Yay yay yay, let's go be hot off camera, come on. Welcome to my channel. This is chef tiffany. We love her so much she's, the owner of the most gorgeous salon in all of austin called damn glam we're obsessed and you may recognize tiffany from here. I, where her salon was also featured so excited, to show you this place. Salon is gorgeous welcome to dan glam. This is hi tiffany, so nice to meet you, and this is jamika. Who is one of tiffany's clients and friends who has the most gorgeous hair you've ever seen? Can we even stand how gorgeous this texture is? What does it feel like to be the stunningly gorgeous? Do you ever get tired, isn't it exhausting carrying the weight? We are going to be doing curly maintenance and hairstyles yay, it's okay, it's okay, honestly yeah styling! We did prep the hair with nurture shampoo, nurture mask textured. Hair often needs moisture just like it needs strength. Just like it needs volume, so any of our shampoos and conditioners are amazing for all textures of hair 1 8 of 4c. But in this case, because we were doing curls we wanted to do nurture nurture, has aloe leaf juice, it has ceramides. It also has our gorgeous hemi, squalane, um and hemi swelling just really brings out the best in all the ingredients that it's with. That'S why the hemi squalene is featured in all of our formulas. She has super malleable hair, so it can kind of pull out to anything it can be as curly as you want or less condensed waves. I want to enhance these curls as much as we can today yeah. So let's do curly curl curl curl! Oh, where do you like to part your hair in the middle? You do? Okay, let me just clean that up a little bit. Okay, there we go. Does that feel really nice and center yeah? Sometimes, if you just do like straight up partings, it can be kind of hard to like diffuse the lines. So you can see. I just did a zigzag part in here so, but we do like to section because it just is like easier if you're doing this on yourself, so i'm just going to clip this away. So let's go in with instant recovery serum first. The reason we want to go in with instant recovery serum first is: we want to balance the porosity of these curls. If you don't balance the porosity of the hair, it's harder for the curls to stay the same texture all over there's, also just giving your hair a big drink of water, because the ends of the hair have been on the head for so much longer than the New growth, we do want to kind of give the hair like some nutrition and that's what the serum does give her like more on those ends. Yes, it's so important to keep the hair super moisturized before you diffuse, because you're going to be putting hot air on cold, wet hair. We do me my patented favor of just holding. My wedding rings that i want to rip your hair out, love you! So much do the best. Just let me put on your finger. Let'S get like almost mirroring there, you go um, it's fine! I love that hello. Do you want some air drying for your life? Yes, so you can see, we are going to show you how much we're kind of using here you cut when you have curls, you really want that or you want a little more again. We need more. So when you have real curls and you are or when you're doing a curly set, you want to really distribute it. So i have this whole entire section and i am really getting this all up in the hair. I'M going to do a little more because you know what they say about our air dry cream. What do they say? It brings all the boys to the yard. It has our linseed, it has our, which is also flax, and it also has our chia. So those are our natural film formers that are going to make your natural waves really come out to play. I like to do this little thing where i like run it through the fingers so that it kind of like brings out its little like waves. I'M kind of just like shaking it after i run my fingers through it to kind of get it back in its natural state. Okay, so now we're gon na move our way up into the back. So i'm using about this much on this whole section. On my side and tip is using about the same amount, i'm rubbing it through my hands and i'm really distributing it, distributing it throughout the hair, using my fingers to work it, and one thing that emily taught me is, i kind of use like the channels of My fingers to kind of like distribute the product through and, as you can see, tiffany's doing you kind of work. Your way up, you literally want to hear a little bit of squelch in the hair like if you don't hear that squelch in your curls it's going to be frizzy. I can already tell you you have to have that amount of product in there for it to not get frizzy on you. How do you feel you want to? We can go in like the in quadrants and then kind of finger curl those front pieces that might have a little less curl in them and then, when you say finger curl do you like? I mean the weight like when you wrap it on your finger and just yeah. I love that i just like twist it only around the hairline really where it's a little bit more straight, because i don't want to manipulate her hair texture too terribly much. Oh you! Don'T no, i don't! I was going to like really manipulate the i'm gon na powder them just like in this first half inch of the hairline. Yes, anything that's a little bit more straight, adding a little bit of product to it and kind of twisting it in your finger yo when you do the finger curls should, i add, like more product to those areas or the same like because there are like the Front piece of my hair or a little straighter just for my key damage totally. I think it helps so sometimes on my hair i'll do instant recovery, serum or i'll do air dry cream. It depends, but if you see i'm taking my finger and like wrapping it around and then i take that little circle and i'm gon na take the leftover air dry cream that i have and i'm just gon na kind of like pinch it on the whole section And these curls that we're doing here is we're just twisting them and twisting them and twisting them around our finger and she's got this sweet little curtain fringe that we cut whenever she wears her hair straight a lot, but yeah a little curtain fringe is so cute. Like little faces, i love that i'm just going to do a couple of finger curls on the top. Just i don't want to get jealous. It is nice to do on the hairline too, in opposite directions, because that will provide a little bit more volume. If you're someone who has a straighter root and then more curl in the bottom of your hair strand, this is going to give you a little bit more volume, naturally, without really having to do anything too crazy to it. Love it it's giving cute giving cute. It'S still pretty wet. This is going to feel different than it does back here, because we have that bit of product in it, but that's also a good part about pinning it up when you're not working in those sections you're retaining moisture. Now. Do you like to put a little bit of music at this point? There'S a vintage concepts mousse, which we love and wool turner. This is how i try to do it to get it everywhere. I take it between two hands. Yes drop, your head back for me. Yes, and we just kind of like pat it love it and then we'll go in and just like, scrunch distribution of products throughout the hair is so important for curls. This is what makes your curl set last for like five days as opposed to like one day. So is the mousse adding like some hold here yeah, the also the air dry cream has holding it with the chia seed and the linseed extract, because it's their natural film former. So it's gon na help to create a little hold. What the mousse is going to do is it's going to give you a little bit of like humectant quality. It'S going to like keep attracting moisture into the hair from the atmosphere. It'S going to keep the curls really refreshed. It'S also going to give them a little bit of a springiness to them. You can already see how good it looks like you can already see that the hair is hydrated, it's happy. So now, when you diffuse tiffany, do you like to do medium, heat, medium speed and hover, and then once i get the outside dry i'll go in with high heat loads upside down? Let'S go ahead and start now we're going to start to just work a little bit of a tilt to get a little bit of like volume in our lives. I mean like a hardcore like tilt for your life. You better look at these gorgeous waves. I don't know why that [, __ ], christina aguilera song, just came in my hair or my head can't hold us down. Do you remember that dog she's, like some men, call us? Oh? Will you flip your hair upside down? Yes, queen give me all that good volume there's no frizzies happening on this hair. This way we're getting like all the hair off the roots, so whatever it hasn't, dried, it's starting to get dry and create that volume yeah. How did you get here? No, you know that song, no really deborah cox, honey, you're, also like gon na get a completely different result from diffusing and air drying, especially when you have texture like jamicas. If she were to air dry, it would be significantly different and less defined than when we use a diffuser on it. They'Re, both great they just do different things i feel like diffusing, gives your hair a little bit more oomph than an air dry will have you ever seen this little thing and you just like go in it and like lift it like this, a little using your Teeth, yes, i love that little thing and are you guys drawing it all the way before i knew how to style, textured hair, i used to be like only diffuse it 80 of the way and then let it air dry the rest of the time. But then i realized i just was never using enough product. I think it depends on how much moisture your hair retains if your roots are significantly more textured than the rest of your hair. Sometimes i will let that dry, because it's like air dry, because it's going to dry differently and more naturally than when you use a diffuser. It'S like, i feel like whenever you see how like juicy it was right after we applied product before we even got it. You know in that moment how good it's gon na look with you. You can't see any sectioning in your hair at all that zigzag gave us life. I did take mine down to like one pack like one instead of two like half the power. I almost want to put her upside down again. Yes, wow. This looks amazing. I like how the slime is, and it doesn't feel like too unrealistic. Well, yeah, i'm like too short. I feel like every time my hair curls really nice. I feel like it looks too short, but i don't feel like it does here. How amazing do these curls look? They look so gorgeous. So we have to get here. Nurture shampoo nurture mask instant recovery, serum all over the hair, wet applied air dry cream section by section did a few finger enhanced curls applied, some mousse did diffusing every which way side side back upside down we've just flipped up, there's a few little curls like this One like that, you can really see where we kind of set it. So all we're going to do to finish this off. We have a little bit more instant recovery. Serum she's got hers on her hand and we're just going to break up some of these waves. Having a little bit of that, like we love it, we love a natural frame. Yes, we love a natural frizz and when you're separating the curls are you like finger curling them a little bit a little tiny bit just to make sure that they still know where they came from you know: do you like giving them a little like be good? As you go, and the nice thing was that this actually really didn't take long, no, not at all like this literally like not even tv youtube timeout. This took like 40 minutes. Maybe, and can we just like let these people get a 360 view of these waves and curls? Look at this so nice and look at how you can literally like bounce and mold and touch these waves? They are not frizzing up and we used so much product and i do think that's one thing that people with all sorts of different types of curly, wavy hair, just don't realize how much you really need to use. They'Re scared, yeah it'll absorb it'll absorb and do what it's supposed to do. I normally like my hair strands are very fine, so i usually like shy away from using that much product. So i'm surprised by yeah how it's like not weighed down at all, so you could absolutely have more fun with this and put it half up, you could do half down. You could like even braid a scarf into this. If you wanted to, you could like take it back into like a loose little cute ponytail and then maybe, like flip your part over um. So there are lots of little. You could also take this and do like a cute little like on day two. That is an important thing we have to talk about tomorrow tomorrow. How would we sleep with this? We would do like a little silk wrap. You can do a silk wrap. You can do a pineapple. I love a pineapple, i'm i'm a pineapple girl, so you do that'd be like a loose uh. Silk scrunchie gathered on top of the head. You just don't want to over wash curls waves, like that's a really important thing for maintenance. I also feel like: silk pillowcases at home are really important for maintenance, then to take it out tomorrow. We would just mist with water and just get the hair like lightly damp. Nothing like not stopping. Okay, like like a nice damp like you, were outside when it was raining and there's all these little beads on the top of your hair and then you're not going to really and then you're, not really going to diffuse. That, though, you're just going to kind of like scrunch that in and like be about your day after misting with water, i would go back through with a little bit. You could do instant recovery, serum and air dry cream together, but i mean like a little bit like a p of each because on day two, you don't need as much, because all that product is still in there you're, just reactivating it. Okay, um and the water will reactivate it, which is great shake out these curls. I hope you enjoyed our curly maintenance and styling video. We did it. Should you just run past the camera and wave we'll do a quick little cameo, wow yay yay yay. Let'S go be hot off: camera come on. You

Jonathan Van Ness: All products linked in the description! ⬆ What look do you want to see next?!

Laura DiCarlo: I was so happy to hear/see that she has fine curls and that the product didn't weigh it down cause that's my number one reason for not using enough product! I am Italian and I have fine wavy/curly hair but I never get as much volume as I'd like!

Amelia Crofts Dailey: Omg! Can't wait to use these tips on my biracial daughter's hair! She's two and I'm a white (super straight-haired) mama learning all I can about unlocking her beautiful curls ‍♀️ Thank u, Jonathan, Tiffany, and Jamika ! xxo!

AngryCandy89: Yes! After almost 20 Years of relaxing my hair, I'm finally embracing my natural curls. This videos really come in handy to learn how to Style my natural hair

Bethan: My girlfriend and I are going to try this on her curls ❤️ We’re on the lookout for ways to make her feel beautiful with her beautiful, natural hair texture so it’s amazing to see this.

Alicia Renon: Stylists who understand curly hair! Love to see it! She and I have very similar curl patterns so I can’t wait to try this.

Tim Train: Congrats to JVN on all the hard work to get to this point. I've never learned so much about hair until the last 4 weeks since I've been binging queer eye lol. love it!

Amanda Meunier: Heaven bless you JVN for these tutorials which are extremely helpful for all of us curly people! Growing up my hair looked like a shrub because hair stylists were not trained on curly hair..I hope that the industry is changing. Red curly hair is a blessing but I had to grow into my hair after being teased as a kid for so long...ugh.. Thank goodness there are stylists now who are trained properly. In Canada Jonathon Torch has trained countless stylists and Curl Ambassadors is my go to salon. You're amazing JVN..xx

Stacie Robbins: Best and most helpful curly girl care video on Youtube! Thank you, Jonathan and team, for showing me how to show the love to my curls! Your wonderful way is so fun to watch, effective and appreciated. You go girl!

Mandi Wolfe: Wonderful! I recently bought everything in the JVN line (except the volume shamp/cond) and I've been wondering how to style my naturals curls with it. Can't wait to try this out!

Dominique Segers: I love that you gave us the information whilst demonstrating it. I'm a visual learner, so this was really easy to follow. I recently gave myself the unicorn/wolf cut, and now I am re-learning how to do my hair, because I haven't had layers before and I have been neglecting my curls. Will definitely use these tips on my journey to recovering my hair.

A Conundrum: I love you! I am a curly girl, too (3b/3c). I've struggled most of my life to find styling products, cuts (still a struggle), and basic general care. I had to learn by trial and error how to care for my hair. I am so happy to see curly hair finally get attention. There's been a curl explosion over the past few years. I just adore you. <3 Thanks for making this video.

Jordana Marques: even after constant studying and taking care of my curly hair my whole life this video still gave me new important tips, jvn never disappoints <3

Ari Rego: Oh my god can we just take a moment to appreciate how incredibly beautiful those curls were?

Diane Mary: Such great tips! Please show styling a 2b/2c looser curls also. And I agree with you, especially with air dry cream for my curly wavy hair my hair really likes a lot more of the product than you’d initially think to use! ❤️

Edith Baldwin: I love the fact that Jonathan is giving tutorials that also benefit WOCs' hair care.

Sarah Dickeson: Love to do curly styles but it takes so long. I usually end up “curling” my hair with a straightener. I also work out 2-4 times a week and the humidity from the shower/cap/sweat always make frizz. Any tips for doing this fast? Or keeping the curl defined after experiencing some moisture?

Kara Talks about Stuff: Love the tutorial!❤️❤️❤️ As a wavy who is super jealous of those ✨gorgeous ✨ curls, I was struck with (mild) pangs of envy every time you called her curls "waves"❤️❤️❤️

Lila Delilah: Omg LOVE the outcome! Your energy is great and I love seeing these curls POP hunnyyy

Melanie Quiroz: OMG thank you so much for the tutorial! I'm definitely going to try this with my hair. The information you put out about haircare I NEED in my life. Thanks

Jessica Chachra: I have a very similar hair texture to her and I’m obsessed with her haircut!! Any tips for how to ask for this at a salon? Thank you for the great video! ❤️

Ludmyla Vieira: Yaaass! Now it’s my time to use it with my curls ps.: I can’t wait to be able to buy your hair products here in Brazil

marianne b: Thank you for doing these videos! All 3 of you have gorgeous hair! My hair is naturally wavy and I recently got a perm. Are there any differences with the process or styling products for natural vs. permed hair?

Beautiful Afflictions: I do all these steps except the diffuser. I let my hair air dry or I put my diva fan on while I do my skincare. But I don't like putting unnecessary heat on my hair. My curls are EXTREMELY defined without the diffuser. This girl's hair came out beautiful though. ❤ Edit: I also have the luck out that my sister is a licensed hair stylist. She so taught me how to care for my hair that's right for me. She cuts my layers so it's the perfect curly fro and the sharpest shag layers with a fringe when straight. ❤

SheSha Honeypot: This is so helpful! My cousin and beautician moved away and I have no one in my area that I trust to do my hair outside of getting my ends trimmed. Thanks for the tips!

Kelcie Bean: Watching this and getting some tips for wavy hair too! I have a frustrating hair texture because it's thick and coarse, somewhat wavy and can even ringlet curl underneath from humidity in the summer, but then it's totally frizzy/dry/flat in the winter (I live in Vermont so it get SUPER cold and dry here in Jan/Feb especially). What tips do you have for folks like me who have sort of middle of the road thick/wavy hair that changes through the year?? I LOVE you so much JVN and watch you on Queer Eye as well as Insta!! <3

Savannah: Her hair came out gorgeous! Such beautiful natural textures! My curls are very mixed like this and super fine in some places (yay aging/birth control/heat damage/breakage), so the tip about not being afraid to use a lot of product is major for me! That's a big reason I stopped using hair gel, I felt like I was weighing my hair down and getting super crunchy in some spots but less defined and frizzy in other spots, especially around my crown. Love this tutorial and just bought a diffuser so I'm ready!!

Solana Rodriguez: You've inspired me so much to take better care of my hair, and I love your personality and how authentic you are. You are the best. ❤️❤️

Rosemary Gilman: You guys did an amazing job on Jamika's hair! Absolutely gorgeous!!!

Jerich Eusebio: Hey JVN! I'm a big fan! growing up I felt very insecure about my wavy hair and I would often iron it straight just to feel like I could fit in. It was only recently that I pushed myself to embrace my waves. Now it's almost as long as yours and I am struggling to find ways to maintain it + help it become it's highest "self", so to speak. This video helped alot! I hope you can make one also for the wavy folk.

Ohio State Girl: I'm so thrilled to see a new episode my love!!! Makes me wish I still had long hair. Can u please do one on short hair maintenance for winter? Love everything u do !! U make my day soooo much better!

Yes Ramirez: I just want to say that I am watching all the Queer Eye episodes on Netflix rn and I absolutely love you energy, your happiness, how you connect with each and every person and how funny you are. ♥️

Ariele Phillips: First want to say I love you and watching your videos make me come out of my depression when I’m feeling really down! I just love your personality and want to be your best friend Secondly I am SO glad that you made this video because I need to start embracing my naturally curly hair and had no clue where to start and this video really helped me out! I can’t wait to order some JVN products and try this

M. E.: I love how JVN will delegate, feature, and ask fellow professionals for their technique!

AdriiGuia: I was waiting for a curly vid because I'm in the middle of my transition and I have no idea how to style my curls after 17 years straightening it I'm literally learning how to love my natural hair again, step by step

Neo LeRod: I swear I manifested this video. I have all this curly hair, which is both a blessing and a curse, and I never know what to do with it. ‍♀️ Thank you Jonathan, for all the beautiful things you do for us. ❤️

Kandace Laswell: Ugh!! YAS!! My texture tutorial!!! So freaking happy!!! I can't wait to purchase these products! I love you Jonathan!!! ❤

Cara Burns: I had a friend in high school that hand curled her long curls in the morning. She had tighter curls than I do (I’m like a 2C) so I never even tried it. I wash, condition, and apply mousse or gel by scrunching. Leave-in conditioner seems to be what really works best for me. I never ever blow dry. My hair just wants to dry in a hot car with no wind.

thebluebloom: Love this video especially having fine curly hair this is great. Now need some basic day to day hair styles for curly hair.

mamii2seductiiv3: Thank you for these curly hair tips !

Linda Love: I have to thank you for being the only one to create a hair oil with your Shine Drops that is truly LIGHT. I can use it multiple times and I still don’t feel like my hair is heavy, greasy and stuck to my head. I have to go fill my trash can with heavy useless hair oils now

Katerina McCrimmon: Love this video!! Sharing with my sister with curly hair <3

Maddie Beck: Jamika’s hair looks amazing! My hair is straight af but I will watch any video you make! Love you JVN!!

kylee norfleet: Wow this is so exciting to see, I can’t wait to try these products on my curls ❤️

Maria Estefania Lopez: Hi Jonathan! I loved it! I am living in Switzerland and with changeable weather my curls are always a bit messy. All the best!

Jenifer Stewart: This video was so helpful because I haven’t been using nearly as much air dry cream in my hair when I’ve worn it curly. Also, I know you can’t do spoilers, but I’m hoping for some JVN mousse in the future!

Bethany X Blair: I’ve had so many horrible haircuts! Super perfect tips. I want to cry watching this because it makes so happy and hopeful!

Michael Widener: Hi jvn, i love your channel and your content, i hope you never stop making videos, your inspiring

Karim Soto: Such amazing tips! And she looked gorgeous!!!!

Viv Quinones: I am so happy with these gorgina tips! I have the same texture of curls as the girl in the chair. I am absolutely obsessed with these step by step videos.

Kim Nunez: I am so amazed at how her hair turned out! I always air dry my curls thinking the heat will dry out my hair and using too much product.

Camilla Sørensen: Im sooo happy you’re making videos about curls. I can never find a styling of wavy curls (not literal curls). I would love to see how you would style wavy hair❤️

Jennifer Loher: What a great video! I have wavy hair and wish I learned about how to take care of my curls when I was younger! I learned a few things today I'll be trying!

Table for Two Show - Phil and Jane: Yay! I finally finished watching all of your videos! Looking forward to more and seeing you on Netflix! Are your products sulfate free for those of us that chemically straighten our hair? Thanks! - Jane

R W: These videos have been so informative! I use the JVN Air Dry cream for sets and blow outs because I have naturally straight hair when air dried. However it's fine, thick, bleached hair and the Serum & Air Dry cream NEVER weigh it down! And when I don't do a set I drench it in the Serum while damp and it's SO SOFT & SILKY! Note: I use embody shampoo and alternate the embody conditioner and the nurture mask weekly and my bathroom smells like the most pleasant JVN SPA EXPERIENCE ever! Edit, can't forget the freaking SCALP OIL! How is it NOT making hair growth claims? Because my baby hairs are out of control thick now and I love it ❣

Onnie Pendergraft: Love this video, as a curly haired girl who went to no-poo, and switched to all natural treatments like amla, henna, butters, and oils I'm definitely interested in your tips and products xoxo

Savannah Bessette: I really need to have Jonathan give me a one on one I have so much to learn about my hair type and what to do that works best and don’t even know where to begin or how to know what’s working and what’s not.

Happy Twisting: Love this! Thank you for sharing!

Petal Evans: I just ordered the “trio” and waiting on it to try all this! Thank you

Charlotte D: I feel seen my hair is quite damaged after not knowing how to deal with my hair and burning it straight, now I'm trying to embrace my curls

Kayla Maza: Though I have completely straight, fine, oily hair and this video was not for me, I just watched this beginning to end because that’s how much I love JVN

Yasmim Matheus Phipps: My hair is wavy, not pretty little curls. My waves look cute on the bottom of my hair, but the top looks so frizzy. I wish JVN would make a video featuring wavy hair and his products! Love you sooo much!!

✨Mills✨: I have a 2 questions, Non- hair related: if/when season 7 of queer eye comes out, where are some ideas of where it might be? Hair related question: my hair never holds curls, even if I use hairspray, and lots of things. Is there a way to treat my hair or is it just the way it is?

Nkechi Nwokorie: Yayy amazing video love the curls . You should try a wash n go on type 4 hair next!!

Zhazira Kenzhekhanova: She is gorgeous! And thanks for this very helpful video!

Amy Roberts: I don't have curly hair in the slightest, but i just love watching you!!! I would just watch you reciting the phone book!!! You light up my world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jessica Cashion: I loved the demonstration! I was wondering if the same "more product is better" idea works for fine and spiral permed hair, since it's not naturally curly?

Precious Gonzales: I would love to see low porosity, high density, thick strands type 3 hair styling. Because my curls weigh down with too much product and gets so much frizz it puffs up like cotton Candy. I want to reduce frizz and define my curls.

Alex Blaine: On my way to buy these products now! What a great tutorial. What diffuser do you suggest for someone who has never owned a hair dryer?

GrapefruitAndChaiTea: Hey sweetie, I have really dry curly hair, but my dermatologist said it's better for my scalp (I have seborrheic dermatitis) to wash it everyday... any advice to make the best out of my curls while still washing my hair everyday? Thanks xx

eunoia: I had always straightened my curly hair but now it's like a flattened wave/curl kinda damaged. Do you have any tips to try and get my curls back to how they were before?

Ruby Beaumont: I love curly hair and I love you JVN! I love my super straight hair too but do you have tips for doing a curly look with super straight hair where it will actually stay? Mine lasts literally an hour and falls out

Farnaz: I've only tried JVN's air dry cream so far. It's one of a kind and amazing. (Like its creator!)
