Hey guys, graduation is just around the corner, for some of you. You'Ve got gown fittings and pictures to take so here's a few tips and easy styles that will keep your mind off your hair and focused on your achievements to get the graduation cap to fit over your big natural hair. You want to get it as flat in the crown as possible, so I suggest preparing the hair at night using the stretch twist out method. It provides great definition, but without so much volume if you've missed that video, you can click the link on the screen on the day of your graduation, take out your twist and wrap them into a low bun until it's time for you to get dressed and style. Your hair, the low bun, helps to stretch the hair even more reducing more volume of the crown. My hair is a little fuzzy. It'S a week old twist out, you'll want to start on fresh hair the night before okay, so now that we've reduced the volume of the crown it's time to style, so grab your cap and place it on your head. I like to place a cap on first then style around it. The first tile is really easy, just wear it out, and we want to make sure that when we throw the hat into the air for celebration, the style won't get messed up. So the Hat test and we're good on style number one for and out style number two for all my bohemian girls again place a cap on your head, grab the two side sections in the front and bring them to the back, then just secure them in place With small cloth clips or bobby pins use as many as you need and that's it for a really loose and laid-back half down style cat test approved. So what to do if your graduation falls on a more humid day, I've got you covered place. The cap on your head then twist the hair loosely from one side to the other, just to keep the hair from falling out separate the hair into two large sections and twist it together. All the way to the end then take the twist and roll it into itself to create a loose textured side, bun and bobby, pin the hair into place twisting the hair first creates an interesting cascading roll effect and, of course, the hat test is approved. Style number. Four, this time, I'm going to put my hair into a ponytail before placing my cap, I want the ponytail to be more towards the middle of my head and a cat might get in the way. So once your ponytail is set place, your cat grab the ponytail and wrap it loosely around itself to create a bun bobby, pin each section as you wrap and push your cap out of the way. If you need to, we want this bun to be nice and big, you can make it as perfect or as bohemian as you want, then pull the cap down to meet the button and you've got a really full and voluminous bun perfect for humid occasions indefinitely hat Test approved, so you don't have to worry, as you celebrate, so no matter which style you prefer. You can rest assure that you won't have to worry about your hair on your special day. I hope this helps guys and congratulations to all you graduates until next time. You

nformusic: I remember watching this when I was graduating from high school. Now I'm referring back to it for my college graduation :)

LuvinLyfe052: YAY to the class of 2012 (Including me!!). Thanks for this video. I've always been nervous about what to do with my hair when wearing the graduation cap. As always, another great one!! I will definitely keep these suggestions in mind as I prepare to walk across the stage for the second time around! Woot Woot!!!

NaturallyStellie93: I'm super excited that you did this! It's perfect timing also. However, I'm still in the twa stage with about 5in of hair, but my graduation isn't until early June so hopefully i'll come up with something by then. I love your ring! Oh and I finally tried your wrap recipe and even my picky little brother loved it! Thanks :)

Yasmeen J.: AAAHHHHH!! These kinds of videos are so useful for your viewers still in school! Especially the vids with the simple hairstyles because I know that when I have my 8 a.m. class to go to at my college, I DEFINITELY don't want to do something complex! Thanks so much Naptural! You truly are a blessing!

M. Hill: Thank you for making this video, even though I'm still hoping to have some sort of curls or twist out to show off my newly grown natural hair or the first time , this video will DEFINITELY be a go to if I can't find a style come this April. Thank you again. I love your videos.

o0oitsme: Thank you, I needed this so much. I was going to wear twists so I wouldn't have to worry about styling the morning of but these styles are so cute I just might try them!

msvateme: Love how timely your vids are, I graduate in 95 days and how I'm going to wear my hair has crossed my mind a few times! I'm leaning towards mini twists to show off my length.

Angelic Éternelle: Awww! I'm a junior now, but by graduation I plan to be completely natural! So this helps a bunch! And your hair is gorgeous! :)

JT: THIS IS PERFECT! I literally just thought about what hairstyle I should wear that's curly but won't give me hat hair after I take the cap off. Thanks Naptural85!

TippyElle3: Congratulations! Thank you for making this video because I too will be graduating in May and had no idea how I am going to style my hair under that tight cap. Although my hair is much shorter than yours, I am very much inspired and of course excited to GRADUATE!!!!

mokumarilyn: i will be graduating in december and i wanted to walk across the stage with my natural hair out and proud..instead of a protective style and this and many of your other videos have really helped me stick with being natural for almost two years. thank you!!!

Erica Twumasi: @Naptural85 I concur with Mumama05 I LOVE your videos, but I am natural newbie and still rocking the twa. :) It would be great, if you could do a general *newly* natural hair tip video of things you learned along the way, and possibly some do's and definitely don'ts. That would be awesome!

Malikah J: can you make an updated graduation cap video, please please pleasssssse???

Jen B.: This is awesome! I can definitely feel great about heading into my college graduation now. :)

Look2Good2Binnocent: Damn! I wish I had a video like this for my graduation in 2011. I just went to this Dominican Salon and they used the flat brush/blow dryer method on my hair to make it bone ass straight (I hadn't seen it straight in almost 3 yrs! It was mindblowing) and they gave me flat twists and this beautiful full, curly bun. It was nothing like my fro, but the cap fit easy! Everyone at the store was SO impressed my hair was natural and they took extra special care to mind that fact.

Black_Barbie825: Great video I know this would be a great video to watch for anyone graduating that has natural hair, cuz I know sometimes the first thought is that you have to straighten your hair in order to fit the cap on your head, and your video gives great examples and alternatives to that option. Thanks for sharing (-:

ThatChickWithTheFro: Ahh these are fantastic tips! I'm not graduating from my university for a couple of years, but I'll definitely use these ideas for wearing my hats in the mean time! I thought I'd have to give them up since my hair's been getting BIIIIG lol

CaramelKinks: Ah! I graduated in 2009 but my hair was much shorter then and I just had braids but I'm going back for my masters now and this is PERFECT! Thank you for the video!

The Lexie Wilson - Manifestation Teacher: Man! I wish I had this video two years ago when I graduated! But I'll keep it in my favorites for when I graduate from my Masters in a year! Thanks for this because I gotta tell you-all of my natural friends and I were stressing out cause those caps are NOT meant for people like us! :(

ztutuh: Thanks for doing this! I've been thinking about what I was going to do to my hair come May!

ialli1: Thank you for this smart and fun tutorial - am graduating soon and this video was a Godsend!

MsDiyaMAC: I'm graduating this year from high school. CLASS OF 2012!!!! I usually straighten my hair for special occasions but I vowed to not use heat anymore. I'm so happy you made this video thanks so much! Do you have any videos on natural hairstyles for prom? Could you make one ?

jahmochaful: Appreciate this so much <3 I've been wondering what to do with my fro under that cap. Yay for Class of 2012!

2410naturalD: great idea!! I had a major problem when I graduated. My hair is shorter, 6 mths natural, and I pinned my cap in order to stay on. When I finally looked in the mirror after pictures and walking of coarse, I discovered my cap was cocked to the side. :0)

semt9: I had a bantu knot out fro for my graduationg ^^ For those like me who don't have a lot of hair it's totally doable :)

melan12027: I am having mine tomorrow. This vid was wonderful!!! Keep it up!! gorgeous hair too

chelleum: Great tips!!! When I graduated my hair was that long. I did a twist out.

Shelby Rose: My hair is not long enough for it to matter how I do it (still TWA at the moment), but you managed to make me feel exited about graduating which I haven't felt happy about for a long time! Thank you!

HateItOrLoveIt101: This is going to be so helpful in a year. Thanks!!!

Angelic Éternelle: Lol, soon to be high school graduate here! I can relate to what you're saying. Every special event, I've noticed that I tend to flat iron my hair. So my mom expects me to to straighten it for graduation, but I'm not going to, so this vid helps a lot!
