Hey guys Christy here, this is a really easy back to school style for beginners. If you are a foster or adoptive parent. I am here to support you and inspire you on the importance to learn how to take care of your child's hair. I think that oftentimes us Mamas get a little overwhelmed with the task of trying to learn and care for our child's hair, especially if we did not grow up with this type of texture and we didn't grow up around it. It'S actually gorgeous. It'S super versatile and the more confident you are going to be is when you learn more about the hair porosity, the type of hair, the texture, what products and tools work with it in the beginning, when you're trying to learn, I really do suggest taking her to A salon and listening and filming and asking lots of questions you do not want your child walking around with their hair, not done it's not good for their confidence and their feeling of self-worth, and it really will help you learn. But at the same time, I do feel like, if you always take your child to the salon that you're kind of teaching them that the hair is too much to handle. And you can't handle it. And you don't want to take the time and effort to learn and care for their hair, so doing so will teach them that they are worthy and you want to learn. It is just pouring love into them and it's an amazing bonding experience. I can't tell you how many more things I've learned about my children and how many different ways we have bonded just by sitting down and doing hair. I do all different kinds of styles on my girl's hair. Sometimes we do lots of teeny box braids. Sometimes we do cornrows which, by the way I cannot do so. I have a friend that does it for me, but sometimes we just do simple Styles and it's getting late. This day we had a very fun-filled weekend, so this is just going to be a simple style after a wash. That would be a perfect opportunity to show you mamas how you can care for your child's hair with just simple Styles. My goal with this style is to get it into a protective style that looks cute, and it's going to last until next Sunday. I find it easiest for me to separate it into multiple different rough Parts. I will go ahead and perfect those parts a little bit later on. I have learned that working in sections is definitely much more efficient than trying to do the whole thing at one time I can moisturize each section individually and detangle, starting at the bottom and working my way up and then move on to the next section when you're Working with a big, beautiful head of hair like this, it will get dry quickly and it's a little bit more difficult to work with. So I always keep a spray bottle on hand with, like my favorite Oil, we're all about the argan oil lately, the type of spray bottles I use are continuous spray bottles. I usually get them off of Amazon. I'Ll put a link to a few of my favorites down below, as well as the products that I'm using and the tools in the description box. As you can see, I'm just doing the initial parting and then I will go ahead and go back section by section and I will use a little bit of edge, gel or grease. And I will gently apply it onto the parts and then do a little bit more of a defined part, but I'm really just trying to section it out so that I can get the detangling process started, get some moisture in it before I start styling. If you almost have any questions as I'm styling and as this video is playing, definitely leave them down below in the comment section, and I will respond to you but yeah, let's get styling. Thank you. Thank you foreign here I am again I just had to pop. In - and this is my go-to - I always do some type of braids or twists and smaller sections, the better on the mid to the back of the head. But in the front I get creative, I have fun. Sometimes we do a bun if I'm running out of time or we do multiple twists and braids. Sometimes we separate it like part it into like all sorts of fun parts, and I do gathers and twists and different things running out of time today. So I just did like a slightly side ponytail and I did a bunch of twists but later on in the week I was able to refresh just the top only and give it a different style. That'S the beauty about my girl's hair. It is so versatile. I could just do a different style in the front or the back. You know and have a full fresh new style to rock for another week. I I purposely did a very simple style to learn in today's video, because I want you guys to know that you don't have to be super skilled and have all these unique techniques. You can just do simple Styles and have your girls be beautiful and taken care of, and moisturized and detangled it's okay to rock the simple Styles you got. This Mama's follow my community, my supportive Community for foster and adoptive parents. You can subscribe to me here and follow me on Instagram, because I post daily over there about my large family adoptive, modern lifestyle, it's getting late, so that's about it. For today I am tired and so is my girl. But here is a quick fun style and then at the top we can do something fun throughout the week. Don'T forget to leave your questions below and subscribe and follow me on Instagram see you next time, foreign

Hope Amore: Well done! You’re going to inspire so many mums that have black children, to care for their hair ❤❤❤

Kellie F: You've done an AMAZING job in not only learning how to do/maintaining their natural hair, but showing what unconditional love a mother has for their children! You and your family are beautiful! Love from Houston. Flowers for you, Mama! Stay Blessed! ❤

Anitra Holmes: Your message is so full of love and care. If only everyone could look at one another with the empathy, care, and love you display by just caring for your children. My heart is so warmed with how you are an advocate in the trans- racial adoption space. Keep it up!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yogi Neferititi: I so agree lady! Hair does play into confidence. My mother always took time to do our hair. She really let us experiment with braids and weaves too at a young age. Just so we could learn.

yaya9328: You did a great job! I loved seeing Ace show his baby brother and sister love ❤️

Elle Cook: Avaya feeding bubba, love it! Big siblings helping mamas out is my favourite!

Yemi Fadipe: Chrisy, shout out to your parents. You were raised with so much love and that is how you can transmit this love to your adoptive children and to us your fans. You are so beautiful.

Lioness: Her hair is sooo healthy and beautiful! I could tell you having fun with her hair. Baby boy just chilling drinking his milk and Aviva does such a good job feeding him.

myrevair: Your sweet daughter is growing up before our eyes! Team RevAir loves witnessing how you pour so much love into your children. Loving this hair style too, so cute!

so hard2sea: braiding ethnic hair is so satisfying. i love what you said about doing your daughters hair. its really not optional, i wish more moms understood the importance of cultivating self worth

Darlene Popelier: I love to watch you do their hair. ❤ As an African American mom I appreciate that you took the time to learn and to take that knowledge and pass it on.

San R68: Ace's little hugs and kisses was so sweet and beautiful Well done Mama.

Peace of Mona: I’ve been following you forever! I just love the way you take care with their natural tresses! I find that the Let’s Jams styles don’t last as long when I use it. I use the red (or yellow) Shine n’ Jam on my daughters hair, and it’s really slicks those roots down and holds the style well. Your baby girl’s hair is so moisturized and shiny! Thanks for a great video, family!! ❤

Candy Springer Blackman: This video is so sweet looking at you doing her hair and seeing the twin and their love for their baby brother

Shakeria: I just love you Christy! Your words of encouragement were everything.

MGraceWill: You did great! When I first had my daughter (12 years ago), she had completely different textured hair than I have. We both have thick hair, but I had no idea how to care for hers without it being emotionally exhausting every time it was time to do her hair. We eventually got through it, but it took hours. Mine is wavy straight, hers had a tight curl pattern. I couldn’t find the help that I needed to maintain her curls for the life of me. It was like no one seemed to have any advice. It was so difficult to manage, especially because she was so tender headed that detangler didn’t even seem to help, and I tried everything. Today, there’s so much more knowledge shared about how to properly care for our textured curly hair. I just wish I had the knowledge 12 years ago. She wears it mostly straight now, but it’s still thick & beautiful. Do your girls prefer to wear theirs natural or straightened? I follow your IG & I mostly see it natural - just curious. ❤

Veronica Goodridge: Your son is getting big. You are doing a fantastic job as a mom. Love watching your channel. Keep them coming.

Angelia Dinkins: You're just an awesome mom!!!!

ravensis: Thank you so much for these videos. I'm hoping to foster in a few years, and these videos are so helpful to start learning how to take care of hair which is much curlier and more textured than mine.

yogie fitch: Thank you for always sharing, teaching and expressing the importance of combing black hair. It is important and needed.... Practice makes perfect. I always comb my daughter's hair in sections, that is a necessity. keeping our hair moisturized and hydrated is important. Peace and blessings and congrats on the baby....

Alicia Martin: I have watched your channel for a while now and you do an amazing job taking care of their hair. It's healthy and has so much moisture which is the key to natural hair. Keep up the Amazing work that you are doing with all your kids❤️ We love y'all!❤️

htowngurl17: Love how much you know about AA hair and how much love you can feel through your videos from you to your children and how they love each other

Pam C: You’re such a good momma. I absolutely love watching you do the girls hair. Avaya seems to be a mommas girl to me. My fav videos are your grocery hauls, doing hair and family time.xoxo

Rachel Banks: Thank you, for being that mom who cares about your daughters hair and taking the time to learn and grow, this is amazing and I'm in tears of joy seeing this, as a women of color THANK YOU

D Chan: I am not a foster or adoptive parents and I don’t even have girls, but I love these videos! Also, what an amazing sister!!!

Lisa Mohammed: Hey Christy I thoroughly enjoyed your live segment this morning except for those 2 horrible trolls. I just love all that unconditional love you have for your children..you are a great Mama..my kids are grown now and moved out and my husband and I are retired so following your channel is great for me. It's truly refreshing to see how you care and love your family.

Vickie C: I love the style ! What a gorgeous girl with gorgeous hair

FoxyFox_92: I love seeing your loving attitude towards your kids and their self esteem. In a harsh world, this is one of the few places on the internet I can come to for peace and kindness.

abradford1985: You did a great job! Such a beautiful family ❤

luv4all: I love how you took the time to care for their hair. The way your kids look are a reflection of you. I definitely agree with what you said about taking them to a beauty shop if you need help. I think it’s great that you put these videos out related to hair care. Also, you have beautiful children. They seem to be so caring to one another. The baby is adorable! I thought he was a doll at first❤

Maitha Owl: You’ve done a great job in her hair very gorgeous ❤ her hair looks healthy and beautiful

Mya Marie: ive been watching you for a couple of years now and i love the way you empower your children and especially your willingness to learn! wheewwww chile! you have my whole heart

Sherri Curtis: Yes I always tell my husband about our oldest daughters hair, it just needs to be cleaned and styled neatly, that simple lol

Myriam Elie: Love the patience and love you put on your daughter's hair...

Joseph Dupree-Washington: I love how you take care of your daughters . Awesome mom.

Somaya Jenkinson: I admire the interest you show in doing the girl's hair, you're doing an amazing job, and I applaud you. The unconditional love that you have for them is so admirable. You're doing a great job, Mommy. ❤❤❤

Queen Nanna: Wow, I just became a subscriber. Momma, you did a beautiful job with your daughter's hair. Thank you for showing those of us in the minority community and other communities that our hair is beautiful and all it just takes is putting in the love and effort. Your daughter's hair turned out beautifully. If a Caucasian woman can do this then any and all black mothers can do this. I see black mothers on YouTube having their daughter's in tears and in the end putting a chemical straightener in their daughters;;s hair and calling it a texturizer. As though that is different from any other chemical relaxer. Thank you for a wonderful video and thank you for teaching your children to love every part of themselves. You were able to do what other black moms on YouTube can't do. And that is being able to style your daughter's hair beautifully and without any tears. Keep up the great work.

Shakina Riley: I love how you put all the love and effort in your girls beautiful hair

Marie Taylor: Christy, you are one phenomenal mother; I salute you with all my heart.

Donna McK: You may not be able to do cornrows, but you have done so many other gorgeous styles on your girls.

Ms. Trueheart: Ace giving hugs that's so sweet ... growing up we were taught that the detangling brush wasn't for AA hair. Now as a adult I realize it takes gaining knowledge to understand products. Detangling brush definitely have been a life saver. Can I also offer praise. I know you don't do braids but I'm so glad you are still caring for your babies hair

Nina Justice: Her hair is so healthy, long and pretty ❤

Luxe Locks Curls LLC: Such a cute hairstyle!

Life with Jayda: You do such a great job with your babies hair❤️.

Lavon Lloyd: Avaya's hair has grown so much!! Keep up the good work mama, whatever you're doing is working! ❤

Deaunna Jonae: You did an excellent job! Her hair is very beautiful and healthy❤

Shannon Oglesby: I’m not a foster or adoptive parent and I’ve even learned so much from your channel

ogolalfred: I’m a single dad learning to take care of my daughter’s hair. I’ve tried two different styles: same as what you did with rubber bands to hold down the hair near the scalp AND one without the rubber bands. She seems to not like the rubber band version as her head hurts when she’s sleeping. She prefers the other style, but her hair doesn’t stay put for long. Any feedback for me on how to get better at this? Thanks

Alison Garahan: I just really needed this - thank you.

JEANELL: You do such a fantastic job on their hair. I am African American, and I can't do hair that well. I'm almost 60, and I wear a ponytail every day because that is all I know how to do.

beverley39jegc: Hi: Christy you're doing an amazing job with your girls hair❤❤❤

Miss Buchanan: Just seeing this channel and I applaud you for learning how to care for 4c hair. That is love in action. All the best and don't listen to negativity.

Stacy Jamison: Her hair is healthy and long thanks to the love you are giving it and her. You rock Christy

Ahh Royalty: And if you get tired there’s always braiding salons and natural hair salons to help as well. It’s not an easy task but you definitely get an A for the effort

Erin Forte: Love love this Tip: if you want to twist without using an elastic, make about a cm of braid, then twist

M C.: Wow you did an amazing job! She looks beautiful.

Sesethu Memese: Awesome Mommy! Avaya’s hair is growing so long and thick.❤

Pauluvette Brown: Hello missed you Ace came in and gave everybody a hug that is so cute her hair is so long you taking really good care of there hair when she gets in jr high school they're probably going to want more braids the baby is getting so big

hesen: Even the way you seem to enjoy doing their hair is lovely. Kudos mum

Maria: Great job...nice bonding moments. Even when your son came in and hugged everyone. God's Love and Blessings to you all.

Nucking Futs: POV: Just One way to end racism! Great job on her hair!

S Brown: GET IT, CHRISTY! MEANING, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING. I APPRECIATE YOU!

Rusheia Williams: Your an amazing mom christy, i really admire you

Just Treva: I've ALWAYS loved how open and honest you are!!!! I love me some you and the family!!!!

Christi Lounsbury: Your kiddos are so beautiful!! I ❤ her smile at the end. At one point I thought she was screaming, and then realized it was a yawn

Cautionary Tales: This is amazing how much you cared enough to learn how to do Black hair

…. Thoughts by me: You are a great mom. I’m black and I love this to much

flowingover: I get what you are saying but sometimes their hair does not have to be done, its gorgeous in its natural state and they are just as beautiful as is.

Shelia D: Her hair looks beautiful. She’s growing so fast she’ll be doing her own hair soon

Sarah: OMG I love her beautiful crown. I’m also jealous of the natural ombré Will you teach your girls to braid their own hair?

Nai-lah Krista Simone: My only thing is I was scared that broken hair might get away into baby's eyes. Great job again mommy

Just Shaela: I love that you take the time to do your children hair & the reasoning was just❤️but those are your children there’s a new baby in the home your a busy mom don’t feel guilty for those times they have to go to the salon I’m a black girl with hair similar to your girls & my mom sent us to the salon all the time ❤️

Nai-lah Krista Simone: Twist the sections after detangling so thT hair doesn't get matted all over again during styling.

Soraya: You are such a blessing and your kids are blessed to have you.

Linda Harris: Loving it. One of your best. Go big sister.

Yolanda M: You always do an awesome job.

B.Peters: Her hair is getting so long!! It’s healthy too!! ❤

OrganizedTanglz: It’s the love you show pour into them that is so awesome! You get that it’s hair but is apart of their self esteem. ❤

Steph Powell: She has an amazing colour hair, reddish brown/ dark auburn ❤️ just gorgeous. Lucky girl Also her hair is getting so looong ❤️

Rachel C: wow so beautiful, her hair has grown so much

Sara Turner: Ace coming in and giving hugs was so sweet ❤

latasha lewis: Beautiful job , you should teach others how to do our hair that are not of the same race. I'm sure they would appreciate it . MAKE A CLASS ON INSTAGRAM OR YOUTUBE. HAVE THEM PAY TO LEARN. HOW TO DO OUR HAIR AND DONT WORRY ABOUT HATERS THEY WILL ALWAYS BE THERE

JS Backstage: The hugs and kisses from Ace though .. so adorable

Judy Whitehall: Well done Mum and Avayah is growing up so pretty and a great big sister feeding cute baby brother .

Mercedes lopes: Aww you are an amazing mom I admire the way you take care of your kids

Tammi Fields: Such a Great and Patient Mommy!❤️

FeeFee 86: You did a great job moisture is the key to african/black hair.❤️❤️❤️❤️

Fit2BJustMe: I am not sure why your channel was in my recommendations because I would not be your target audience (not an adoptive family and we only have boys) , but I watched your video anyway and I just wanted to say that I appreciate you #1 for opening your home and heart to adopting children especially of a different ethnicity. That can sometimes be a challenge and not one everyone is equipped to do.. And #2 for learning how to not only take care of your daughters hair, but taking the time to teach other mothers what to do as well. I salute you for loving these children. I wish you continued blessings to you and your family.

Frolie: She’s just a growing…with her pretty self. beautiful head of hair!!

S Brown: HER HAIR IS HEALTHY AND BEAUTIFUL. YOU ARE SO GREAT AT THIS.

Christine Spain - Stewart: Hi Christy, I love the finger coils at the top.❤❤❤

Erika Manning: Pantene Gold Products are amazing, they have a detangling mouse in pump form that's everything, my hair is more like Naveh, I believe the Daughters hair your doing, it is even growing my hair, you were the one that helped me consider different products for my hair, I use Creme of Nature's Argon Creme while styling.

Latoya Richardson: Great job Mommy you have a beautiful family

Mbombo Emmanuel: Her hair is beautiful thank you for sharing

flblackbutterfly1: I started watching your videos when I saw the love and care you gave to your two Black daughters hair. Now on another note, if she wants to get it relaxed one day let her. You will be shocked at how long that beautiful thick 4c hair is. And there’s nothing wrong with allowing her to relax it. You are a FANTASTIC mother!! Great job!❤

Tshimangadzo Mavhungu: This is just so awesome to watch

Chronicles of Tanya: Aaww ace coming in and hugging his brother and sister is so sweet

S Brown: I GET SO EMOTIONAL WHEN I SEE YOU INTERACT WITH HER. ITS ALL LOVE
