Trust that exactly where you are is where you're meant to be so, keep your chin up, so your ground doesn't fall. Remember your royalty! Well, hey hello! Welcome to my channel real quick before we get started! Talking make sure you go ahead and subscribe here to my channel and then click on that bell notification, so you're notified every time i post another video. So let's hop right into this comment, i'm going to start answering some of your comments like this. Instead of you know typing it out, because i really want my channel to be impactful, i don't want to just make videos just to make them and then we're having the same conversations five years. No, let's let this be a dead thing, so you said i can't tell you how many times i've sat down in a chair and immediately get dirty rude looks from the stylist. Are you jealous of me? What'S your problem grow up and most of them got into cosmetology because they failed at every other job they've ever had in their life. I'Ve had at least two stylists tell me that that they just kept getting fired from every job. It'S definitely bad attitudes across the board, so one thing i will not do is make excuses for stylists like this, but we have to take responsibility because i myself personally, whenever i first started in the field of cosmetology, i was 19 when i got my license and The first salah that i went to they - i was one of the only black girls there, but i just didn't like the energy of the salon right, so i went and i was in studio salons, but even before i moved to studio salons, i never ever experienced Anything like this, nor did i ever work around women who behave this way and a lot of y'all are not gon na like what i have to say next, but it is what it is. Let'S break this comment down piece by piece: lovely, don't get mad! You posted this and i do need everybody to remember. No, i do not do hair for trade anymore, but at heart i am still a cosmetologist scientist and all of those things. So i am going to play devil's advocate here and give you guys both sides. The first piece: i can't tell you how many times i've sat down in a chair and immediately get a rude look from the stylist. So my first question: why did you stay actually? No, that's not my first question. That'S my second question. My first question is: where did you find this hairstylist, because i have never ever and don't get me wrong. I'Ve worked around some solids that were not that good at their job, but i have never worked around a cosmetologist that is jealous of her clients. That'S eyeballing her clients, the only way that a cosmetologist is doing that is one or two things: either you've chosen a ratchet shop with a ratchet price or you are a person that lets off negative energy and they probably just don't like you, sis and the thing Is when a woman works for they self they can let out whatever type of energy they want because they work for they self. Now, with that being said, i am not making excuses or allowances for nasty, cosmetologists or nasty hair stylists with stank attitudes, but i also need you all to remember this most of the time, if you found a stylist with the lowest price, you've also found a stylist That doesn't have a license: who's never been to school. I need you to know that. Okay, every state that you're in does not have strict laws about having a cosmetology license for an example in detroit michigan, where i am from, you can do what is called an apprenticeship. Okay, you can't do an apprenticeship in vegas in nevada, but you can do that in detroit michigan. So what an apprenticeship means is, for example, you can have a big salon with 20 different people in the 20 different stylists in that salon, but only one of those stylists has to have a cosmetology license and if state board comes in and all 20 oh well, The other 19 stylists don't have a cosmetology license. They can tell state board, hey we're all apprentice up under her and nobody's been to cosmetology school. That'S how stuff is ran most of the time, but y'all don't know that because you're shopping for price, so i mean, if you are bargain shopping for a stylist. For example, you go to 50 dollar weave shops yeah. It'S a possibility that a woman that's sitting in the chair, who is i mean standing behind you is gon na - have a stank attitude because she's about to stand there and do three four hours of work for fifty dollars. No she's, not in a great mood, no she's like that's slave labor, divide fifty dollars, divide that by three and see how much money she's actually making it's all none of its profit. None of it is profit, none of it. So no she's, not gon na, be the sweetest person you're not going to be getting the nicest stylist that anybody's ever met when you're going to women who are not charging their worth. For whatever reason be that because they haven't, went to school. Be that because they are just a person who got up in the morning and decided they wanted to do hair and they don't understand business, but that, in my opinion, baby is you because everybody doesn't have that experience? I have never met or had anybody work in the same place with me who grims and stares at their clients is, if they're jealous of them - and i want to get to this next thing - are you jealous of me? What'S your problem grow up? Well, first thing: when you before you book a consultation, i mean before you book an appointment, you should book a consultation and if you would have booked a consultation, you could have read her energy before you ever went to sit down. So again, your fault, because you didn't do the due diligence. There are 50 million people that do everything like there are people who have lot changing services like people who are locksmiths but you're, not just gon na, go anywhere and get a locksmith. Why? Because if you get somebody janky, they can possibly make a copy of the key and be able to run up in your house. So you're going to do your due diligence at making sure that you pick someone who doesn't just label themselves as a locksmith. But somebody that's accredited you're going to look at their reviews, you're going to look for somebody, who's went to them before you're, not just all like. Oh, they do locks for the low. No you're, not gon na. Do that, and if you do it's gon na, be on you, you're not gon na go out and be like. Oh, i never use another locksmith i'ma learn how to do my own locks. No, so why do we do that in the hair industry, and this this next part is the part that made me want to make this video and most of them got into cosmetology because they failed at every other job they've ever had in their life. Now let me say this: i can guarantee you the majority of people who go to hairstylist. The majority of people who judge hair solids could not walk one mile in a hairstylist shoes, a successful hairstylist shoes, a person like myself, the master, stylist janae mickles deeper than hair tv. Most people couldn't walk a mile in their shoes because, from the outside, looking in the hair industry looks like one of the easiest things that you can ever do so me. I am a licensed cosmetologist and i have been one since i was 19 years old. I didn't fail at anything. Cosmetology was the only thing that i've ever wanted to do. I wanted to maybe go into mental health, which is something that i've clearly already done, but i didn't fail at any other career because i've had my license since i was 19.. I didn't fail at other careers. I just always knew that. I wanted to work for myself and i didn't want nobody telling me when to punch a clock when to go here when to do this, and i have loved hair, my entire life, my entire life. Okay and every professional cosmetologist that i know every actual good cosmetologist that i know have been eating living and breathiness their whole life and their reason behind going to school wasn't because they failed at every other career that they've ever had. I'Ve had at least two stylists tell me that. Well again, that goes back to my first point. I want us all to take responsibility for the places that we end up, because if you keep getting people like this, they give you dirty, looks and, and that are jealous and rude to you and you've had two different styles. They told you the only reason they do. It is because they was failing. That means that you're picking in the ratchet pool baby does that mean that all cosmetologists are wack. No, that just means that you pick the ratchet ones, so i want all of us to really look at ourselves in the mirror like what are you doing about? What are you doing to attract these type of people, but like for myself for an example when it came to me and me doing hair? The reason that i stopped is because i didn't have control over the type of women that i was attracting when you have a youtube channel with over a hundred thousand subscribers, and this is when i was making suppressed videos on a regular basis. So videos like within a hundred thousand views within the first couple of weeks like and then the same thing for instagram i didn't, have control and i did online booking. So it was hard for me to filter out who these people were, but for you you're one person, you got to pick one hair stylist, so it's not as hard for you to filter out the type of hairstylist that you're going to go to or the type Of hairstylist that you're, attracting as it was for me to control the type of women that i was attracted to sit in my chair, but you have complete and total control. If you have two, if you went to two different hairstylists and both of them told you, the only reason they're doing hair is because they feel that life. That means you shopping where the ratchet say baby that mean that you picking hairstylists for the low hairstylist for the low. That'S what that means all right. They just kept getting fired from their jobs. It'S definitely bad attitudes across the board. Now i am not going to negate that i'm not gon na negate that the attitudes are bad across the board, but i will negate this in closing. Cosmetologists do not go to school because they're jealous of women and they want to get a license, so they can make women bald because they hate other women. So much. That'S not it like it's not a thing. Let'S go over how much cosmetology school costs like a roundabout estimate. Now these are the prices for cosmetology school in 2022. I went to cosmetology school 15 years ago, so exactly i paid 28 000 dollars to go to cosmetology school, not 2, 800, 28, 000. But because there are so there's such a small amount of schools that uh, because there's such a small amount of people actually going to school, the prices have been dropped. So this is just an example. Every uh price is different depending on state, but if you was to just look at one of them like one is seven thousand dollars right, but then your kit, on top of that, is like twenty eight hundred dollars and then for some of them like this one. Here is fourteen hundred dollars with a fifteen hundred dollar kid. I'M sorry, fourteen thousand dollars with a with a fifteen hundred dollar kick right, and so, if you look all the way up at paul mitchell, park, paul mitchell is 14 000, with a 2 800 kit. Okay, these women are not going to cosmetology school to learn how to do hair and have all of this student debt, because they're jealous of you know you guys are picking by price and because you're selecting by price most of the time, not all the time. Most of the time, the cheapest price that you find is by a woman who doesn't know her worth and most of the time the woman who doesn't know her worth is the woman who's doing it for fun and ain't never been to school, okay and then not Everyone who's been to school, actually really really loves. Hair. That'S why you have to know the difference. Just like not every ob gyn loves the female body. Not every doctor is really really a1. That'S why you have to do your due diligence and as as women. We have to stop blanketing each other into one group, because in one breath we're like. Oh, i'm not ju, i'm not like her i'm different, but then the same finger that you don't want pointed at you you're pointing at the person next to you, and it makes sense to why everybody's in the same place. I promise you if you find a good cosmetologist she or he went to school because they love, love, love women, not because we're jealous of women, not because we hate them. No. I went to cosmetology school because i have always been a science. Nerd chemistry was my favorite subject, don't judge me judge yourself, you know, and i the more i learned the more i began to understand how most of the problems that black women and the reason that i'm talking to black women is because i'm a black woman and I have a daughter who is growing into a black woman. So yes, that's where my passion is. That'S where my focus is absolutely absolutely and i'm not gon na act like it's anything different. That was my drive and passion. I didn't. I didn't have the drive and passion to make it through two years of cosmetology school and everything that it took and just now paying off my student loans 15 years later, just just because i was jealous of women. This is what i did it for saying. You are awesome. You are one of my top three, ladies, that i that give out accurate and knowledgeable information on youtube. Now you are moving up to the number one spot. Oh thank you. Since i've been following your excellent advice, the results are amazing. I now have decreased shedding. My scalp is cleaner and in a better condition my hair is getting more moisture. The things i've been struggling with is now 100 degrees turned around all due to your methods. You are down to earth. I like your personality. That makes a big difference, i'm so grateful. I found you listen, peaches. I am so grateful for this message because this is why cosmetologists go to cosmetology school and start taking clients not because we're jealous, not because we we want everybody to be bald, so we're gon na call all little black women with long care to us. So we can make them bald head because we jealous no, we go to cosmetology school and then come out to teach to either teach our clients in a way of like a service being provided to them or like going to be teachers. Because all cosmetologists don't stand behind the chair, they don't i'm one that no longer does unless i'm doing some type of event or a brand deal or something like that. But i want you to pay attention to what she said, because this is our mission not to cut your hair off, because we're jealous i now have decreased shedding. When we go to school, we learn how to make sure that the shedding is decreased. My scalp is cleaner. When we go to school, we learn how different scalp infections, like seborrheic dermatitis like dandruff, like scalp psoriasis, are all caused from a dirty scalp, because dandruff most people think that dandruff is dry. Scalp no dandruff is an overproduction of oil that is causing bacteria in the scalp. So cosmetologists we go to school. To learn like hey y'all, stop putting that oil on your scalp, because the dandruff that you have is because you have too much oil. You have too much dirt trapped in the follicle, that's where the dandruff is coming from, stop putting oil. Okay! That'S why we went to school, not because we're jealous of you, my scalp is cleaner and in better condition my hair is getting more moisture. The things that i have been struggling with are 100 degrees turned around. This is all from her watching youtube videos. So, just imagine how the clients who came and sat in my chair actually were cosmetologists, do not go to cosmetology school because they are jealous of other black women and want to make them bald they're. That'S not what happens. That'S not why we go to school baby. It'S not so again. This is why we do it before i did the seven day challenge and got the scientific brushing book. I thought i was taking care of my hair right. My hair looked healthy. I want to make sure i was taking care of my scalp and hands properly man after applying what i've learned. My hair is on another level of flourishing all right, so this woman is someone who joined my seven day. Hair growth challenge all right and she purchased. My new ebook on scientific brushing links for all of those in the description box below this is why we do what we do. This is why we go to cosmetology school because of the things that i've learned in cosmetology school and the things that i have went ahead and kept educating myself on as a cosmetologist, because with my cosmetology license, i can get into certain classes that i couldn't take Before i had the cosmetology license, just like you can the average person everybody can go shop at sally's, but it's not until you have a cosmetology license that you can shop at cosmoprof. So a cosmetology license definitely gets you through doors that the everyday woman cannot get through, regardless of how good she is they're doing hair all right. So when we, when i am in the hair industry, i am in the hair industry now for this reason, so that yes, women can still go to cosmetology, still go to a hairstylist, a braider, whoever you're going to go to absolutely. But you still have the tools to master your own hair yourself, you're you're not left to you know somebody being able to book an appointment for you know just like you, can brush your teeth every day and take care of the regular maintenance of your teeth. Without your dentist, you should be able to take care of the regular maintenance of your hair without your hair, stylist and cosmetologists real cosmetologists go to school, to learn how to do the service for their clients and to teach their clients how to transform their lives. Their selves because, contrary to popular opinion, a cosmetologist does not want you to stay with hair, that's jacked up and messed up, because it makes my job more difficult. If every time i see you, i have to cut more hair and i have to fix damaged ends. It is is debilitating for me. It makes me feel like i went to school for nothing because you're, not learning anything from me. I have never wanted to cut any of my clients hair off. That is a myth. I love you all so much. Thank you for chilling with me. I'M not going to call this a rant. I know somebody's going to be like oh sam you're, so passionate! Oh, are you so mad? No, this is just how i talk like it's crazy because to myself, i'm talking regular, but then people be like oh you're, so passionate truth or bad, but i'm like oh. This is how i talk it's just it's just a regular day like i'm sorry, but i love you guys, but i just want y'all to see yourselves. This is not a channel. That'S going to make y'all feel good about saying and doing stupid stuff. It'S not because that gets you nowhere in life, we'll be going around the same mountain over and over again we're not doing that here on my channel, we get solutions. If we have myths, we get myths busted over here and the truth of the matter is: if you are dealing with ratchet hairstylists who are rude and disrespectful they're screaming you when you walk through the door, that's popping sunflower seeds in your hair as they doing hair That holding their kids and you got ta wait two three hours. You are shopping, the wrong way in the wrong places for hairstylist, and if you want me to teach you guys how to find a good hairstylist, then just say that, and i will help you find them all right because they are out here. I they are out here in these streets y'all, just not looking in the right places, because they may not have a whole bunch of followers or they may not have a whole bunch of subscribers. That doesn't mean anything. Your subscriber count has nothing to do with the amount of talent that you have in your hands, because there are a lot of women who didn't pick up the camera. They they they just doing, hair and killing, but they they haven't, picked up the camera. So it's your job to find the chick who either hasn't picked up the camera or the chick. Who cares more about the science of hair than she does the camera or the views that she gets from it? Let'S get to work, trust that exactly where you are is where you're meant to be so, keep your chin up. So your ground doesn't fall. Remember your royalty!

Cyn Doll: Join my 7 day challenge now! https://www.cynsmith.guru/courses-programs https://www.cynsmith.guru/challenges My new eBook for scientific brushing. https://www.cynsmith.guru/product-page/scientific-brushing-101

Kasheia Clifton: Cyn judging from these comments and my personal experiences this is definitely a thing. I went to someone who was highly recommended and I been to before. She kept saying how long and thick my hair was and how she couldn’t deal with it if it was hers. Long story short I went in for a trim with mid back hair and left with a Bob. And this isn’t the first time a stylist I trusted and worked with before has done me like this. Cyn you can only speak for yourself. You have no idea the horror a lot of us have been through. The majority of women are cautious and are not just letting stylists with the lowest price in their head. Y’all just keep them heffas out of your head. Period. My hair is back mid back length after 1.5 years AND I DID IT MYSELF.

Syddin Pretty: Great video! Personally, I will admit that I have had some run ins, and had many conversations with my clients who express their negative experiences. Even when they're not necessarily nickeling and diming. By the same token, you definitely have many consumers who want the world for $5 and that's just not realistic at all. The entire sector of our industry needs a reformation imo.

Magalie Zamilus: The first time my old cosmetologist made a nasty remark regarding one of her clients with long hair since i have long hair too i told myself that it's going to be my last visit

Jessica Johnson: Cyn, i want to thank you for standing up for us cosmetologists who do it because we love what we do, not because we couldnt do anything else. I served in the Army, got 4 degrees and still went to hair school. I was taught to always have a back up plan and thank God i did because due to medical problems stemming from my time in service, i can no longer do hair. My passion.

Cocoa Monroe: I had a stylist that I used for a few years. I go to her for trims, sew ins etc. Love this woman, she’s been doing hair for 30 years. The only issue that I’ve ever had for this beautiful gem of a lady, is that she’d never share with me the tools I needed to care for my hair in between visits. I would still go to her more frequently if she did. I’d ask and she would just say that she’s the stylist and I just needed to come back to her and she’d keep me up. Sooo, I found people like you to help me figure out my own routine, but I leave the professional goings on to her. I travel an hour from where I live to use her and of course you get what you pay for and to me, she is worth it. I’ve had TWO that told me that I had too much hair and it was too thick, but I’ve never had this issue. Of course though, I pick and choose after diligently looking and that’s how I found Mrs. Regina.

Jessica Climons: I’m a cosmetologist who has always had a passion for hair and beauty, I’ve been doing hair since I was 9. Went to high school and took the cosmetology classes there. I tried to run away from being a hairstylist but I couldn’t because I had a passion for hair, hair is my life so I had to get my license because this is my career.I truly want my clients to feel and look there best at all times, I work for jc penny’s and they are a little cheap in price but I love what I do and I see other stylist who don’t have the same passion as me but I still try to pull the passion out of them because they still have it. Me as a stylist I love to teach my clients new things to help them at home and good products to use. I’m very different from a lot of stylist and I’m ok with that. Ladies do your research and get those consultation

bee gee: Horror story ... my cousin finished cosmetology school (Grandma took loans out for this she really wanted to do this) and begged my Mom to let her do my hair ... I got the okay and went to her salon. I was in 8th(1988) grade, had never gone to a salon before this. Looking back the way the other stylists were behaving should have tipped me off. I have thick long hair, and when that sucker gets wet watch out! Long story short ... I ended up with fried hair, cut to my shoulders, and bangs that sat above my eyebrows ... My Dad had a fit and and few choice words, no one in the family ever went to her for hair styling EVER! This was sadly about jealousy ... a competition my sisters and I had no idea we were in for who had the longer hair with her sisters! I am not sure if she ever really made a go of it. I had no hard feelings it grew back.

Tay RioBravo: Thank goodness my bestie is my stylist! The black salons are infamous for this! I have had my hair burnt the heck off, edges ripped out , chopped off. The stylists I’ve gone to have had great reputations and aren’t at all cheap… Maybe it’s the state I’m in, but it was rare for me to find someone who had a great personality or customer service. This is after I spent a grip. I may get a fake smile , but I’ve got tones of “oops” and there goes my hair.

Ms.Bookie: Ima stylist and have never been jealous of a client...My hair is long and I grow my clients hair..Sorry for your experiences...

A Google User: Cyn Doll - you are rare - a stylist with great knowledge, technical expertise and creative styling. I am going to itemize why it is difficult to find a good stylist. 1) I live in one of the most expensive cities in North America, many black salons have closed - worse after the pandemic. 2) Relaxer does not make the profit of weave/ braids/ extensions, therefore some stylists are lax/poor at proper relaxer technique consistently 3) I'm old school, I remember when salons carried a variety of relaxer for various hair textures. Most now carry one or two variety and if they don't have something for your hair type- they will apply it regardless. 4) The 3 or 4 expensive black salons that are left specialize in one or two chemical applications but no one does it all - relaxer and keratin and Japanese straightening. 5). Your stylist may be great at haircuts and not as good with the chemical application or visa versa. I had to use two salons for years one for cutting, one for relaxer. Yes, it's inconvenient. 6) I was a client of the the top black salon for years but I did witness colorism and texturism against other clients comments said in jest like "Oooh girl, nappy" trying to be funny but actually hurtful (this was said to a friend of my by my stylist who did not realize she was a referral at a top salon). I also personally know of two who had their hair ruined- even the top salons make mistakes and can be resentful of dealing with tighter hair textures . 7) Customer service training is lacking consistency at all levels of the salon. For example, one top salon currently has great stylists but the receptionist who books all services has terrible customer service skills and has received complaints. There is a lack of people to do these jobs since the pandemic. In our city, low level jobs are becoming harder to fill. Yes, a snarky receptionist who acts like it is an inconvenience to book is a big turn off 8). Living in a large city, the best stylist can be quite a ways away -1hr or more, lack of parking, hard to get an appointment. 9) Salons that specialize in "natural hair" don't do any chemical service or may be weak in blowouts and strong in braiding. 9) Texture - some black salons who do great hair don't do so well with someone with fine strands, softer texture hair i.e. over-process, too high heat on the flat iron etc., 10) Do a great job on the style and do not provide info on products to use or aftercare. 11) Do not consider density or strand thickness when styling the hair. Same iron temperature used on all clients, same shampoo. I do not see them turn the iron off or down before starting my hair. 12) Lack of knowledge of black hair - yes by some black stylists. Black hair is not specifically taught in the hair schools here even though there is a significant black population 13) Overbooked - Top salons are generally downtown in my city. The rent/lease is sky high therefore, stylists are serving several clients at the same time - one in the chair, one in the bowl, one receiving treatment. 14) Some top salons pay companies to scrub their google reviews of negative reviews (yes there is such a thing) so you can't get a clear idea of problems. 15) Referrals - difficult when someone doesn't have your hair texture or I now find most women are wearing wigs and weaves. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ontario-hair-school-standards-ignores-black-hair-1.6118214

William Smith: You have to really love doing hair to be in the cosmetology field. If you don't, hang up your scissors and turn in your license. I was in the business for 28 years and never experienced these situations. Where I live, there's a few ratchet salons and won't go near them. Bonus... Since I am a licensed cosmetologist, I do my own. So ladies, do your research

💜Mardi⚜️Gras💚: I just had this conversation today with my girlfriend. I had stylist compliment my hair and then find some type of way to ruin my hair. My best haircuts and positive energy came from hairstylists were White. Also, I am very very selective of who I allow around me and who I give my business to. Understand that I am a licensed cosmetologist myself. I went to a very prestigious school in my hometown. The negative energy doesn’t always start with the first initial contact. Most times the frequency changes overtime. Whether their love life is falling apart or positive things is happening in your life. Envy comes in all aspects of professions.

kelly Goodman: I had a jealous stylist she told me herself that's how I knew, she cut all my hair off she thought it was weird but I had dark skin and I had longer hair .

The Love Experience: Most people that go through the process of getting a cosmetology license have ALWAYS wanted to do hair

Dornita Herndon: I have not let a woman touch my hair since 14 and I’m 58 now. The same person has been doing my hair. I met him when I was 14. He’s like family to me now. Some women hairstylist are jealous hearted and there is one in every salon, meaning they have inferiority issues and that has nothing to do with the salon you choose their everywhere.

Joycelyn Taylor: The apprenticeship model is common in nail salons braid shops some natural hair salons and weave shops so......BE CAREFUL! Eventually the quality of service WILL decrease and you won't like the service/outcome. Cosmetology is NOT a can't get another job end of the line profession. There are grants stipends and scholarships for ppl who want to get licensed in ALL areas of cosmetology nail technology aesthetics and barbering! Make sure the school is accredited and the grants and stipends don't have to be repaid.

Celiana Cruz: There are plenty of Stylist who give nasty looks when you have long thick natural or relaxed hair.. Ladies & Especially GENTLEMEN with Long hair ...LEARN HOW TO PROPERLY Take care and style your OWN HAIR...

Esi Mensah48: When I found my hair stylist that I’ve been going to for 3 years, I checked the work on Facebook, instagram, google and my niece had gone to her, prior to that I went to a different place and I didn’t like it, but after I started going to this lady , everyone was asking how much was it ? I remember at the time I was paying $70 for a silk press with a wash and conditioner, some relative was saying oh that’s too much money, and then told me I should go back to the previous stylist because it was cheaper, now all of them go to the same woman I do

A Google User: It's difficult to find a good stylist. I lost a great stylist years ago - due to them moving out of the country - and have never found a stylist to replace them. MANY stylists - even high end salons - are trying to move people out of the chair. Many do not have a way to book consultation separately - you mainly see "consultations" at white salons. Not all Black styilst provide the service you are looking for such as keratin treatments. There is a dearth of professional Black stylists. Incidentally I have had my long hair ruined by cosmetologist. One instance they used a bad relaxer. It had a strong smell but the black stylist used it anyway and yes she was licensed.

Dominique Harrison: You pay for what you get! Hair is an investment... self-care is an investment. And the assumption that "most" have failed as was stated in the first comment of this video is a bit of a stretch. I've met a variety of stylists. Not one has given me a dirty look so totally I agree with you Cyn! I do my research even AFTER recommendations. To sum it up as you stated... we have to STOP blanketing and grouping our black stylists up for one or two or even five bad experiences. I have ONE stylists and I've stuck with her for some years now. If she isn't available I just come to your videos and learn more about proper hair care! lol I have two beautiful melanated baby girls with two totally different hair types. I appreciate your knowledge, realness, and consistency with the information you bring on hair care. You're helping my entire family. I share your knowlege with all three of my sisters and always recommend they watch your videos. I've learned so much! Blessings!

Cammy N: I get better results from YouTube tutorials. I used to get sew ins and they were so tight. Now I get my wigs custom made so I can take care of my natural hair daily and have a certain look on the days I want to wear a wig. I tell u, it’s so much better than dealing with the shenanigans of the salon.

Kay I: Hi cyn I'm really worried. My hair is bra strapped length and I got box braids. The braider dipped my real hair in boiling water! It was too late for me to stop her. Do you think my hair will be damaged when the braids are removed?

Aniexo: I went to a salon yall I washed my own hair did a nice trim all I asked was for them to section and twist my hair. The lady doing my hair didn’t understand so the owner . (Who has relaxed hair) came over pushed my head down grabbed moose slapped it on a very large section of my hair, then tried combing it with a small tooth comb….. I pulled away then she said she’ll do it more gently then she grabbed my hair twisted it and started plucking the ends of my hair with the comb y’all.. the comb looked like a baby comb. I decided to leave with my hair undone bc she ruined both chances. Fast forward y’all I see her in my neighborhood Walmart and she was looking at me up and down lmfaooo I didn’t even notice it until last minutes she wanted me to see her so bad

CelestineWarbeck: My stylist is the master stylist at her salon and she was an engineer before going to Paul Mitchell Institute. And she only hire’s Paul Mitchell graduates.

Sapphire Relaxed Hair: The stylist I was going to after 2 years my hair was really getting long past my bra in the back. Start cutting my hair every two weeks I would ask why are you cutting my hair she claims she was try to get it even, so after that I came in again she cut it again I got up took that wrap off and walked out! My hair was cut in layers in the back Like a Bob. I wanted to come backup there and beat the mess out of her I'm serious my daughter thought I had it cut that Short!

Cherise McKnight: You are RIGHT CYN DOLL you are suppose to work where your heart is…..this says you found your purpose and others just don’t understand that life is about finding your purpose in life. This word Purpose is just a jumble of words that don’t make sense to those with these types of comments. Yes, CYN DOLL you telling them correctly. People need to do their due diligence FIRST….AGREE. Honestly these types of comments aren’t worth a response

Skyler Thompson: wow i can’t believe stylists act like this, incredible

dawnssful: Wow I never knew that some states allowed apprenticeships. I've heard that some nail salons don't always have licensed cosmetologists or nail techs. Thanks for that info Cyn Doll.

Aaunyea: You mentioned a bunch of YouTube stylist I love! Idk if I missed it but I also want to shout out Travelle Lavar, he's amazing and also focuses on science of hair

Erica Andrea: Hey Cyn! Can you do a video about whether or not we should be mixing and matching products. I feel like a lot of people be doing whatever they want and not even following the directions on the bottles of conditioners, leave ins, etc. Would love to hear your thoughts on if it matters or not to use for example, a shampoo and conditioner from the same product line.

R Mobley: Cyn I finally did it I sure did I cut my hair real short. This like my third big chop in six year's. I'm still learning my hair but it's hard I have 3 different textures of hair I'm dealing with ‍♀️ I'm still trying to eat more fruits & vegetables but I drink plenty of water.

Naturally new to the game 😉: Well said, at times we as the customers goes in with a I have the best hair, my hair looks better than the stylist and you better not mess my hair up, mind you, the client may have long hair, yet the hair is unhealthy and refuses to accept it. Everyone hates corrective measures. I personally have never experience this type of behavior. Stylist may get upset if the customer is acting up.

Yvonne Cooper: Now... I've never had a stylist who couldn't grow their own hair. Where y'all finding these people at?

Friday: Thanks Cyn for this video. This is a good explanation. It's good to know more about salons.

sheilaw1983: ‍♀️Oooh please teach me how to find a good stylist Cyn! I'm in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Domo: I'd love a video on how to find reputable cosmetologists!

Horace Henderson: Tell them the truth

Just Toya: I have to be the one to say it but I ran into some girls that talk like the girl that left these comments they are the type 3 y’all know the looser curl pattern girls that feel like everyone should be jealous and aww of their hair in my experience that’s the type of woman that I ran into that think like that! ‍♀️ also no I’m not putting down the all type 3 hair girls because my hair is 3c, 4A not all of us do that.

Cyn Doll: For more REAL SCIENCE watch this playlist! https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLELT0hCNkXyPNoYsziS_XwgmGhv1-PBSU
