WillOnAWhim is a one-stop shop for all things hair, travel, food and shenanigans! Enjoy!

So i just booked bing bong. I just looked at myself and i'm like you are you, okay, yeah. Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror and just you've heard something that you just said and you're like i just booked a hair appointment at walmart. You watch stop playing girl now hold on hold on, apparently i'm getting eight to ten braids girl at four o'clock. Today it said 45. I was looking up salons near me, and everything is like a hundred dollars. 140 walmart is doling out braids for 45 bucks. I'M gon na need that chicken this little picture that they got up here, ain't too promising. Where is the black there's? No hey! You should wash your hair first hey. Maybe you should come with a blow. Dryer, hey just come as you are, there's nothing. It just says: pay on arrival. It should take about two hours, eight to ten braids; okay, that's it so i'm gon na wash my hair before i go and thankfully i have my functional beauty waiting in the shower. So let's go ahead and get to it. You guys this video is sponsored by function of beauty after getting over the the gnarly jump scare. That is the word function because you know calculus was like the third thing on my list. That'S traumatized me the most of my life, but then finding solace in the word beauty. I was like you know what i'll try it out. Let'S go. We all know what we like for our hair. For me, it's no frizz. I want definition and i curl. I need moisture and i want my scalp to be cool and cute for you. It might be a little bit different, which is why the girls like function of beauty. You can customize your hair products to fit your hair, your goals, and so that's what i did. I went to the website. I did a little quiz to formulate something just for me. I told them that i wanted my products to be fragrance, free, silicone, free and, i think, no dye like no color and bippity boppity boop girl. I don't know it landed on my doorstep. I'Ve been using the custom set from functional beauty for a while now and go figure they're. Both amazing. The shampoo is sulfate free. So it's a gentle cleanser, but it does clean my scalp and it actually is pretty soothing. As well, the conditioner, although it didn't have any silicones, was actually pretty lovely um. It left my hair super moisturized and also frizz free. I know you see it now. This footage is from a previous time that i use functional beauty, not for today's video. So here's how i styled my hair after that time yeah it was cute. Everything worked out. My scalp feels good. My hair feels moisturized. I got what i asked for functional beauty is also cruelty. Free, it's 100 vegan, it's sustainability focused bottle and the cap are both recyclable and it does come with pumps that i didn't really use and i don't need, but you can reuse them and the products are dermatologist tested, so work. Now it's easier than ever to try function of beauty's top rated hair duo. You you right there. You can get 20 off your first 16 ounce custom set when you click. My link down below i'd also recommend becoming a member, because you get access to exclusive perks, free shipping, early access to new products shout out to function of beauty for sponsoring today's video. Speaking of that, let's get back into it. Okay, girlies me: we are on our way, i'm on my way to wallyworld. I'Ve been like taking this cup that i have to go cup that i got from a local like coffee shop and i just like pour drinks into it because it truly is like the perfect cup yummy. Somebody saw me: oh i'm a little nervous for this. I'M not gon na lie because it doesn't feel like a real hair salon. It'S in the middle of walmart um doing anything besides. Purchasing oreos and paper towels at walmart feels weird, but they have like a whole optometrist in there they'd be having banks in there. They. Why they got a bank inside of walmart blah blah blah blah blah blah blah? I guess i'm here. I want my this one has covered parking, that's sick, because it's so hot in arizona! Oh, your literal car on the inside melts, if you like, you, don't have cover plastic without covered parking, so people fight to the desk for it. I am going to go into the cilantro. I got my mask. I'M ready to go, there's a nail salon in this. One there's a whole mcdonald's back there, that's what i'm talking about. They got a whole optometrist like why you could get your eyes checked at walmart, okay, good sign, there's black people in here at the same on like the the stylists, are black, i'm definitely late. So hopefully i can still get this get the tea hi. I haven't put my four i'm a little late, yeah and so it starts. I will stop for maybe three minutes and then carmilla came out and boom look at us already getting into it. Getting my hair blow-dried, so why didn't you start your journey, so i started like i said in 2013, so i was in college at the time back in the early 2000's, like everybody had to braid the grease, like all of it, was so fun to me, like My mom had a lot of pressure from my family members to like cut my hair off all the time, because i was a boy it's too feminine to like have long hair as a boy, i got the haircut all the way up until college, because that was Like so ingrained in me and then when i grew my hair on college, i realized that, like i have so much fun with my hair, i was like more connected to my blackness. This is like something that perceives me when i go into a room, it's so loud and big. If my hair has its own personality and kind of like energy, i have to like kind of step up. My hair taught me a lot about who i am, and my blackness and i found community through that, like my friends were going, it was like movement right. My friends were like cutting their hair off in college and, like the natural hair movement was like happening. A specific way or you're open i'm open to whatever you can do. Okay, we are mid. Braids carmella is just like freestyling kind of instead of doing a single braid, because that was going to take a little bit longer she's just on cornrows, okay, i, like it, picasso you all know what time it is. It'S the foam time. So i'm gon na give you the hand mirror. Okay, i got ta get my hair cut rooted up, so everything looks all cute for the finale. For the final reveal, do you want my rubber bands on it whoa? Are you serious? This is sick. Thank you. What in the world bro i'm like trying to show them? I could you want me to hold them here and design yo you killed, that? Are you serious y'all, that is talent? Oh, this is so cute. Oh they about to be sick of me because i'm gon na talk about this forever bro. What this is so cute yeah. I know i don't need no rubber bands or anything. I think it looks so good, just as it is wait. Okay, can you tell people your name okay? My name is carmelia carmilla over here ck over here at smart styles and tell them where we are like what? Where are we okay, so we're in glendale arizona, right, um inside of walmart? We are, i just got this done in walmart, so if people want to book you, how could they there are so many different ways? Okay, so you can go on open salon which is online okay, you can call ahead. Okay, we're open right now, nine to five, but working every day: okay, um, that's pretty much or you can walk in. We take walk-ins as well: oh sick, okay, i'll i'll, like put all the information down below. If you are in arizona, because i know people like people will be in me and be like, do you know any like natural histamines and as if i'm like the directory for like natural hair salons in arizona? This is good because y'all she killed that and i know ck doesn't do braids often, but if you catch her on a good day or good month, you might get this done um. Thank you. So much yes and we had a good old conversation. We talked about all the stuff that you know you talk about when you're with a hair stylist. Yes, everything, yeah um wait. Could you go through like the products that you use? Maybe okay? What do we use today? Because this is a hair salon right? So we always push for the professional side of things right so um. I always use professional products right, but i did use this. We loved you see see. This is what i'm talking about because for the grip right, i just use it for the grip. She knew. What was t like? Yes, that's what you need. This is why it's like hard, you can't just go to anybody to like braid your hair. You have to go to people who understand how to like do it and do it well. So yeah we did. That is that the kind of design - this is the sign essentials. This is the foam i like this one, because it lays the hair down and has moisture in it as well. Yes, people were telling me about design essentials. They said they love it. Yes, we use that as well. Okay, i can't wait to like film this when i get home, because the design is crazy. I could. I could never do something like this by myself. My elbows and my wrists will be cracked they're wide open, so we finished up. I paid and everything, and i realized that the gates were closed on the dang on shop. Carmelia aka ck actually stayed a little after to finish my hair up like thank you thank you for that, but girl. Once i crawled through the gates, i was in walmart and it was time to shop, picked up dinner and went home, and i guess that brings us to the end of this video. I really got my hair ready at walmart today, like hello, hello, okay, so a few things one. It wasn't that convenient for me just because it was a walmart that was further away like the walmart near me does not braid hair. So i had to go to one that was like a little far away. It was like a 30 minute drive it's gon na blow up. This is crazy. Make us drive this, but what was convenient was getting my hair braided and then go go in the shop for dinner right after girl. I went right out of the hair salon into the grocery store. You can stop at five or six stores or just one also. The checking process was super easy. I was just like hey i'm here for my four o'clock appointment and they were like okay and i was a little late. I was like 10 minutes late, and so they grabbed ck. She greeted me took me to her chair and a few things that i loved off. The back was that she asked me what i was allergic to a lot of people out there. Don'T ask you that when you get into their hair into their chair, they don't ask you, if you're allergic to any products or anything they just use whatever they use. I did tell her that i had dandruff and she was like okay good noted. I did wash my hair before we went in so i didn't um like i prepped my hair, i detangled and washed my hair with function of beauty shout out to functional beauty as she was braiding. My hair she was like. Does this hurt? Are you fine? Are you okay, like she was very she asked questions that most stylists i feel like don't be asking you know what i mean like. They just expect you to deal with the pain or whatever it is, but she was asking me: are you okay? Does this hurt and then that led to like a whole conversation about tenderheadedness and how maybe like tenderheadedness, is a false concept, and it's just like really the braider like is the braider just tight doing it too tight? You know what i mean honestly going in there. I thought i was just gon na get medium-sized box braids or cornrows as in straight backs. Those are the two things options that the scope of my mind had built out for me that day, but then i went in there and she was like yeah single braids. I don't know we might, it might take a little longer than necessary because all the parting and all that stuff and then i was like okay, we can do cornrows. Like honestly, i was, i would have been fine with straight backs like truly, but i was like hey you just do whatever you want to do, i'm open to whatever you can do and she did this. She did this girl, i was, should imagine my shot cause. I didn't look in the mirror, the entire time, like so completely taken aback when i saw my hair from the back like what she like made some kind of vortex wild stuff going on back there. I could never do that on my own. The last time i got a cornrows, i also got my hair like blow dry, just like blown out, and she asked me before she like used heat. She was like. Are you fine with heat like she asked me like these? These things are nice. These things are good stylist things to do. It was just nice that she was making sure that i was comfortable with the things that she was doing before she just went ahead and did it girl my earring just really just fell off my ear. Like i kid you not a little earring, oh um, what else the experience of the salon itself like i feel like it wasn't um. It wasn't like amazing, but it also wasn't bad like it was just like i felt like i could have been anywhere. You know he didn't feel like i was in walmart while i was there, although a few times like people like the siren went off as people went out, because the salon is right next next to the entrance, so the siren would go off when, like somebody was Like stealing something - and so you would hear you'd hear that every once in a while - and it would pull me back into the fact that oh i'm in walmart what is walmart, it's like they sell wall stuff. No! What is that? Here'S how much it was and here's how much i tipped so. Here'S the total um, that's pretty much it! Okay, love! You thanks for hanging out with me and going to walmart with me to get my hair done i'll leave all of that um stylist info down below. She also has a business called. Oh dang. I forgot the name of it, but after this video ends, i'm just going to leave in the footage that i filmed of her talking about her small business. She, like gifted me, some of her things and i'm trying to use. She has like a body oil obsessed. So i'm just going to let her talk about her business at the end, but um yeah, that's it for this video. I hope you liked it click the like button subscribe and i will talk to y'all soon, bye, okay, so my brand is essential, glam! Okay. So when you see that logo - that's me i you know this is the lip gloss i have. This is lust. Okay, um i'm more into like enhancing the natural shade of your lips, so i do more on the nude so from clear all the way to like a chocolate dark brown um. So this is the gloss i have it in tube and wand. This is the oil. This is essence oil, so this is infused with chamomile flowers, so it's all natural. It has a cherry almond set to it and then you can roll it on your body. Oh sick, it's a roller! Yes, yes, yes, and then this is trinity. So this is the lavender cherry and patchouli scent. Okay, like i said it's handmade majority of its shea butter and then it has a thick consistency too. Well, okay, so kind of be mindful. Also it's the summer time and you know we're gon na hit 110. yeah. So just be mindful about this yeah i do have a website essentialglam.com, okay, and so i would appreciate the support you

WillOnAWhim: next up: me getting my hair done at CVS

Joycelyn Taylor: Skilled cosmetologists can work at any salon. The key IS skill. Wal-Mart gets NO credit for her talent and professionalism.

With love, Nia: I don’t have faith in Walmart but, I have faith in her because, 1)she’s black 2) she’s a bit older, and 3) she was open minded and let him open up to her.

Alexis Joy: She have people out here looking THIS fresh at a WALMART??? Walmart don't deserve her!!! Get the coin my good sis, CK ❤️

Olivia Woke: Oh nah so you got your hair done by an experienced black stylist working at a natural hair salon that JUST SO HAPPENS TO BE in Walmart. She did a beautiful job!

Asia Jannea: She’s a good stylist. I like her morale most stylists don’t care. And use whatever they wanna use and it’s YOUR fault if something happens. I looooove that she is client focused that is rare nowadays.

Dr. C. M. Bryant: It was extremely nice of you to dedicate space to promote her business… You are a nice person. BTW: I have been subscribed for years never commented but this was just exceptional.

Malayka: She did such a good job! Those might be the best cornrows you’ve ever gotten Will!

Loe: Listen, Walmart salon just rents booths. That woman was a STYLIST. Not every walmart has good stylists, but if you find a good stylist they could be anywherrreee. Even Walmart!

Hey, it's K. Matt: She ate that right up! Honestly for services in Walmart, if the right person is there, it’s always a great experience! I loved your braids. Carmelia did a great job and I loveeee that y’all talked! That’s something I think so many stylists don’t do anymore, have legit convos while you’re getting your hair done. SN: I’ve been going to the Walmart Vision Center since I was a kid and the workers there are now friends with my Mom and I’m going to a bachelorette trip for one of them next month

Mister Ceo: At the Walmart in Texas I used to shop at there was a barber and stylist that stayed packed out at their salon. He drove a brand new S550 Benz and she drove a Range Rover. It surprised me as well because it looked odd for people to be flocking inside of a salon inside of Walmart like that but TALENT is talent. The people will come

Addicted To Success: GO BACK TO HER! The drive is worth it! She moisturized it, detangled it safely, gentle, and the braids came out FIRE!!! Next time show up on time though

Laysha Laya: Damnnnn girl!!!! Nah but she hooked you up. She needs a raise! Your hair came out looking healthy, shiny, and wow I didn't realize how long it was. Not that I think of it, I don't remember ever seeing it blow dried. Love it

bebe.: omggg, she snapped on that braid pattern! it looks so good i need her to come work at the walmart by meee

D R-K: OMG!!!!!!!!!! $75 for real!? This woman was amazing! I love the style. I can't believe how well it turned out.

Veronica: see…my grandma took to to a walmart salon a while ago to try to do something with the uneven lengths i had after pulling some of my hair out, and they had me looking like angelica’s doll…embarrassing myself walking out that door and granny tried to tell me i looked good lmao

💚 Amy-Lee Angel 💜: I like the end result. The braids don't look too tight, the scalp isn't red.. she's GOOD!

K B: omg might have to look up her stuff also YES let's talk about that "tenderheaded" concept! for so long as a kid I HATED dealing with my hair because it hurt so much and I just got called "too sensitive" when I was in pain. grow up and realize actually, I love my hair texture, my mom was just tired and impatient and ripping my hair into submission lmao

sade watkins: This came out AMAZING !!! s/o to her foreal

jessimow: She's everything. Thank you for putting her on Will.

Shayla Slade: I use to get my hair pressed at Walmart until my hair stylist moved. She did a great job, always! *sidenote I grew up in Glendale *

Maracia Nolivez: I am happy this worked out. Last time I went to have my hair done at a Walmart(first, last, and only time) the lady cut my hair off. It was hanging on my back and she cut it to my chin. I wanted a layered or face frame cut in the front. I don't know why she put scisors near the back. Did the same to my sister. We had matching farquaad cuts.

C G: All tea… I go get a wash and blow dry from Walmart when I’m feeling lazy and they always get me right.

✧ by4ku✧: never actually heard anyone get a hair appointment at Walmart yet

77blaze1106: I'm natural and I got my hair done at Walmart for years with no heat damage! People be sleeping on the Walmart salon!

Sarah Turtle: I actually went to a Walmart years ago to get a silk press, and when I tell y’all it bounced and was healthy. It was pretty much the same thing a great black salon that just happen to be in Walmart! Love the look Will!

Harmony: I'm a receptionist at one of these places!! The stylists work HARD and so many of them are phenomenal at their jobs while not getting the rep they deserve because of the stigma. Great to see you have a good experience!

Roses and Diamonds: The braids look amazing on you Will. That's so sweet of you to help promote her business. Thats why I love your channel!

Roti: Love how you put folks on and supported her business! Hope she sees a sales and booking bump as a result !! And the style was cute (god I wish I had hair ;_;)

Alana Cain: I started my natural hair journey in a Walmart. I had senior pictures the next day, and somebody recommended me to meet up with a braider (i didn’t have a car and the half way point was Walmart) I waited for 45 minutes the girl was a no show. I was CRYING in the Walmart parking lot lol i called my mom she was at work so i went inside and sat down at the salon. A wonderful black man consoled me and offered his services. When he asked me what i wanted i cried again and just said cut it all off. He told me what products to try, styles, and went in the store and bought me the cutest pearl headband. 7 years later, I’m so grateful for that Walmart salon

vaneshcaa: She did a stunning job! We don’t have a Walmart in the UK but Asda is basically an affiliate of Walmart or in the family? Could never imagine getting my hair done there so this is amazing

Alma Davis: She did a great job! Plus your hair is so healthy.

April Marie: True story… about 11 years ago I literally got a relaxer at the Walmart salon from a white lady who NEVER did one before under the guidance of a black beautician that was there. It actually turned out really nice. Never went back though. I don’t like salons.

Jyabriel W: Oh she did that. I hope she gets more clients if she has her own side thing.

Sherrie Bruton: My sister worked there for years and she was an expert in all types of styles. So it just depends on the stylist. But HUNTY, she DID THAT!

Mokah Girl: This is RIGHT on time! I wanted a stylist just to cornrow my hair nothing too fancy so I can wear wigs/crochet braids. Trying to grow my hair out. Didnt know Walmart had a black stylist. Going to book an appointment with her!

Judy B Jones: She did an amazing job! I pray her business and clientele continues to grow because of this Also, you should try getting your hair done at Ulta next lol

Assya Barro: I love her energy, she looks so nice and kind and she braided your hair sooo well!

May Coleman: Yooo will she went off!!!! This must be my favorite style you’ve ever had at the salon. Truly, no cap!!

Mahoganyrootsstudio: Will, she did a great job. I went to her website and ordered a few items, I love supporting small businesses.

morrisahj: CK was A-1, top tier service I’m so glad she got the opportunity to show off her skills/her business. Go head girl! Your hair looked bomb ✨

Fara: She is a gem that happens to work at Walmart. She did an amazing job and i wish she was in my area. I had a salon at my Walmart and they ended up shutting down

SP L.: Wow, Will she did that. Your hair looks absolutely amazing. You look so good with those braids.

Smoodz Naturals: I love how your braids turned out and the love you showed for your stylist. I would also appreciate if more were attentive to our needs like she was for you.

MissMargaret: She did an amazing job. So freaking slick looking.

darksound: That’s looks bomb, she did more than good! I had went to my local Walmart to get a silk press by the same stylist my mother used to go to and my hair ain’t ever flowed like that before I was blown away, especially since I’ve avoided going to stylists ever since I went natural

Melissa: That actually looks really good! I'm surprised, impressed and upset that Walmart may be onto something.

Kris Jai: I used to get my hair done at Wal-Mart! The stylist I use to go to was amazing. She washed, deep conditioned, massaged my scalp and then styled me

Ultra Barnett: It’s the convenience & practicality for me. With the way these gas prices are set up, I couldn’t be mad at a 30 min. trip w/shopping. Esp. with the way your hair turned out & you had the opp to vibe with stylist? Uh, ah no ma’am. Whenever you want (because you have the skillz to diy) your hair braided you def better hit her up. #official

Tarrah Bailey: I actually work for SmartStyle, I'm not sure why people think getting hair done in our salons isn't as good as other salons. We actually don't work for Walmart, we rent the space from Walmart which is smart business! We have access to hundreds of clients everyday just walking past our shop! This should give people more trust in us because we have lots of experience! Just because we are located in walmart we are not discounted stylist! I love you had such a wonderful experience in this Salon!!!!!!!

Lailah Adams: Thank u for showing kindness and allowing her to show her business

xoPrimrose: I always see the nail salons in some of my local Walmart’s but I don’t recall a hair salon. Vicky Logan (here on YouTube) got a partial sew in at a Walmart and it was fire!!!

Aydia: Wow! She did a great job and she seemed super nice.

💚 Amy-Lee Angel 💜: I've never had a problem with Walmart hair salons. They always listen and never damage my scalp or hair. It's always those small salons that screw my hair up.. causing burns and hair fall.

Brianna Taylor: When I was like 8 I got a silk press in the Walmart salon and I LIVED for that. They did really well. talent is talent don’t matter where it is ima get my hair done.

Lesley Stone: She did an excellent job! I really liked that you promoted her at the end of your video

Tammicia Rochelle: I'm going to have to check the Walmarts in Charlotte. My son has the same texture and length as yours. He's turning 20 in a couple weeks and I'm absolutely sick of seeing his bun. Would love to see what his hair would look like styled. Might have to be my birthday treat.

Nebula Mars: Honestly, Walmart's hair salon is a gamble; I have been there, done that. I am still wondering about a hairstylist who left. She transformed my coily hair to straight. No heat damage, but idk. That was nine years ago, lol. edit: the cornrows look amazing, like a map to atlantis

J Lewis: Why? Walmart has to have paid you lol. I can’t wait to see this! Edit: well let me stfu!!! She did that!

sibria: oh she did the damn thing! and your hair blow dried, wow it’s so beautiful

Evette Walker: C.K. really did That!! And she used really good products.

Essential Glam by CeeKay : @WillOnaWhim your hair is so healthy, it was a pleasure to do your hair! Also your YouTube friends are so nice, I appreciate the positive feedback. Thank you for the love!! You are amazing!! Love always, CeeKay

T: I hope she’s getting a good amount of clientele after this video. She did an amazing job

Tia James: I met my hair stylist at smart 12 years ago. We still going strong!!! She's great..now she has her own shop now.

Eggs bacon grits SAUSAGE!!!!!!!!: Omg I’m super jealous because this lady was actually really good! It really depends on your stylist because me, I live in a medium-sized country town, in which my hair is in between being wavy and being curly. The last haircut that I had with this girl in this Walmart hair salon, I swear she didn’t know what she was doing. My curls were super uneven and she even had the nerve to thin my shit out without asking me! Luckily my hair was able to fully grow out from that horrific experience and I found a stylist in my town that actually takes the time to educate herself on natural hair (or at least curls like mine)

댈잨: My experience at my local Smart Salon was quite different! And it was my usual stylist that I followed to this salon because they got a new job! I can't trust anyone! Lol Oh! And I have that same earring that fell off!

SweeTea: Whew you’re lucky I took my kid one time, just a simple fade. I’m a Taurus lol chill af, I’m ridiculously easy to please. That she-demon turned a simple haircut into hands down the worst experience we’ve ever had in any industry. Lord I was happy to see their butts got permanently shut down at our local Walmart. Like at one point this individual cut her finger wide open with her own scissors and was going to KEEP CUTTING MY KIDS HAIR until I intervened!!!!

Meditate Mama: This is amazing!!!! I Absolutely love and enjoyed this content!! Will, you are truly the goat for plugging her and being the best kind of client! She’s an amazing artist and great stylist! Please go and see her again

ModelMaterial09: I like that she asked you about your hair journey. That was awesome!

Simply Mahoganie: She did a great job with your hair…definitely got lucky finding her at the Walmart salon…my experience with a Walmart salon wasn’t it . She did that on the cornrows

Tina Oliver: SOME of the Walmart salons are so good! She did an amazing job :) Very very cute!

Mildred Richardson: Hi Will, I've been a subscriber for some time now, first comment I made on your beautiful channel. That young lady was truly a professional, the style is awesome and looks good on you. In the future I'm going to support her and buy some of her products. I Love this video. Love, Light and Protection for All.

Qwameesha Lewis: Glad you let her freestyle, that what you call support ❤ ✊

GGs Handsomeboy: Thank you for the heads up on Walmart hair stylists. She did a phenomenal job on your hair.

Carolyn Forney L.M.B.T: I found my stylist in Walmart’s hair salon. She looked too polished to be there but it turns out that she was new to the state and needed visibility to gain clients and Walmart was the best choice. I’ve since followed her to two more locations and I see other clients that have also followed.

Faith12996: I used Walmart twice before. The first time it went super well. I was honestly surprised because it was a semi rural very white area. But the white hairstylist did a great job with my hair that had been minimally maintained since I was in training at the time. The second was horrible. The hairstylist was new to haircare overall but she was really sweet. Unfortunately, she still did a very bad job but I hoped her doing my hair for the first time gave her some experience with black hair. I offer her some tips during the time. She was middle eastern and was honest about how she had very little time to practice on curly hair during her schooling.

zianya kinney: i really wish hairstylist would ask what your allergic to bc i stopped letting people braid my hair due the fact many braiders use castor oil and i allergic to it.

Intuitive Mama Drea: She did a really good job, very professional and kind

M. Smith: A stylist at Walmart saved my hair when it tangled so bad from postpartum shedding. I walked in with a huge bongo dread on my head. The first stylist I spoke to looked at me crazy and told me I was looking at getting a short cut, which kind of crushed me because my hair was way past bra length at the time. Another stylist came in after her main job working at an engine plant all day, and asked me why I wanted to cut my hair. I explained the situation and informed her of what the other stylist told me. This stylist told me there was no reason for a cut and she could detangle my hair. This lady literally stood there and gently and carefully untangled my hair for an hour. She then washed, deep conditioned and styled it. I left with my hair all pretty and flowing. She only charged me for the wash, condition and style. The salon had closed way before we were done and she felt me tipping her $50 was too much! I was very sad when that salon closed. This was in North Carolina.

Erika Roque: She's a great stylist. She did an amazing job and hooked you up with some goodies!

ladylydbug: Omg sooo cute!! Good hair stylists can be found anywhere. Glad you had a great experience!

Motavation: I LOVE that you let her put her small business information on here. SUPPORT! Your hair turned out really cute! Keep on doing what you doing

Jared Humphrey: I worked in Smartstyle for almost 5 years. Fresh out of cosmetology school. It was an experience as a stylist there but I will say working at Smartstyle comes with a lot of negative connotations. But the biggest thing that a lot of people don’t understand is Smartstyle is NOT affiliated with Walmart. It’s just a situation where the company rents the space inside of the Walmart but it has nothing to do with the store. So people feel weird when coming in due to the fact of it’s location. But it’s literally like having a store front inside of a strip mall kind of situation. But they have a lot of amazing stylist in there (myself included when I did work there) once you get passed the location

Leslii P.: Now will,,, HOLLON, MISS CK KILLED THAT

This Is A Vivi Stan Account: I found a wonderful stylist at a Walmart in Georgia. She did my first sew in ever! She once even came over to my house. She was so talented. Sadly we lost touch, and the Walmart near me shut down the salon . But yeah, you can be pleasantly surprised by Walmart.

Journee Harris: and they used to have amazing nail salons too, not sure how many of those are still operating but Walmart is a beauty gem!

Felicia Snider: When I went natural, I went to a Walmart in Charlotte. She cut off the relaxed ends and showed me how to do coil outs and twist outs. She was so sweet to me. I walked into the store and scanned the salon for a black stylist and to my surprise they were all black that day.

NitroFairyWing: Honestly you got lucky with this one, cause she did that❤

Nina Williams: Carmelia did that!!! alright now gurl Absolutely worth it, who’d have thunk Wally World had such talented stylists!

Rayanna M: Wow I always look at those salons and be like I would never but they definitely proved me wrong she did amazing I love that she asked questions as well to make you comfortable cause a lot of people don’t like you said.
