You want your hairline to look as thick as it can. This is how I curl my fine hair.

Hi everybody, so I wanted to talk to you today about how I put the waves in my hair. A lot of my clients asked me about it and how I do it, so I have a really flat hair day today, it's my second day, so it's kind of slept on and it's pretty flat. So what I usually do is, I do use a volume, matte texture spray via mica. I really do love this one. I just try not to get it on my scalp, so what I want to do is I want to spray it up in this area in through here, and this just gives you a little bit of texture, so try not to spray it directly on my skin, But this will kind of help it last throughout the day, so it doesn't get too wet. They kind of just want to fluff it in there to help it dry a little bit, and then you can kind of feel that it just kind of gives it a little bit of grit and some movement through there. So that gives you a little bit more. Lift so what I usually do is, oh, I want to show you I have my Moroccan oil. This is a one inch curling iron. The great thing about the Moroccan oil is, I can set my heat setting. I don't know if you can see that when you first turn it on, it goes to 450 and us with fine hair. The lowest this iron can go is 265, so 265 is where I'm putting it at. I am putting my iron, the lowest. It can go. So a lot of people a lot of fine hair people still, you know, end up having it at like 3 or 350, which is fine. My hair, I'm going to take this whole section in front of my ear, and this is gon na, be my whole section and you can still kind of see through it because it's fine here, so I'm taking this whole section and the key thing to this is: I am gon na bring all of this forward and then curl back right at my face. So usually what people do is they'll bring it back and that's just how you usually do it and that's how you blow-dry your hair as well. So you and you kind of bring it back and do the curl from back here, but what you want is you want this hairline to look as full as it can so I'm gon na take all of this forward, make sure I got it off and then I am going to have it by my face and I'm gon na curl. It back see how it's kind of on my face, and as soon as that heat comes through, it's done. I the longer you leave it on there. It'S not gon na last any longer. So once that heat comes through, it's done, otherwise you are frying your hair off, so we don't want to do that so same thing back here, I'm going away from the face, but I'm gon na bring this forward a little bit and I'm probably just gon na. Do the front of my head, so you guys can see as soon as that heat comes through, I'm gon na bring it down and just kind of drop it just like that and I'll do this peace center here and then I'll show you how I do the Other side, so as soon as that heat comes through we're just gon na drop it down, because we do want these little pieces to be a little bit straighter on the bottom, because we don't want those Cowboy Cheerleader curls. We don't want those. We want them to be super soft and now, with my bangs in through here, sometimes I'll just leave those out, because I really don't want any wings or anything like that. But if you do not have bangs, if you have longer bangs down in through here, I would do the same as the other side. I would bring all this forward so since this is my heavier side, I am going to kind of just clip this back out of the way and bring all of this forward to my face. I'M gon na go back with it, so I'm gon na bring all this forward once that heat comes through, I kind of pull it through the ends, and then I drop it down. So you have a nice little roller. I'M gon na take this whole section. So, as you can see with how fine my hair is, I can get by with doing my whole head and I don't know ten curls, probably and once that heat comes through, I'm done I'm not doing any more than that. This is at 265. You do not need it now. If you have an iron that is older and you can't set the heat on it. I really recommend you getting a new, a new iron. You really want to know what your heat is set up set up. You do not want it like high or low, because even low can you know who knows what it is even at low. It could be at 400, so you have to kind of look at the box. So usually, what I do is, after I'll put my makeup on I'll. Let these curls cool and sit for a while the longer you can. Let them do that cool and do its own thing. I think that they last a little bit longer. Then you kind of just want to you can put more texture spray on if you want, or you can just kind of shake them up now within an hour or so. These, these, of course, will fall a little bit, which is fine, but, as you can see it just it gives you a nice wave in through here. It actually makes it look like you have more hair, because this is expanded and then usually what I end up doing is I end up tucking this, but since I curled it the way I curled it, I have a nice. My hair line is full in through here and then it's fuller behind my ear back in through here. So it really does make a difference to kind of bring that all forward and to curl it that way, just to keep your hairline as or as you can so. I hope that helps you guys talk to you later.

Katherine Wold: Miss Tabitha - You are a treasure trove of FINE & THIN hair knowledge! I have seen so many vids of stylists and influencers saying what one should do and perform on a thick head of hair but you are the real deal. Not only with valuable tips (not to overheat b/c it won't be any better other than frying the hair off) but you also have this same affliction as so many of us have. Thank you for being the REAL DEAL : )

BG Smith: You’re gorgeous, professional, easy to follow and so appreciate your time to share tips with us fine haired women

It’s Jess: Wow seriously, you have some amazing helpful tips! My hair is fine but I have lots of it or at least that’s what hairdressers used to say , I’ve lost some fullness since. I’m 41 & my mom is 61 & her hair is more like yours, I know that my hair will keep getting thinner as I see it in my shower and brush. So this really helps me help her and myself as well, and tips I can keep for future reference. I’ll definitely have to send your videos her way. I’m really trying to take care of my hair these days by keeping up with haircuts, I have better hot tools , I use a heat protectant ( btw I’d love updated recommendations for any hair products & if I can get away with some drugstore products that would help , I understand I should spend more in some cases to get a product or tool that works) I do try to use less heat as possible, I use the WET brush , I dye my hair less frequently & my mom just ordered us each a Silk Pillowcases ( not sure if needed / works but I’m trying everything I can to help ) I just need to maybe take some vitamins. Thanks so much ❤️

Nicole Gardens: Super cute! I have similar hair and hairstyle, still trying to master the curling iron so this is tremendously helpful!

Susan Hinkel: Great tutorial. What she teaches you can actually visualize

Melissa Culpepper: You are a Godsend to women who ACTUALLY have fine, THIN hair! So many of these Youtubers put out videos CLAIMING it’s for thin-haired women…only to discover, “oh, wait! You have thick hair!” They infuriate me because they are insensitive to our plight. So, thank you for your care and help!

Nina: You are such a stunning woman! Thank you for the advice. I have the same hair type. This was very helpful.

Catherine Marsh: I have really curly thick blond hair and an asian lady at a cafe with very thin fine straight hair said to me that she wished she had curly hair. So I thought I would search for her and here I found a great video for her. thank you.

Samantha McColeman: Have only just now found your videos and I SO appreciate that someone finally has the same hair I do! If you or anyone sees this, how do you combine the texture spray with a heat protectant? In what order? What heat protectant sprays do you like for thin/fine hair?

Maureen Austin: Thank you. Very helpful. Especially the hair line.

G Cook: Awesome video! I'm so glad I found you! Thank you for sharing your wisdom!

Julie Mann: Hi Tabita--can I use my hot rollers instead of a curling iron? Thank you!

Nikita Singh: You are one genuine person!! Thank you

Shirley Cottle: About time we see hair curling for fine hair

Paige Z: I remember learning from my hair stylist...if your curling iron is the same temp as the temp for baking cookies. your curling iron is too hot

Mini: My hair looks exactly like yours but a lot longer I hate how fine my hair is the ends are so faded no matter what I do thick haired people don’t understand how lucky they are

Rebeca Lopez: I love your channel! Thanks a lot for your videos and tips! I would like... What kind of comb do you use?

Rachael Cozad: Any idea how to open the spray top of the Amika product? I bought some and I can’t push the top down in order to get it to dispense! Maybe mine is defective or is there some little tabor something to break before it will dispense? Thanks for any ideas!

Shirley Cottle: Looks really nice x

lisa davis: What do you think about velcro rollers? Instead of heat, I let my hair air dry and then I spray Chi hair guard and use large velcro rollers.

Lucy Rane: A problem I am having, is I now have grey hair, and I love the color, and want to keep it; the most gorgeous colour; BUT, as the hair is coming in grey/ white shades, there are ‘transparent’ hairs that make me look ‘balding’, even though all the hair is still there. I am looking for some natural way to coat the hair in these areas but still maintain the beautiful grey. :( So far, I’m using bentonite clay and cornstarch, like a dry shampoo, that gives volume , texture, and keeps the color, but I have to reapply after washing my hair. Wish there was a permanent solution that doesn’t involve chemical dyes.

Frances Schmaltz: Use large perm rollers and you will get more volume with some curl.

Jocelyne Deveault: What do you put into your hair to help them grow without breaking it's been more than a year , I tried to grow my bangle and it's break, can you help me , by suggesting a good product or something to help. Thank you

Bonnie Haigh: Someone with hair like mine, very nice. I am wondering how long the curls last.

A K: Is this helpful? Its life saving! Thank u!

Hailey B-cheifin: How do you use a regular curling iron without getting kinks in it from the “clip” part. I have thin fine hair and have never been able to not have that kink in my hair

Angelina F: I have the same problem, my hair is scarse and thin....if I use a product with alcohol it turns horrible !

Ashley Allgood: Thank u for this video !!

Liberty Co: Wow, beautiful

Vickie Thaxter: Do you use hair spray?

Lauren Berryhill: Just found your channel; WONDERFUL! You may not recall, but what nail polish are you wearing here??

Percy Vazquez: Omg...loved what is your hair color? Its beautiful

Becky Kueng: Why shouldn't we spray the Amika spray near the skin?

terracelady: I have fine thin aging hair and a cowlick in back right side that I can't hide

puddinpak: Wait.. what about the back?? This is what I need to know!

jolanta chiu: nice
