Hey everyone, I'm Stephanie Brinkerhoff with @ hairandmakeupbysteph, and I'm here with Kenra Professional to walk you guys through a low-knotted chignon., So this style doesn't require any curling and the bun itself is a little bit smaller. So this is a really great look for clients who have fine straight hair, so let's go ahead and get started. Okay. So the first thing I want to do is get a little bit of texture in her hair and I'm going to do that using a texturizing iron.. So I'm going to start with a heat protectant spray. So I'm just going to start here at the bottom and I'm going to mist in some of the Kenra Platinum Heat Cast Spray 12 and then just go in with this texturizing iron and lightly tap this in from roots to ends.. And this is just going to add a little bit of texture to her hair without actually adding any curl or anything like that, which is going to make it easier to style.. And you want to be careful when you're doing this. To make sure that you don't do too much., The idea is to just give it a little bit of texture, but not do so much that you can see the crimping pattern once it's all styled. and then I'm just going to repeat that moving up the head Until I have all of the hair covered with the texturizing iron, now I'm going to get ready to start pinning the crown. So what I want to do first is go in down here at the nape and just add some backcombing at the roots. So I'm just lightly backcombing underneath there and then I'm going to spray the volume spray 25 to lock that in place - and this is just giving me something to stick my pins into giving me a little bit more texture at the roots. And this will just help with the security of the updo overall, so I'm basically just focusing on the area back here in the middle back anywhere, where I think I'm going to place bobby pins okay. Now I want to work on the texture a little bit more. So I'm going to go in with some of the Kenra Smoothing Spray and this is going to help control frizz and help with the flyaways and add shine. But this is a super great product because it's not too heavy. So it's not going to weigh her hair down or make it look oily or greasy or anything like that. But you can see the nice shine and a little bit of separation that that's adding. So I'm focusing this mostly through the crowns because that's where I'm going to work with first Okay and then I'm just getting a couple of her flyaways up here with the Volume Spray 25.. So I'm going to start here in the center back and I'm going to start getting everything gathered in and bobby-pinned down here at the nape right below the occipital. So I'm just starting here in the center. I'm going to get that slightly twisted and then just carefully pull up on a couple sections to add a little bit more dimension.. Okay and then I can go ahead and get that pinned. So I'm just leaving my bobby pin closed and just weaving that in place And those bobby pins are going right into my backcombing, so they're nice and secure okay and then once the middle portion is secure, then I can go ahead and start adding in the sides. Just working my way towards the face, so I'm going to grab a little bit more hair here and bring it back twist it slightly and do the same thing I was doing before to give it a little bit of dimension and then, if I have any flyaways Or frizz, I'm just going to spray those down with the Kenra Volume Spray 25, as I go. Okay before I move on to the base, I'm just going to do a little bit more detailing with the Smoothing Spray. So I'm just going to define these ridges a little bit more add a little bit more dimension and just control the frizz a little bit more as well. I'm going in with more of the Smoothing Spray. And then I'm also going to go in the interior and do some of the volumizing spray play 15., and this is just going to help. Give it a little bit of bulk has a little bit of hold in there just to make this bottom section a little easier to work with Okay. Now I'm going to grab this section and divide it in half and then I'm going to tie those two pieces in a knot -- so just like that and before I move on I'm going to get that secured to the scalp.. Okay, I'm just going to get this out of the way for a second and then I can go ahead and detail these sections, so I'm just going to make them a little bit bigger and add a little bit of dimension to them All right. And then this top piece I'm going to let that down., Okay and then this is going to get wrapped across the top. So my ends will just get tucked underneath here and then I'll get that bobby pin in place. Okay and then this bottom piece is going to get wrapped over the back and tucked in right, here., Okay and then to finish, I'm just going to go in and smooth out any frizz with the Volume Spray 25
