You can or rather should use a heat protectant before using the brush attachment to set your hair in curls and a hairspray would even add to the lovely effect you get. It will help in holding the curls. U can use if before or after applying heat. 

keya patel: its looks so easy when your are curling but very messy for me. It will be helpful if you add other attachments also in tutorial. As mentioned , it can work as straighter, soft curl n just as paddle brush to give finish look. Your expert opinion is awaited. ;)
