Hair Styling Tips: How To Prepare Your Hair For Styling

How to prepare your hair for styling with a flat iron hair straightener. Learn about:

blonde hair, brown hair, red celebrity hair, curly hair, emo hair, hair braiding, hair care, hair color, hair cuts, hair design, hair do, hair extensions, highlights, long hair, short medium hair, african american hair, black hair, wedding hair, asian hair.

To create the perfect needed to achieve these styles with a flat iron, like my studio revolution, I always begin with freshly shampooed conditioned hair. Before I use any appliance that generates heat, I like to generously spread the heats dyeing protection all over my hair from roots to ends. This will protect it from the excessive heat and also at additional moisture and shine. Now, I'm ready to begin blow-drying. I clip my hair up and out of the way and using around Barrow ceramic brush. I take a small section. I roll the section of hair loosely around the brush up towards my roots. I hold the dryer with the nozzle about two inches away, pointed at the hair section and I pull the brush in the dryer down the section to the ends. I continue going over this section until it's completely dry. I work my way around from back to front sectioning off and blow-drying each piece until my hair is completely finished. A good blow up gives my hair the smooth, perfect base needed for styling with a flat iron. Before I start styling my hair. I part it down the center from the front to the back of my head and pull each section to either side. Then I take each side section and divide it into two pieces. Above my ear and below I secure the sections above my ear, so they are out of my way at I'm ready to style them. Now, I'm ready to begin styling, one section below my ear:

Masteroftrancegirl: I got the tresemme thermal creations heat protectants spray over at walmart for about 3 bucks. It works awesome and it doesn't make your hair feel greasy at all. And you can't beat the price!

Lisa: where do you buy the heat styling protectant?

Christinahello: you can get them at the drug stores. But i like using Chi Silf Infusion (big bottle is about $30- $40) but its really worth your money. It makes your hair really soft and smooth and protectes your hair too.
