Exploring A Abandoned 1990S Hair Salon - Urbex Ohio

This forgotten 1990s hair salon and barber shop sits abandoned and unchanged. I cannot believe the hooded dryer chairs still work.

While scouting for new places to explore in Ohio we stumbled across this small ivy-covered building. We were intrigued so we peeked into the windows and found a 1990s hair salon untouched and forgotten. These are the type of abandoned places we strive to uncover. It is like walking back in time. The paint was pale pink and the floor was forest green.

This abandoned hair salon located in Ohio was recently purchased and is being gutted to be converted into an office or retail space.

While passing through Ohio, we spotted this building covered in ivy, you almost couldn't even recognize it, but we peaked in a window in determined it was a 1990's hair salon. So we worked out the details with the property owner and went back to visit a couple weeks later. To our surprise, much of the Ivy on the outside of the building had been removed, but the inside was left untouched before we head in roll the intro we're out here chasing history into the darkness in search of adventure and the occasional sunset so masca. It'S gon na be a walk. You can see, there's a coat rack that held umbrellas, but the best part is that the hair salon hasn't changed since 1992 still got all the chairs, all the magazines and guess what still works. You can smell it as soon as you turn it on feel. The heat this place is currently getting gutted, there's going to be gutted and turned into office space after this video goes live, it'll be gone, the chairs will be sold and forgotten forever, except for this video, so don't forget to subscribe. This side was the barbershop still got all the barber chairs. You can see. It says: State Board of Cosmetology registered cosmetologist, someone's dog Belvedere float em, so there's an old Coke or Pepsi machine. What'S interesting, is it used to be coke and then it they put a Pepsi logo over top of it? I don't know if that was really common, but it's definitely interesting. They would be pretty cool, I'd be tempted to buy a chair. My wife would kill me, though, we're in the back room now and it's got a makeshift kitchen in it, a super old refrigerator. This is gon na, be a short video for you guys. I hope you appreciate it. We saw this place a while back and there's no way we could not come visit pretty much untouched from when it closed. So, if you guys liked this video don't forget to subscribe, hit the like button and as always be safe out there

The Heart Of A Blackbird: I mean damn, looks pretty clean. I've seen worse operating salons Lol.

tamara walker: That place is an amazing time capsule. So glad you got it recorded before it was redone. Love the before & after ivy. I've only been to a salon a couple of times, but this place reminds me of when my grandma went to get her hair done, back in the late 70s. She called it her beauty parlor day. Lol. Great stuff. Thank you so much for all your great videos.

Brenda Flanigan: Loved this one, reminds me of waiting for my Mother to get her hair done. I can smell the perms and hair dryer!

Shea Piland: What a cool find! Inside was not expected after first seeing the outside. Amazing that the dryer still works after sitting idle for such a long time. Thanks for sharing.

Pamela Macha: This was a very cute salon! Interesting. I remember those dryers.

Genisse Franklin: Dang looks in pretty good shape on the inside

DJ Brains: What a hidden gem! In great shape

jaz ograyski: Loved the Beauty shop. I am a hairdresser. I think the dryers are from the late 1970s. Looking forward to getting back to the salon in June.

Debra Ellison: That was pretty cool. I wanted to see the piece of furniture in the back though. It looked blue on my screen. Then you went into the break area and I saw my kitchen chairs from the seventies. Loved that kitchen set. Thanks for sharing

BilisNegra: Got mixed emotions about the removal of the ivy... On the one hand, it's good to see how the place used to look like without it, but it was so unique with it on! I mean, such massive and thick growth is not something you see that often. Also helped camouflage it from vandal's view at a long distance, at least from that side.

Angie Wanders: Wow that salon is in good shape!! I love the retro look! I love the Coke/Pepsi logo, that's so cool!!

K & D Explorations: Thanks for saving this piece of history by this video.

Deanne Speer: Absolutely wonderful,so sad it will be office space. My Salon is 1931 and deco is 50's with a couple of updated stations. Still have and use a "wet station". Enjoyed the video, thank you

Ian Seymour: Although I am a Pepsi man myself, the Coca-Cola breaking through the Pepsi logo is kind of poetic

qdeck02: Great video would love to have that old refrigerator

Cynthia Cheesbrough: Wow! What a find! Just imagine the conversations that took place here! All the gossip!

AroundIndiana: That ivy is incredible. I wonder how they got rid of it

BilisNegra: The saloon may have closed in the early '90s. but the furniture and equipment scream 70's to me .

Dennis: As always, great vid. Thanks

John Klamm: You know what they should do with that is turning into some type of Time Capsule or a modern museum

Crystal Pepsie: I'd be interested in a chair!

Lisa Douglas: Hair style mags are from '92 everything else could be straight out of '72!

Cynthia Cheesbrough: Wiw! What a find! Just imagine the conversations that took place here! All the gossip!

Alaskaberri: My grandma had the same hair washing sink in her small shop, black enamel. :)

Birch Leaf Photography: Im not sure the one side with sinks was a barber shop. All beauty salons have washing stations like that, usually in a separate room. My grandmother had one in Wilmington many years ago. Looks much like hers

Neglected History: Very cool. A true time capsule

Sean G: Sweet little find

fTC 5: This was a gem. Way to stumble!

JDexploresfan: Dang that was dope. Thanks

FANSPLORE: Love the video!

Crown Body and Soul® LLC: Wow♥️

GovernorDonkey: Mask up bois

Amelia Toreson: The other side was not a barber shop . It's where the women's hair was washed
