Wow, i'm actually like impressed. That'S a lot of volume for such a little bit of spray, hey everyone and welcome back to another video, i'm so so happy to be back on youtube. I am so happy to be making long form videos again. I'Ve been doing so many instagram reels and my instagram's been doing really well make sure you follow me if you haven't already it's lena does hair, it's been a lot of fun, but i love long format. Videos, because i get to talk a lot. I like to talk a lot and i get to interact with you in the comments and i get to give you like a much deeper breakdown of products and things like that and tutorials so stay tuned to this channel. If you would like to see more tutorials, i have a lot of things filmed that i'm still editing make sure you subscribe. Today'S video is about hair story products. I made another video talking about the hair story, the new wash from hair story. I am being like totally blown away by this product. I'Ve been using it in the salon. It'S been so amazing because i do a lot of razor cutting, and this is just like the best it takes a little bit of getting used to. It'S definitely very different. If you're used to having your hair washed with a shampoo and scrubbed and cleansed really really well, then this might feel a little bit like not sure how it works, but when i was using it, it took me about four washes to really feel the difference. The thing is, you don't have to use this forever, like you, can switch your hair care regimen and you can use a shampoo product and a conditioner and then come back to using hair story new wash like you, don't actually have to use this for the rest Of your life, you can definitely incorporate it with a different hair care regimen. I just really love the way it makes hair feel. So. Having said that, if you are new to my channel, i didn't even introduce myself if you're new to my channel, my name is lena. I'M a haircutting specialist and today's video is about hair styling products from hair story. So there's only six hairstyling products that they have so far and i'm gon na be going through every single one of them. I have been using these products, for i don't know a couple months now and i've been testing it out on my clients and all myself and i'm gon na. Tell you what i like what i don't like if you'd like to get any of these products, i will leave the link below so i'm going to start out by talking about the ones that i go to the most. I love the hair balm. The hair balm is a lotion that is a little bit thick. It feels a little bit like a pomade, but not quite as heavy as a pomade, so it kind of disappears into your fingers. I actually have it in my hair today, i put it in dry hair. I love it on dry hair. It says that you can work it through damp hair and let air dry use on dry hair to touch up frizz or flyaways. I love this to touch up frizz or fly away, so i'm just putting it in my hair. You guys know. I have really really fine hair. If you've been following me, it is the bane of my existence, but i've been using olaplex in my hair to make it stronger and it does feel stronger. It'S flat iron today, so to make sure that all of the frizz and the flyaways are gone. I just run hair bomb through it. I haven't found anything that is as lightweight and as effective as hair bombs. I used to use kevin murphy a lot and their pomades are amazing. They just made me break out and they were a little bit too heavy. For me - and they don't really like blend into the hair very well, whereas with hair story, it doesn't sit on top of the hair, it just blends into the hair, give it like a minute shake it out, and you have that kind of really nice pc texture. I love a product like this. If you have a pixie, if you have a short bob and you just want your ends or even your bangs, if you have curtain bangs and you just want to kind of give them a pc effect, my flat iron mine today. But if you have curtain bangs that kind of do this flip and you just want to piece them out, and you want to give it a little bit of like a pliable shine and movement and shape you can definitely use hair bomb. That'S my go-to and i love it before i start cutting, so i use it on damp hair and i also use it on dry hair if you have curly hair. Oh my god. This is amazing, for you make sure your hair is very wet, soaking, wet, actually and then just put a generous amount of hair balm and let it air dry, hair balm is kind of like an all-in-one, smoothing cream. You can use it on coarse, dry hair and you can use it on fine hair as well and it won't feel weighed down at all. I love it. I wish i came up with this product myself, so the next one that i use a lot is the undressed undress is a sea salt spray without the sea salt. What this means is it gives you the effect of that texturized sea salt effect and grit. So you can put it in your roots for extra volume. You can put it on long hair if you want to create more texture and more waves, but it doesn't have that, like weighed down feeling crunchy can't run your fingers through your hair type effect. I'Ve tried every single sea salt under the sun and i hate them. I absolutely hate them. I prefer my hair when i'm actually in sea salt like in the ocean, but i could not find a product that actually mimics that same beautiful beachy wave that you get when you're at the beach on vacation undress is really nice because it does not weigh the Hair down, you can spray it in your hair. I can't i don't like to put it on dry hair. You should be using this on damp hair, as i'm styling. The hair i'll usually put it in the crown, because i do a lot of shags. So i put it in the crown and then i just kind of scrunch it in if i'm working on someone who has really really really fine hair that doesn't have any texture and they've come to me and said. I just want a ton of layers and i say well no matter how much layers i cut your hair is going to fall flat because it's so light and it's so soft, and it is so fine so for people like that. If you have hair like that, that just kind of like falls flat get the undressed and then just spray it all over your roots spray, it actually i'll spray it all over your hair. You can go too much with this, like you can't spray too much. If you put a lot, you can brush brush it through and it just won't feel like anything it'll just feel like you have texture, it's nice texture, it's not bad texture. It'S like texture that doesn't feel like texture. It'S just really lightweight. I really like it. So those are my go-to's hair, balm and undress are my go-to's. I have them for myself and i have them for the salon as well. For all my clients, okay, next up is dressed up. This is another lotion, but it's much more lightweight. I didn't realize this, but it actually is a heat protectant, it's much more watery and i wouldn't apply this on dry hair, but i will just because i have some in my hands right now. This one says that you should put it into damp hair so not on dry hair. You would style with a blow dryer and brush or set and let air dry naturally, so it does have heat protection in it. So if you're, someone who uses a lot of heat, you would put this through your hair and then, if you want, you can put hair balm in your hair and then blow dry it because that gives you kind of like heat protection and then some nice hold. As well, hair bone has hold too. I didn't mention that you can actually blow dry this into the hair. It feels really really nice and smoothing, so it just smooths down the hair as you're blow drying. It i want to talk about lift lift is a volumizing spray. It makes every single hair strand fatter. Whenever you buy a product that says volumizing, it actually makes the hair fatter. So say your the diameter of your hair is like this small you put in a volumizing product. It actually increases it, it fattens the hair, so every single hair strand is going to feel bigger, and because of that, we people like me who have really fine hair, really need that extra lift. The only thing with this is, you can spray too much and the way that i've seen other professional stylists use it is you want to mist it all over the hair from far away. You don't want to get right in there in the root and then it might feel a little bit sticky. I remember how i was saying that a lot of volumizing products tend to be especially sea. Salt sprays tend to be very sticky, very crunchy, so you might run the risk of this being too crunchy or too sticky. So just spray a very light spray of this don't be overly generous. You can be generous with the undressed spray. A ton of this you won't feel it. You will feel this, so it's kind of like a personal preference spray it a couple of times, try it and then see what works for you. You can also use this if you have curly hair and you want that big, like volume on top, you can spray it again. You want to keep it really really far away from you. Don'T go nuts with it. Just like a couple sprays, one, two, three four and let it kind of go into the hair and do its thing you can comb it through if you like, just be very gentle so next up, we have the powder. The powder is a volumizing powder spray. So this is kind of like your dry. Shampoo. Remember, like hair story, is all clean, so there's not going to be anything that is going to be environmentally harmful or harmful to your system, so no aerosols here all pumps. So when you use this, you got to pump it and you get all of that. This is clay based, so you do not want to use this on wet hair, it will clump and it will turn into clay. You don't want to do that. You want to make sure your hair is 1000 dry and even though i put it in my hair the other day, there was a little bit of color. Obviously, because it's white look at all that residue as soon as i shook it out, it kind of disappeared and didn't even like dull, my hair down, so i put it in spray it and now i got this like really nice gritty texture without like too much Residue and without the aerosol, because i don't like to do aerosol or use aerosol anymore, i find that it gives me headaches: it's not good for your lungs, it's not good for your immune system, so the less you use of the aerosol products, the better! That'S why? I love this one. I'M actually gon na put some on this side too, so my hair has not been cleansed in like a couple days. I just rinsed my hair today and i just flat ironed it. So this is nice to maintain your style and give your hair nice gritty feel and look. It looks like wow, i'm actually like impressed. That'S a lot of volume for such a little bit of spray. I'Ve been using the moroccan oil dry, texture spray and i love it a lot, but again it's aerosol. It'S got a lot of perfume in it, so i am going to start using the powder once i'm done with my moroccan oil. The last product we're going to be talking about is the wax. I love love this product. I work a lot with texture and i work a lot with people who have really thick long hair and a lot of people come to me. A lot of my clients come to me because they have unhealthy hair and they want healthy hair, so their hair could be very frizzy and i do a treatment for them and a gloss and a nice haircut. We get rid of all the split ends. The wax is not too waxy, so don't let the name scare, you it's not too waxy. When i first used. I was like. Oh my god. This is so sticky. Why would they make a product like this, but then, as soon as i put it into my client's hair, i was like oh never mind, so i would put it into my client's hair on damp hair just around the hairline, especially if you have curly hair or A lot of frizzies and you just kind of work it through right there and you want to like press it into the hairline and it completely disappears. It is so easy to use it doesn't like sit on the on the hair. Like i said, i used to use kevin murphy, the freehold when i had a pixie, but it would always make me break out, like i'm sure, that the product traveled down from my scalp into my forehead and i would get breakouts all over my forehead and i've. Never had breakouts on my forehead, my whole life. Even when i had acne, i never had breakouts on my forehead, so i knew that the product was too heavy for me wax. I have had no issues with it at all. If you have curly hair, if you have coarse hair and you have tons of frizzies, this is a great product for you. If you have a short pixie cut - and you just want to like create that really cool texture, you know just want to pinch the hair and shake it out and run it through all the hair and let it stand up, it does all of that. So that is the wax. If you have a bob, if you have a shag, this is a great product with curly hair, fine hair, i haven't had any issues with it. If you have finer hair - and you don't want to use a lot, make sure you just don't use a lot, that's it like. You, don't take a huge chunk of wax. I would use this as your last resort, so i would start with hair balm first and if you feel like you still need a little bit more hold, then you would use the wax on top it's so um, versatile, like you really can use it on any Hair type, i find that it just kind of melts into the hair. It feels like nothing, it doesn't feel heavy at all. That'S it for this video. I just wanted to show you all of the products that come from hair story, because i don't think, there's any videos out there really explaining how this line works. One last thing i wanted to say before i sign off is a lot of people. Ask me: well, can i use it with my regular regimen? Absolutely yes, i use the unite detangling spray every day, religiously, before i cut hair and on myself and i can't live without it. I haven't found anything that is remotely close to how it makes the hair feel shiny. It'S lightweight it detangles it's a heat protectant, so i spray that first and then i use hair storage. So that's usually my base. My seven seconds detangling spray from unite, is my base and then i go in and i start using hair story. The reason i love hair story is because it just works the more i use it in the salon, the more i'm just like, there's nothing like it. I haven't found another product line that really caters to pretty much everything that i need at least for now. I know that they are working on some new styling products, so i'm very excited for that. If you would like to get any of these products, my link is below, and if your hairstylist - and you also want to try the product make sure you use the link that is in my description, i do get a small commission every time you guys buy so That way we can stay connected and if you have any questions about the products make sure you leave a comment or you can dm me on instagram, you can also email me all my information is below. I swear. I have one more thing. I need to tell you if you're, a professional hair, stylist and you're looking to get haircutting classes or styling classes, make sure you go to my website and sign up to my mailing list. I am working on an education calendar for 2022, which i'm so excited about. I want to do classes and i want to do this more one-on-one so that you guys get all of the benefits and that's it for this video. Thank you so much for watching. Let me know if this was helpful and i will see you in the next one bye. You

Sharon Crowley: I've been using Hairstory products for almost 3 years. I still remember my first order of New Wash. I was blown away. My hair is fine and I have a lot of it, and with regular shampoo it was always flat and staticky, no matter the season, no matter what styling tools or products I used. I used to always blow it dry, and I had to be super careful with styling products because they will weigh my hair down really quickly; same with conditioner, actually. With New Wash, I never have staticky hair (unless I make it staticky on purpose). It actually looks good when I air dry it, which is what I always do now. I tend to rotate among their styling products - Hair Balm, Dressed Up (I air dry with this), and now the new Hair Oil which is fantastic. I use very small amounts of these products. I'll use a full pump of Dressed Up, a half pump of Hair Balm, and 5-6 drops of the Hair Oil. For reference, my hair is pretty long. It hangs just past my shoulder blades.

case1962: Thank you for this video! I have very fine hair, but extremely dense coverage (good luck finding my scalp). It's got a medium wave, bleached, frizzes in humidity, and is in a short Pixie. I like piecey and spikey texture, and I wear it in all directions. I usually air dry. Would you recommend Hair Balm or Wax, or are they different enough to get both?

Linda Caron: I’d be interested to see how you apply the Balm on already dried hair. Thx!

Rhonda Morgan: Very helpful!
