Slingers: Ive been really struggling recently with my hair. Couldn't understand why my products weren't working. Went to check out the ingredient.... Friggin GLYCERIN. which is sad cos I just spent a bundle on products and I live in Japan so you KNOW the struggle is REAL. Thank you so much for you well informed videos!

Jesus Christ: Was here for the premiere Mell & Amanda always do a spectacular job. I would love to see a video on Hover Diffusing that doesn't elongate curls. This is a big issue for those who are barely curly because we get wavy from the weight of the water. I also am a strong advocate against hair oils because they repel water & can't just be washed out. If you have ever spilled oil on your shirt & used sulfates in your laundry detergent & it was still there you understand. I have helped a lot of girls drop the oils & butters because it was making their hair repel water. Their hair was soft on the outside but dry on the inside because it's dehydrated. Water is the only source of Hydration & it's more powerful than most think. I would love to have a one on one conversation on the topic if your interested ;)

justanothergirl 77: Thanks for the advice re silicones on refresh days Mel... I use low poo, I clarify regularly and don't use any silicones currently, so no build up here! I just think a silicone styler might help protect as I have high porosity hair.... so any tips on a type of silicone I can use in my styler that hydration can penetrate through on my refresh days would be amazing. Thanks! Ps. your hair is stunning today xx

Kaitlin Blount: I absolutely love you! My hair's are finally getting healthy!! Love the bloopers!! ❤❤❤

J Nelsimpson: I am so SO excited to have your COLD series....My hairs are making a list of your favorite things and making notes on low glycerin.....We need to FIGHT THE FRIZZ! Minnesota.winter......

Veronica E. Soto: Girl..you look more beautiful with that whole look today! I love it! Thanks for all the advices .

MrsHNKeller: Love this. ❤ Love all you do. Thank you as always for all the fabulous hair care! I would LOVE a makeup tutorial, and a winter skin care routine. Please and thank you.

Mtm: your tips have been really helpful, just by getting rid of products with glycerin I got rid of frizz. Your hair looks flawless in this video wow

Gr8tfulSissy: I only recently found your videos and I want to tell you that I am enjoying this, A LOT. I've spent a lifetime straightening my natural blonde frizzy hair. 2 years ago, I got on the CG bandwagon and walked around with drippy wet shlop head. I gave up when, after a few months of that crap, my Hubs looked at me in church and said, what the hell is wrong with your hair, lately.....!!!?? So, back to the blow dry and straightened hair. I don't know how, but I found your adorable self and your Seester last week. I gave it another shot, buying all the crap you bought and using the brush and the wet goofy brush and bonnet, oh man, the comments about the bonnet... It has worked. I got the diffuser I got the Goop hop conditioner and the finishing spray. Following your common sense approach I got the strands of GLORY!!!! So.... Ok, thanks for that, ok? Now, I'm a 56 year old woman, raised our kids and do good things. I'm not a weirdo. OK, so I was startled by your emotional video the other day. I am here to add my 2¢, with my motivation being to make you feel good about where you are at. What you are struggling with,, is work life balance. You are grateful and you are afraid of sounding like a diva. You should be proud of yourself. You have a good head on your shoulders. Do not struggle with yourself, girl. Always follow your inner voice. Lean on your support system and take care of yourself. Your emotion comes from a place of confusion, after all, isn't this what you wanted, right?? Right. Just not at all costs. Don't lose yourself in the process of becoming a big shot. BTW, I am a nice Christian lady with a smart mouth BUT!I live in a very warm place. I got a big house and you and Seester can come and stay with us and make a video and be goofy in a safe place. Let me know when you are coming and bring that fancy shmancy blow drier with ya, ok!? Ok. Now, let's get to it!!!!

Ebba Bringsaas: LOVING this series buy damn I get what you mean that your hair isn’t as amazing as it always is but I honestly don’t think it CAN look bad

Hanan: Amazing video! I don't know what I would do without you ! Thank you again Mell

Christina Colon: Love this! Gonna try all these advice to try and get my hair to be as bomb as can be ❤️

Miracle: I have thick Polynesian curls and I never knew how to style it or embrace my curls. So I'm always straightening it. But after watching your vids girl, I'm a try everything you did LOL thanks Mell. Love your vids. You are Beautiful and funny!!! Much love all the way from Sydney, sas!

Faith Kaminky: When she said "just shave it all" on the dont side, I felt that.

Rexhina Ruci: I spend 19 most informative minutes for my curls. Amazing video !

GG Pink: So much great info, will have to watch a couple more times. BTW, that honey/caramel new color you did looks amazing at the end. Maybe it’s the moisture + cute shirt + Amanda’s make up, but it’s absolute fire and popping more than usual!

Martay Corrales: I haven’t decided yet on getting a diffuser Each time I see you and how Fabulous your curls are , I so want it’s been years since I’ve tried any heat...I started my hair transition a couple of months ago and Thanx to you and your Seester my curls are starting to come back Love ya Chicas!! ❤️

A M: After 5 minutes of this video I understood that I HAVE to fully refresh my hair right now Thanks for reminding me, Mell❤❤❤ Helpful and informative as always

kelsey myszkowski: SO. MUCH. INFORMATION!!! I love it, thank you! When can we start hiring you for house-calls?? hahaha. I feel like I could use a week with you to absorb all this info and figure out my hair!

Kaitlen Coburn: PLEASE grace us with some make-up tutorials!! You and your sister's make-up is always on point, and I need to know HOW to accomplish your looks! xo

Mela Baheta: Hi Mel My hair is frizzy when it's wet what do you think I should do about it?

Zazzy Bandz: very informative Mell always entertaining!!

Shana Fishbein: The suspense is killing me! Never seen this before where there's like a placeholder before it goes live... but i guess i'd expect YouTube to have a scheduling feature by now! I do wanna say I've learned so much from you i can actually slap together a decent routine with what i have lying around by just understanding what my hair wants based on how it feels and how to adjust! I do have some of those Eva Nyc products on the way though, so excited! Need to get me a pillowcase though; hair's too short for my bonnet currently (chin length layered bob, kinda like Tiff!); the back doesn't have enough weight to settle back down...

Cheryl Ardis: I love winter for my hair. Here in the midwest it's cold and the air is soooo dry. No humidity at all. It's the only time I don't have to care about frizz. Though I do carry my Mothers own small bottle with me for a shot of moisturizer during the day. The dryness sucks the moisture out

Lea: Whoever loves Mel thumbs up!!!

Maria Stergos: Hey Mell, how ya going? I was just wondering after the winter season is over if you could do a much more in depth/dedicated video about humectants and how they make the hair react in very high humidity climates, and what are the best variety of products to use for this type of climate? I live in the Northern end of Australia and the weather is very humid and tropical, especially around the end of the year where it is our wet season. It is very hard to keep your hair looking at its best throughout the week in this climate! I know you understand! All my love hope you get the chance to read this! Love you and your videos! ❤️❤️❤️

Amy Brohman: So glad I found your channel! I'm looking into some Curlsmith products since they seem very well reviewed. The deep conditioner you're using from them has glycerin. Should you focus more on no glycerin in styling products for winter? Thank you! :)

Carissa D: Mel my hair gets SOOOOOOOOOOOO messed up after the gym i need a video on how to refresh after a sweaty workout!!

Itz_ Mia321: ahh you are a life saver not in just this video but in many others i’ve been trying to get my hair to work out and no matter what videos i watched or how many wash and go’ i’ve tried none have seemed to work and now i have these videos to guide me thank you and now i can get on the road to appreciating my hair more

ammeg: Loving cold curls ❄️ series already lol

a. randi: I just started working at Sally and this video is so helpful for customers that have your hair type. I have pin straight hair so I never know what to offer up as helpful. Thank you for this video. I may need to take notes haha

kapparhotau181: Even though her hair is not even close to my type her videos are very helpful. She has a great video on how to get more volume on hair with the right routine. It was like not in day for me when I tried it, as my hair is thin. I was weighting it down with heavy creamy products and combing my hair down instead of outward. I adjusted my routine and it helped a great deal.

Janelle Bailey: I do not live in a cold environment so I dont need to worry about the cold weather but I have loved watching this series. :)

Sai Harshini Badugu: your videos are always so thorough and helpful, love youu

StuckInTheLazyCorner Again: Whoa you are stunning! That top with the makeup (i think it’s good) is just wow. Thank you for your sacrifice Mell we appreciate you doing all of this for us ❤️

JD: Jessica Duran Hi Mell! I love your videos! I live in NYC and find it difficult to have nice curls in the winter so I love these videos! You mentioned in a previous video that you have high porosity hair; I have low porosity hair; would these products work well with my hair?

Beepboopsteponmyshoe: I thought we’re supposed to avoid glycerin during the winter, but the sheamoisture shampoo you used (which I love btw) has glycerin in it

Curly Dash: I’m so happy for this series because I’m in Germany now and it’s not getting any warmer, actually it’s getting freakin colder

Polly: Hi Mell, how about a video on thin fine hair and one on hair that is changing from your natural color to gray but isn't totally gray yet.

Kristen Tardio: I look entirely like the "don't"....on the regular. And so much info, so entertaining, and so many products!! Lol moisture must stay. I'll have to play this one back. Also, I've read that some proteins are also humectants. Should protein be generally avoided so not to risk a humectant effect in winter weather?

Emaan Serghini: Hey Mel, I'm afraid to pre-poo because of build up. Will the shampoo rinse it all out? If not, can the styling products still penetrate the hair efficiently? Your hair looked gorgeous but since my hair strands are fine, I need to make sure.

J Mangum: Yeah man...that dry ass air has my hair looking kinda dry in some spots. I actually follow a few of the tips you just shared so nothing too bad but definitely gotta make adjustments to my routine. As always, THANKS MELL❤

6372sarah: Everything you say about hair makes total sense love watching your vids for tips on styling curly hair & your humour is a huge bonus you crack me up

earthmama daisychain: Thank you, needed this!! Having problems and didn't know what to do!!

Nickolin26: Hi Mell!! really hope you can read this, because my head is spinning with questions. I live in a tropical country, humidity is part of my DNA practically. When I travel abroad to colder areas, my hair is perfect! I dont need to wash it, curls keep their shape, not a lot of frizz...so what's happening? And I use the same routine. How can my hair feel much better in winter and drier areas than my normal town filled with humidity? Thanks for all your help!!

Vanessa: HOLY HELL ! I didn’t even know I needed this video in my life ! Thoroughly impressed with my little knowledge on hair care. I feel a Manes by Mel marathon day approaching...

Diana, leonora Gonzaliz: Hi mell. Thank you you saved my hair. Always flat roots but the tips you gave its gone.thank you.a fan from the netherlands.
