I'M not gon na complain about y'all price, i'm not saying they don't disturb my spirit, but i'm not gon na complain about it. Y'All. She literally handed me. The comment was like here: detangle your hair and lay it on the bed. Until i was done, you guys keep going back to these people, giving them big, arrogant heads with them act like them. I would stick up their body and i don't like it. What is that youtube family? It'S your girl, ava and welcome back to my channel. If it's your first time here, welcome, don't forget to like this video y'all, because it helps your girl out. So much comment in the comment section and tell me how you feel about the video. I know y'all got feelings about this, like i haven't even said it. Yet but i already know your hearts are heavy coming to this video but of course you never have to. But if you fill in the content, please do subscribe. You guys i'm jumping into this video y'all. I don't even know what i'm gon na name it y'all, because it's so much like literally here on my notes. I have dear black stylist and nail text, but i feel like it's so much deeper than that. First of all, before we even get into the video, i just want y'all to know that i've had my fair share of horrible experiences with black hair stylist. If the good out definitely outweighs the bad, but i've been scrolling through tick-tock for the past few days and the amount of videos, i don't know why my algorithm is set up to see black women crying and leaving the hair salon. People tweeting about them after they leave about their hair, cancelling on them and then posting clients, work and then getting an attitude trying to expose them y'all. We have to do better. We have to do better. We have to do better with picking our stylist, because the women who are doing this - why do we keep going back to them? I do want to share with you guys some of my personal experiences, but we'll get to that later in the video. The first thing we're going to talk about is pricing. I am not. This is not the channel where you're going to come and you're going to hear me talk about people's prices because i feel like who are we to put a value on people, especially black women? I'M not policing their place, policing the prices of what they charge to do, hair, what they charge to do nails what they charge to do lashes whatever they do, i'm not policing prices. You have the option not to go with them. If the price is out of your budget or if you do not see their value or you don't think that their work and their value, what they're charging is in alignment with each other when you're creating prices, you have to take things into account, like competitor pricing Equipment services - profit - i'm not here to police prices like if y'all want to talk about it in the comments feel free, but i just personally i do not police prices. We have to stop that narrative, allowing people to put our value on us. That'S number one. We don't got that out the way everything else is not going in that direction. So you see that energy i bought there. This is not the energy that the video was about to proceed with, so, if you're not ready for what i'm gon na talk about. Just leave your lead and leave i've seen a few videos like this on tick, tock, instagram a whole bunch of different social media sites about when you're booking with stylists that they have all of these rules and regulations. So you know some of them are reasonable. Like you know, don't bring your child. I can understand that especially a lot of these stylists are doing hair out of their house. I can understand, like you probably don't, want little kids running around your house. Don'T bring nobody with you for safety precautions. I totally get that even if it's a shop, you know sometimes it's not a lot of seating going around cove is going on now, that's all understandable. I don't think people necessarily have an issue with the rules and regulations. I think the issue is with the customer service and professionalism. Those are two topics that we need to talk about, especially in the beauty cosmetic world in that industry, where we exist, i'm not going to complain about y'all price, i'm not saying they don't disturb my spirit, but i'm not gon na complain about it. But what we are gon na talk about is me going to get something. For example, like my hair done, is something so sacred, it's something so special to me. It'S something it's energy. Getting my nails done is energy you're, literally touching my hands. This is an exchange of energy. This is an energy transaction right here. First of all, i'm exchanging with you my most valuable form of currency, which is my energy and then i'm giving you the next most valuable thing i have, which is my money. I send you a text message because maybe i've been looking through a thousand hairdressers and i've read a thousand rules and regulations, and i may have got something confused and your dm and these girls back with the attitude you guys. I saw one girl who booked with the girl. She followed all her instructions and, after she left the salon. The lady went on her instagram and said her hair looked like ancient ruins runs or i saw another girl come home crying because the girl was just like. So rude and like really aggressive while doing her hair getting mad because she was tender headed you guys, you guys have the right to get up and leave. I'M gon na tell you about one of my stories: real quick. I was getting my hair done by some dominican girls. I was turning 24 years old. I didn't forget. It was my birthday because this was the first time i i gained the confidence to get up and leave, and the lady was doing my hair now. My everybody else in the dominican salon hair was thin as [ __ ], my hair is thick and the hair is thin because it looks like it's been perm or heat damaged. I don't know, have very, very think, kinky hair. So all of a sudden everybody face skin up when i come in here, and they don't want to do my hair them for your skin up some girls got it at a tool because i don't want to throw my hair now. Y'All already know the politics between hispanic, women and black women. You know they exist, let's not act like they. Don'T when i'm paying to get my hair done. Please do not skin up your face and look like you smell your crutches. It'S not cute, it's not cute! So she literally was doing my hair and he was talking [ __ ] about me in spanish. I know what they were saying, but i could feel the energy i was like yeah how much she was watching my hair and she was being so [ __ ] rough and i was like ooh whatever. Whatever you been rough, she wouldn't get from my house. I got up i had left. I was like how much for the wash you don't want. Your hair done: [ __ ]! No, i don't want my hair done by you, you being rough you're being disrespectful. He was not getting any of my energy. He was not getting any of my money, i hate to be so aggressive about it, y'all, but the culture and the politics that go into the hair salon and the nail text. It'S sickening and it's disgusting and i'm tired of it how the [ __ ] am. I paying you money, i know these not black, but dominicans, some of them consider themselves. But how am i paying you money and you being disrespectful and talking about me right in front of my face, like we already deal with that with the asian people, so when we go into the nail salon, why are we dealing with that in our own community? That doesn't make any sense, um rules and regulations. We understand why y'all have them, especially a lot of y'all stylists on instagram. I don't think y'all know this a lot of these stylists, also young stylists and i'm proud of them. I will respect your rules and your regulations, but if i have a question about something that i maybe have a misunderstanding about your response shouldn't really be with attitude like. Why are we getting so much attitude from these stylists y'all? You would have thought i took they. Man, listen. I attack where people mind me now. Do it may not take where people might no more? Let me stop. I stop so. Why is that an issue? Why is that an issue for you, like the attitudes, be so horrible y'all? I remember one time i went to this girl to get my hair done now. Granted. Let me let me take accountability in my part, because i'm not about half-assed telling the story. I hit this girl up really last minute and she want. I want her to do a sew and it's back in, like 2018., probably 2018, i'm like yeah. She did my song for 60 dollars with a leave out or whatever she's a professional licensed cosmetologist. But she wanted me to come to her house with my hair, clean and time i was like. I didn't have a blow dryer, so i had to come with my hair kind of like fresh out the shower, but by the time i got to her house, my hair kind of matted and tangled back up and she didn't blow dry. My hair, which i thought she would have - and i was prepared to pay for that because i know she had a blow dryer y'all. She literally handed me the comb and was like here detangle your hair and lay it on the bed until i was done in her home salon like laid on the couch or whatever until i was done, and i'm paying you my money and you're gon na have Me a comb and tell me to detangle my hair now granted. She did give me a discount on the show and she was really nice, but like it's these type of lack of professionalism like i'm, not your cousin, i'm not i'm still paying you, i'm still paying you. You know. You know. I'Ve had also another cosmetic brand, with one of like a big influencer owner come at me on instagram telling me i should have bought her product. While i was in stock, i shouldn't have waited till it sold out now. Listen we just talking about the the negative because there's so much positive. There are so many stylists who are professional black women who are professional, who are have excellent customer service. But i think my issue is consumers why the [ __ ] do y'all keep giving them your money? Why are you putting money in circulation that is not appreciated? If i'm giving you value of money in exchange, i should be getting excellent customer service and i'll, be. I should be walking out of the beautification process, feeling like i've gained something up. Nothing happened to my best friend. She wants to go, get her hair done. I was sitting in the salon with her. It was enough for six hours remind you. I had just came back from north carolina, i was in tallahassee, it's like a 10 hour drive and i sat there and watched my friend got her head down, but back then you know you just don't have to be around your friends you're, just like. Oh, whatever the she kept asking the stylist. Well, how much is it going to be to dye my hair? She was like. Well, i don't know how many times i'm going to have to lift it so i'll. Let you know at the end when it could have been solved with something simple like i don't know how much it's going to be total, but each lift is 15 or each lift is 25. You know give me a give me a give me something like y'all. Be acting like, like i just don't understand, maybe y'all can help me understand if i got some stylists and some and some um nail techs and you know black business owners who deal with that um service for money exchange provides a service for money exchange or you Know you sell products or whatever but y'all, why? Why is it that the algorithm on tick tock is making me feel so bad? Like literally, i wanted to get my hair treated and i'm like literally terrified to book with anybody, because i went to go book and i saw which i was talking about. I was like hold up the natural hair stylist like this too. I wanted to go, get my natural hair done and like, like, i said, i'm not policing the prices, but the lady that i want to go to she. Charges 250 for your first visit, granted we're not policing prices, but it's up to me to decide whether i want to pay that or not or whether i see her service is worth it honey, it's hard to find a natural hair stylist and she has great reviews. So 250, okay to have my hair treated. You know something. I take very seriously something. That'S my business, my brand. Of course you know. If that's that's an investment to me no granted, would i do it every day, [ __ ]! No! But you know it's an investment to me so on her website. It was very like complex like if it's your first time booking with me. You can only book one of these services now granted, i'm a very competent person and i have excellent comprehension skills, but i'm like some people could read this and be confused or some people may not read all the directions when they go to the website, because we're Used to a fast-paced world, i don't know if y'all remember the time we used to go, walk into the nail salon and just get our nails done now. Now even you got to book appointments with the asian people, they're, not taking walk-ins the asian. You know owned el salvador, not taking walk-ins you it's kobe, you know things is different. Why did so much tension and hostility towards consumers? I saw one girl answer the question and say one of her issues was she just asked the same question over and over again honey? This is a business. Questions are a sign of leads from a business aspect. That'S a lead. That'S a prospective client, a prospective consumer. Why are we not treating that lead? Why are we not outsourcing, if you don't have the time to outsource, hire an intern hire? I'M pretty sure there are many kids in college or high school students trying to make a few extra bucks a week outsource hire somebody to respond to those people with those redundant questions. I'Ve seen some instagrams that have auto respond. There'S many services you can pay for. You can outsource, you know, run your business as a professional business, even when you're on the ground. Take that extra time, maybe set aside 30 minutes a day to respond to all those repetitive questions like there's. No way that me trying to spend money with you should be a burden for you bro like that. That don't add up that. That'S crazy to me yeah! I just want to say this like, like i said, getting your heads on is a very spiritual. It'S a very sacred process, be very mindful of where you exchange your money. Of course, y'all know black businesses. We already have we already so far behind in the race. We can't afford that we need to do better, better customer service, more reliability, like i said, outsource nelson i go to unless i didn't get my nails done by them this time, but usually i go to it's owned by a lady, she's middle eastern and she's in The cut she's, the owner, she does nails the girl, who does my nails, she's mexican, there's a black girl in there. It'S a white girl in here and it's some other girls. Other ethnicities, like it's everything in the salon. Well, unfortunately, she doesn't do walk-ins. You can only make appointments in her salon, but she talked. She sat me down one day and i was like oh my gosh. She has excellent customer service, she has returning clients and she was like yeah, because word of mouth is my best marketing because we're in a we're in a little cut over here. People don't really see us when they come to the blossom. So you know the experience is everything they. I also have an issue with the consumers or the clients, because you guys keep going back to these people, giving them big, arrogant heads with them act like them. I would stick up the body and i don't like it. I don't like it at all like y'all value yourselves higher queens. Like i said your hair is such a sacred process. You know my mom used to go to the hair salon every week to get her hair done, and i used to hear my mom say i don't like them: girls in the hair salon. It'S like it's like. They got an attitude with me and i just couldn't understand like what are you talking about? Somebody have an attitude while they're doing your hair. You want a hair salon to get a blow dryer, because i just had to bring my hair down under my wig but y'all. My hair is so thick, sometimes watching and blow drying. My hair can be a lot on my body i was like yeah. Can i get a shampoo he was like? Do you want me shampoo, your hair? I was like yeah. I didn't understand that shampoo meant just shampoo without conditioner i've. Never [ __ ] heard of that in my life, especially when you have somebody with my type of hair texture, but whatever he shampooed my hair and blow-dried it, and i was like why does my hair feel so dry? He was like you know. I just shampooed and blow-dried. I was like you didn't condition my hair. He was like no during the blow drying process. I was wondering why my hair was flying all over the damn salon like it was breaking off. I was like. I need the type of stylist where, if i told her, no, i don't want to shampoo. She would still put the shampoo anyway, because she just know she just know it would be wrong. Like i understand you can't afford it this week, but i got you like: i've been like those type of people, they get your service and you come back every time over and over and over again like i'm just so sick y'all, like i guess, that's it y'all. I don't know what i'm gon na name, this video, but whatever end up titling, tell me what you think about it. Some of you can relate i'm sick of them, i'm sick of them like for real. Like you know, people come to the hair salon. They come to the nail salon to detect and unwind it shouldn't be a energy draining. It should literally be a high vibrational experience and it's just not. We have to change that culture into the ones who are we see you, and we appreciate you and that's why, when you charge 250 for our first client consultation, we gon na pay you because the market, the industry got me [, __ ] up, don't forget to Like comment subscribe and i'll, see you in my next video peace,

desha frasier: I try soooooo hard to support black stylist and nail tech but omg it’s always something, always not professional, always a bad uncomfortable atmosphere

blakbeauti: I just can’t stand the negative vibe these hair stylists give off, sometimes before you even sit in the chair. Ghetto attitude, or late, or complainin bout your hair when you’re paying for their serviceee…Lemme look up all these YT videos on black hair care then n do it myself!

Crystal Clear: I was done with salons since leave outs & hair in the plastic days. I.e. Beauty Elements, Milky Way, Sensual etc. They been rude. It’s not just now their doing it. I made a promise to learn how to do my hair & nails myself. These stylists be acting like we begging them for something. It’s disgusting. I been over them. They can’t get none of my money. There’s a ton of information out there on how to do your own wigs, nails, makeup, lashes etc. I’m not going to force no one to give me a service that they truly do not want to provide. Tyfs wish this video got more views, because these stylists need to humble themselves. This comment is clearly for the stylists who conduct themselves like this!

LeLeDiaries: i just got my hair done a few hours ago and.... I AM FKING DONE i am such a great client, never more than 1min late and still get treated like dirt :(

Tj Anthony: It’s because respect isnt being taught at home

Keisha Hawkins: I'm what I would call an old school stylist. I did hair professionally for 32 years. Some of These new stylist are different ‍♀️ Conditioning and Shampooing the hair was always and should always be a first priority! In Maryland it's been a state regulated that that is to be done before any other service unless you are having chemical service But now I have a few things I would definitely acknowledge on your video. #1 Going to someone's home to have a full sewn in weave is basically you get what you pay for! In the salon my weaves would cost $250 and up! But that includes EVERYTHING #2You spoke on Dominicans and Asians and the unprofessionalism they exemplify but in the title of the video you named it Black stylist! I would definitely change it to UNPROFESSIONAL STYLIST. #3 I do agree with you about the exchanging of energy and being serviced whether hair or nails is Sacred for sure, is even more of the reasons why you should be very selective in who touches you! Period #4 CUSTOMER SERVICE IS EVERYTHING #5 And lastly a stylist that has a salon at there place of residence but their business is a separate entity of the place they reside is definitely different than a kitchen or bedroom hairdo‍♀️ ijs

Marissa Allen: So glad for this video! Getting services from my people such as hair and nails can make me so anxious. It’s like they treat you like a peasant sometimes. I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way.

Lidiroyal: I’m so lucky I have an old school hair stylist with old school prices lol. Getting your hair straightened is like 45 bucks. And it last longer then any “silk press” I’ve gotten and my hair isn’t damaged. I’ve had my hair damaged for way more. All I care about is healthy hair care. Edit: I don’t mind paying whatever it it’s the lack of respect that some of these hairstylists have

TORI KEELS: i loved this video! You KILLED it WOMAN!

JazzyQ: Heavy on that energy sentiment. So true!

Miri Kaye: Gurl, I actually had a similar experience in a Dominican salon. Went in for a blow out and stylist told me I had too much nappy hair and needed to get a perm! Like cuz you the same shade of brown as me that's okay? Yeah, I didn't get up but I didn't go back.

Thomas Harvey: Happened to me to. She literally handed me the comb told me to untangle my hair. I was pissed. I was like brah not my hair again.

KeepinitRealLiz: Gurrrrrl…. I am too scared to go to any hairstylist which is why I do my own hair

Ada George: I totally agree with you.

MSOESL: Ridiculousness like this is why I learned how to do my own hair.

Val: I booked an appointment with a hairstylist and she said she don’t specialize in short hair. I am fuckin done

Genesis Turman: Skin flawless

Shavonne J: Yesssssssssssssssss i can never find a decent stylist

Melissa Adams: yes. I like to relax and get my hair done.

Nappy Scribe: I’m a stylist and want to work alone!

She’s Worthy: Someone said my head was too big and that my hair was too thick

Thomas Harvey: Where are the professionals cause in Tampa and Brandon there ain’t no professional stylist. I been living here 20 years and don’t have a permanent stylist. The Dominicans are made disgusting and the black stylist are rude or picky. Like you doing them a favor. They value their family and close friends versus a unknown customer and the requirements these people have makes me wanna take the time out and buy a wig. Don’t have time for these stylist and there shenanigans.

Melissa Adams: what about the gossip there and being messy?

Serene Grant: I hear that under cover Jamaican accent

Killa Rolex: Yea I need a new stylist

Shavonne J: These korean nail salons aint no better

Mousey B: Wow

Shavonne J: I dont get the not wanting to talk...they have no numbers, its just book me
