I just went downstairs and I got some Starbucks, don't judge me and even when I walked in what's up Mississippi West Point South Florida. I see you guys in the building, so I was walking in and it's 20 dozen I walked in there. Everybody was like what's up Michelle and I was like hey and really - and I was kind of like just thinking about what I want to say to you guys about the subject: um cuz, there's so much to say, and I'm working on not giving you so much That it's overwhelming I was like this is, I have an outline and then walking into Starbucks and everybody saying what's up was like the clear example for me like that's what marketing is it's letting people know who you are and how you can help them and, and It requires you to have conversations alright, so understanding, hey Teresa, hey Angela, hey we're trees, Beatrice so listen marketing, people think make it this big thing or either you make it a really really big thing or you make it something that seems like it's a new event. Every time does that make sense. So, instead of looking at marketing as something that I knew, I knew idea a new thing. A new shiny object, every single time. I want you guys to understand that you can do the same thing over and over systematically and really get some great sales and business success. And so I wanted to just talk about marketing from that perspective, because I think it's so trendy now and there's so many shiny objects and there's so much happening that um. You know it seems overwhelming, and you think you need to go, buy something or go studies or become like something and at the end of the day, marketing is getting people to know you and so a prime example. When I walked Starbucks, everybody was like mush ahem and it's not because I'm some popular chick. It'S because I take the time to have conversations and I'm always interested in what people are up to and I'm very diligent and letting people know. You know what I'm up to, because I may be able to help them, and if I can't I may know a resource up, you know or connect them with someone so guys. I want you to really understand that marketing is truly. I see this is buffering hold on. Make sure guys can hear me. Thank you, guys are good, so marketing is truly telling people who you are, what you do, who you serve and it's not a lot of times. We don't like to market ourselves because you think that you're being braggy or you think that I don't know a bunch of things, but at the end of the day, is all about just letting people know that you're there to help them and that you have services That will offer them great value. So the idea, thank you guys. The idea for the day is simply to understand that marketing is not a one-time event. Okay marketing a little about my notes is not a one-time event. Everybody thinks that you know I'm marketing it this week and so then the next week comes and you feel stuck or you feel like. Okay, I have momentum. What happened? It'S simply because your mind is really you're. Still thinking and you're still approaching your marketing as a one-time thing and at the end of the day when you are marketing, it's an ongoing system, okay, so the idea for the day everybody put in the comments right now system system system put it in the comments Right now, system marketing is you have to have a marketing system? It'S not a one-time event. I want you guys you guys to hear me out when, if this applies to you, if you're doing business right now - and you realize that you know one week is good one week is it. I have momentum this week in the next week like what the hell happened, where the people, where are my customers, it's because you were doing your marketing here and there, and so one time you meant there. I did it on Thursday, you know, and so oh yeah. I do market, I sometimes there isn't a system in place. I see it. I see you guys Shameka Carol, Audra Stacy. I need you and driller, I'm Andrea, maybe a crystal Beatrice, McKay, Diane you're. Welcome so guys. It'S a system, understanding that your marketing needs to be in a system is everything: okay, because then, and only then will you start to see a consistency of conversations and the conversations will in turn. If you are really good at your sales conversation, it will turn into um sales, like a convert of that person will go from seeing your um marking marketing and then wanting to do business with you wanting to get your service uh. Let me see they make sure you guys are K, one second, one. Second, hopefully hey tinder. Hopefully I don't know what's going on with the Internet god I love it hate to love it um, so listen marketing is a system. I love it. So what do I mean by that guys? Let'S look up, let's be simple, super simple and look up um the word system, because it sounds really intimidating to some people and it sounds like you need to go, get something like really dramatic or some new shiny object and I'm about to break down for you System is a set of principles or procedures according to which something is done so young. I love a dictionary and thesaurus is just my favorite like, if you think about just think, just think about this. Everything in your life really that you want to be consistent, needs a system. Your relationships need a system like I check in with my parents, okay, how are we doing here? How are we doing there at a certain time at a certain week? I'M always calling I'm always having a conversation. That'S a system, it's just a process. A system is a set of principles or procedures according to which something is done. So it's simply same time. Every week I talk to my parents. That'S a system that I have to make sure that I'm in communication with my parents, so you know, if you're, if you're in a love relationship the same thing, you guys got a schedule, a lot of stuff. So that things, don't you don't wake up one day and go? I don't know that my partner is like you know that systems are what we need in our lives make up like. I have a makeup system so that I don't spend an hour trying to get my work. I don't have an hour, I don't even if I had I do. I don't want to give an hour to makeup. Okay, I don't want to give an hour to getting dressed at all. I just don't think that's a good use of my time. I'M like I got 15 minutes, so I had to have come up with a system that I'm constantly the key to your system. Let me just give you all one of the bullet points. The key to your system is that once you implement it, you don't have to revise it. So, let's get back to marketing marketing number one is not a one-time event. Number two: your marketing needs to be a system, and then number three key point. Number three is that you will need to update, evaluate and revise your system okay. So if you're, looking for consistency in your four customers coming to you, it's because you're marketing means a better system. That'S all that is the solution, and so that being said, you just go back and say: okay, what did I do to get these customers attention? What was the method or, like the definition, says? What was the procedure that I took? If you start thinking and step by steps? Oh, my god, you're like it just gets really simple. It really does, and so I just want you guys to know that marketing is not a single event. You don't you shouldn't, try a new marketing idea like every week every day, you're not going to have consistency. So you want to implement a procedure, a marketing procedure. You want to implement a marketing procedure that um you can write down the steps and, as you do the procedure, then you can update it. You can evaluate it. You can revise it as needed based on the results you're getting because you're implementing the marketing system. So I love it. I love it. I love the systems. I see you guys, writing it. Yes, system marketing system. Is everything love it? So that's the Nugget for the day. The homework to this is to really just review your marketing look at. How are you marketing? How are people, knowing your name? All I have to do is think about it. When I went downstairs to Starbucks, I've had several business conversations at Starbucks and it's because everybody knows me there. My system, for that is when I go in there. I speak very simple. Listen your procedure, your marketing procedure or your marketing system does not need to be some long drawn-out. Ten page google get a book on marketing figure out all this. It doesn't need to be something super dramatic. It'S just do what works and guys most of the stuff that works is very simple, so my smite, my Starbucks system right when I mark the way I'd market at Starbucks is, I speak to people and I genuinely want to get to know them. So I just ask them questions: how are you who are you? What do you do? Tell me about you, like all you do you live around here? What do you do for fun? I just talked to people and it's genuine, I'm not trying to fight sell them. Anything it's just genuine and if a natural conversation comes up - and I see an opportunity for me to serve them - hey I offer my services and so through me marketing at Starbucks, for example. Just letting people know who I am what I do in only caring about what they're up to it leads to things like we're doing um. I forgot we're calling it copy something where I'm basically going to be speaking at the Starbucks and we're bringing the community together. It'S a project that I'm going to be working on and it's so cool. It came about because I was having a conversation with one of the managers genuinely just wondering what they're up to in the world. What are their passions and she we figured out. Okay, we have some similar passions, so let's make this into something, and so that's marketing like getting yourself out there. People think with marketing it's like whoo. I got a market. Oh, it's stressful, oh, oh, I got ta, go get this new thing and I need this technique and I need it is really just letting people know it's a disservice. If you have something that you know, you can help people with it. If your hairstylist, if you're a makeup artist, viewer massage therapist, if you are in the industry of service - and you know that you have something that will bless someone and they need what you have, how dare you not give it to them? How dare you not have a conversation and get to know people so that you can help as many people as you can that's what more like marketing is not a one-time event. It'S not an idea of the week. You have to have a marketing procedure, and so the procedure can be very, very simple, so the homework is to really sit back today and look and figure out. What'S my marketing, how am i marketing? How are people getting to know who I am and what I have to offer them? That'S the homework very simple, very, very, very simple. So I hope that helped that gave you guys some value, but just breaking down marketing so that it isn't overbearing and it isn't um overwhelming it's just for you to understand. I love it. I love it. So it's just getting them to understand who you are and and how you can serve them and if they they're not your customer, then you ask them. Who do they know? People like it's just a conversation working starts with you having conversations right. So I advise you today homework if you're not having consistency in the people, if you're not having people reach out to you all the time for business, I need you to review your marketing process or your procedure. What are you doing to market yourself? Really get quiet? Really sit back and say: okay, how did I attract that client? If there's a favorite client that you have really go wait? Where did she come from, because I need to go back and get more of her or him? It'S that simple and its really being a waiter taking super detailed notes and putting everything that you do that works into a process so that you can continue to have momentum and success. Okay, that's what it's all about with marketing awesome advice, Quinn, Dolan, says otherwise. Yeah, like listen guy, that works. This is what I do. This is how I build my business. This is how I've built multiple businesses and um. It'S a conversation that has had all the time and people are stuck, and it pains me that people are stuck, and it really is us getting out of our head and taking action and having conversations and really paying attention to our actions as we take it. Because here's a little view just getting started, you don't know like you're, just testing everything, but even in your testing you got to have a system for it. So whatever you think you should be doing right now, write down, I'm gon na do XYZ then go. Do it, then, at the end of every day, write down how it's working as you're doing it? You update your revise, you evaluate and you keep getting better, but you have to keep a record of what's going on so that you have a procedure. Okay, that's very important in business very important in business if you are a service for beauty service, professional of your massage esthetician they'll, take hair, stylist, makeup artist and you're having inconsistencies in your business with your client with your cash flow. You totally can Gwendolyn literally, if you have some customers right now and you have a few, but it's not consistent. You need to go back to those customers and figure out. How did I get them what's serving them? I now have a business course online or I have to attract people on a regular basis. All of them do very well, and I'm telling you it's because of the marketing sector of my business. So many salon owners are not getting um, they have salons and their business is struggling. So many massage therapists have they have business. But it's just struggling it's it's type. The money is faradic, you want consistency, you want to be able every week every Monday, I call it money Monday's every Monday. I know I look. I can predict how much the minimum is going to be and there's always overflow on Mondays, because and it's all from a business - that's not like. Oh, I don't get a corporate check. So there's a way for you to have consistency in your business, no matter what it is. But first you have to be clear on the procedures that are happening, the the steps that you're taking to acquire customers and then you got to learn how to keep them. And then you got ta learn how to grow them. No one can do the work for you, so you have to be committed to do the work, but I can give you the information and one thing I love about. What I teach is because I like I'm, committed to taking um, really really big conversations and businesses and making it really really simple. I wanted to be extremely simple. I want my nephews to be able to watch my courses and start a business. That'S how simple I want it to be my kid nephews, so I'm really I'm committed to it. I'M constantly tweaking the group. It'S only gon na get better, but the question really is what would happen if I just keep doing the same thing? What happens if I just stop guessing and wondering if it's for me and I just go for it, that's like really good question right. If you're, just starting out, you totally need to just be validating that you can do you can take your friend as a model. Do the picture I love it, you guys are supporting each other on YouTube. So should I start doing here for free and get one free to build up Pam from Chicago? So listen when I started doing here, I was in my kitchen and I was just taking everybody for $ 20 $ 25 boom boom boom cuz. I wanted to build my skill up and I just wanted to get out of my comfort zone and, like just start with something, and I realized okay, I am kind of good at this. They want to come back now. I have validation. So now I need to market first of all. Now I need to get a license. I when I got my license and now I need some market, and so I'm marketed like crazy and every single day my marketing was a system. I had a time place. I wouldn't did it and I didn't to do a new activity every week. I did the same thing four months until I look up and I'm overbooked and that's a good problem to have, and then I just figured out how to get unlike figured that out and then but one to the next level like there's levels. And so you got to say it you're right level and do the right activities so that you can see results. So if you're, just starting out it is all about acquisition and validation. You want to validate what you're doing you want to validate that somebody wants your braiding service, your massage service, your esthetician service. I'Ve had people take my course and saying I love this. I love the fact that I realized this is not what I want to do, but now I have the knowledge and I can apply this knowledge to another industry. Some people don't need to be hairstylist. This is me real, like what this is cool. We don't have to feel bad about it. It'S just a matter of you want to make sure you're doing the right things and you want to fail fast. You don't want to spend all your time wondering if I should jump in the game wondering how what I'm aware what I'm saying where I'm gon na go like you, don't want to spend all your time. You just got ta fall into it. Just like you know like on the phone all those sitcoms when they you know they just fall through the roof. They were doing something and didn't go right, mixing they just but just drop into the room, but you just guys how you got to fall into the game. You just got to like fall down. You hear this yourself, all I'm here. Okay, let me figure it out. That'S what business is really at the beginning is all about. So, okay, if you're reinventing yourself, it feels like that if you're just getting started, it feels like that it's just school, what's up Lorenzo, so we need. Oh, you guys text this number. That'S why I'm so heavy on here for free teaching you all of this stuff, because your mentality has to change, because your inner inner, like the inside your inner world, creates your outer world. So what you see around you is a result of what you feel and I teach about vision all the time because in goals and all these different things, because it's what you have to have, I want you to start thinking. I want a mindset shift and a mindset shift is an ongoing process, because once you break down one mental block, there's another and once you have one level of success, there's a wall that you hit. So that's why you always need coaches. You always need teachers. You always need this information. You always need the positivity, because the media in the world shapes it like. They want you to stay in to the stupid, foolishness that I talked about this morning. If you were on my live chat this morning, they want you to be drowned out with the foolishness, all the news and media and bad stuff. I know this probably doesn't have anything to do what you're talking about, but I graduate from hair school 2015. My school closed down. I finished out my hours I needed to take care of. I was taking care of my grandma. She ended up all sorry. You lost your grandmother. I'Ve been stuck trying to go to state board so that, first of all, sorry for your loss. Second of all, I love when we know what we're we're stuck, because it's just a matter of implementing a system, a procedure, a plan to get to stay board. So what do you need? What resources anytime? There'S something that if you feel stuck the question is what resources do I need? Who do I need? What do I need and once you write that stuff down so for you going to stay bored, do you need to study if so, who's gon na help? You study first, a board: that's your first step, figuring out how to get back in the swing of things after that you're lost after just kind of being knocked down. It'S okay because everything that happens to us is for us, even when it pains so let the loss of your grandmother be your fuel. Let'S talk about legacy, my grandmother, she left to me like the way that she taught us hurt her dignity. Her pride, the way that she was as a woman, her cleanliness, all of those things - that's legacy work, so I want to make sure that she knows that I'm still carrying on her characteristics, her traits the things that she taught us about being diligent about going to Work about giving to others about serving people, that's who my grandmother was, and so, if my grandmother was anything like your grandmother, she would want you to keep going. She would say: don't you give up baby, you got to keep going, she would say what you got to do. What do you need? Some of us are feeling stuck, and the question is just what do I need? What do I need so, if you're needing to take your state board? That'S your question: what do I need? If do I need more resources? Do I need to study some more or do I just need to simply get the money and book the testing date and go? Make it happen? Do I need a kit for stay forward? I was so pissed and I cry and I got up that day after I fell on the floor. That day I got on the phone and I cost a board, and I was like this is not an option and I don't care. What'S going on, they kept telling me no. I kept blowing on them like a psycho until they said fine. You can take your test over and I said I'm not paying for it cuz. I don't have the money because y'all I went ham. I was crying. I was frustrated. I failed, and I did not take that for my for an answer because they told me that if I hadn't take, I could couldn't take the test again for like two or three months and I was like no that's not an option and I'm gon na blow. This phone up until I get an option that requires me to be in class tomorrow, so just understand that failure is always a possibility and failure is inevitable and that even when you fail, you got to pick yourself back up and do it anyway. You just got to do it mama you got to do it and you have to set the date, make a public announcement, something that's so powerful for me that works in my life.
